: That's not how vision score works. You don't get any vision score from placing wards. You get vision score by seeing an enemy that was previously unseen with a ward that you placed. One ward could get you 0 score and one ward could get you 5 vision score depending on how useful its placement is. http://i.imgur.com/4RKhoGk.png?1[]
That's actually not fully correct. Vision score is tied to your wards' lifetime. You get 1 point for each minute of a ward lifetime. Of course, there are modifiers. Like if a ward doesn't see any interesting unit over 60s, it's value start decreasing. So putting more wards does increase your vision score even if it's bit nerfed compared to placing good wards. Normal wards can't give 5 vision score since they die after 120s. Only a control ward that keeps surviving all the time while revealing interesting units can give that many points (but it's hard to have it survive and reveal units). Also, it's easy to avoid other lane abuses, this effect should be put on support items. So only supports get the exp.

Well, Riot said that there are very high chances that Shyvana will be the next rework after Voli and Fiddle since she was pretty close the them in term of votes. Her lore is pretty old (and bad) and there was no trace of her in the Lux comics. So we may know what happened on her reworks. Maybe she only stayed in Demacia for a while and then left to search for something. Or maybe an incident happened like some people got hurt (not doing in on purpose) and then Jarvan **had** to banish her from Demacia since he's the prince and that country hates magic. So he banished her and stayed full of regrets. After the introduction of Sylas and the Demacia rework, it actually seems pretty crazy to me that Demacia would accept a half magical dragon while they are imprisoning any mage they find and consider magic as an affliction/curse. Her whole relationship with Jarvan could actually have been hidden (since he isn't allowed to date a magical creature as the prince) and she was never actually accepted in Demacia. Then, they were found and he had to tell her goodbye. Anyways, the main point is, Jarvan's relationship with her, and actually Shyvana as a whole is a mess right now and we'll have to wait for her rework to have proper informations.

I wonder how that will go over "I hate people 'Like' you Shyvana not you specifically" because that makes a difference
In the Lux comics, he said that he "used" to love someone not so different from them (the mages). Which *possibly* implies that he doesn't love her anymore.

Well, it's just me speculating, but it could be that what Leblanc gave to Elise is the ability to steal some of Vilemaw's energy to renew herself. And of course, to do that safely, she'll need to keep him busy with food. Something like that.

: Okay can we talk about these Kayle and Morgana quotes though
I don't think it was ever implied they hate each others. Their whole lore are about the fact that they really love each others but their different values (especially Kayle's blindness about justice) make them impossible to coexist in peace.
: It would be nice to have actual information about Bandle City itself. Because right now we only know that "some yordles live there and they use weird random portals to enter"
Yeah exactly so getting informations about it is more important now than moving it forward.
: Would be nice to see the older Hextech Skins get updated to today's Quality Standards
Tbh, it would be totally lit if all thoses skins got updated and all the hextech skinline got added to the hextech loot system. But I don't think it will happen.

GreenLore (EUW)
: Honestly there are tons of ascended that we don't know about,so I don't know why a yordle ascended would be weird at this point, as he/she could simply be one of the ascended/darkin that we've never heard of. I mean one of the remaining darkin is almost certainly the sister of Varus, after all he should know if his sister is still alive or not. But we don't know anything about the 5th darkin and it is very likely that the 5th darkin will be just a new darkin that we've never heard from before.
I never said a yordle ascended would be weird. Yes there are a lot of ascended, and not all of them fought during the void wars (so not all of them turned into darkins). What I'm saying is that yordle turning into a darkin is unlikely. It's too big to have never been mentioned or hinted before. A random darkin added is different from a yordle one.
: > [{quoted}](name=Bidule Subtil,realm=EUW,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=pfnLxYHW,comment-id=0011,timestamp=2019-09-22T21:54:57.357+0000) > > 1) The Aspect of Targon are fighting against the void. Two humans (Kassadin and Kai'Sa) survived being in the void and gained power FROM it. > > 4) Darkin don't give a damn about anything now. I guess Aatrox would be kinda happy to have an endless fight if someone would have the idea to throw him in the void. Same for Rhaast. As for Varus I don't know. The darkin part of Varus is not very expressive. What Ryze fought was a high tier Voidborn not a Watcher. Watchers are IMMENSLY more powerful and HUGE ASF
I still think it's a watcher judging but the way it used those black tentacles to try to corrupt Ryze, especially the one on it's head. Keep in mind a few things : * That watcher had a very limited attacks it could use due to being behind an ice barrier * Being trapped in true ice for so long obviously weakened it quite a lot * Ryze is extremely powerful due to being marked with rune magic. So he isn't just an ordinary mage. So it was a weakened watcher fighting rune magic.

