If game become too fast and short people migrate for same but better executed games also there is one point for longer games - it all began with looong games, everybody know for what they are signed up and while years before there was plenty of slow strategic games nowadays there are non and its free market opportunity especially when you cannot compete with over-saturated market of "fortnite" games. Micro and macro is tough discussion everybody has his own opinion what it is or if it work in game or how important it is. But as far as kills goes killing opponent should give you advantage to do something about objectives not snowballing you to no end. Most games today are just deadmatch until opponent collapse not able contest as whole team that one "carry" and only then taking objectives come to play because its only of two options how end game second is surrender but if wining objective will be rack 100 kills as team i guarantee you it will be most contested winning condition ever and towers will be there only for breaking stalemate. I dont want oneshoting ap malphite and i dont want game be to be full of oneshot champs. But nerfing defense and almost always solving problems with damage buffs is leading just for that. I dont see any uniques in lee sin he jump on you kill you a run away same as any other assassin, Jarvan is same with only difference he cannot disengage so easily but its possible, problem is still same he jump on you across the screen and kill anything he touch short of most tanky champion in game, nothing different from assassins only that these "not really assassins" work better then full fledged assassins. Introduction of antimobilty feels flat because is slapped on poppy who has this nieche already and is not popular pick at all, for ahri its just bonus point but mechanic was there already. for cass well she and renecton will be broken and tahm will look like nothing in comparison. They have good intentions but completely miss the targets and slapped it on champions for who it doesn't matter anything or doesn't need this power in the first place only for tip them over to broken state.
ok besides the macro/micro discussion, which looks like to go an never ending cycle (i think macro will always be a minor part in soloq and the major part in premade play), i want to focus on 2 things from your post that looked really strange to me. 1. role of the jungler. i heavily disagree on the role as assassine haven or even a redundant role. jungle is the position of the "carry support". a role which coordinates the teams obj gameplay and supports lanes via ganks or vision. pve is just feature to generate gold, which is something botlane supps didnt have for a long time (there were times in proplay where the supp had nothing than gold per time items and wards). which made it the least splayed role for years. 2. you completly overestimate the ability of lee and j4 to do dmg. they have strong early dmg, but if they want to do this dmg mid to lategame, they have to invest in assassine items, making them really easy to catch and kill. a standart build on standart economy j4, pant or lee cant 1shot a squichy with atleast 1 defensive item or with the support shilding/healing. those champions are made to dominate early. they fall off a cliff later (patheon after 25 min is a meme). snowball or lose. of course it sucks to pay a assassine/diver "tax" by being forced into tabis/bt or pd, but after these items you should be fine in most scenarios (unless j4 is 15/2, but then it is gg anyways)

: Here's everything I don't like about this thread: 1) "Control mage" isn't a class. The mages you're currently advocating for are largely burst mages, but you also seemed to lump in Swain, a Battle Mage, and Ziggs, an artillery mage, into this mix of burst mages. 1a) The burst mages you lumped together are VASTLY different. Syndra is designed to spike in the mid game and nullify enemy carries from a safe distance. Veigar is a late game champ that's designed to more efficiently nullify *anyone* as time passes and his ap increases. Lissandra is a utility pick that garners more damage if she can chain her passive on stragglers, but is largely used for her very reliable cc and fight stalling capabilities. Viktor is a late game scaler with more uptime in fights than Veigar, but less single target burst than him. Vastly different roles, but you lump them together and say they do "no damage"...which is bonkers. 1b) Given the fact that you're complaining about burst mages, why are you putting NEEKO on the antagonistic side of your argument? She's a burst mage that has two rounds of hard cc. How does that not fit into your "control mage" category? Not saying you're right in even talking about a sub-class that doesn't exist, but this is literal hypocrisy. On that note, why are you complaining about Zoe, another burst mage? I honestly could go on with this but I digress since there's other shit to go on about. 2) You seem to not understand why assassins have lower cds and mobility in comparison to mages. Assassins are normally *melee* champs. Without gap closers, they wouldn't be able to do their job of quickly descending on targets and bursting them. On top of that, they need lower cds because, unlike most mages, they're *practically useless* unless their whole rotation's up or they're insanely fed. Mages can be useful in a fight through cc. Most assassins don't have strong cc options to prove useful in a fight. 3) A mage's escape tool is their cc. You don't need a big ass dash when you're already a ranged champ with hard cc. 4) Mages have plenty of defensive itemization. They can literally build a spell shield, after all. The problem is that people look at 60 magic resist, 10% cdr, and 75 ap and go "...man I have NO defensive options". Not to mention mages have plenty of ap + hp items in the game. If you don't want to use your tools, don't, but stop complaining that you don't have them. 5) Juggernauts and tanks are designed to deal with mages, especially mid game oriented burst mages that can't burst through people that build defensive stats. You complaining about it just means they're doing their job.

