: New Champion Idea (Close to old TF, but really not)
It's an interesting concept (I was actually literally thinking about why we didn't have a gold income based support a few hours ago), but how is he gonna help against a rengar gank? Or how is he gonna help the ADC stay alive late-game? Is he a tank? You need more incentive to pick him over any other support, imo

Because this is totally different from all the other typically toxic ethnicies in EUW lol

: That's not a risk though, that was the absolute least risky option they could have taken, its the safest gamemode ever because everything comes down to how well people play since there are no items and only one champion there's no way for there to be an imbalance in the game mode between what one person builds or plays and another does.
It's risky because they created something that took resources, is very limited and strays far away from the actual concept of the game, only for it to be a temporary game mode that could be a hit or miss. Not because it's entirely skill dependent (how could this possibly be the reason the game mode is a risk?)

: I mean it wouldn't be that cheap because for 1 Champion permanent is 3 champion shards. For 1 champion permanent you spend 5,100 IP
I suppose it would be nice for the people with lots of IP to spare now that you put it like that. Still don't think they'd do it, but it def feels like an okay idea now.
Kira 103 (NA)
: Orange Essence from Champion Permanents
They won't do that and for obvious reasons. One of them being that you could buy orange essense with IP. It would remove part of the sacrifice reward system. You can't have every single skin you get from hextech crafting, and you have to make a selective choices. That'd be all gone with that.

Nope. You become worth gold only if you get kills. That's it. 0/0/15 is just as worthy to kill as someone who just died.
Fawksea (EUW)
: It's funnier when the game is going slow and people waste 2-3 ultimates for a support and they complain like they're worth gold sometimes more than their adc cus the 0/0/15 janna is worth more than the 2/5 adc
Assists don't make you worth gold.
: I've noticed my behavior change and I think you're the problem
You people are too weak-willed... never change yourself, ever. Especially not over a video game lol
: maybe it has to do with my aa-based poke-heavy playstyle, but Janna just doesnt seem to be reliable when I play her. ~~strangely, if enemy support plays her, she is somehow op as fuck~~
If you go ad / as runes she's fine as a poke support in low elo. Just depends on the match up.
: im guessing it's easiest to do if u r playing {{champion:40}} with high elo players, but i can tell u as a supp main that trying to let ur teammates carry u in bronze is not possible. I resorted to playing {{champion:99}} {{item:2301}} {{item:3089}} {{item:3285}} {{item:3165}} {{item:3135}} {{item:3020}} to get myself out of bronze hell anyway, n even that isnt too easy.
: Supports are satisfying to play if your team is winning and they play with half a brain, but when your team is getting stomped it feels TERRIBLE. Especially since often times (unless you're alistar), the team has no incentive of not just focusing you. So you can save your AD or mid, for the cost of your life, only for them to go in and die 1.5 seconds later. I've mained support for a while, and honestly its one of the most tilting roles to play as you really don't have the ability to do anything if your team doesn't follow you (can't make picks solo or split solo or kill the enemy carries etc). On the other hand, if you have a god ADC, the game will be so fun as you shit stomp throughout the whole game keeping your AD allive - who is also apt at keeping himself alive/knowing limits. Honestly support is super tilting in lower elos (, I reccomend climbing to at least low plat before you play actual supports (instead of brand/zyra/malz) - from there ya you can use janna for freelo till diamond sure.
I climbed from bronze 5 to gold 5 in season 6 with Janna
: wait, so am i supposed to be getting the same or less winrate on my main that a random Vi player? Do 400k mastery points count for nothing? Basically, the champ should be viable with an OVERALL 49-51% winrate. The mains SHOULD be having much higher winrates than that, because they know that champ the best and are more skilled at it. If it takes the dedication of a one trick pony to make a champ just viable, then count me out.