: Ascended have huge lifespans, so just because the darkin were ascended during Azirs era, doesn't mean that they weren't already ascended before it. As we've seen with Nasus and Renekton, the ascended are able to easily live for over 1000 years, so a shuriman could have ascended centuries before Azirs era and still be around during the time where the darkin-stuff happened.
Yeah I know that too, it's not about when the yordle ascended but when he turned darkin. All the darkins were created at one single point. At the end of the Azir era after the war against the void. So yes we can have an ascended yordle, but having him become a darkin is super unlikely since he should have been recognized during that time and should have also fought against the void with the rest of the ascended.
GreenLore (EUW)
: We don't know how the shurimans treated yordles though, so there might not have been any need for them to hide. I mean it is speculated that Amumu is/was a yordle and he was seemingly the emperor of Shurima at one point.
Yeah I know about Amumu, but I was talking about the Azir era specifically (were the darkin stuff happened). I don't think yordles were treated normally at that time.
Bevdog101 (OCE)
: Draven powers and strengths
Necrit did a video about it. Draven is the weakest champion there is lore wise. He didn't get any formal combat/military training. He have zero knowledge about tactics or fights and he's kinda stupid/full of himself. There was a part in the comics were he rushed first into a war to have the glory for himself and he almost got himself killed there. He's also not wearing any armor. So he would lose to any other champ.
GreenLore (EUW)
: To be fair, there is nothing that speaks against the possibility of a yordle ascended, so a darkin who used to be a yordle, would be possible(though its rather unlikely). The same would likely apply to vastaya as well, given that the kiilash live in the jungles of Ixtal, which used to be a part of the shuriman empire.
Vastaya are a different story. Basically, to become a darkin, that yordle should be a shuriman ascended around the Azir ruling era. So he should have lived and been recognized by them. Then he needs to have been a great warrior or sorcerer to be chosen to access the sun disk for the ascension. I'm pretty sure yordles couldn't just move around and live among humans easily during that time so that's extremely unlikely.

Ooh, you mean that the yordle is just the host, and not the darkin. Yeah, that's definitely possible ! It would be very interesting actually.
: A darkin:ed yordle would be cool.
I don't think that's possible with what we currently have. Unless we get some completely new crazy stuff added to the lore.
: The "5" Darkin
Hey there ! > Is anyone interested on how the Darkin came to be or like where the neck the other 2 are?! We do know about Varus, Aatrox and Rhaast (Rhaast came from Kayn). We already have the info about how the darkin were created. And no, Rhaast didn't come from Kayn. Shurima also have their own ascended just like mount targon. Here are some examples : * Targon ascended : {{champion:142}} {{champion:80}} {{champion:89}} * Shuriman ascended : {{champion:58}} {{champion:268}} {{champion:101}} During the void wars the shuriman ascended had to fight their horrors, and that made them turn crazy and lose some of their reason due to the void corruption and the atrocities they saw. Even if they won the war, the corruption was having a heavy toll on them and since they also lost their leader Azir. They just started fighting among themselves which also led to a lot of bloodshed and craziness. The shuriman ascended also discovered how to use blood magic, and used it to shape their bodies and armor to be stronger (this is why their forms may be a little weird and their color is red). Humans were powerless against them so the aspect of the twilight (Zoe) showed them a way to seal them inside their own weapons. That's how the darkins we know came to be. So right now, they are basically living weapons that can't do anything on their own. But if a human touch them, they take control of his body and then reshape it with blood magic to ressemble their old form as much as they can. They had many hosts during history before reaching the present day. The host either die in combat or they die after a while because human bodies can't stand the reshaping and they end up breaking apart. Aatrox's worst nightmare is that his host would die in a place far from wars/fighting so he would just fall under a rock (he is just a sword) so nobody would notice him ever again. His sword have no eye, so he just falls into the darkness waiting forever once he lose his host... Aatrox is a prime example of a body that have been completely taken over and that have been reshaped like his old form. Kayn is an example of a human with a very strong will that is resisting Rhaast's corruption and control (which is why only half of him have been reshaped). Once sealed, they were scattered around runeterra so that if some of them get freed, they won't immediately free all of their friends. We already know that the fourth one were freed before varus and is roaming runeterra somewhere. Because Varus went to save her but she wasn't there when he arrived (yeah, it's a she). > There recently has been a leak that riot is making a new champ! The armored looks simeler do a Darkin's armor! If you're talking about the girl with a huge canon behind her back. She seemed like a normal shuriman girl with normal red clothes (her canon and eyes look like hextech). I don't see how does that look like darkin armor? Or is there another leak I missed?
Bultz (NA)
: Some Darkin Questions
Sol completely wipe out an area super easily. He already killed a former pantheon (a targonian ascended) because he got mad. No human, even if they ascend can even get close to him in term of power. Each darkin is unique and have his own feature. Darkins are former shuriman ascended that got corrupted by the void and then changed their bodies with blood magic to grow stronger. Some other know shuriman ascended are : Nasus, Azir, Xerath. I gave you the examples to explain that they can be super different in shapes and powers. So I don't think that Rhaast have wings, but it's still a possibility. For the void part, shuriman ascended were actually made to fight the void. But they got corrupted by it and went crazy. Since they became too dangerous, humans had to seal them in their own weapons. So they want their revenge now since their own people betrayed them. They might help the void in their current state. But they might also help humans against it since they know how dangerous it is.

