Hey all, New patch, new memes, and new possibilities for all! Well...except Yasuo, he was probably banned anyway. For everyone else looking to get a fresh start, don't let patching issues get in your way! If you encounter a problem, the steps below should get you moving forward to the next looming Penta! -------------------------------------------------------------- #***Updated Client (Beta Client)*** >*** Error: "League of Legends has encountered a problem. Please re-install League alpha client or try again."*** This issue rears its ugly head if something went wrong in either the updating or the installation process of the Client Update. The solution is to complete a full and clean reinstallation of League by following [**this guide**](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/202539040-Reinstalling-League-of-Legends) to a T. >***My IP Balance in the Store is incorrect*** There have been some issues with the client pulling correct IP balances. Some players have been able to resolve this by launching into the Legacy Client and making a single purchase to resolve this. If this does not work, hit us up in a [**support ticket**](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) and we'll work together to resolve this. >***I toggled the language filter off but still see words too rich for my tastes*** We've seen a few reports of the mature language filter not toggling correctly. It's now possible to disable and enable the filter in-game by typing: **/chatfilter** into the in-game chat. For the more visually inclined, [check out this screenshot](http://i.imgur.com/K92fiCb.png). -------------------------------------------------------------- #***Legacy Client*** >***Files Scanned reaches over 9000!!!!! Or, 15k, 20k, etc*** The patcher needs to scan already installed files to make sure that none of the files are corrupt. If it finds one, it replaces it and rescans the files. This is why it can sometimes get as high as 20k, even though there aren't 20k files in the installation. **The best thing to do is let it scan files!** If you restart the client, it may cause it to scan even more files. The patcher will eventually stop scanning files, and it will patch normally afterward. >***Patcher stops/errors out at 33%, Patcher fails at 99%, or a general "Unspecified Error has occurred" message*** These are usually connection related errors. Either your computer is unable to maintain a stable connection, or a 3rd party security program is blocking League of Legends from properly patching. Hi there, Last few weeks I was not able to play lol, the following happens: 1. With the old client: I can start the launcher, I can login. But when I want to join a game it shuts down and I get to see the client still running and openable untill a meastro error occurs. I get the meastro error if I wait for a while aswell, it wont go away by turning off anti virus, firewall etc. There is an error on the right bottom of my screen, some chinese signs with red lines in it, if I click on it the client opens (after It shut down). 2. With the new client: I can start te launcher, But when I click launch, the logo of league of legends appears in the middle of the screen (as normal), but it stays there and wont go away. It stays there for an eternity. I tried many things like: - restart pc - restart client - uninstall and install again (new and old client) - turn firewall and antivirus off - repair tool of lol and possible some other things I read on pages like this, it wont help. I hoped it would be solved with the new patch, but it didnt. I really ant to try the new sandboxtool u know {{item:3070}} I think it is a sort of connection error and I might even reset my whole pc due to this in the hope it will solve it. I noticed strange behaving on internet aswell, something that looked liek a redirection virus, idk if it can be related or whatever. Hope can you guys can help me! u are my last hope. Already thanks! I click lauch, and get an error from bugsplat, then the logo appears and stays there for ever. In the background League of Legends (32-bits) is running, if I shut it down the logo disappears ofcourse. If I restart the client when League of legends (32-bits) is still running in the background it wont even ask if I want to determine the programm. (New client)

I think I won't be able to solve it, I can send a support ticket with logs if that might clear things up.

This 004 error can happen when you network is failing to stay connected to the patching servers and grab updates. Getting a black screen (just over the client, except the chat/friends section) and a 20 second delay on my champion select in blind pick. It's essentially guaranteeing that I can't choose my preferred position.

I do not understand. I have had issues for my client before all cause of the new client. I'm following up with you, since we've had more info come in on this. This issue is currently a [*known issue*](http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/help-support/MihNFhcV-hot-issue-black-screen-during-champion-select-beta-client) in the Beta Client that happens specifically in the transition between the lobby and champion select. It sounds like there could be an issue with either your config or mouse itself. Try resetting your config to see if that works. Log into the game client. Navigate to C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config Delete the file named **game.cfg** and **persistedsettings.json** Go into a custom game and verify that settings have saved properly. Leave game to sync settings. Let me know if that works.

