: >Must be players having out of date anti-virus and poor passwords! Couldn't possibly be a data breach at Riot! You realize multiple things can contribute to leaked data, right? Keyloggers, viruses, and other malware exists to seize your login information. Poor passwords can be brute forced. I also doubt Riot Games had any sort of data breach since [**I'm pretty sure companies are legally required to inform affected users of such an event.**](https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/data-breach-response-guide-business) Of course, I'm not a business expert and I could be wrong on this front, but I seriously doubt there was a data breach and _nobody_ is talking about it. >It might be a good idea to just do a full 10 minute review of your entire LoL account every day. Riot could do several things to improve security but won't because they don't care and take their lack of caring "very seriously." If you want to talk about account security and what Riot can do better, that's fine. I'm just trying to spread some awareness and keep people from getting their accounts jacked. If you don't have anything constructive to offer and are just going to respond to everything with exaggerated scenarios (such as daily 10 minute account scans which are completely unnecessary), I'm not interested in responding further. >Yes, we should ignore that websites like Mobalytics might help determine publicly the date of the first match and help make a determination when the account creation date might be. That's why Riot support asks _multiple_ questions when responding to account recovery tickets. They don't just ask for information like account creation date which people _might_ be able to figure out if they put in enough effort. >Also someone that has compromised an account to the extent they can play matches on it couldn't possibly know what skins are owned by the account. Out of curiosity, what does clicking on "Collection" -> "Skins" show again? Except that information is only available to the person who is already in the account? And who's going to be filing the recovery ticket? That's right, the person who's locked **out** of the account. If your account was compromised, _you're_ the one who's going to be filing the recovery ticket, not the hacker. When that recovery ticket is filed, there are multiple steps to the process such as e-mail verification or by sharing confidential information only the account owner could know. Again, more sarcastic comments, not interested in continuing this conversation because you're incapable of being civil. >But remember, keep anti-virus up to date because that way Riot doesn't have to acknowledge there should be anything they should change on their side! Also run Windows Update since that also will change nothing about Riot's attitude towards 2FA or easy access to last login information! >Happy mass account compromise month! Here is hoping to Riot changes nothing and October can be record breaking! >Thanks for the heads up Hotarµ! I'm glad you got our back. >Such joy and wonderfully insecure gaming experience -- GLHF! Oh, please. Spare me the theatrics and stop acting like Riot is the only person who could be at fault in this scenario. Yes, there are a lot of things they could do better regarding account security, _however_, acting like you shouldn't be doing **your** part is just foolish. Keyloggers and other malware _can_ result in your information being leaked. Having a poor password _can_ result in it being guessed or brute forced. Not updating your recovery information _can_ result in losing your account entirely due to a hacker or manual account lock. Doesn't matter how good or bad Riot's security system is, those are **universal** mistakes people make across every game and they should be aware of it. I'm just trying to help some people out. If you aren't going to be helpful, move on.

: Isn't ARURF on PBE right now though? Gonna skip that?
To be perfectly honest, I don't mind URF in any version, but it's not my preferred RGM. I rate both Ascension and Poro King way higher than URF. Also, there is an extreme level of toxicity in URF. "Pick Zed or else!", "Pick Akali or you're stupid!". That sort of thing. Not to mention the excessive mastery emote spamming or bragging if anyone gets an OP champion like Fizz, Shaco, or any beforementioned assassin. I play RGMs to have fun; not like it's streamed online with a Million bucks in it to the winner. So while I will play it, I already know I won't enjoy it.