"I even loved someone not so different from all of you."
DalekZec (EUNE)
: At least the Jarvan X Shyvana is canon now. Although I'm guessing Jarvan will go back to his senses, he'd eventually get back to reason because it would be awkward to kill magical beings while his freaken girlfriend is a magical being too. Anyway, what surprised me more is when Garen discovered that Lux is a mage...and...he just embraced her. For years I've thought he'd disown her or something.
Can you point me out to where they mentioned Shyvana please? I missed that detail.
Jaspers (EUW)
: They can still fill it by making it that Lux is still part of Demacia, Garen just keeps things to himself. Lux being in Demecia and not on the run makes more sense because there needs to be a middle ground in this conflict. You know, an Xavier to Sylas's Magneto and The Government's Sentinels. Lux is perfect and should remain in Demacia helping who she can while there.
That's what I thought first, but after reading the story again, it seems highly unlikely for me. Everyone seemed so relax and toned down compared to how they would act if there was a revolution going around. There is also the fact that Garen took the leasure to bring four of the Dauntless Vanguard just to help his sister because he was suspecting she didn't come just to pay respect to the grave. Those are walking legends for demacia, so they would be pretty busy if it was after the revolution. Garen also said at the very end : > “We live in a world that does not allow for such nuances, Lux. Demacia is beset on all sides by terrible foes; savage tribes in the north, a rapacious empire in the east and the power of dark mages who threaten the very fabric of our realm. We deal in absolutes by necessity. Allowing doubt to cloud our judgement leaves us vulnerable. And I cannot allow us to become vulnerable.” As you can see, he mentioned all the problems like black mages and Noxus but nothing about the revolution.
UomoAfide (EUW)
: Yeah, but the ending means that the comic wasn't able to link its own story with the "current" state of things in Demacia. We still have a gap in the story that still need to be filled. Hence why Jhonny questions about the confusion brought up by "For Demacia".
I just read all of it again to have a clear idea. For Demacia seems to have occurred after Lux met Sylas because she had a better control of her magic. So it could be made between the moment she met Sylas and the revolution. They just need to remove her staff from it and it would perfectly make sense.