Since this patch, each time I join into champion select the loading time is very slow. I am on the new client and as soon as i start joining a champion select, the screen will black out for 20-30 seconds before resuming back to normal. This is very frustrating as in ranked games, I've lost LP and almost my platinum promos due to not being able to ban in time.

Since Poro is away, I'll follow up with you. What you're experiencing is not a bug related to the patch. It seems your PC isn't able to establish a clear connection to our game servers. While you may have a good connection to some sites and services, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a great connection to our servers. This is because every service you access online hosts servers in different geolocations, therefore your network routing to all of those servers is fairly different. I'd like you to work through our [**connection guide**](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752664-Troubleshooting-Connection-Issues) to ensure you aren't running a problematic network setting that would cause a conflict with League. Please let me know if you continue to experience issues connecting to matches after working through those steps.

This new patch is literally unplayable. Every time I enter champion select my screen goes black for 10-20 seconds and I can't pick my champion. Hm, so I queued up for a game and then got the pop up, after i accepted I went straight to champion select but however my client was just all black and i could do anything, so after from what i'm guessing not being able to lock in as the screen was black, it went back to the lobby which then i had to wait 5 minutes and the it happened again and this time i decided to repair the client in order to try solve the problem, and the most unfortunate thing is that i lost overall 13 LP and a penalty of 30 minutes because of this bug or whatever is is...

I'm having trouble in game where my game will randomly freeze and the only thing that will work is my cursor. The only way that I have been able to fix it is to use Control+Alt+Delete to get to switch user and then log back in, the only problem is that I get banned for 30 min for leaving the game. Game works perfectly. You update it, now all of a sudden every time I try to play a game my computer freezes. And now I'm on ban for AFK again. I didn't go AFK, you broke the game and now it doesn't work and you're gonna punish me for it? This is at least the second time this has happened and I'm not doing a third. Are you running into an error during patching or is something else going on? There are a lot of factors that go into upload and download bandwidth, including your personal bandwidth, ISP limits, and the upload bandwidth allocated by our patching servers. This means that while your upload speed in your home network may be *capped* at let's say... 40 Mbps, you may only see 5 Mbps. Also keep in mind that MB/s and Mbps are two different numbers, [**calculated differently**](http://www.attinternetservice.com/resources/mbps-vs-mbps/). This will also affect what speeds you'll see when grabbing files from a server outside your home network. If you have any questions, let me know.

My update to the new beta went just fine... until its actually time to play a round. I can enter champ select, change runes and masteries, then when it is supposed to go into the loading screen, I just have black. Can only get one chest per champ. It resets after a while so you can get another chest for them but idk how often. You know you will be able to get a chest for a specific champion by followijg these steps. Before you queue up for a game go to the collection tab at the top of the client. Go to champions. If the champion you would like to get a chest with has a grayed out icon than you can not get a chest with them at the moment. Its important to note this works with the updated client only and i do not know how to check it for the old client.

You can only earn a chest **once** with each champion each season. This means that if you had 4 chests available and earned an S- grade on Master Yi for both games, you'll only earn **one chest**. I'd also like to report another bug in my wuthraw account in Lan, while i was playing i died 3 times just after that the laptop ran out of battery so i quickly started to turn it on to reconnect, in the mean time i was in skype with my friend that was playing in the game, so after it turned on i tried to reconnect opening the client normally but it would just say that "the match is on course" so i waited for aroung 2 minutes after it didnt open i closed it normally knowing this i tried opening it normally again and once again the same problem with the match on course happened so i tried to close it with the task administrator in order to close anything even if it was in the background and i couldn't open, once again i tried reconnecting but it wouldn't, aroung 5 min after that the match ended and i got reported and leave buster just because the game would simply just no open for me, thanks for reading now pls do something.

Besides the black champ select issue I had (which I won't reiterate because it's clearly a common issue), I also had a HUGE drop in fps. My usual speed before this patch was around 70 fps, but after I downloaded the patch, it was at 7. At first I thought it was just some background things I was running, but it turned out that wasn't the case. I went and turned off every other non essential program and function on my computer, ran the troubleshooter, dropped the video settings as low as possible, pushed League to top priority in Task Manager, even turned off the sound and made the game run in a non full screen format. Still, I had to struggle through a game at 15 fps just so I didn't get a temp ban. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
