: That looks like a really rough, poorly photoshopped image. Do you have an official source that it's being added, such as the article they're drawing from in the vid?

SEKAI (OCE)
: If you have to consider that stealing even after giving full credit to the original video and is literally just doing a translation job and nothing more (again, it's not even like they didn't do a disclaimer, given it's both in the description and shown as the very first thing in the video), then more than half of Youtube needs to be taken down (I dare say, more than 80% even). Unless you also consider things like doing a lyrics/subtitle music video for a particular song also a big offence, otherwise this shouldn't be that big of a deal. And if you do, then I'm sure you'd be against basically the existence of Youtube itself and not just this particular uploader who translated your video to another group of audience that obviously wasn't a part of your own audience given they couldn't understand the language (and if they do, they'd just watch the original video instead of the translated one) so it's not like you actually lost anything. If anything, lyrics music video is a far bigger issue relatively because it's competing with the source material for the same audience, whereas this is simply importing a product to an audience that was never intended and tapped by the original creator (you). While it would be far better if they'd talked to you about it beforehand as it would seem they did not, but is this really such a big deal? I don't really think so. To put it simply, you really are not losing out potential revenue, because that revenue from a foreign audience wouldn't have come to you in the first place due to language barrier; if anything, you probably have more traffic than you would otherwise from the people in the foreign audience who is interested in watching the original video for whatever reason (which the translation video graciously linked without any attempt at hiding it). I mean, sure, copyright strike if you have to. But remember, this would just be the same as say SEGA or other companies and their rabid DMCA takedown practice against any gameplays and stream videos, even if they basically are just doing free ads for their games and really not much else. While yes, you can do that and legally have the full right to do so in order to protect your intellectual properties from others using it, but it still can nevertheless make you seem shitty for railing against some things that are ultimately not actually harmful to you nor your properties or may even be beneficial to you but just so happen to be using it without your exclusive permission.

Well, in your example, lyrics videos actually make money to the creators of the music since those get detected automatically by the system, you can't just make an Eminem lyrics video and make thousands of $ from it, but for mortals you don't get anything, you can just take them down since this isn't really fair use, but here, if they really just wanted to give a different demographic the content they could submit Chinese subtitles to me and Redmercy and everyone else they got their videos from, heck there are even videos with no commentary just uploaded there with a translated title, they don't do this to promote anyone, just to make money off someone else's work but translated. =) I don't really get traffic, there are videos with 2k views on my channel and the same video with 60k there, that's what annoys me the most, if it were a smaller channel with some people interested in the game it would be nice, or if they at least asked first or gave some royalty fees since they make more money than the original creators apparently... Also it's not really like your gameplay example, here the creator plays the game in his/her way and maybe adds commentary or does something only they did in that video, if you want to compare it like that then it's re-uploading official game trailers or cinematics without adding anything original. :D I could strike the channel and there are enough videos to even take it down thought that seems to much even if I'm a bit mad, I probably won't do that.