However, if I'm not mistaken, I *think* it was said that Yordles might be able to make portals? It's all super fuzzy and even if they can, there are probably certain conditions in which they can make them and etc.
They definitely can ! My take on it was that it's something that takes preparation and time. They can't be made instantly on need (this is just my own understanding, it's not officially confirmed). So since this is an urgent matter she'll have to run toward one already made in case of urgency, then go out of the closest one to the capital. For Demacia's communication, there is a rebellion in the capital, they even took over the castle and many important places. So on top of all the chaos and confusion there, the officer's forces can't move as easily (mages will kill them or imprison them). Don't forget that with their current technology (mediaval age) and without magic (cause demacia), their only means of communication over long distances is to send a person on a horse or demacian raptors (big flying mounts) or send a message bird. So it's definitely not super efficient. Countries like Noxus can use magic and others like Piltover can use Hextech devices.

: What did the 3 current Darkin look like before they were corrupted?
This [Slayed darkin](https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/darkin-to-slay-legends.jpg) image in the universe *might* be the former form of Aatrox. Their bodies are very similar, and they both have horns and wings. I'd like to believe that it was the majestic glory of his former form with angelic wings and white body/armor.
: I think most of the Demacian champs are just in name. They don't have the same loyalty and pride like Garen does. {{champion:236}} is off hunting demons {{champion:133}} is out in enemy territory {{champion:78}} is wandering and looking for the Hero of the Hammer {{champion:102}} I'm not sure about, but my guess is she's not near the city or feels she can't get involved {{champion:67}} I feel wouldn't care about plain magic, just evil magic.
Vayne is also out hunting for demons ;)
EdgeLady (NA)
: Hey, you guys are all forgetting about {{champion:78}}. I know that she's usually roaming around doing heroics while looking for a Demacian hero, but shouldn't this conflict have her beelining straight for the capital to pull off some more heroics while searching for the hero in all of this conflict? Hell, she could probably take a portal straight to it, if she wanted (though we don't know how well Yordle portals can work in Demacia due to the petricite and all that).
Not really. 1. As far as I know, the portals are set in certain places so she can't tp as she wants (not fully sure of this one). I'm saying this because of the images in the universe. They show specific zones with some kind of magical marks on them. It doesn't sound logical that she would herself make custom ones around demacia. 2. She doing heroic deeds in a huge region. : The way you describe Blind Pick it sounds like it's meant to be a kind of free-for-all. Unfortunately in practice that's not what I see happening most of the time. There are very few blind pick games I get into where people just lock in with no regard to positions. There also seems to be a high probability the opposing team will play the established position compositions and if the team I'm on doesn't we usually get stomped on hard. True, we don't get to see what the enemy team picks until everyone is locked in and the game is loading. To me that is what embodies "Blind Pick". But ignoring positions and coordination clearly puts a team at a significant disadvantage. Honestly, I feel like even vs AI matches should perhaps have position preference queueing as teaching these roles from the beginning to new players is kind of important. As it is, I feel the game really does very little to inform new players about positions, just throwing a few free champions at us but not really explaining or demonstrating what roles they play or where their abilities might best be utilized. I just see making position preference queueing a standard feature of all SR modes as a way to get people into games faster with less turmoil and drama and better inform new players of position roles. Also, having position queueing wouldn't necessarily prevent people from playing out of position and off meta. Heck, it could even be expanded on a little to allow for experimental position compositions. I just see it as a tool to aid in matchmaking that could have much wider use and benefit than its current limitation to Draft Pick games.
> The way you describe Blind Pick it sounds like it's meant to be a kind of free-for-all. Unfortunately in practice that's not what I see happening most of the time. To me that is what embodies "Blind Pick". But ignoring positions and coordination clearly puts a team at a significant disadvantage. What I'm saying is that Blind is what players wants it to be. It can be played as classic league (following the meta) or in any other ways as long as players agree on it. For example, there was a time where players on both teams agreed to group mid and stay there all game long for a super fun fiesta. It was so popular that Riot made a different map for it : The Howling Abyss. ARAM basically means "All Random All Mid". Blind also serves as an entry queue for new players who got no idea about the game. I know that in practice, players end up playing normal meta in it and just call positions in the chat during champion select. Most of the time, Blind is played as a draft without bans and with champion duplicates. While the idea is interesting to teach new