: Isnt karma considered black?
She is by some, but Karma looks more like an indian woman, a dark-skinned one. Her name indicates that too.
: They're from the dense jungles and endless savannahs south of the Shuriman Desert known as Criafa.
: It's not a problem that people of all racial backgrounds can be found anywhere inexplicably, more an inconsistency in that the Freljord and Ionia supposedly contain only Nordic and Asian people so it creates the expectation that different areas in League should have different ethnic populations like they do in the real world. If they put some black people in the Freljord or some blondies in Ionia we wouldn't have this expectation and nobody would ask OPs' question to begin with.
Yeah, that was honestly one of my motivations to ask this question, these two regions seem more exclusive.
: As Demacia was formed by refugees fleeing the Rune Wars, ethnic Africans could very well be in Demacia at the beginning. Whether they are “native” to that region is another question. Beyond that I have no idea.
It would make more sense if they were on the southern continent though, no? I mean, it's definitely not above Freljord.
: Honestly, the whole racial make up of Runeterra is a mess. You have people like {{champion:145}} being native Shurimans of the desert while being as pale as the moon, and a red head like {{champion:89}} in a place like Targon where {{champion:80}} brown skin and Persian/ancient Greece features I assume are the norm. And let's not forget Aphelios and his sister that have very obvious Asian features, even if the aren't of Ionia. And speaking of Ionia, what's with {{champion:39}} ? She looks like she could come from Demacia. And let's not forget about the rest of the lore. We have black mageseekers if LoR cards are canon, even if in a very isolationist kingdom as Demacia immigration shouldn't be very common, aside from special cases like {{champion:5}} . Or that black lady protagonizing the Noxus story on Kumungu. Granted, she could be from a noble family of the recently annexed lands of Shurima, but the implication seems to be that her family has been on the empire for centuries, so, how do people of her native region look like?
I dont know, it's like all of Runeterra is the USA, a giant melting pot, even though Freljord and Ionia are more "exclusive". Regarding Kai'sa she lived in dark caverns for a decade, that would make her pretty pale.
Jacksin (OCE)
: Well if the map is anything to go off of, we roughly only see 1/4 of Runeterra as a whole. Perhaps this is something that will be explored in the future.
At first I thought perhaps Icathia could be where sub-saharan african looking champions could come from, but Zilean is Icathian... and Jax is altered and purple. I dont think they originate from the middle of Valoran between Noxus and Demacia or the giant region above Freljord, that looks like where White Walkers from Game of Thrones "live". 1. My best guess would be above Ixtal and below Zaun, it would at least be close to {{champion:245}} and {{champion:555}} , {{champion:236}} 's father also could've easily sailed to Demacia in the gap between Valoran and Shurima. Edit: The islands on the left could also be a possiblity.