: I have to disagree with you. I've played since the pre-season so I am quite aware of how the old pick order system used to work, however the amount I've been auto-filled with support now vs. the amount I had to do previously is completely different. Before people would just simply ask what role they wanted and very rarely was I ever made to support even when I was last pick. That's just simply not the case today. I find that I'm auto filled around 30% of the time unless I'm in promos (protected obviously). Part of the issue with the new system is definitely how tired support players got of just supporting 100% of the time even if they picked support as a secondary. It's a poorly designed system and it needs to be addressed.
They fixed that. Support main with support secondary, and I finally get my first pick a lot.
Molossus (NA)
: 3 Remove the support role from the game. Seriously... just make it a 4v4 game. Few people want to play support. A 4v4 will make queue times faster without requiring you to play a role you dont want to play. Also, cc and vision from other roles will become more important, thus making champ select for laners about more than just damage. Although then support champs will probably need reworks to make them viable in lanes.
: its not even funny when velkoz makes a better fit for that name
: Thank you for your thoughts, and I fully share your sentiment (this isn't my first Q&V-related thread). My reason for bringing Twitch into the conversation is to bring attention to the fact that his niche within the Marksman class is supposed to be his ability to simultaneously function as an Assassin, and yet Quinn seems to be better at that than him in a sense, which I feel raises some issues.
The point he made is that their playstyle, while both are assassins, is completely different from each other.
: And how would that help someone if their mechanical skills are severely lacking/non-existent? As a side note, I like to ask things so I can get as much information as possible. If I ask something to be explained and the response is: "I'm a higher rank then you." Or something like that it doesn't really help.
You need mechanical skills for a handful of champions, honesty. The rest are cookie cutter basic.

: Says who? Janna zones you by walking at you. If you turn and fight she shields herself and auto attacks you. Her shield, by itself, wins bot lane. Her Q cost is negligent and howling gale is rarely used in lane
What's "Says who?" referring to? And if Janna shields herself, you have a 10 second window to win a trade with her ADC
: Yes, but generally Riot doesn't like very safe, very effective champs. But for some reason {{champion:103}} and {{champion:40}} avoid meaningful nerfs for years.
Janna was witch hunted out of the mid lane and considered top tier trash for the greater part of season 3 (since then, she hasn't been buffed in a considerable way). It wasn't until people saw pros still used her when they realized Janna is viable. Her numbers have already been nerfed. She's just a inheritly good support
: Janna has not only the largest mana pool of the supports, but largest one in the game. Only Kassadin has a larger mana pool than her at lvl 18, and Janna has the largest at lvl 1. And her lvl 1 mana regen is equivalent to other supports who have the best starting mana regen (9 MP/5). http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_champions%27_mana
It's relative. Her mana usage is greater than that of Morgana, Lulu, Nami and Soraka Janna's shield costs 110 mana at maximum level and howling gale costs 150. Maxed out W costs 80, and her ult is 100 at all levels. A full rotation of Janna's abilities at level 18 costs 440 mana, around 2/7th of her entire mana pool, which is fair and pretty much equal to other supports.
: I say Janna just needs to drop the call-girl line as for Zac, he was an experiment. yes he started as an accident, but at first he was just a semi-sentient blob and was collected and experimented on into the wild mess he is today
The call-girl line is an actual part of her lore and like in the top 20 best lines of all champa
: Janna Could Use a Minor Nerf
Janna has terrible mana sustain lol, and poking her shield IS a viable strategy (unless they aren't maxing E)
Andrexo9 (EUW)
: It has been done xd
: Very nice post and I agree. Secondly, as a person who distinctly remembers Silver, there's a lot of players who should learn supporting because they cannot even stop going 0-11, much less carry. Check my recent support games for normal examples. --another mid/supp main

: Can we have an option to just lose LP instantly instead of getting autofilled?
If you're a good support and actually deserve to climb, you'll get your ADC fed 9/10 times.

: Fizz ult is a gigantic, ranged shark that does near-oneshot levels of damage with a huge AoE and CC versus almost all of those doing only maybe two of those. Fizz ult used to be dodgeable because getting onehit from 750+ range without any ability to do anything about it was bullshit. This new barely-dodgeable 750-900 range shark that does *way more* damage, has *more* AoE, and is potentially lethal by itself should have a clear indicator at *least* of where it can latch on to oneshot you.