: It's dillusional to think that jungle is somehow a bad role. Unlike other roles, you can't find yourself stuck in a farm lane praying that no one feeds so the game isn't over by the time laning phase ends. Or a support going Sona into Blitz, auto fucking your lane. You don't have to worry about getting zoned off CS by a Neeko top as a melee only to get tower dove the instant the huge wave crashes into your tower. You don't have to worry about being a poke mage Mid against Zed and play defensively so you don't die only for him to run bot lane and tower dive your bot, get a double kill and come back mid to make you his bitch the rest of the game. Jungle can get invaded, but there's ways to play around that. All lanes can feed and jungle can be screwed, but if you sit down and hard camped a lane then you at least have the 'ability' to make one lane come out a winner. Even skuttles can be worked around. If you can't get one, gank instead. There are always options, there is always something a jungler can do. It doesn't always work, but hell, you have the ability to try it. That can't be said about other lanes, sometimes you queue into a game and you're just fucked.

: I actually have had more trouble with champs that are incredibly strong at lv 2 like Xin, Lee, and Vi. Until something changes with jungle I'm basically an Ivern onetrick.

Riot needs to remove spell effects from ludens/runic. you already mentioned scorch und keystones, but it goes even further: it procs rylais and liandrys. wanna lose 15% of your hp? just stand next to a minion (the range needs a heavy nerf too) watch how a missed skillshot from highskill cap mages still hits you! mages need buffs to their kits and nerfs to their items. their items are so overtuned, it isnt funny anymore. remove spell effects from ludens, nerf the % pen on void. mages are so item dependent. get gold and be the strongest class in the game or dont get gold and be completly useless. tanks/bruisers atleast offer basestats, most assassines can still deal a good portion of a squichy with enough lvl. remember how op aftershock liss was? exept she was not, she was just best in slot, while being less item dependent.

If anything, almost every heavy hitting item has been nerfed in terms of raw AP/AD in favor of CDR. Just look at Yommus. 70 AD and 20 flat armour pen and atk speed boost for 55 AD, 18 lethality (realisticallly you don’t get past 13 arm pen). Same goes for not having DFG, flat AP values on most items lowered. Let’s not even mention ADC items which have been nerfed into the ground. I guess void staff and deathcap have been objectively power crept (to compensate for lower AP vals - but according to Boards AP is weak btw so I guess that doesn’t matter). In fact, in terms of raw power Leblanc is a fuckton weaker than 2015 Leblanc while still being S+ tier now. You wanna know why? Because everything keeps getting nerfed to the point that she’s still OP. Same for Lucian. Completely butchered compared to 2016 Lucian but still OP bexause of how hard other ADCs were nerfed. Name me one champion that has a 55% win rate and I’ll name you 5 < 45%. Someone actually disprove me on this. Show me that Riot actually buffs things more than they nerf looking at patches from this whole season. Fact: you can’t, because it isn’t true. They always nerf more. The only damage creep rn is worse defensive runes, more damage runes, and more specifically conquered, dark harvest and ignite being over tuned. me too my friend. the boards make you more toxic then 5 years of maining jungle. 2 weeks ago, i got so angry about the 10000th irelia cry threat from a freaking jax main (boi!) that i flamed jax mains so hard, that i got a 1 temp boards ban. i never got a penalty ingame and prob never will, even with years of getting blamed by everyone as the jungler, ardent cancer metas, etc. what did i learn? dont read too much gameplay on boards. and neither should you. btw really good thread.

yeah, i still think turret plating was a step into the right direction, but they really need some fine tuning. the plates should give less gold and inner turrets should be tankier then outer.

I agree on your observation. i think this has 2 major reasons. 1. the tower plats give to much money. so winning lanes dont take tower, but create a big item advantage. 2. the towers after 14 min are softer then paper. and with the item adventage on early game champs they drop even faster. i think the game snowballs faster and ealier then before, you just see the results later then before. but maybe LS is right and it is just a question of time until players adept and games go longer. i really hope he is right on this 1, because 20 min games are too short imo.

