I really wish ARAM would get at least 0,5% of attention SR gets

EDIT: Hooooly! Went to cinema & bear with friends for 4~hours, and now I have 43 posts from you guys! Gonna read them all! Our whole attention we get from Riot lasts about 1 week every year when winter sales come. And even then they ignore us, as playerbase. I understand: SR, LCS, Ranked, Lee and Zed are all very important for the future of #1 MOBA game. I'm not trying to destroy this sacred balance. Right now NA players received their Hextech crafting. I was hyped, I really though Riot is slowly giving some skins for "free". And as I was learning what this cool system is, I stumbled on "ARAM games don't count".. Needles to say all of my hype evaporated. I have 3,1k games in ARAM (almost prefect 50/50 split wins-loses). I play only ARAM. I even ARAM while I ARAM. Why ARAM can't have it's own "champion mastery"? Why ARAM can't have it's own "hextech crafting"? Why ARAM doesn't even have Rioter? (Even Dominion had 1... I think..) Why no Rioter wants to talk about ARAM? Is this "too childish" to talk about? I understand that ARAM should be a "fun mode", but it's hard to have fun when you feel like "unwanted child". --- "_**Out of the blue**_" I wonder.. Whenever Morello says about changes or things in general he says: "We believe that..." "We did that..." Who are those "We"? Can we talk with them? Are their voices in changes as important as Meddlers? Do they always agree with changes? Do they work with Riot in Riot HQ? Or are they some 3rd party group hired by Riot to help with balance? (outsorcing). What happen to Phreak? Guinsoo? They used to talk with us so often.. --- Back to topic: Could Riot delegate one Rioter to take charge of ARAM? So we, ARAM players, could have our own place to talk about with someone about stuff like map balance, randomness, bugs, items from other modes, maybe some small updates? Ofcourse that person would need to be active :)

I'm going to jump in here and try to help out. o^_^O **RE Champ Mastery in ARAM:** Champ Mastery was just initially developed and rolled out on SR first (this factors in all the testing, balancing, tuning, etc required to get it working on SR). During this process, it's not that ARAM was "intentionally ignored", but just that SR's workload came first (same goes for Twisted Treeline). As a mostly ARAM player, I'm personally looking forward to having Champ Mastery in ARAM. ^_^ We're currently in the process of customising the Champ Mastery algorithm to accommodate the Rotating Game Mode queue and we want to look at ARAM and Twisted Treeline at the same time if possible. I agree though, it sucks right now while loot has just been launched. **RE Loot in ARAM:** Any mode with Champ Mastery active will also trigger loot chests on the same requirements. This would go for Rotating Game Modes, ARAM & TT, just as it does for SR now. **RE Dedicated Rioter for ARAM:** You're right, we could do a better job at owning non-SR experiences. The goals of SR and non-SR modes are inherently different though, so there won't always be a one-to-one Rioter crossover. EG: there isn't a whole balance team dedicated to just ARAM. I personally play a lot of ARAM (and obviously Featured Game Modes) though and try to jump in where I think I can answer questions or add context. Hey, quick question. I've noticed lately that arams seem to take longer than SR now. Is this just me, or is there data to back that up?

I'm not sure, but I'd be surprised if the "global average ARAM game time" was longer than SR? SR games might have gotten a bit shorter recently which makes ARAM feel longer by comparison? I haven't dug into that specifically though.

Being right doesn't always feels good :( I'd never agree on delegating anyone from Riot to work on balance of ARAM. New summoner spells? Sure I'd love it (thanks for snowball btw my thirds most used spell after flash & barrier), maybe some minor tweaks to map balance (turrets/health relics), but nothing beyond that. I can't use the word "promise", as anything can happen in game dev. :/ I personally think it would be cool though, and there's a positive vibe around it along with Rotating game modes and Twisted Treeline. Our particular team is just focused on the Rotating game modes right now. I still like the idea of unlocking all champs in ARAM (I think it would kill ARAM accounts in one swift stroke). We ended up not pursuing much deeper after that time 2 years ago, but we may be able to revisit it at some point. If you have any ideas for modes/spells/items/etc the boards are the best place for them! :D Rather than some secret inbox for stuff like that, they should live out in the open where everyone can contribute and give feedback. Many Rioters are reading a lot of the boards content too, even if they don't personally jump in.

Just a general question about ARAM: What is Riot thinking about the state of Mark/Dash? Specifically, is there a possibility for it to be removed in the future, or at least an ARAM queue where it isn't availlable? I used to be an ARAM only guy with a few thousand games, but stopped playing when Mark/Dash was introduced. It would be really cool to know if it's worth keeping my hopes up or if Riot thinks it's fine the way it is and I should just move on.

The current Mark/Dash feels like it's in a pretty good place. ARAM's queue health has actually increased since it was introduced. Previously lame-duck champions are now viable picks (which also means lower dodge rates) that you can have a blast on, and it's far from the "100% must pick spell" that first launched. I am all about Udyr on ARAM now. :D

ManWolfAxeBoss used to head up the Alternate Maps team (managing TT/Dom/ARAM health and balance), but he's now occupied with work on SR balance. Have Alternate Maps been folded into the Featured Modes umbrella, does a separate Alternate Maps team still exist, or has Riot simply dropped all of it entirely? I'm asking because there's at least two significant issues that haven't been addressed in months. 1. TT still doesn't have BF Sword enabled. NLR was re-enabled with the Mage itemization update that reduced the price of the item, but that didn't happen with BFS and the Marksman itemization update. Essence Reaver in particular has no counterpart on Treeline. 2. ARAM still has no AP vision item. Twin Shadows, Lightbringer, and Hextech Sweeper used to be the trinity of vision item for magic, physical, and tank preferences, respectively. The removal of Twin Shadows left a gap in trap detection options.

Hey man, Thanks for the write-up. I still do some alternate map stuff and am hoping to do an ARAM pass in the next couple months :) But ya, mostly focused on SR now. 1. What are your hopes with bringing BF Sword to TT? We could do that, but since it's just a component item I can't help but assume it's really the full items you're after. You mention Essence Reaver specifically. Any other item gaps that you feel SR has and TT doesn't? For ER, we chose not to include this item because of the MP5 aura on the map. We felt like it was superfluous and ended up just being a trap. Do you think AD, mana-dependent casters (Ez, Lucian, etc.) are in need of this? 2. Should address this in the ARAM pass :)
