League of Legends Patch 7.24: Christmas is coming to the Rift
League of Legends' next big content patch is 7.24, bringing a special Christmas-themed version of URF, as well as a host of balance and bug fixes. Those include significant changes to Morgana, Galio and Zyra, as well as several smaller changes. Have a look below for all the information we've got, straight from the PBE.
* **Aurelion Sol{{champion:136}} - buffed Voice of Light (R): Cooldown decreased to 110/90/70 seconds (was 120/100/80 seconds)** Hopefully this will be enough to see an increase in Sol mid players. A slight boost to his damage could bring him back into the meta. --- * **Bard{{champion:432}} - buffed HP regen increased to 1.5 (was 1.08)** Not a huge change really. I feel like RIOT is just cleaning up numbers with awkward decimals. Theres really not a whole lot of difference in 1.08 and 1.1, but 1.5 looks a lot cleaner. Not to mention giving Bard just a little more sustain in lane. --- * **Camille{{champion:164}} - buffed Adaptive Defenses (P): Shield duration increased to 2 seconds (was 1.5 seconds) Precision Protocol (Q): No Cost Recast time to 3.5 seconds (Was 3 seconds)** I feel like this buff could help Camille come back into the top meta a bit. Early game when she really needs her shield, it seems like it takes mostly minion damage before it drops with half of the total shield remaining. Increasing the duration will definitely help her start winning more trades and coming out of them feeling better. --- * **Darius{{champion:122}} - buffed Hemorrhage (P): Bleed damage increased to 13-30 (was 10-27) Noxian Might bonus AD increased to 30-230 (was 30-200)** I don't play as or against Darius a lot, but he seems to have all but dropped out of top lane. Hopefully this patch will give him enough love to come back in the meta. --- * **Ezreal{{champion:81}} - nerfed Mystic Shot (Q): AD ratio decreased to 110% (was 125%)** ~~THANK GOD FINALLY RITO TH~~ The AD Ratio being tuned down will hopefully balance out Ezreal's winning streak. Since most Ezreal's seem to take Kleptomancy, the damage reduction should counter him getting more items faster than most. --- * **Galio{{champion:3}} - changed Colossal Smash (P): AP ratio decreased to 50% (was 70%) Justice Punch (E): Cooldown decreased to 12/11/10/9/8 (was 14/13/12/11/10) Shield of Durand (W): First cast: AP ratio increased to 5% from 4%. Second cast: _New effect:_ Now deals 20/30/40/50/60 (+20% AP) to 60/90/120/150/180 (+60% AP) depending on time charged** I've never been a fan of AP Galio, and it seems Riot and I have opposing opinions. Now AP Galio is still viable vs heavy AP comps, but now has another way to one-shot champions. By holding them still and dealing damage all with one ability, following up with a Q and E. But what are your thoughts? --- * **Ivern{{champion:427}} - buffed Friend of the Forest (P): Grove HP cost decreased to 147-176 (was 192-248) Rootcaller (Q): Cooldown decreased to 11/10/5/10/9.5/9 (was 14/13/12/11/10) --- * **Jarvan IV{{champion:59}} - nerfed Martial Cadence (Passive): Bonus damage decreased to 8% (was 10%) Dragon Strike (Q): Damage decreased to 80/120/160/200/240 (was 80/125/170/215/260)** Hopefully this will mark the end of Full Lethality Assassin Jarvan. I know we all hated getting jumped and 1-shot by a tank with no way to counter or leave it aside from flashing and praying. --- * **Jhin{{champion:202}} - nerfed Curtain Call (R): Damage decreased to 50/115/180 from 60/130/200** This hopefully comes with the patch needed to fix the uhh... noteworthy Jhin bug. You all know the one. --- * **Karthus{{champion:30}} - buffed Requiem (R): AP ratio increased to 75% (was 60%)** Well. Karthus doesn't seem to be that big of a threat as he should be, and when I've played him previously his damage seemed rather lackluster for an ulti that can reach every champion. Hopefully now this will make players against him think a bit more about him ulting. --- * **Leona{{champion:89}} - nerfed Eclipse (W): Damage decreased to 40/80/120/160/200 (was 60/100/140/180/220)** Not a huge change, likely implemented to prevent accidental KS when tanking for the assist. --- * **Malzahar{{champion:90}} - nerfed Nether Grasp (R): AP ratio decreased to 80% (was 100%)** This is actually a huge relief. Playing against Malzahar is already a chore. This change should force them to focus more on voidlings and timing, rather