It doesn't do near one-shot damage anymore and that is why this entire debate is a non-issue. Well, it's better than the constant yasuo whine threads at least.
: Why ziggs ? Any Ap carry bot lane should be encouraged as soon as they bring sustained damage (low cd for mages). The problem is that they are "outclassed" (yeah) by adc (or marksman) for a lot of things : Adc are reliable in dps (point and click undogeable dps), they can sustain with said auto attacks, bring far more dps and have some nice synergy with existing supports. (braum q only works with auto attacks for example)
His AOE damage and damage to turrets make him a natural pick for bootlane, really.
Vekkna (NA)
: I would echo much of what's already been said about the _consistency_ of clunkiness. I'll give you a few comparisons: {{champion:7}} vs {{champion:103}} Leblanc technically has shorter delays built into her W and passive than Ahri does on her ult, but Leblanc _feels_ clunkier because the W delay is too long to feel smooth but too short to feel intention. It feels like lag, not like a part of her kit that you play around. Ahri, on the other hand, has longer delays on her R charges, but the cooldown is both transparent to the player and long enough to strategize combos around. {{champion:134}} vs {{champion:143}} Syndra and Zyra have similar delays built into their basic abilities, but Syndra has little to no animation time. She can even cast QW while moving, and QE has an extremely short animation lock. Compare Syndra's QE to Zyra's E, which starts as a .75 sec snare with a .2-.25 sec animation lock. This is a case where the "clunk" just feels inconsistent and arbitrary. One could argue that Syndra isn't clunky enough after her bugfixes, but Zyra is especially clunky compared to most (all?) mages. {{champion:40}}{{champion:61}}{{champion:25}}{{champion:43}}{{champion:131}}{{champion:117}}{{champion:92}}{{champion:37}} vs {{champion:44}} {{champion:99}} The first group all have instant shields. Why are Lux and Taric the only champs in the game (as far as I can tell) who have to stop moving to cast their shields? In the reverse, heals have a cast time across the roster with the notable exceptions of Kayle and Sona. However, those two exceptions have clear and obvious kit identities that explain the exception: Kayle has to kite, and Sona has to move around to aura tag. In the case of the shield cast time, there is no apparent reason why Taric and Lux's shields have "clunk" when they also happen to be exceptionally weak. {{champion:106}} Q vs {{champion:27}} E {{champion:420}} W vs {{champion:60}} Q (spider) {{champion:114}} E vs {{champion:28}} E This is probably my biggest overall complaint about "clunk" in League. The complete lack of consistency between abilities and "empowered basic attacks." The group on the left requires an additional input compared the group on the right for _the exact same result_. Voli and Singed both fling, but Voli requires an extra AA input. Illaoi and Elise both jump short distances to their target, but Illaoi again requires an extra AA input. Fiora and Evelynn both use two basic attacks in quick succession, but Fiora requires the extra input. Basically every empowered AA ability has a counterpart without the AA input requirement. This is extremely frustrating for me because not only is it inconsistent, but also because I happen to be extraordinarily awful at using these empowered AAs, particularly under pressure. And hundreds of games worth of trying has not corrected that, which is why I consider it to be the very definition of bad "clunk." At this point, there's a huge chunk of the roster that I'm basically incapable of playing, despite the fact that I can play input-heavy champs that are otherwise considered difficult.
Lux and Taric have shields that can shield multiple targets. The only other person that can do that is Karma, and she has to ult (?) for it.

: The Support Role
I'm consistently the person who finishes my build first, who gets the most praise and who gets the S on our team. Support is NOT in a bad state right now, what the hell guys. Riot has done mental gymnastics to make Supports as relevant as possible, and in my opinion it's really worked. Last season, I actually felt like there was no point in picking enchanter supports. That's actually completely 180'd this season. Carrying as a support hasn't felt easier for me since I installed this game.

Adcs : 4 mids : 11 tops: 7 Jgs: 11 or 12 and i probably didnt list them all... supp: 0 -> reason being i think anything classified as a support is fine with the new broken items they're all somewhat viable it depends on the marksman.. now i know that doesnt add up to 27 but that's because lots of these guys are so broken they can go in multiple roles... like yasuo... and you can clearly tell where every like pro player gets there sense of jungle is broken in solo queue... because all of the most broken champions are jungle then followed by mid then top... then adc... and that's why they all say "gangbang botlane" ........ because botlane cannot stop a mage like syndra that's 2000 range.. from 1 hitting them.. or a hecarim from charging them... or a yasuo from using his W ability that for some reason exists.. sad tho ive been playing since like season 1... l0l i cant even think of 30 out of 130 champions that id be willing to have on my team in a ranked game. it's also sad that the only adcs that are viable are the ones that can two tap from stealth like the old assassins{{champion:29}} {{champion:67}} , ones that only work with a duo'd support {{champion:51}} , and ones that have a broken ult that has no counter play other than to counter pick it in select...{{champion:202}}