: Quick Gameplay Thoughts: August 30
Now that more and more older champions are being updated, I wonder if there are any plans for Jax? I know he is a consistently strong top laner and arguably the strongest duelist. But even though his kit has aged well, I feel like his gameplay is a bit bland.
: I ban Qiyana cause I don't know what that champion does except that she looks like a month old left out big Mac with mayonnaise on top of the bread.
She's uber-thicc, why are you dissing her appearance {{sticker:zombie-brand-clap}} I personally dislike her because of her attitude though, I played her once or twice and holy moly, her lines make me mad.
: Also some champions _**(mainly {{champion:157}} and followed by {{champion:64}})**_ don't have high win rate because most of their players have low IQ, refuse to cooperate with their team and frequently throw the game thus causing their team to lose.
Never played with or against a {{champion:157}} without a **gigantic** ego
: Can rhaast be as strong as aatrox
To answer this question we would need to know who they were before they became Ascended. What occupation and role did they play in ancient Shuirma? Renekton was a warrior who led armies and Nasus was sort of the general who made the war strategies and spearheaded shuriman culture. If Renekton wasnt a rage monster he'd propably be stronger than Nasus. Nasus might be smarter and more strategic but in war not single combat, unlike Renekton who has plenty of combat experience and even trained Azir in combat.
: This guy is probably the strongest warrior in Mount Targon, he was able to inhabit the power of a dying aspect as a **mortal**. You can't expect him to be a great dancer on top of all that.
He wasnt the strongest warrior before become the host of the aspect of war though. In the lore he is described as not being particularly skilled or physically strong, he was determined and never gave up. His persistence is what got him far. The only reason Pantheon took over Atreus completely is because Atreus was too weak to be in control.
Juxin (NA)
: Made a mistake and tried picking a top lane Tank for my team.
That's how I feel as a {{champion:14}} main it makes me regret being one. I like to be the big guy who menacingly stares down assassins that even think about approaching my carries. I like being the big guy that you cannot kill because you are too puny. The most painful match I had was when I played vs Riven and talked to her. She told me that tanks suck and I have to play champions like hers. Riven is my most hated matchup on any top laner. Because this champion was always viable, barely changed and remains a hard carry OTP champion.
: The aspect of having something on his back is now part of his core design and should be kept consistent in his character model to distinguish WW within the game. Again I understand the frustration, but instead of just saying you don't like something and want it back to the way it was, suggest ways to compromise. For instance, you said you don't like that its not the original Hyena theme. Instead, suggest they change the name to more accurately represent the new skin. You don't like the engine, suggest they change it to something else. I'm not saying Riot is correct always I'm saying there are more constructive ways to help them than saying you don't like something. I think this is much more of reasonable request, right?
Reav3 (NA)
: We had to put something on his back that could convey his gameplay state changes. Hyena's in general feel kind of wild and crazy which we felt fit well with a post-apocalyptic Savannah type theme. As always we do lots of different concepts of each skin and we felt that it was really cool, kept with the Hyena theme, and also incorporated the back piece and the new augmented theme Warwick's has now. We also felt the engine gave us a unique opportunity to do some cool unique anims since base Warwick runs on all fours now. I sorry you aren't really digging it but I thought I at least should answer your question.
Thanks for the answer. But still... {{sticker:zombie-nunu-bummed}}

: Warwick Skin Feedback
Why have you guys changed Hyena Warwick so much? The name doesnt fit with what he's now, the **heavy** Mad Max influence seems like you are using the nostalgia and the name to make it appeal to a larger group of people and the engine on his back looks stupid in my opinion. I bought Hyena warwick because of his former african/savannah/ actual hyena focused theme, not a wasteland mad max hyena skin with goofy goggles. I'd really like to know why you decided for the wasteland stuff on Hyena warwick and not just make a new skin. It just makes me so unhappy and angry, it seems so drastic off a change and it's going to be shoved down my throat like many other rework skins again. **The original theme of skins has to be the focus when reworking theme.** The beautiful savannah of africa, home of many animals is **not a wasteland** , if that perception is what it made you decide for the wasteland skin, then i can only say. **No. **
: I see your point here in that he went from being a more feral, goofy hyena to a Mad Max themed biker dog. However, what you want to also think about is the overall change they have made to Warwick. He has gone from being more animalistic werewolf to one who is heavily influenced by machinery and science. The incorporation of the engine in his back, in my opinion, was an awesome idea that brought some of the old Hyena WW to the new skin, especially if you see how the people in Mad Max behave. On the long arms, I believe part of that was to because WW had very little things you could do to his model that you could reasonably change without going to crazy. Now that he has the injectors in his back, he has much more to work with but I don't know for sure. That being said, I don't know much about the laughter or the walk it's but I feel like they can add that back to his movement animations. Remember, this is still in PBE so there might be more changes before release.
> He has gone from being more animalistic werewolf to one who is heavily influenced by machinery and science. Alright i've taken notice of your point. But as a Hyena warwick owner im genuinely disappointed with this, i dont want a engine on his back, i dont want stupid goggles and i certainly dont want any Mad Max influences that strong on my **HYENA** . The theme is >Hyena<, not vandal, not junkyard or any of that sorts, because that's what this definitely looks like. I understand your point i really do, but im not a Yes-man and im not obligated to like or accept this change and i feel wronged if they are simply going to shove this down my throat like all my other awesome skins that got "ruined" in visual updates.
: I didn't like how Riot designed Feral WW, so I re-designed it how I think it should've looked.
Your version is pretty good. Do you think the darker, dirtier fur is essential for Feral warwick?
: I think taking those dumb eyeglasses away would already be a huge improvement, as he would no longer look so much like Twitch. I'm also going to miss the maniacal laughter during his attacks.... If Riot was honest, they'd allow us a refund.
The E walking animation was awesome too. I used to keep running around whenever Blood Scent was activated because it's satisfying and feels so good. But now...having a favorite skin for a visually outdated champion became "dangerous", for your feelings that is.

