: Why does the new Jhin skin have "cosmic" instead of "star"
He was once a cosmic being like Ashe and Lulu but he got corrupted by the dark star. So he became a Dark Cosmic being.

: Long post ahead, feel free to skip, I'm about to criticize lol lore as a whole. The lore as it is doesn't work, because there is no continuity: everytime there is a rework or a new champion, the previous lore gets scrapped or retconned, while older champions' stories are left in the dust, until their rework comes. The result is a colourful patchwork, with an ever-shifting shape. What about the darkin? they first were supposed to be divine aspects (aatrox as a god of war), then became demons and finally became corrupted ascended. While their origin changes, their story leads nowhere, we know nothing about what they're up to right now, everything seems so disconnected that I wonder if the champions even live in the same world anymore. The darkin never got to interact with each other. It's like there's an event that vaguely links champions togheter (an ancient conflict against the void, the fall of Shurima), but then there is nothing else after that and everything is left unfinished. I've begun to think that there is no real direction in lore, because there is no lore at all: Riot works on lore only when a champion or a rework is about to come live, they "update", that is, they butcher old champions' stories to make room for the new entry and then leave everything be. You can see the trend with Sion's new bio. When I looked at Sion's rework I would see a story that shaped a character. Riot created a solid starting plot, leaving hints (would Sion ever discover the truth about the "grand general"?) but then completely scrapped them recently, and that story has no meaning now, because Sion got retconned out of nowhere and he has no links with boram darkwill anymore. Now sion is a generic warlord from past times. Why? Because Riot needed to create a "tribal-background" for Runeterra to make reworked Mordekaiser's story fit in. It would be nice to have some kind of continuity, like conflicts, alliances, deaths and discoveries, but unfortunately, we'll never know how the story goes, because these stories are created for a release, ready to be butchered and re-stitched some time later. I'll leave you another example, so you can think about it: who is Poppy? How does she fit in the recently xenophobic Demacia? What's her role? When writing about new demacian events, Riot completely forgot about Poppy and now her lore makes no sense and stands as a relic of past times: completely left in the dust. We're also left in a dusty limbo and we'll never get to see how the stories go.
Finally, someone here sees the things for what they really are.
: And there shouldn't be personal emotions when it comes to a multi-billion company.
Literally doesn't matter if they do it with pleasure or not. it's their job. LOL. And no if they actually cared about it they would have kept their word and just removed the summoners and preserve as much as they can. But no Shy's father doesn't exist why because they wanted to.
: There's such a thing as blindly following too.
Oh, no sweetie only yes, yes and yes no complaints and critique.

: Can't really say that Kai'sa being a perfectly healthy model after living for years in caverns underground at the doors of the Void sounds right to me either, but Jax isn't even close to being an Ascended, he isn't even human, and fled Icathia as soon as all hell break loose, so he didn't really get to spend half the time that Darkin did dancing with The Void
I mean compared to killing people and wanting existence to end altogether sounds a lot worse than just having a cool bodysuit a perfect face and superpowers.

Because we want them as shurimans don't ask questions. is literally what they did... think you've read all there is to read about the void... you have your answer And having a bird, snake or bull's head should not be very fun after 2000 years I too will have tried to look more human and "badass"
LOL, I mean please Kai'sa here having no problem after living with it underground for years... And those God-warriors... plus Jax was there with them and he doesn't look like a red clown killing and destroying everything...
: Yeah, none of it really made sense, and it just made the world more circular and closed off too many potentials, while overusing already overused ideas. Like really? The godlike Ascended starting fighting for power AFTER the death of Azir, the "spineless" human emperor of Shurima? Like if their egos were inflated to the point where they went ballistic after his death, why did a human, who wasn't ascended at the time, prevent them from usurping the throne and trying to conquer Shurima long before that?
What always intrigued me about the league lore and what essentially got me into the lore is the mystery behind some characters and the wide world they all together formed. But recently its all going the other way around. First. Did we really need to know everything about the ancient spooky race known as Darkin? No, it destroys the whole point behind it. : Same, I think that them being otherworldly beings shut out of their homeworld after the war made for much better story telling than them being arrogant god-dicks who got drunk with power.
Even if they a god-like ancient race nothing to do with shurima. I would have liked it I assume. The thing that really left a poor taste in my mouth is that they didn't even try to explain or give reasons to why the glorious holy ascendants went from that to mad killers that want to destroy and kill literally everything . : Overall what did you all think of the Darkin Lore Update?
After a whole year, I'm ok about them being just Shuriman ascendants, since I lost all interest in them. I much preferred them as some separate ancient race rather than some ascendants with dumb reasonings to go mad and red, lol. I'm okay with Varus and Rhaast but I absolutely despise Aatrox. He is just a joke.
: Tumblr post about Prestige Arcade Caitlyn nearing 50k notes
this is not the first time this happened lol.
: So I remembered Zed's comics...
You are making me even more scared... We should make a post begging Riot to say no if they are not revealing his face... Just so we aren't in this prison.
: What's up with the Body Proportions in these new Arcade skins?
It would have been great if it was just the arcade skins...
: Who do you want to see featured on PROJECT and Star Guardian Skins for this year?

