support items should ONLY nerf gold UNTIL COMPLETED

The new support items come with this wonderful (sarcasm) new feature... "Receive diminishing gold from excessive minion kills." However, this needs to turn off once the item is full upgraded.. or perhaps just when there is no friendly nearby. ...because as it is, there are many games where I'm catching waves mid/late (as zyra or lux), that are just crashing into tower because my team doesn't get them, and the gold is getting nerfed so hard, I'm getting 6g per creep, I actually wish I sold the damn thing.. and now I'm actually starting to sell it.. For damage carry mages, it's more valuable to sell the item and get the full value of waves than to have the item... which is certainly not "working as intended" Maybe Riot wants to stop damage carry supports?
