Riot's mage bias is insane. Zilean mid 53% winrate dia+ soloq for over a year, Karthus 53% winrate across 4 positions, both untouched. Anything that is not a mage being viable in competitive gets nerfed to the fucking ground. Class with the most strenghst and fewest flaws, outranges most opponents by default, scales, doesn't need to snowball, premium waveclear, cdr for free on every item. Not to mention the single best itemcomponent in the game, being Lost Chapter. Ap, Mana, CDR and mana sustain all for 1300 gold. Don't forget double the mana pool on level 1 by default so you can outspam your opponent without repercussions. Just openly state that you wish for no class other than mages to be viable mid, delete all assassins who don't function outside the jungle. And also remove all videos from Season 4, especially the worlds, or people might realise that mages and assassins can be picked equally as often with similar results.

We don't think that alone will solve everything with Akali, but agree it's a good change, especially given even many Akali mains would prefer that the effect be removed and power spent elsewhere. Please don't do this. Her powerlevel is fine as it is. She needs that to be able to threaten the enemy under tower at all. A Zed can kill you under tower if he is good enough, a Fizz can kill you under tower too, or both can at least threaten to kill you. Assassins, that are, except for LB, all melee, need a way to threaten Mages who hide under their turret. A Xerath, a Cassio or a Syndra can kill you under tower without a problem, but Assassins can't. Mages are jack of all trades with the single best item component in the game (Lost Chaper, as it provides Ap, Mana, CDR and Mana Sustain for merely 1300 gold). They don't have to snowball, have superior waveclear, range advantage and can hit a melee without getting traded back. They scale better, they can burst and dps, they have utility and cc to be useful even if they are behind. They don't need to snowball to be relevant. An Assassin has to snowball, has weak waveclear, no range, no cc, no utility, no dps. The only two things they are good at are burst (which was reduced via "counterplay", aka putting 1/3 of the kits damage in the passive which has an inbuilt delay [Akali, Talon, Katarina]) and mobility, but the latter is hardly a strenght if you need it to get in range of Mages to deal damage in the first place. And the statistics for competitive reflect that. Season 4, Assassins and Mages were equally viable mid. Hi, I'm a mid Pyke main since his release hovering between d3 and d5 on EUW (aka not the best, but I think I have some insight on the matter) who'd like to comment on Riot's goal for Pyke. First of all, Pyke's kit naturally fits that of a mid lane or jungle roaming assassin, but was impaired through gimmicks by Riot to force him into their desired role, being support. To all the people who still don't believe or are too blind to see that, view it as follows: Someone told you there'd be a new champion with aoe damage + slow or delayed hook on charge up on q, stealth + ms on w, dash + delayed aoe damage + stun on e and an aoe delayed execute with temporary reset + blink on r with hp regen as a passive, what role and lane does come to mind first? The gimmicks are as follows: 1) Mostly top: Can't build hp. Mostly restricts him from being played top lane, but could also impact mid and jungle. 2) Mostly Mid: Reduced aoe on q for minions and monsters. Only the closest minion/monster recieves full damage, the rest only half of it. Out of all the gimmicks, this is probably the most prominent as it serves no purpose other than to limit is wave clear to confine him to the only role that doesn't need it. It's worse for jungle than mid pyke, but still terrible, forcing you to build tiamat, and on top of that, unintuitive. 3) Mostly Mid: Absurdly high cds. Level 1: Q - 16 W - 12 E - 15. While Q and W scale down properly, E cd doesn't scale. Noteworthy: His e is one of the best waveclearing tools in the early game because you can hit all 6 minions and it does about 100 damage level 1. However, it leaves you exposed with no escape, especially after W base ms nerf. 4) Jungle only: Passive regen doesn't apply to monsters in any way. That leaves him with 0 sustain in the jungle and is the final nail in the coffin for pyke jungle. Otherwise, the passive is the reason pyke can be played into ranged match ups at all. 5) Mostly Mid: The new lethality changes. Since being unable to build hp apparently wasn't enough to convince people to go full glass cannon on a champ forced into a role with only half an income stream (who would have thought?), they basically removed all of his non-damage level scaling and replaced it by lethality scaling, which not only just breaks even after your standard Youmuous Drakhtar, which in of itself is a limiting itembuild that most assassins cannot deviate from, but also forces him without consideration of any other items other than tiamat to go buy exactly those two just to stay relevant in the game. Friendly reminder: An assassin needs to be AHEAD of his opponent to be good, now imagine one being behind the enemy by half their income by default. 6) Putting "support" in the kit: Gold share on ult just so an execute based character can be played support to gain gold on the one hand and not steal it from its team on the other hand. Maybe give darius/urgot/cho gold share on their ult and they might end up support too xd. For him to work mid despite those gimmicks, rushing tiamat is pretty much a necessity, which wasn't much a of a problem before the lethality changes. But now the delay of those items is fairly painful. Also, before DH was changed and electrocute was your only option, it was great to combo tiamat with q and aa to proc it. That being said, is kit is centered around taking favourable trades through his passive + d shield and second wind, chunking them low to then hit e (which often requires flash since many meta champions are mobile) and full combo with q auto taimat ult. As a few final words on the title of this post, Riot is planning to nerf him because he appears to be getting popular in solo lanes: Just accept that not every vision of yours, especially if it requires so many gimmicks, is fitting. Let people play Pyke as the assassin mid, of which we haven't got a new one since fucking 2012 with Zed btw (no, ekko is not an assassin, but a burst mage), that he should be, and if he is also a viable support, wonderful! TL;DR: Pyke is impaired by 5 gimmicks just to confine him into a role he does not naturally belong to. And in the spirit of "What's meta?" acknowledge that he belongs and deserves to be played mid, top and hopefully at some time jungle. If he is still viable as a support, even better, but that should be secondary. Edit: Just to clarify for the people who apparenty can't read the post. And if you do, remove the gimmicks you put in place to force a kit that naturally fits into jungle and mid to be played support. I get it, you wanted to do something "creative". But the last mid assassin we got was Zed in 2012 (Ekko is not an assassin), plus, as I said, him being unable to build hp just so he doesn't get played top/jungle and reducing his aoe on q while giving him extremely high base cds just so he sucks mid and jungle, is just poor game design. And despite the gimmicks you put in place, with tiamat, pyke mid was actually viable. So, if you want to nerf him, revert the lethality changes or move numbers around. And keep in mind, he is feast or famine, as are all assassins. Once he gets going, he should be doing well. But if he doesn't, he is pretty useless. Just because YOU wanted him to be played support doesn't mean he fits the role or should be played there. If he is, sure, good job. But don't take him away from the solo laners.

