2018 Lore Tournament - 11th December: Stone Cold vs. Hunter of Shadows

Awww.** #2018 Lore Tournament: Day 6 Welcome to day 6 of the 2018 [Lore Tournament](https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/NElv7TLw-megathread-2018-lore-tournament)! Holy petricite! Yesterday's matchup was close! I mean, I love _all the stories_ for what they bring, but those two were remarkably well matched. Is someone scripting this like Worlds? ;) Kidding! Yesterday's stories were pretty creepy, but today we have tales of courage and bravery! Whether the courage of a young boy, or a grizzled man - whether facing off against mysterious magic or screeching spirits - both have memories of a loved one that keeps them strong. And to me, they are both, in their own ways, precious cinnamon buns who must be protected (yeah, even Lucian). --- https://i.imgur.com/MN1hEYq.jpg[/img] [Stone Cold](https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/nunu-color-story/) _by David Slagle_ Brave heroes Nunu and Willump follow a heart-song, seeking to find their way home. One of the verses mentioned this village. ##vs https://i.imgur.com/vjfgxhM.jpg[/img] [Hunter of Shadows](https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/lucian-color-story/) _by Anthony Reynolds Lenné_ A young woman in an overrun inn tries ineffectually to fire a weapon. Lucian recalls how he had once similarly struggled. ---- Both stories deal with memories of a loved one, and how they are driven forwards by them (I didn't plan this - it's just a happy accident) but the nature of those memories are different. Which of them speaks to you more deeply - which makes you _feel_ in the middle of your chest for our heroes. It's tragic (like the situations of our lovely Champs) that both can't 'win' but in my view, they both succeed at making me understand what drives these people a little more. So, that's neat. Do you think that's neat? :)