They managed to make some 102 episodes (that I know of) of the original, whichever way they made it, so this new one is rather down on excuses 30 years later. Well, yes, they're drawn on computers. That's just how the industry has progressed. They're still not models that can be rigged in the manner that 3D animation uses, though. They can just modify parts of the previous frame rather than flipping back and forth to duplicate the entire thing by hand, but keeping things simple still saves a lot of per-frame time and effort. Bear in mind I'm still in agreement with you that the 80s series was superior in style and wish they'd skewed closer to that. I *really* loathed the "stylized" (intentionally ugly art) cartoon trend of the late 90s/early 00s. This guy analyzed the animation from a preview video, which apparently made one of the animators nervous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lTXdsvxeI0 > So while I enjoy the story in this revamp, and the resolution and technical quality right down to the sound effects is far greater than the original, I cannot view this as in any way related to the original due to the art style. The weird thing is, another reason for the art style which has been repeated by a lot of reviews and interviews is that they were influenced by the old Carl Barks Scrooge comics and paintings. I'm still having a hard time buying that completely. I've seen Barks art, and it's not really close. Compared to the first Ducktales cartoon, it's simplistic. The current cartoon looks intentionally moreso. Barks drew the ducks' heads more spherically, and the kids always had smaller eyes than the adults. Now their heads look like rounded off squares with larger than anime eyes. As for the "original" and lore accuracy, some of the references are more accurate than the first Ducktales. For instance, Glomgold wasn't Scottish until Ducktales made him so. This series addresses that.

I don't remember where he was off-hand, but I do seem to recall Scrooge helping Glomgold when he was tied down to an ox as punishment for attempted theft, and in return he stole everything Scrooge had while he was sleeping, right down to the campfire itself. They were both young then though. Come to think of it, it definitely wasn't Scotland. Also, that Don Rosa series came long after the original Ducktales series. So do feel free to ignore everything I've just written. ^^ _Okay, I need to go - brain's definitely not functioning properly right now..._

While I refuse to accept the art style, I think I can easily enjoy this thing. Thank you for insisting on this. :) That was my early gripe when I saw the previews before the series premiered. Compared to the first series, I hate the simplified art style. However, it does seem to lend itself to dynamic visuals (e.g., the rotating perspective in the intro), possibly because of the less intricate style. I still dislike the style, but love *almost* everything else about it. They really hit certain things that you'd never expect (when Jamaree mentioned lore accurate portrayals... well, Glomgold in particular almost hung a lampshade on something nobody thought Disney would ever address). Dewey is probably going to bug me for the duration of the series, but literally every other character gets to distract me from that. Donald isn't even just the whipping boy. They give him some great moments of non-accidental competence.