: We're testing the waters on showing stuff like that to all players on the loading screen with champ mastery being shown to all. If that goes well we're open to potentially including enemy borders too. Historically we're had some concerns around borders contributing to tilt, player frustration even before the game starts. Some feeling we've been overweighting the impact of that though and should just be showing a bit more, especially when it's on third party sites already as you say.
Considering the new boarders only show the current rank, the only reason for a player to be tilted would be to see that the enemies ranks are higher (or lower, yes, games are also unfun if they are too easy) across the board. And in that case it's not the fact that he saw the boarders (assuming he doesn't use 3rd parties anyway) that's tilting, it's the fact that your matchmaking didn't do it's job properly.
: Yasuo isn't a top lane. Except that he doesn't build bork and goes Rageblade into Titanic Hydra... (and if he were to build Bork after that, 200g don't matter). Conquerer is underperfoming in competitive play, but single handedly killed tanks in solo queue.

Hey Meddler, could you revisit the pyke changes on the PBE? The changes to his e seem good so far, but the changes to his ult and base stats are questionable. Taking away 180 hp from a champion that cannot compensate that is pretty huge. Additionally, it takes 250 bonus ad to compensate the base damage nerf on his ultimate, which translates into 4 items, which is too much. Possibly changing the ratio from 80 to 100 might help. Lastly, could you maybe remove the damage dropoff of his Q (tapped) against minions? This would help him succeed in other roles and diversify the champions potential.
: Please for the love of god look at {{champion:145}} gold funneling strat as it seems the most powerful so far(LCS/LCK). We got Yi,Taric,Nunu nerfs for this strat,but nothing about Kaisa.
The problem is that support items are still broken. The entire reason that strat is viable is because supports are on the one hand too good with too little items, and on the other hand get free gold. The entire reason the support role existed was the fact that the game only had 4 income streams for 5 people. The meta was always gold funneling, but because people without gold were useless back then, the most optimal way of gold funneling was using 1 income stream per player while having one player buying only utility/vision. Now, if you create an item that gives half an income stream, your entire team gets more gold by funneling into a hypercarry because each player deprived of one of the 4 income streams gets half an income stream from the support item alone.

The problem of botlane is much less the damage of the adc but rather the immense utility and protective power of the support. Even Apdo pointed out that support is by far the strongest role in the game and needs to be gutted. PS: What is going to happen with the melee crit users like Yasuo, GP, Tryndamere? Is there an option to bring back build diversity on Yasuo by not having him rely on building 2 crit items to deal meaningful damage? Crit chance on Triforce again pls?

Dear Riot, please stop forcing us to socialise, some/many people just want to play solo and don't want the friends list to open the whole time, let alone that large. The removal of solo queue hit us hard enough, and should be reverted, since you for one cannot see how many people are premades in each team and secondly, I simply want to have a fair game in which each solo player has the same chances to give proof of his skills. Stop shoving socialising features down our throats, if one wants to see his friendslist all the time, make it optional, that way, everybody feels satisfied. Besides, looking at about every single other gaming platform (Steam, Origin, BattleNet, UPlay, ...), each of those has a friendslist which can be minimised, it is a standard one should not change, LoL is not a social media platform. Regards D.P. PS: Regarding the premade aspect, take a look at Overwatch which after the most recent patch, displays premades perfectly and would allow clarity concerning the fairness of a match. Additionally, when a ranked game reaches the loading screen, you should be able to see each player's rank/MMR, because it gives transperency and most people look up stats like that on 3rd party programs anyway. If you want to improve the game, start with including the most commonly used features of 3rd party websites regarding statistics and general information.