players about positions, I don't think it's very wise. I'm very close to new players and I introduced many to league and trust me, having extra constraints is the last thing they need. It's already not easy to use your spells correctly, try to last hit and watch out for the enemy laners. Shopping is hell for them. So adding to that "You should play a specific role" is impossible. Have you ever seen new players play? There is no way a support will know what he must do. Nobody helps the jungler in the first camp. They don't even notice pings or look at the mini map. And junglers 100% get executed by jungle monsters all the time. Players need a lot of time to adapt and get more confortable with the controls before thinking about roles or macro. It definitely would. If positions are decided beforehand like the actual draft pick, you'll simply get reported and banned if you don't play your respective position (like a jungler wanting to duo top). You'll basically need a full premade team to avoid that. ___ I think you're trying to force things into a mode that's not meant for them. If you really want to follow the meta and have positional queuing, that's basically why draft was made. If you just want to play your champ and not worry about bans or positions, then go Blind. A hybrid queue between the two can't be made unfortunately. Didn't you say ? > I've learned to pre-plan a few champions I'm good enough at so I can be flexible and work around conflicts, but that doesn't really help when the conflict is between two or more other players on the team who want the same role or even the same champion. If you have a few champs and you're flexible enough, then bans shouldn't be a problem and you won't have to worry about conflict between other players in draft.
: Phrasing it as Draft without bans feels kinda backward to me... Here's where I'm coming from; I play a bunch of other games. Some of them make players que for roles first in order to at least try to ensure a balanced team. At least two of these games inform players when a particular role is in need of players. That's essentially what I'm asking for. Blind with Role preference queueing. That would allow people who want to play a less serious game to que up for their two favorite roles, or their favorite role and fill, or all fill if they just don't care, or roles they feel good enough about in vs AI that they maybe want to try against a real opposing team but not have to sit through the draft process in order to actually get the role and not have to fight someone in pre-game chat for it. I've played Blind... I'm sorry, but if the point of it is to pick blindly then it needs a random champion button or something because I seriously doubt people are picking blindly. I have been in far too many Blind pre-game pick screens watching people argue over a role or champion, it seems like maybe people are taking Blind a bit too seriously.
Pick blindly means that you can instalock the champion you want without caring about your position, what enemies pick or having it banned. You can play duo top without a jungler and you can also play Ashe top even if that's not meta. New players can easily dive into it without knowing anything about champs or positions. They just walk into an available lane and start playing. It also helps since they have a very limited champion pool. That's the whole idea behind it. I totally understand your point, I personally stopped playing blind for that exact reason, many keep fighting for positions and start trolling if they don't get what they want. So I feel you. What I'm trying to say is that blind is designed to be very accessible with 0 barrier (doesn't require knowledge or choosing anything, you just queue directly and start playing your champion). So Riot won't change that since it will reduce it's accessibility. Of course, the cost of that it will show many flaws that you pointed out when people want to start playing correctly. But it's normal since it's not the objective of the mode.
: Bleh... that makes sense. Well, then why not have role queuing for blind picks at least?
Right now it's more like : * Blind : A less serious queue to pick whatever you want wherever you want and find a match super fast * Draft : A more serious one with the full experience and slower queue times (but it's compensated by the fact that way more people play draft). The whole point of blind is to pick blindly so I doubt they'll change that. It would make everybody go crazy. At the same time, they can't add a hybrid queue, like draft without bans and with the possibility of enemies picking the same. Riot wouldn't like dividing people into too many queues. Because again, queue times.
: Draft Pick isn't quite what I mean. I want to choose a role and champion before matchmaking, I don't want to do a draft phase where the champion I want to play (read as one of the 3 I actually know how to play decently so far) might get banned. Maybe someday I'll do Draft but that's not what I want right now.
Ooh I see. I'm afraid it won't happen. Similar systems were tested before and didn't work. Champions and roles don't have the same popularity (that's why autofill exist in draft pick for roles, and it's gonna be worst if specific champs are added). The queue time will be 30min or longer each time since everybody will want to play the same lanes and champions. For example : Mid Yasuo. Picking a champion beforehand won't be possible.
: Feature request: Matchmaking based on desired role(s) and/or champion(s)
I assume you're always playing in blind pick? Because that option already exist, it's called draft pick.