I mean, I personally like the game a bit too much to just quit because of one decision I massively disagree with, so I guess you must no be very invested in this game, if you could quit so easily. I can easily just not buy skins if I had a falling out with Riot, which would mean I would just be taxing their servers without giving them any money. : im surprised the boards hasnt blown up with this yet
There has been a lot of it. About a month ago. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/riot-official/v9Umj8ch-faq-eternals-coming-in-patch-917 https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/XKENUckG-me-riot-finally-fixed-death-recap-thats-great-but-why-now And as for the EAternal$...the old client recorded the same things https://i.imgur.com/25EvZVf.png[img] ...for free.
: Same here, I miss having in client stats and it loading within 2 seconds of clicking too. Tft has been rather unstable though that could be more of a server issue here. Can't say I've glanced at task manager during a game to check that, but I'm not surprised either; ever since the forced client 'upgrade' it's been a cpu sink, just reminds me why the old one was unquestionably better.
No need to be ingame to play the CPU usage mini-game - being in the _client_ is enough; switch from main profile window to the TFT tab with Task Manager open. And yes, they hadn't changed the system requirements from this game in ages...but when the new client gets released *****BOOM !!***** higher minimum requirement on the CPU. Of course, only after a couple years and raised voice on the matter. Easier to get away by claiming ignorance than actually code the game properly to optimize, I guess. And as far as I know, ONLY the CPU requirement was increased. Funny, as the new client is based on Chromium, which isn't at all known to be a resource sink since day 1... You've read about the latest, yeah? The Eternals, aka EAternal$, which they have already completely ruined the champion list GUI for? Speaking of the old client, it offered plenty of stat-tracking built-in, simply through their API. https://i.imgur.com/25EvZVf.png[img] ...And all for completely free. And now Tencent wants 850 RP for each champion for the same. Also, the old client not only offered smoother logins, but also _custom_ login screens. Something a Red once said would be a shame if they went to waste, as not only had effort gone into all the logins screens (music and graphics), but also that people enjoyed older logins. I am actually concerned that so many people even seem interested in them, given what they offer and they have to pay for them. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/MjrsLTba-eternals-feedback-thread-set-1-unique ...Not to mention my concern of what EAternal$ will break in return when they are released. Mission tracking for sure (as everything does), but what else? :/
: I'd have to agree, it sounds more like some pr damage control than a promise they'll follow-through with. Particularly because they admitted in the same paragraph they're still prioritizing the 'pro' events over community implementations until next year. And as others have already mentioned across reddit, tft & the base launcher are still buggy messes that repeatedly drop players, yet they won't expand customs because they're unstable.
Aye, and this is before we get to the optimization issues within the client and game itself. Whenever I get ingame now, the first time I open the ingame shop, I get a 3-4 second screen freeze (began happening a few patches ago). And as for TFT...if I drop (to be fair, only happened once to me), the champion trait bonus list on the left side disappears, with no way of restoring it. Not a big thing, but an annoying and frankly unnecessary one. Also, have you tried opening the in-client TFT tab with Task Manager Performance tab on top? It made for an amusing mini-game not long ago, with who got the highest increase in CPU load when switching from the main profile window to the TFT tab. I got a roughly 10 % increase on an OCed 3770K. EDIT: CPU usage total: 21,8 % CPU usage, League.exe (TFT tab): 19,8 % CPU usage, League.exe (main profile): 7,8 %
: Ask Riot: Events and Game Modes
Custom game modes...I remember you saying the "new" Beta client was made specifically (as a part of it) with rotating game modes in mind. And as for "buggy custom games crashing servers"...seems to me the servers manages to crash perfectly fine on their own (Crash™, and apparently other game breaking bugs), even without any custom game mode being available at all. You want to earn my trust back - and who knows, maybe even the trust of my wallet - you have to do way, WAY better than that! EDIT: Poro King for Christmas is a given to the point where we shouldn't even have to ask for it. More mission tracking...well, every time there is an event - or even non-related gameplay change or simple client GUI change - the mission tracking breaks. As far as "coded from the ground-up" goes (your words when the new client was in Alpha), it's disappointing to still see such severe cases of spaghetti. The breaking of non-connected objects means interlaced code; multiple things intertwined with a part of a code for something else - yes, this makes the code and ultimately the size of the game smaller, but also makes it hugely susceptible to problems. Come on, we're not playing a mobile game here (Tiltover's Finest Tactics excluded), and we are now in 2019, so please, forget the toasters (storage space is basically free anyway, and SSDs are finally cheaper than HDDs) and make this game great again! CODE IT PROPERLY!

"Brb, imma be collecting chims in enemy jungo." ~ {{champion:432}}
: Because it's skin+Border+All chromas+Icon, not just a border. Icon is 250, skin is 1350, chromas are 290 a piece (total 2320). Cost is 3,920 before the border.
Such a logic would be acceptable if there was a cost attached one the product was finished, i.e. some assembly line required to keep making copies of the same product. But there's not - this is digital content, and as such, once something is made, it's made. No further development or prodution costs involved. If they lowered the cost of the product, more people would buy it. Quantity sales ups the income, not constantly pumping out overpriced products which only a few are willing to pay for.
: Why are skin borders more expensive than damn ultimate skins?
I remember buying the "Master Elementalist Lux bundle" back in 2016...for 3950 RP. An Ultimate skin (3250 RP) bundle, with everything in it. The skin itself, border, 11 icons and ward skin. For 3950 RP now I can get an Epic skin (1350 RP), with a border, an icon, some Chromas and a ward skin. How the times have changed...
: TFT Coaching | Grandmaster 150LP | Helping you to improve
Is there indeed much strategy to speak of in TFT? Only tactical element I have found is the positioning. While it is unknown who you will be matched against at any given stage, it seems to me you'll get matched with against players around the same amount of HP at any given time. Even if it's not so, studies can be done on the other players' setup, and position accordingly against the majority of whatever the others have done. This is simple math. The actual gameplay is pretty much medieval warfare: Cavalry at the front (knights); footmen in the middle (fighters) and archers at the back (ADCs/mages). This is simple logic. The only unknown element is the RNG, which the game mode is so aptly named after: Tiltover's Finest Tactics. The rest - items, income/interest gains and champion bonuses - is also rather simple to figure out and utilize effectively. However, the very concept of the mode disinterest me in ways I didn't think possible, precisely due to the lack of intellectual challenges. By all means, people are free to enjoy it, but I refuse to believe it is actual skill involved in achieving a high rank in this mode.