: {{champion:427}} just absorbs monsters. Doesn't even fight them. Can't contest because he absorbs them. Oh, he also has a pet that does MASSIVE damage and MASSIVE CC. Such unbelievably horrible design.
It's a slowly moving piece of rock with terrible AI and does a short knock-up after hitting you three times If you got hit three times by that mess then you deserve to die anyway. Ivern is good because he's this decent damage chamo with good ganks that transitions into a kind of support late-game, and THAT is why he's good. He protects his team like no other jungle, and on top of that gives away his buffs without losing exp. He's so team-based he's like a niche on his own compared to the rest.
: Sorry but you are assuming that Riot either A)cares or B) is competent. They are neither. Changes to the game are about sales, LCS, etc. Their incompetence lies in the fact that they haven't figured out a way to be just as profitable while putting the integrity of the game FIRST.
Your way of thinking on this subject is idiotic and illogical. Keeping the playerbase happy is the thing a company wants to do most. Who will watch LCS without a playerbase? No one, and you genuinely think that they don't realize this? Not to mention the LCS crowd goes wild if something unexpected is picked. That's an obvious indication that they too want more variety. You think RIOT wouldn't realize this? Considering the monkeys on this board realize, don't you think the people that made that game to begin with would?

He meant to make a support. Not playing them, lol.
: I think the main reason is because very few people play her at low elo, honestly, plus a lot of people consider her to be soraka levels of boring(to play I mean). if something happened to cause Janna to become meta in silver & below, she _will_ get nerfed.
In that case no support will ever get nerfed. Welcome to bronze and silver, where support is just a mid with an optional sightstone! And Janna can be garbage. With high cooldowns and low scalings, you need to actually wait to use it. In bronze I've seen Janna's use Q to poke. Not even with a follow up. Just purely Q damage poke. Lol. So that scenario is def never gonna happen.

: --- **Disclaimer:** _I know I sound condescending on this. It is not meant that way. The information I give you, is because I like people knowing whats going on. Take this rebuke of your statement in the spirit of this discussion, and not as an offense._ --- >but I could be misinterpreting it. You are not misinterpreting it, but you don't have all the information. Which isn't your fault btw. Riot did a pretty slow job at communicating in this case. Here is the[ thourough response by Riot Gromp](http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/79aGu3wR-support-singed-isnt-banable-but-thats-not-the-point?comment=006b) on the matter. Here is the centerpiece of the response you should look at: >_To be clear,** this player does attempt to communicate intent and strategy, but a good chunk of teammates across hundreds of games just don’t want to sign up for the plan.** That lack of agreement on the new plan makes for a pretty chaotic game and leads to a huge share of this player’s reports. If a teammate in champ select says, “pls no, this is game 5 of promos”, maybe stick with something conventional and skip tilting your teammates off the face of the earth. In short, argue for your idea, but stay ready to be flexible._ So the problem is not a lack of communication. The problem is that he wanted to play something completely off meta, in a team of randomly assigned people, who all want to play according to meta. Yes he communicated, but he ignored it when they said "NO." Hope this clears things up a bit on the Singed matter, and puts this argument to rest.

: @Meddler Have you tried giving Syndras enemies an indicator of when her ult is available? I think making her orbiting spheres change color, or simply the orbs disappear for the time when Unleashed Power is on cooldown (e.g. Ekko)?
Yeah, and maybe an indicator to show when enemies have used summoner spells as well?
: It comes at the cost of a worse experience for literally everybody else (other than suport mains) though. People end up playing roles they don't want to play, adcs have to play with supports that have no idea what they are doing, and dodges are light years more frequent. Why should people be forced to play a role they don't enjoy (even if they are good at it) in a game played during their free time? You could've played support anytime prior to autofill just by putting it as your primary role every once in a while when you want to take a break from your main role. You realize that right?
Well considering no one used fill, riot had to force them. And I don't blame riot for that whatshowever.