: I personally think aftershock gives Vi the tankiness she needs to be a diver, but do I think it's a good idea to make a rune 100% necessary to play a champ? No. And even if Vi has aftershock, she's still not even a good pick. Vi is just outdated and weird. I think removing the speed reduction on her q and either adding a debuff that reduces dmg taken from a specific target to her w or e could help. Or just adding a shield/ resistances buff to her R or give her shields/resistances every time she procs her w. A lot of champions can literally just out run Vi's q now. Vi is pretty much only good against older champions, because she was designed to be a vault breaker for them. Now she sucks imo.
i tried to make aftershock work many many times. you still lose too much dmg and the window of tankiness is too short. metroid went to phase rush + full dmg. it works for him, but it is basically an assassine build.

Whenever I played jax previously, I rarely even got a chance to use it E it only affects auto attacks, has never been a problem previously and when he is going to use it is a dead giveaway... isn't Vi even easier to use than jax with her targeted, long range, unstoppable ult; her ranged engage auto attacks that also serve as an auto attack reset... ; a shield that accounts for 10% of her maximum health for landing any of her damaging abilities (with 8 second static cooldown) , percent maximum health damage on the same auto attack counter as Jax ; able to reduce the target's armor by 20% ; their kits are very similar with only like 3 differences between them and those are minor being: she gains a shield instead of armor and magic resist and Jax can queue his auto attack counter and jax's counterstrike, which is similar to her ultimate but not the same she requires no targets, has greater range, gains similar attack speed boost (vi has up to 50% , jax has up to 88 %) and her engage is UNSTOPPABLE

"requires a target" is really good joke my friend. it is a fcking point and click ability that even works on wards, with a low cd 3. vi has a skillshot. skillshot. if you miss it, you lose a major part of your burst + you are out of position. where is the basic counter to jax?! oh, wait, there is none! all his shit is point and click or just rightclick. 4. if vi goes in with ult, she only has a shild for 10% max hp. jax has auto dodge+ aoe dmg reduc from e + stupid amounts of armor and mr. pls dont compare that. nice lvl 30 boards account.

i think riot never understood this class at all. even in times where champions have a clear role with strengths and weaknesses, tanks are lame. they are a.) better fighters with stupidly high base stat and dmg (!!!), and preventing players from choosing any other form of melee champ. or b.) absolutly unplayable garbage IMO there are golden rules to LoL. you cant have have high dmg, tankiness and cc (without items) at the same time. tanks break this rule. the reworked sej on release was able to cc your champ for ever (there is way too much cc in the game anyways), burst 50-60% hp of a squichy, while taking 0 dmg thanks to the passive. how the fck is this fair? there is no answer to this. i cant control my character for like 3-4 seconds, while eating stupid amounts of dmg and my team cant even kill this monster of a design fail. remember the times when the only answer to retard grasp mao top was darius? fcking darius! i know it will hurt some tank players feelings, but having a champ that is way stronger in lane AND way more useful in teamfights is not a sign of good champion design. at all. other walking stat monsters with too much of everything: every "support" tank ever. when support ali with no items kills you 1vs1. great design. so how to fix this class? 1. lower their dmg against champions. by a lot. and no more % hp! (ornn on the pbe, WTFF) 2. increase their dmg vs minions (a bit) and vs monsters (by a lot) . give them better jungling and objective control. 3. make their cc last way shorter, but make it more repeatable. this would make it more fair to play vs a tank, but it would still give them threat in teamfights. example: mao w root duration down to 1 sec on highest rank, but cd (with 40% cdr) down to 4 or 5 secs. 4. give them more base tankiness and increase their scaling with items. your sion should not able to kill their irelia, but she should not destroy him instantly either. i know this will lead to more "wet-noodle-fights" in proplay. but who cares? this year was good for proplay (worlds were nice), but next season we should get a "good season". 5. this will take the most effort: give every tank its own role. when seju was reworked and shown as the great leader, that leads her team into battle, i expected more than just a "im a dumb cc machine and i cc you even faster with more melees around me". where is the armor buff for melee allies?! where is the ms boost for ranged allies towards frozen (stunned) enemies?! mao hates mages, right? make rooted targets deal 25% less magic dmg! 6. kick out mechanics that are extremely toxic and antifun. rammus punishes you for autoattacking! you should be rewarded for autoattacking, not killed by rammus w+thornnail. this will make tanks less desired in proplay, but way more fun to play and play against in normals and yolo q. 1. sorry for my horrible english 2. im guilty myself, abusing rammus vs poor silver adcs in normals (highest dmg in game as "tank" jungler, lol)
