I just saw a Teemo draw aggro by accident, get CCd in it for a solid 4 seconds, and not even lose a third of his health.
I just saw a Vayne eat a full Thresh combo under tower, only to do more damage in a couple autos than the tower had done to her.
Both of these happened in laning phase.
Turrets doing nothing actually removes gameplay from champs that are good at baiting dives and then turning them around (ie nearly every utility character and support).
I saw a suggestion that towers should ignore a percentage of champion base armor, which seems pretty reasonable.
