So I've been playing league for a while, seen champions come out, get changed, and have make-overs. But I feel a little left out for some reason.
Let me explain, back in the olden days supporting was a different thing than it is today. We have assassins and mages galore, now we have a ranged marksman come into play. I patiently wait for another enchantress to be released, because that's what supporting is for me. I enjoy being a low health-pool, low-damage, utility player. I enjoy buffing allies. I enjoy weakening enemies. I enjoy the thrill of watching how another player succeeds because I turn the tables and swap the odds. I enjoy not being in direct, head-to-head combat (like Pyke, Lux, Leona, and now Senna) because what is rewarding for me isn't killing the enemy, isn't diving them as a tank, binding them with ranged abilities (though there are some exceptions)... What I want to see from Riot is something actually new, and fresh. They have the right spirit of making supports with radically different play-styles but have missed something very rewarding about the role in the first place.
I'm not here to be a damage dealer,
I don't want to dive in,
I don't want to be tanky.
I think that having a champion who doesn't have an escape at all is a fun challenge,
Being easy to kill makes you more aware of your surroundings,
Doing no damage makes you appreciate your TEAM and your TEAM appreciate you.
All of those things are fundamentals of supporting. Map awareness, keeping someone alive, depending on others isn't your weakness it's a strength. I don't know *sigh.
Maybe one day Riot will release a champ just for the players like me, who crave another Janna, Lulu, Nami, and Sona.
