Melee champions should have more damage or tank potential than ranged champions

A melee carry should scale harder than a ranged carry. A melee tank should tank harder than a ranged tank. A melee crowd controller should have better crowd control than a ranged crowd controller. Range gives so much power that it's ridiculous. I do *not* think that ranged champions should do more or similar damage to melee champions when melee champions have to risk their neck to do what the ranged champion does without trying.
