: Usually, a competitor comes through to fill the spot popular games like League of Legends leave behind. As a game developer myself, I could see myself making a game that calls back to the old aspects that got me into League in the first place. Unfortunately, I lack the trust fund that Riot got, so I can't give reliable servers, multiple skins, and 3d model art required for such a project. So the barrier of entry into the market is very high. It's going to be a while before anyone can give us an alternative. I enjoy Dota 2's difficulty and breadth of skills. For instance, you won't ever see Ice Apparation's abilities in league. And I do miss point and click skills League use to have. It would make so much sense in this current meta of so much mobility. But I know LoL's strengths compared to Dota, such as a lot better control scheme, whereas I wish allowed less casual skills and gave us more creative items that you see in Dota. I always dreamed of a game with a mix of both game's strengths, but it may never come.

Conqueror as a tryn cheese pick? That´s just bs. Hail of Blades falls off heavily. IE is not anywhere near the powerlevel it used to have seasons ago. And he is played how he is played cause it´s the most efficient way. Thats why fogged plays him like that.
: Why rework him when they can buff his E cooldown, making him even more slippery in his cancerous splitpushing? Also, dealing with splitpushing IS part of toplane, but dealing with Tryndamere isn't. If somebody like Fiora fucks up or plays stupid, she doesn't have a "Get out of jail free" card. If she gets collapsed on by 3 people, she's dead. Tryndamere just activates his ult (which can be activated in hard CC of course, don't want trynda players using their brains or forethought) and spams E to get away. There's a lot of other factors in why he's so cancerous, like most other splitpushers take SOME element of mechanical/macro skill to play, or won't be able to stand even with you even when they're way behind.
The biggest part about playing tryn is macro play dude. He is pretty much dogshit atm. The only reason you can dump people on top is because he isn´t played that much and no one wants to play top.

Malphite with Tp can easily deal with tryn and has a great hard engage to win 5v4 with your team and ende the game.

You just can´t remove Splitpush from the game... There is always 1 Champ in the game good at it. Even tho tryn is a trash tier Champ atm people still complain cause they don´t want to admit that they don´t know how to play against it.
: People play Tryndamere wrong. They play him like they're trying to stomp Bronze/Iron elo. They never consider counterplay or objectives beyond splitting or teamfights or anything; they just cheese cheese cheese in lane with a Conqueror build and hope for the best. It's the equivalent of picking all cheese runes on any top laner without a gameplan past the 10 minute mark other than hoping to annoy the other team to death. The problem with PLAYING Conqueror Tryndamere (even when fed early) is that his opponent has a ticket out of top lane: anyone remotely useful coming and helping him nuke Tryndamere and then kite/cc him to death every time he's pushing - but Tryndamere at that point has no escape. Even if he's mega-fed using said cheese build, after doing nothing but pushing top lane in for 20+ minutes the counter to him is obvious and very accessible: focus him for just a little while, cc him/kite him, then finish him off with Ignite or ranged attacks. He's so easy for 2+ non-feeding champions to deal with and play around unless he builds for lategame and shows up to teamfights instead of cheesing early and doing nothing but push. Scaling runes that are FANTASTIC on Tryndamere, particularly outside of lane: Lethal Tempo - Bonkers mid/lategame Hail of Blades - Good all game, even better at cheesing than Conqueror. Why does no one run this? Legend:Tenacity/Unflinching - ...why do people value a bit more AS over free tenacity on THE premiere "just CC him" champion!? Revitalize + Barrier/Triumph/PD - Live much longer after ulting, potentially be able to still fight while ult is on cd Approach Velocity - Catch someone with W or a friendly tank gets CC'ed initiating and it's a free mini-Ghost with no cooldown! Abuse the whopping 1000 range. Items that make him pop off when finished in laning phase: IE - Duh ER - Extremely valuable on Tryn; have ult up every fight and E more than once no matter what Boots of Swiftness - Same as Unflinching/Legend:Tenacity Titanic - Sounds silly, right? But wow this item can put in work on Tryndamere, alongside a couple health items like Sterak's. It also makes him seriously beefy in teamfights - particularly coupled with maxed W. ---------------- Clearly it's not Riot's fault that Tryndamere is boring to play against; it's just ours. After Riot revealing the next 5 champions lined up for reworks over YEARS to come and Tryn being a tier 5 top laner USING the same old hashed bad cheese strats, despite all these powerful runes and items at his disposal, it's apparent that very few macro "tryhard" Tryn players that actually care about winning exist. Only wishy-washy FotM players are using him for the one brainless strategy to gain (what they hope is) free Elo against bad top laners.