: Pretty unlikely. We know some players really loved Odyssey and Star Guardian and went deep on them. Vast majority of folks though tried it briefly and then went back to playing other modes despite things like high difficulties and more missions available they hadn't done. Makes it really hard to justify putting dev time into those modes instead of others as a result, though we realize that does suck for those who did really enjoy them. Not impossible we bring one of the previous ones back at some point, given most of the work's already been done. Nothing concrete planned there, but it's one of the possibilities we'll be comparing.
Hey there Meddler ! I think that you guys are missing a very important point here about what the community want/expect vs what Riot want/expect. You're mainly judging the success of a gamemode by how much people played it and that's to me, completely missing the point of those modes. Playing modes like the PVE Odyssey and Nexus Blitz have been my best league experience of all time. I had a blast blowing all those space monsters in Odyssey with overpowered augments or preparing my items specifically to win the next event in Nexus Blitz. Those modes are very valuable because they are a fresh experience and make us play something very different from usual SR. We want those modes to be temporary and we know we're gonna drop them after a while. Their main value is to experience a very fresh and different experience at least once a year, not to have them permanently. Players will always come back to SR no matter what mode you make. That's the main league experience and that's where the most competitive play is (TFT is a completely different game, so it doesn't abide to the "modes" rule). It's totally understandable that Riot gets disappointed when people drop a mode because you guys are expecting it to be long lasting so you think of it as a failure. But it's the total opposite, those modes were a big success for the player base and they totally hit their objective (for us). I would really love you guys to reconsider your decision about them. And next time you make them, if that ever happen. Do it with the full knowledge that they are gonna be temporary and a huge refreshment and mood raiser for the players rather than a long lasting mode.

: Funniest part about these eternals
Sorry to disappoint you but : > **Can I turn off Eternals milestones and displays?** > There’s nothing wrong with a bit of secrecy and subterfuge (just ask Zed!) Players will have several options to mute Eternals milestones in-game (All On, Self + Team Only, and completely Off). However, Eternals will always be shown on the death screen and on the back of the player card in the loading screen. Source : [FAQ: Eternals Coming in Patch 9.17](https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/features/faq-eternals-coming-patch-917) > When you kill someone, your Eternals will be featured in your enemy's death screen. Source : [KenAdamsNSA Rioter Tweet](https://twitter.com/KenAdamsNSA/status/1161331208355057664) ___ Basically speaking, you'll be forced to see them each time you are killed.

: TL;DR Lore: The Void
I'm extremely thankful for you hard work and this quality post. I'm a huge fan of the lore but I was getting overwhelmed by all the reworks and new stories. This helped me catch up. Are you planning to do the same for other regions?
: > [{quoted}](name=Doom emissary,realm=EUW,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=57xHrIXG,comment-id=000100000000,timestamp=2019-07-17T17:56:27.392+0000) > That was already covered by my point. If you are only using it as last resort, then there are chances you'll end up facing him end beat him. Ofc. ...like with every other enemy you may face. Is not a disadvantage at all, is just a way of saying "you can't cheat in EVERY aspect of the game", and on that ofc I agree. Plus, you can coordinate with them: if you wanna keep up your winning streak you can tell them to put shit on the field, if you wanna do the opposite to bring up the A game and so forth. > LOL and TFT work differently. It's very hard for an automated system to detect someone soft inting in league. But is it fairly easy to detect when someone is doing that in TFT by comparing what he have on his bench (like having awesome synergies and 3 stars) or what he sold compared to what he put on the arena. That would be a TERRIBLE idea. I do that kind of stuff a LOT and I am legit playing to win...just with strategies that involve a lot of losses on purpose (even late game, sometimes, btw) when I think is beneficial to me. And last game I lost cause I DESTROYED my best synergies before a decisive fight...because I legit fucked up being pressed by the timer (lost my 6 noble AND my guardian ones, the first being the one I was aiming for the whole game). A GIANT mistake? Of course. An intentional one? Not on your life, I raged quite hard for that. An automated system can't judge that kind of stuff at all cause is a game mode where TONS of legit fucking up happens in every match: and outside very fringe, non realistic scenarios (you don't need to "put 10 lvl 1 guys late game" to lose a battle AT ALL, very subtle tweaks are more than enough to achieve the result) even for a HUMAN would be quite hard to tell. And remember Riot (understandable) policy: "we can ban that stuff only when we are 137% sure the guy is guilty: we rather let 100 trolls walk away than penalize an innocent player". Other than that, cmon. On paper detecting an obvious inter should be a joke...and is STILL something SUPER hard for the system, even if the guy basically run down mid.
> I do that kind of stuff a LOT and I am legit playing to win...just with strategies that involve a lot of losses on purpose (even late game, sometimes, btw) when I think is beneficial to me. In what kind of scenario would you want to lose late game? I've never thought of that :o > (you don't need to "put 10 lvl 1 guys late game" to lose a battle AT ALL, very subtle tweaks are more than enough to achieve the result) even for a HUMAN would be quite hard to tell. Yup I already know that. If you just want to int and not be detected, it's quite easy, but any serious tweaks will make you lose less HP so your strategy of losing super hard and fast to save your friend from the 7/8th spot will also fail. Remember, the point is not that you int yourself for free, but that you do it to save your hard losing friend from getting last place.

