It's a good example of the mentality of today's youth and younger adults. We're all so self-deprecating that the immediate thought isn't that we're good, it's that the opponent was bad. Basically an admittance that no, this was just a good matchup for me. I'm not any good, but you're even worse.
The same goes for saying, "gg ez."