than just popping whatever voidlings you have stored up and ulting for a guaranteed kill. --- * **Maokai{{champion:57}} - nerfed Bramble Smash (Q): Damage decreased to 65/105/145/185/225 (was 70/115/160/205/250)** Damage nearly the same early on, decreased at later levels. I've got little to no insight to Maokai, so perhaps you guys know how big of an impact this could make? --- * **Morgana{{champion:25}} - changed Mana regen per 5 seconds increased to 11.5 from 8.5. Mana regen growth decreased to 0.4 from 0.8. Soul Siphon (P): ~~10/15/20% spell vamp~~ _New effect:_ When Morgana' spells damage champion, large minions, or large monsters, she heals for 15/20/25/30/35/40% (at levels 1/4/7/10/13/16) of the damage dealt. Tormented Soil (W): _New effect:_ When Soul Siphon is triggered, Tormented Soil's cooldown is reduced by 5%.** This might actually make me play Morgana more often. Just be warned, full AP Morgana seems like she'd be scary late game, healing for quite a bit of the massive damage she'll deal. --- * **Ornn{{champion:516}} - nerfed Bellows Breath (W): Magic damage decreased to 10/12/14/16/18% (was 12/14/16/18/20%) ** Hopefully this will curb Ornn's damage enough to bring him down from the #1 top laner spot. These changes should hopefully allow him to be fought more often in lane without the constant fear of being chunked. --- * **Riven{{champion:92}} - buffed Broken Wings (Q): Damage increased to 15/35/55/75/95 (was 10/30/50/70/90)** I'm not sure what the 5 increase of damage will give to her gameplay, but its bound to do something. --- * **Sona{{champion:37}} - nerfed Hymn of Valor (Q): Mana cost increased to 60/65/70/75/80 (was 45/50/55/60/65) Bonus magic damage decreased to 10/15/20/25/30 (+30% AP) from 20/30/40/50/60 (+20% AP)** Sona was my first main when I came into League, and this feels like a personal slight. But I do have to agree, the mana cost of her Q was too much to ignore. Having almost free poke early game let her proc her Spellthief's Edge with ease, giving her an advantage most other supports don't have. However, the aura's nerf will also push towards a more AP Sona meta. This seems to punish more passive, item centered builds. --- * **Taric{{champion:44}} - nerfed Base armor decreased to 40 from 45** --- * **Xin Zhao{{champion:5}} - nerfed Base HP decreased to 570 (was 600) Wind Becomes Lightning (W): Thrust Damage AD decreased to 75% (was 85%) * **Yorick{{champion:83}} - nerfed Base AD decreased to 65 from 62** This is VERBATIM from the site I've linked to. I assume the numbers are switched, but I've no clue. --- * **Zyra{{champion:143}} - changed Mana regen per 5 seconds increased to 11.5 (was 8.5) Mana regen growth decreased to 0.4 (was 0.8)** * **Garden of Thorns (P): Plant spawn regen decreased to 900 (was 1300) Plant duration increased to 8 (was 5-7.5 depending on level) Passive seed duration decreased to 30 seconds (was 45 seconds) Does not change W seed duration** *** Plant durability changes: Plant health increased to 8 (was 4) Ranged champion basic attack damage to plants increased to 4 (was 2) Melee champion basic attack damage to plants increased to 8 (was 2) Single target spell damage to plants increased to 8 (was 4) Spell AOE damage to plants increased to 4 (was 2) Periodic damage to plants decreased to 1 (was 2) Large minion/monster damage to plants increased to 2 (was 1) Plant gold on kill decreased to 3 (was 5)** * **Rampant Growth (W): Zyra's plants no longer gain 10/20/30/40/50% extra max health. New effect: When Zyra takes down an enemy champion, Rampant Growth's recharge time is reduced by 20%, increased to 100% for champions, large minions, and large monsters.** * **Grasping Roots (E): Damage increased to 60/105/150/195/240 (was 60/95/130/165/200)** * **Stranglethorns (R): _New effect:_ Garden of Thorns now resets plant duration and they gain 50% health.** I don't even know what to make of this, nor how to put it into a TL:DR. Needless to say, Zyra seems like she'll be a lot more healthier, if a little harder to get to once she's built up a garden. --- * **Zoe{{champion:142}} - changed Paddle Star (Q):_(This change was hotfixed to live on November 22)_ Damage increased to 45/75/105/135/165 (was 40/70/100/130/160) Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E): Cooldown reduction now only happens when enemy champions fall asleep.** --- Tell me what you think about the upcoming changes.