But that also means that you'll take massive damage from all other 7 players (you only have 2/9 chances to face your allies) and will die before even facing your friend. If you want to survive to help him later, you need a decent team, and that might make you win against him if you face him. You partially misunderstood me on that one. I meant the "we will aim for 7th and 8th place on purpose" strategy as a last resort, if the one supposed to do well is sinking super hard and there is no way to help him other than losing super fast to at least spare him a last place (which is SUPER easy to do btw: putting on the field random tier 1 champs with no synergies is basically a death sentence, I NEVER have problem losing when I want to). The initial idea would be "let's try to help him rigging the carousel in his favor, picking champions that could hurt his strategy if chosen by other players etc"; and I am sure that I still missing a lot of other possible malicious interactions > Plus, they will be detected/reported and banned easily if they do something that obvious. I REALLY don't think that would be the case. Take LoL: atm you can troll in SUPER obvious ways and still be almost unbannable (the korean duo with a ZERO % win rate in over FOUR HUNDREDS GAMES says it all; they got eventually busted ONLY thanks to reddit, despite totally trolling an OBSCENE amount of games). Same old story: an automated system can work fairly well when it needs to spot flamers, but is REAAALLY bad when it needs to understand what's "trolling" and what's not, even in situations SUPER clear to a human being. > What do you think? I think the impact will be low, but mostly because the people won't care enough to commit that much effort to cheat the system. Still, there is room for some concerns IMO.
> Not true; if you queue up with other 2 you are up against only 5 true enemies. Yeah you're right. I was using wrong number, my bad. That was already covered by my point. If you are only using it as last resort, then there are chances you'll end up facing him end beat him. So you're gonna make him lose HP and hurt him a lot instead of helping him. So you might be the cause he sinks super hard. If you guys choose to have medium/bad teams to make sure he always beat you if you end up against him, you might all sink and always be in the 7/8th situation. The fact that there are 5 other players and that you can't know who you'll be playing against before organizing your arena makes it hard to help consistently. You'll be able to do it in some games, but you'll mess up a lot in others. > Same old story: an automated system can work fairly well when it needs to spot flamers, but is REAAALLY bad when it needs to understand what's "trolling" and what's not, even in situations SUPER clear to a human being. But is it fairly easy to detect when someone is doing that in TFT by comparing what he have on his bench (like having awesome synergies and 3 stars) or what he sold compared to what he put on the arena. It just needs to compare units rather than understand a behavior like in league. Someone selling all his 3/2 stars in round 25 to only put new units with 0 synergies can be detected by an automated system without a problem. ___ I'm not saying the system is foolproof. I'm just saying that it's very nature will make it hard for people to boost consistently.
: Isn't the new ranked TFT system easily exploitable?
First, don't forget that they are 5 other players trying to win and that you don't choose who to play against each round. Secondly, It's not like league where you can control your champ and let your friend kill you. There is also the fact that the game will always take champs from your bench and put them in the arena if you don't have enough (so you can't play with less champs than your level). Your arena is also locked **before** you can see who you are playing against (so you can't sell last minute). The only way to guarantee your loss is not to buy anything (keep an empty bench) or only put tier 1 units with 1 star. But that also means that you'll take massive damage from all other 5 players (you only have 2/7 chances to face your allies) and will die before even facing your friend. If you want to survive to help him later, you need a decent team, and that might make you win against him if you face him. Thirdly, If they keep going for 7th and 8th place (to leave you with 6 possible placements), they can easily derank so you won't be able to keep playing with them. Plus, they will be detected/reported and banned easily if they do something that obvious. Same thing if they group to block someone in the carousel, they can be reported and then banned quickly. If they buy your counters and keep them on the bench while putting 1 star units on their arena, they will take massive damage from other players and might die super early so their impact in helping you or denying others will not be that big (especially since nobody knows how his team will look late game). If they put them on their arena, they might face you and make you lose HP. I'm not saying that there is no way to help your friends or boost them. I'm just saying that the impact will be very small and rare due to the nature of the game. What do you think?
: 26th it should be released on all servers
Yes ! Unless some major issues pop up, that's the release date on live servers