I like it but it's just staying in one place T_T are we seriously going to the progression they promised only in the zed/jhin comic. {{sticker:zombie-nunu-tears}}

With how many undead and augment people there are it's safe to say Kindred isn't doing the best of jobs.
They come at the last moment, while the whole shadow isles are in a repeating cycle... And also Kindred came for Mordekaiser once or 2 times?
: While I do agree that if they stopped making music OUTRIGHT for the game, it would make alot of people unhappy. However I don't think they're willing to kill that department off. Riot's Sound Team has created beautiful pieces of Music over the years (Jhin's Theme for example, is a complete Masterpiece) & they get ALOT of praise for it. They'll most likely upload any of their future music to places like Youtube & Soundcloud.
I'll okay with that even tho I'm mad about the login animations but now there is literally no reason to do it sadly... But if they stop doing music, oh boy...
: So Mordekaiser Could BeThe Strongest Being?
: [Discussion]: SLC- Ups and Downs
They should at least upload them on youtube if they are not going into the client. Otherwise, they are just begging to be hated.
: We need a massive VU overhaul for old champs
Sadly they don't give a single fuck about anything that is not gameplay, skins or esports.
: Then we would all expect that you have never and will never criticize or say anything negative about League, video games, movies, music, food, sports, or really anything because as you said, you can just not use them. I on the other hand say it's fine for people to criticize monetization methods and give consumer feedback.

: The reaction to this decision by Riot is so laughably predictable that there's only 2 options here: 1. Riot is incompetent 2. Riot simply doesn't care and is more interested in quick cash grabs Take your pick
: The new arcade skins are cool but Xerath hasn't had a skin since 2015
BUT Kai'sa didn't get a skin in 2 minutes. Please get in line.

the irony of advancing the client without actually fixing it in the first place. lol