: I can't remember the last time I ever bought a game on DAY 1
>I can't remember the last time I ever bought a game on DAY 1 I do! It was SpellForce, back in November 2003! Best damn RPG/RTS game I've ever played! It's poorly balanced and it has its bugs, but the story is good and the graphics are just the way I like them: Slightly outdated. And a good story and good gameplay is all I need to enjoy any game. I had to google Astral Chain...it is a Nintendo Switch game, yeah? Looked it up on Youtube for some gameplay footage, and it had a futuristic Final Fantasy feel over it. Doesn't look like something for me though (I'm enjoying Dying Light: The Following these days), but good thing there is something for everyone and that you're having fun with it. :)
: Hey! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You're not being ignored and this isn't being lost in the depths of the boards :) Let me make sure I'm understanding you correctly - When you say we're moving away from teasers, what kinds are you referring to? In-game easter eggs on PBE? A video teaser before we show the gameplay trailer? For every champion, we (the publishing team) think about the best way to intro the champion to players. It's not something we decide lightly - we spend a lot of time talking and planning. Sometimes we do something that doesn't work, which feels bad. But we try to remember those learnings. [Yuumi](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZWEV3bACZo) and [Qiyana](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVuWMbmHEWw) did have champion teasers that came out before the main gameplay trailer. To shed some light on that process, we spent a lot more time and resources on those videos (esp. the 3D intros of the [Qiyana](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cttriTiPjuU) and [Yuumi](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZWEV3bACZo) Trailer) than we have in our past champ videos.. and I think the overall quality surpasses a lot of the stuff we showed in the past (besides the million $ CGs of course). We didn't do an in-game Easter Egg for Yuumi and Qiyana, but that doesn't mean it's off the table! In fact, we have one in the works... The point is that we're going to work on cool stuff that we think you'll like to see and it won't always be the same every time. For the login screens, yeah the loss of login screens really sucks. Part of it is out of my control. Like, you won't actually be able to see them anymore with the new client. That doesn't mean we gave up. We asked, what do people like about the login screens? An answer we got was that they really brought the champion and the thematic to life. Esp. with the awesome music. So for Pantheon, we created a [Champion Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Zub8agQjrw) that showed off more of the love we put into the art behind-the-scenes, and how the champion came to life over time. Over some really dope music. Do people like it more than the old login screen videos we did? I dunno, it depends on your taste :P But the point is, we're going to keep experimenting with ways on how we reveal our stuff in a meaningful way.

If I may ask...a CG video, something like A New Dawn (great video btw.), what does it cost to make something like that? Are we really talking a Million USD? >We asked, what do people like about the login screens? An answer we got was that they really brought the champion and the thematic to life. As for logins...I simply enjoyed the old client in this respect, where I could revert to any older login at will. Quinn's login was lovely. Her theme was so calm, I often even forgot to actually log in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZ61j3SxQPA Not to mention we could use [custom ones](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKGwUxJ9YSo). I even taught myself enough Adobe Premiere to make my own .flv login screens (like the above video as a functional login screen)...less than 3 months prior to the removal of the old client and use of any such logins. :/

JuiceBoxP (EUNE)
: Does anyone actually get enough orange essence to redeem skins?
Yeah...with enough time. Like, 3 months to get a single skin. _Disenchanting every skin I don't like, and useless champion shards from the weekly chests taken into account as well._ I currently got 15 Epic skins (1350 RP) sitting [in my inventory](https://boards.eune.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-en/qk6uW7EA?comment=00000002), and I got PROJECT: Pyke in a free chest 2 days ago (Legenaries do NOT auto-redeem, to clarify for everyone). And I don't expect to be able to unlock all of them for another 2 years. If only chests were available for event tokens as well. They charge 180 tokens for 3 keys, and with chests being priced the same in the store, they should make them available as well. I already got 9 keys just sitting there, with no use at all.