That's what Riot **officially** announced and even in live, it will be considered as a beta. Also, they did the same with nexus blitz so I don't see why they can't now.
: Over 9000 is a scam
It's the queue that's over 9000, not the server capacity. The queue can't connect many people at once because it was never meant to do that. PBE wasn't expected to have that many people logging in. But the server in itself can hold much more than 9000.
: Less drop rng is important, I think. I played a couple games this morning and I'm walking back my thoughts a bit; it's still important to get good units. But that's *also* rng dependent. I grabbed an ahri as my first champ in my last game, and despite the fact that *none* of my opponents had any, I still didn't see another one until a couple people had been knocked out. Really hard to win when you're counting on finding those. And it feels stupid not to when no one else is hoarding them... the odds are in your favor, but it's still about the RNG. I'm realizing that this game mode is partially just the antithesis of SR. So much luck.
Actually, this is a part of the strategy of this game. You need to know when to quit looking for a specific champ and use what you get instead of saying "I want an sorcerer team" and trying to get only that. You'll end up not getting it and losing while you were missing tons of other good stuff. I was always getting crushed until I realized that. Use what you get instead of what you want ;) Also, selling a unit will give you the same gold you used to buy it, so don't worry about benching your beloved units to put stronger ones temporarily. For example, a 2 knight synergy is the strongest early game, so you can keep upgrading your 2 knights to win rounds and get gold and then sell them once you have the sorcerers you need. You can also buy a lot of different stuff early to be more flexible and then specialize depending on what you get after that. That won't make you lose any gold. I didn't feel that the RNG is that bad on champions, items were the real problem since they were so OP and the number players get is so different. I definitely agree with you that less drop RNG is super important on items.

: he meant disappear like they play on the live servers and will disappear on the pbe so they wont have an impact to the performance of the servers anymore.
Yes exactly, I meant that all of them will go play on the live servers that are much more stable, have more capacity (no waiting time on login) and are "official" so they keep their rewards and everything on their main account. Which means that pbe will go back to it's normal state in terms of population.
: Are the comps too unimportant?
Having tested the mode, here's what I think : Both teams that relies on synergies (not all synergies are equal) and teams that relies on protecting a carry are very strong and viable. The real problem is items : They seem pretty fine at first glance, but the randomness makes them broken. {{item:3124}} gives attack speed and stacks infinity (yeah you heard that right : infinitly, so as long as your frontlines gain enough time for it to stack, adc can 1v9 with some lifesteal) + {{item:3085}} makes you hit multiple targets. If you get both on a 3star adc, it's gg. The problem is, you might be lucky and get both, but another player might get 0 drops from his pve rounds. So he'll obviously be much weaker than you. He'll get easy wins in the first rounds, then get tons of win streak gold ==> more interest => more gold => more op champs and more champs on the board. The snowball mechanic is very harsh so the guy who got good items at the start have huge chances of winning while the guy behind can never catch up. And your carry doesn't have to be an adc, just have to be a 3 star unit, I once put 3 items on a gnar (attack speed/life steal/tankyness) + shapeshifter synergy (gives him 100% of his max health at transform). He was basically unkillable and was 1v9 everyone. So I would personally propose this to be fixed by reducing RNG on items and making everybody drop the same number of them. And/Or reduce the number of items a person can have so you have to switch strategically between your items depending on your enemies instead of having a player with 6 items and another player with 1.