: I hate Tryndamere but I don't think he needs a full VGU. Trying to be objective about Tryndamere here, the reasons: 1. Tryndamere has a pretty large playerbase that enjoys playing him. 2. He fulfils a niche in the game that doesn't really overlap much with any other champion. 3. His thematics and kit go together pretty nicely, he's a rage fueled Berserker warrior.. plays like it. Reasons to rework Tryndamere: 1. His graphics aren't the best but they aren't too bad, his voice lines are bad though. 2. He is stat-checky, and there's some frustration dealing with him. 3. His W is kind of a weird and outdated kinda skill. So I think Tryndamere overall, would be more like a mini update - some stats changed around, maybe 1 spell completely changed (W) - but fulfilling a simular function, the others minorly adjusted, with a new model and voice lines, such as Ezreal or Morgana. But not a total VGU where he's thrown into the blender like Aatrox or Irelia.

: Early 9.10 Patch Discussion
Hello Rpertoir, any chance for some work on Tryn or at least a small buff? He got hit the most with the conqueror changes, his itemisation was hit with PD becoming pretty much useless and if we look a little bit further, tiamat got more expensive, now BotrK also got more expensive and the last small buff to his passive didn´t really change anything for him. As we all know that he isn´t a generally loved champ, a small change like increasing his AA range or giving him 1 Sec less CD on his E (which would have been better than just reverting the buff he got anyway) could help alot of making him a "playable" champion. Besides that, is there any chance the Data you guys have about Champion(Winrate, Pickrate Banrate etc.) could become available for the public? It is always frustrating to argue about champs items etc. when everyone uses different data. Keep up the good work. Makadur

Here we have the problem. What exactly is a bruiser? Is a juggernaut like Mundo a bruiser? Is a diver like Vi a bruiser? Or are all Fighters Bruisers? Because if you look at the definition that riot gives you can´t tell.
: Shrinking. Yet of the highest picked top laners, only two are ranged and the rest are melee fighters/bruisers. Jayce, riven, vlad, irelia, sylas, renekton, Darius, jax, yorick, and Fiora. Two are ranged. The others are melees who fall into the bruiser category and none of them are tanks. This is according to Op.gg but I'm sure the story is the same at other websites too. Bruisers are fine. They have been fine for over a season now. Bruiser mains are just upset that their rune(which was the best one in the game and only useable by AD melee champions such as themselves) is finally getting nerfed and put into proper balance. They still have the best items with the most build diversity and despite being "melee" many of them scale harder and better than any ADC while still having ostentatiously better early games.

Aatrox, Urgot(now he´s shit), Trunde, Tryndamere, GP, Fiora, Irelia, Renekton, Yasuo, Olaf, Rengar, Darius, are all under 49% WR and most of them have a really low Play rate. Conqueror was fine on most champs, it only made very few champs to strong. And they could have gotten compensation nerfs. Now conqu is shit for everyone who can´t instantly stack it. Also ofc "Bruisers" should be able to 1v1 an ADC unless they get outplayed hard or it´s a counter. ADCs are meant to deal huge amount of dmg from distance while being very squishy. That´s why they lane with a support. And about items, if you talk about bruisers as i said that is more than 1 category of champs. Depending on what you believe is a bruiser, you could argue that even Dr. Mundo is a bruiser. Or volibear. How doesn tryn i.e. have a bigger item diversity than any adc?

Dude... having more Variances in League wouldn´t make it a different Game. Smite has different modes, Dota has them and HotS does too. It´s just BS to me that League is reduced just to standard 5v5 summoners rift forever.

Tryns strongest strenght and weakness is how simple he is. You and your opponent pretty much know what you can do. At least if people would just think for 2 seconds. But in most cases when people complain about Tryn, they are the ones who all in him at lvl 1 or 2 when he has full fury. Just stupid. I can understand that you dont like him. But as much as i hate Zed, Yasuo and some other champs. They can be outplayed and in the end it is about skill. Tryn being stat check? The term is pretty BS imo. As even a Tryn can outplay his opponent. And as others mentioned in it´s core League just is statcheck.

He may be a Barbarian King, but he isn´t stupid. he will 1v1 or 2v1, but he won´t 4v1 unless his team gets something out of it.