Riot is just generous like that! Which is why the death recap can fortunately be moved out of the way (seriously, I stopped using it with the new one - it's worse than the old one). Also, when it reads "3279 damage dealth in 0,00 seconds", I know something is off. And it's Tencent Holding btw. China's answer to EA. Hence the more appropriate name EAternal$.
: Bet cha it was their intention from the start just to make the lowered price seem more reasonable
That's a PROPER EA strategy!
: I'm failing to understand what your post is referring to... They're going to have common Eternals for buying with Blue Essence(the free points you get just by playing the game) through the Emporium. Which is nice since there's nothing, as an older player with all of the champions, for me to buy so I'm just accumulating huge amounts of BE for nothing.
Okay, to be blunt: Do we agree the EAternal$ are just glorified stat-trackers? And if so, do you remember the old client? https://i.imgur.com/25EvZVf.png[img] It offered plenty of stat-tracking built-in, simply through their API.
: This doe seem better than the original at the very least. And I like that you can buy them for BE occasionally. As an older player still sitting on 100k or more of BE, I like the option of having more to spend it on.
Except the old client offered what you can buy with BE for completely free. ...Just some food for thought.

: I see people talking about how Eternals cost 850 RP for one champ, but no one talking about the cost to buy Eternals for every champ. Though I can't imagine anyone would buy Eternals for every single champ, its the principle. -But basically, to buy Eternals for every champion at the current moment it would cost a staggering 246,500 RP, or $1643.33. Just let that sink in. For 3 basic achievements that many champs share 2 of, costs that much. Riot what are you doing, I'm disappointed but not surprised
Allow me to contribute to that, and put things in perspective: > [{quoted}](name=Pùls,realm=NA,application-id=Ag8jgd8Q,discussion-id=v9Umj8ch,comment-id=00a6,timestamp=2019-08-20T03:17:07.496+0000) > >But basically, to buy Eternals for every champion at the current moment it would cost a staggering 246,500 RP, or $1643.33. Meanwhile, the cost of every champion (as of Yuumi's release) is 112.920 RP (or 564.600 BE). 770 USD. So collecting some simple data for a champion costs, on average, more than twice as much as the champion itself. It's disgusting to see such a price tag being slapped on something that has always been free through their already existing API.

: 1000 RP WHERe? --- Apparently since people are still downvoting this post, let me explain: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2285786 Back in 2012, Riot's servers had a lot of issues (of course) and in order to compensate for some players not being able to access their runes, Riot compensated them with 1000 RP. However, this wasn't fair to everyone else who was still having problems even _connecting_ to the game. Instead of being a cool company and compensating _everybody_ for their incredibly poor performance, Riot opted to tell half the community to fuck themselves, more or less. I'm agreeing with the OP by calling out a very specific point in time around where Riot first started being disappointing. But you're all too new to remember that so you wouldn't get the reference, so I'll face-tank the downvotes.

: Anyone else see their League of Legends client having viruses on virustotal.com?
It's a false positive. Some sites call something a virus or malware depending on what they do. League.exe is accessing a part of the system RAM (simply put: To check for hacks), which some scanners labels as a security breach or intrusion attempt. I've been wanting to lock down that part of the RAM to prevent said read access (I don't know _exactly_ what the League.exe does in there, and for all I know, everything I got loaded into the RAM is sent back to Tencent HQ in China for analysis), but ironically enough, blocking that access for the client WILL label me as hacking or interfering with the game. Virustotal is old though - was still using XP when I first encountered that site. It does a decent job, but...meh, it's inconsistent in its results. 9/10 computer infections are user error anyway.

It's legal. You only use the client's internal patcher to DL the language files, and that's both safe and legal. Done it myself several times. : Reorganizing Item Sets
It is possible, though it's not easy. Like, _really_ not easy. The whole itemset feature was so rushed when implemented in the new client, there is NO sorting option in-client. The only way is to manually edit ItemSets.json in a text editor (Notepad++ or similar, preferably). But it requires that you know how to read code.
