I hate to be like this but I just don't know what to do. I'm always attracted to more balanced champions but if a champion's balanced nowadays it makes them weak due to the fact that they probably don't have any unhealthy game designs to abuse/exploit. I feel like I used to be able to outskill someone in a game but now it just feels like whoever plays the more unhealthy mechanic/design has said unhealthy mechanic/design win the game for them.
I understand that if LoL's gonna be like this, cheese strategies and abusing/exploiting unhealthy game design would technically be the preferred way to go to win games since if you really wanna play skill-expressive, balanced champions you need to be 2 to 3 times better than someone playing unhealthy champions and honestly I just don't know how to feel about that.
Last time I played something like a Mordekaiser, or Zoe, or Nautilus (especially Nautilus in his 'recent' prime) I just can't help but feel like I'm playing the game on easy mode or with cheats and as such just isn't fun or rewarding but at the same time I feel like I'll need to in order to win.
I think it's mainly that when I need to face such champions/mechanics, I'm at the absolute mercy of whoever's playing and sometimes even need to dedicate up to 5 item slots just to survive the game. I know counterplay is a thing, but when counterplay becomes 90% of what you need to do just to survive and only 10% of your gameplay goes to what you would like to do, it's just not fun at all. It's so draining to know that any tiny wrong move or wrong item purchase would permanently render you useless.
I dunno man, I'm just so depressed at the current state of the game. Neither playing unhealthy champions nor needing to put in 3x the effort just to be even is appealing.