She is Evelynn. {{sticker:sg-kiko}}
: Imagine Riot coming up with an original idea in 2019.
: It’s almost like people shouldn’t be knee jerking about designs until they get all of the info.
The info we got now does literally nothing to the plain smite design. lol
: I mean, the only thing that could convince me right now that they are willing to make the story progress, is that they killed {{champion:517}} in the {{champion:99}} comic. Make his revolution take place, him working on the countryside to gain followers before organizing a final assault in the city capital of Demacia, and then make him die. Done. He still would have an important role in the overall story, shaking the foundations of Demacian philosophy about mages and magic, but he would be done once the revolution was crushed. No need for him to continue in the storyline, making him some kind of Magneto. His job is done, and so is his plot. End it there.
It would be a perfect first death if Sylas died. Their affords aren't lost since there wasn't much in the first place and second if would progress the story and add the element of death and consequence to the world.
Andevar (NA)
: Why would one of them dying mean anything? This game is not related to the lore directly in the sense that if a champ dies in lore, they cease to exist in game. The fact that the game is called League of Legends imply that the champions are legends. Legends don’t have to be alive for the game to keep them in.
Exactly! I want characters to die. It raises the tension and the weight of the situations. But I'm pretty sure they will never do it... I mean they barely can continue a plotline without retconning...
: Confusing details about Lore and the world of League
And more confusion will come when they just add more and more without any explanation. Wait until Pantheon confuses us even more.
Vox569 (NA)
: Jinx music video was so good
That whole thing is hands down the best release they have done. The build-up with the graffiti on Cait Vi and Jayce's pages, then the wanted posters ah back in the day when Riot cared.
: Can the Boards stop talking of esports like the boggey man ?
Oh, definitely yeah, when they shut down the boards to redirect their resources.
: Much bigger problem is that with the many retcons and reworks we had, cynical part of me imagines by the time we get to some older left-open plotline it'll become obsolete and will be rectonned and changed. But that's just to be cynical, I hope they know what they're doing.
That's literally what happened with The Frejlord from 2013. {{sticker:zombie-nunu-bummed}}
JackMcCarry (EUNE)
: The plot cant advance because nothing of actual impact can happen. The most that has ever happened is GP being disabled for a few days in the burning tides event, which was very cool but also annoying for GP players. Killin off main characters would make it weird playing a "dead" champion for people who actually read lore, everyone who mains a champion looks at the world through their champion's story, so you cant really have a "main" hero and "expendables".
Not having the main character is the best thing a writer can get...
Ifneth (NA)
: And so many other things can’t even be advanced because of where the plot has already gone; e.g., Taliyah is already in Shurima and would have to retcon a ‘ship into her plot to be with her crush Ekko.
That is a problem as well. Because they started so so many things are going to be abandoned for years. The bigger plot lines I listed are going to be frozen for obvious reasons. But other ones that aren't world-changing event are still abandoned and that is what sucks. Caitlyn and C? Leona following Diana to Ionia? Vayne's search for Eve? The whole Piltover and Zaun plotline? Kayn and Rhaast? The Darius comic questions? LOL and then when they over-cramped the lore the retcon nukes will be fired once again.
: I WAS THINKING THAT SHE SEEMS A LITTLE TOO CLOSE TO DANY...
Hmm. She seems more of a Cersei to me.
: They've set Qiyana up to grow.
We can say the same thing for almost half of the champions that we have today... But the consistency
Rioter Comments
: Don't worry. She'll probably get some horrible disease, die, and take her city with her because she ignored the very clear warning from her parents. Gods only know what fucking diseases the people of Piltover carry. Not only do they have their own diseases, they're a huge trade hub, so they probably got some diseases from Ionia and other places they trade with as well. Plus whatever the fuck Zaun has. Qiyana will eventually see the consequences of her actions. She'll probably win, but at what cost? Her empire would most likely end up ravaged by war and disease, probably ending up as all but extinct. I very seriously doubt that's the empire she wants to rule.
All of that would have happened if this was game of thrones.
: Are all the plotlines going anywhere?
Well no, and the direction that they are headed with creating more and more and more plotlines it's going literally nowhere. Is Morde really going to invade? No. Because if he does invade it's over. Are Azir and Xerath going to clash against each other? No, because if they do one of them has to die. Will Aurelion be free from Targon? No, because if he is freed it's over for Targon. Things will remain frozen until a retcon comes...
: How many people are Mordekaiser?
Honestly, with Riot we don't know today, we might think it's just him tomorrow there is a whole race under Demacia that controls the heavens and the void together.
: So is Qiyana a villain?
When I first heard about the idea behind her lore I got interested and had some hope that the lore would be interesting for her at least. But...
: Did you read about the region? The jungles are vicious.
I mean we have here Mordekaiser bending death like play dough but somehow no one literally no one survived or went through the jungles...
Naalith (NA)
: If you read At The Edge of the World it will give you a good idea as to why the jungles are so impenetrable. Even before Zyra was born the entire region (at least on the outer edges) is so thick with deadly creatures and walls of trees and vines that it is basically impossible to get in. I don't find it too hard to believe that if people can't even get through the outer edge, there is no way they would find the small inner cities deep inside the jungle. Clearly some people like Ezreal and LeBlanc know the cities still exist and are ripe with magical artifacts though, even if they haven't stumbled upon currently populated temples.
Idk, but still 0 mentions or hints that something of that size might exist hidden in the jungles...If it was a smaller group like a tiny city or a village it would be understandable but a whole nation with gigantic buildings...
Jaspers (EUW)
: True, then hidden. Although, the history of Runeterra is a little muddled sometimes and messy. Libraries have been destroyed and such alike. I would presume most of those who knew anything long since died out so history lost with them.
That's understandable but still, people are on that continent and Piltover is just there also Bilgewater and somehow no one knew that a whole elemental nation existed that is not even trying to hide... Ehh
