As a support, I think this season is okay but it could be better for everyone.

As a support player, I'm generally enjoying the game. I feel like I have more impact than in previous seasons, but I would appreciate if riot would separate support power from ADCs. I feel like support synergizes too strongly with the marksmen and ONLY marksmen, rather than support simply being too strong in general. I would rather support the whole team than feel like I am a travelling ADC buff. If everyone shared a bit more equally from the support's strength, then people wouldn't feel like bot lane's impact is so unfairly weighted. {{item:3107}} {{item:3110}} are okay examples of items that can support the whole team but I don't think every support item should be AOE/aura either. {{item:3050}} could be turned into an item that the support binds to a tank/fighter in order to summon two melee range storms that are stronger when converging so that you buy it as a support tank and coordinate to engage with your bound melee ally. I also wish there were more bot carries than marksmen and I wish that there were item equivalents to {{item:3504}} that I could buy to support the team's mage carries. {{item:3905}} could be an item that you bind to a mage ally, and when you activate the item, 1 ghost travels from each of you and you both gain bonus magic pen against enemies slowed by the ghosts. {{item:3001}} could also be made to work better as a support tank item to amplify allied mages' damage output. {{item:3174}} could also be updated to grant allies temporary AP when consuming blood charges to heal them. I think those items would open up bot lane diversity, but they could also be purchased after laning to augment the mid-lane mage. The support and marksman combo is naturally powerful together, which is why it's been the meta forever, but that might change with 3 new options specifically to support an allied mage. {{item:3905}} would be the option for supports like {{champion:25}} who deal decent magic damage themselves. {{item:3001}} would be best on support tanks. {{item:3174}} would be the option for enchanters to support bot magic damage carries. If this happened, I would personally take {{champion:10}} {{champion:40}} {{champion:117}} support with {{item:3504}} {{item:3174}} {{item:3905}} {{item:3091}} to support a {{champion:268}} {{champion:17}} {{champion:42}} {{champion:85}} on hit magic damage carry. I'd take {{champion:12}} {{champion:53}} {{champion:201}} {{champion:3}} {{champion:111}} {{champion:57}} with {{item:3001}} and maybe {{item:3905}} {{item:3109}} to protect and engage for a hypercarry or artillery magic damage carry like {{champion:69}} {{champion:30}} {{champion:45}} {{champion:101}} {{champion:34}}{{champion:112}} {{champion:115}} , and I'd CC the enemy so that my mage ally could land skill shots. I'd also take {{item:3050}} on these supports to engage with the team's front liners if it was strong, so that would help spread out the support's strength to help the top/jg players too. {{champion:25}} {{champion:90}} {{champion:9}} would be good counter supports against magic damage carries in bot lane thanks to black shield and silences. {{champion:25}}'s black shield would likely make her the ultimate counter, and she'd also work well supporting all kinds of magic damage carries, so she'd need almost definitely need nerfs with the suggested meta shift.