Any ideas to maybe make crit items having different stats for melees and ranged users, as it seems that it is pretty ahrd to balance them for adcs and melee users. Did you maybe see foggeds video about the changes and are taking that kind of reaction into your thoughts? :)

What are your thoughts about the melee users of Crit items especially {{champion:23}} and {{champion:157}} ? The plannes changes don´t seem to fit them very well. As there is always the problem of balancing crit for them and ADC´s any thoughts about different Stats for ranged and melee users, e.g. IE giving +50%crit dmg for melee users? Thanks for your time.
: .... as a player who mains a champ with zero cc{{champion:76}} and who secondary role mains a champ with incredible CC {{champion:25}} there are plenty of champs that are WAY more effected by CC than others tanky champs obviously care less about CC while squishies care more when champs like {{champion:92}} which normally have decent mobility with a large shield, shecan be easily stopped do to the fact that her shield is tied to her dash... she she cant shield herself while in CC like a root, silence, or grounded champs like {{champion:11}} or {{champion:55}} can because almost unstoppable if they are fed and played properly unless u can actually hit them with a form of hard CC, and because they have very low cooldown abilties they can use to dodge most CC throw at them... if if they do actaulyl get hit by a hard CC it is extremly effective at giving you an opportunity to stop them where CC vs {{champion:86}} is laughably useless unless you can constantly refresh it. with something like {{item:3116}} and spammable spells or a {{item:3022}} or your just playing {{champion:22}} when people say "just CC them" it literally means.. THAT'S THE BEST WAY TO TAKE THEM DOWN if u hit a riven with a morg Q and she is stuck there for three second.. she cant do jack shit. even if your a a melee champ coming to go into melee range of her after your allied support CCed them where even as champs like {{champion:122}} who you can stop from chasing you... he can still do many thing to attack you back even while rooted.. most notably if your a melee champ and an ally rooted him, or you just managed to root him right before he was in AA range saying "just CC them" means a hell of a lot more when u say it to a "{{champion:55}} {{champion:11}} {{champion:92}} than it does if u say it to {{champion:86}} {{champion:31}} {{champion:36}} {{champion:25}} " your point that "just CC them is equal in any way to "just kill them" is ludicroius

Have you ever played tryn? Also ever played him? Into an unfavorable matchup? Like veigar? Veigars cage alone pretty much denies trynd. With the amoint of mobilty and cc nee champs get, he gets weaker and weaker. I mean you play eve, she is pretty much also a burst or cc champ. But its funny how people always complain about tryn when they loose against him, but if they win against him it doesnt get noticed how that was possible.

Even if it was 500 true damage that's still a close to a quarter of my HP from a keystones NO other keystones can do that other than dark harvest and dark harvest only reactivates when you get another stack as long as he's in combat conqueror is still going it's too much damage for free it is the BEST keystones in the game if your champion can abuse it it's basically your 7th item
Dude, obv conqu is good on some champs, but the best keystone? Hell no. Also he did the most dmg with his spin because of er which makes ninja tabs not that helpful. Also nunu did alot of dmg and even 5% from minions. You are being killed by a fed trynd with the help of nunu and some minions. 4second is also not rly a short time period. Tryn with that items has like a 1.8 AS ? That are like 7AAs + 3 or 4 spins with crits or ER. Plus he got blade of the ruined king and shiv dmg. He had a 5k gold lead on you and a 4k exp lead...

And what should that tell us? That trynd built pretty weird and ofc with er his e will do the most dmg, also conqueror converts 20% of you dmg into true dmg, it doesn´t add 20% dmg. Tryn got 3 full items+bf while you only have 2 full items which don´t even add that much health. Looking at the items i would assume that trynd isn´t lvl 13 like you but rather lvl 15/16 or even higher. Just not comparable.

Tlaking like it would be broken... Just do the maths and you will see that it doesn´t deal as much dmg as you think.

: TF+Titanic+Steraks is a better burst build than Duskblade+Hydra+Stormrazor….. Better sustained damage too. The difference is duskblade users have easier target access, except for the pick or ban outliers who are mechanically breaking the game and just unfun to play against as a result.(Irelia, Jax, Camille)
You have to see that TF, TH, SG cost 1200 gold more. Duskblade is built way faster than TF. Its not just about the power of an item but also when it is accesible.

Why would you compare the dmg at lvl 18? Also duskblade is cheaper.