: Not really sure where we would actually go whenever we do get around to Mundo. Once we put a whole team of creative people on a project it can change quite a bit from our initial feelings as the project evolves overtime. I will say that one idea I always thought that would be cool for a Mundo VGU is to go the Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde Route, or at least our twist on it. Where his ult makes him go all Mr Hyde, but he is usually Dr. Jekyll
The name Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde come up so many times when talking about Dr.Mundo and i dont get the reference. But after googling him i realized that i saw him in two movies... The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Van Helsing. It's from the 19th century, so i guess Bruce Banner / the Hulk was inspired by him as well.

{{champion:245}} {{champion:43}} {{champion:236}} Im offended. Every other human champions is defined by something else, like a gauntlet, spear, lance, sword, axe. But the only thing that defines them is them being dark-skinned/black? This truly offends me. EDIT: I don't care how many people disagree, i hate this and i have always fucking hated this shit.

: If the Rune Wars still exist, then summoners to some extent as well. "Ancient battles between Protectorate (Stag crest) and Magelords (Owl crest) summoners waged on the field known as Summoner's Rift. Helped by a mysterious figure, the war between both sides has changed the landscape and mutated the local flora and fauna. Now the battlefield is littered with the ruins of both sides and is a residence of a powerful Dragon and Baron Nashor." IIRC the Summoner's Rift was created so the wars would stop between the summoners and they'd be disputed in this virtual arena. There's still a connection between summoners and the official lore, though very little champions have reference to them anymore.
Well these: http://mmoatk.com/uploads/League_of_Legends_Summoners.jpg Summoners dont exist and are retconned. **Retconned** > IIRC the Summoner's Rift was created so the wars would stop between the summoners and they'd be disputed in this virtual arena. There's still a connection between summoners and the official lore, though very little champions have reference to them anymore. That is not canon anymore, now it's just a battlefield with high magical concentration. No summoner controls any champion, all relations have been made invalid.
morris1 (EUNE)
: Magelords and Protectorates are summoners, but anyhow.
Are we talking about the same Summoners? Summoners who control champions to fight for them? By the way, Magelords are like...Mages and Protectorates are like Paladins. They are not summoners.
morris1 (EUNE)
: "When the cataclysmic forces of the Rune Wars began to devastate the world, the Brackern feared the turmoil would soon mark the end of their species. They resolved to hide in hibernation until humans wiped themselves out, as it seemed certain they would. Only then would it be safe to emerge from the sands once more." http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/shurima/skarner
There is no mention of "Summoners", they are retconned, gone! Magelords vs Protectorate fought in the Rune Wars, not Summoners.
: AlienPrimate has it pretty close. Except for their actual age as I've yet to decide how old they really are. Let's see if I could explain it better. Kia and Ria both look like they are 16-18 years old, but they aren't. They are both much older than they appear. However, despite them LOOKING the same age Ria is the younger sister by 13 years. Pretty much just look at the image I provided for Kia and that is what they both relatively look like. Extremely young, but much, much older. They didn't mature fast or anything. Think of it like this. They matured normally up until a certain age and then their appearance and biology stopped changing so as to keep them forever young.
> This is because Ria looks around the same age, and yet is much, much younger. By at least 13 years. In that case i would change the second "is" to "appears" for clarification. "This is because Rioa looks around the same age, and yet appears, much much younger." Otherwise it just sounds weird and might confuse the reader.
morris1 (EUNE)
: I never played Fiora before rework but her ultimate seemed really amazing (though toxic) and made her much more fun.

: [Champion Concept] Kia, the Murmur of Runeterra
That's a really nice concept you did there, kinda reminds me of Akame ga Kill with the trained assassins. There was one part i hardly understood though.. > Age: Kia looks to be about 16-18 years old, but her real age is relatively unknown. This is because Ria looks around the same age, and yet is much, much younger. By at least 13 years. The way i, as an english as second language speaker, understand this, is that her real age is between 3-5 years old. Does that mean she is some sort of homunculi or biologically matured very fast?
