: Darkin Question's
1) Considering the fact the Void feed on magic, it would likely consume them. 2) Unlikely as Naga seems god status and would kill them. 3) Yes, it does damage, doesn't it? 4) I presume the healing they have is a form of the blood magic they mention. 5) With only 3 dudes in malformed bodies against gods and armies of Runeterra? They'd lose.
: Concept skin : KDA Lux, Syndra, Miss Fortune dans Riven
MF needs bigger shoulder pads. I'm talking 1980s things, that's what we need.
: The Void wants to stop everything in the universe from existing. This includes Runeterra as well as every star Aurelion Sol and his kind have created. So I would definitely consider the Void a bigger threat than Aurelion Sol. That narcisstic space lizard is absolutely overrated.
The Void is a insentient state in an alternate dimension. The Void 'stops' if there is a lack of magic or organic matter to feed/spread on. https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/region/void/?mv=image-gallery (look for the image Salt of the Void and it's description). The Watchers want to end life as they can hear it and don't like it (or are jealous, I forget which) but the question was about Runeterra and an unshackled Sol would obliterate Runeterra. What's the Void going to do? Spread a bit then just sit there? Some threat.
: Who is the biggest threat to Runeterra?
{{champion:136}} Runeterra's existance relies on the fact that Sol is still somewhat under Targonian control. All those other problems are just a threat to life on Runeterra, they are not a threat to Runeterra.

: Manaless Champions
Old Aatrox was well done in terms of being gated while being manaless. He lacked power IF he wasn't fully stacked on his passive. It meant he had to manage the passive, not only to get the revive but to maximise his damage. Rumble and Renekton have to do this too. With new Aatrox they removed that, no HP costs at all (although the mini rework in 2017 removed most of that for Aatrox except his E), he heals stupid amounts at no cost, unlike Vlad or Zac and his revive was reduced to the press of a button. This is why I prefered old Aatrox over new, the way he played was more fun and wasn't about just spamming your abilities (plus the attack speed buff). They need to bring that kind of thing back, even if it's small. Aatrox is perfect for that kind of thing, make W and Q cost HP, consdering he'll get it back if he lands the empowered auto and his abilities thanks to E. Then they could add back in the E working on minions.

If anything it would be easier to balance by removing the leaver of runes all together. Because if you nerf Conqueror that nerf will hit one champ harder than another. That's why you tweak them the same way as SR, but separately for ARAM til they're built for it. Runes are now integrated into balance. Putting a bunch of invisible stat modifiers on champs is a total mess.
Exactly, there is no reason why Nocturne needs 10% extra damage, with or without it, he will pop a squishy target, no reason Kai'Sa needs to have damage buff when you never even see her because she's firing W's from fog of war only or why certain tanks need to absorb more damage even after building pure resistances. Ziggs has -15% poke damage and -15% overall, put that against a champ who has -10% taken meaning his level 1 ult could only deal 180 (120) damage to someone (base damage) if hit in the middle, that's less than Nami's ult. He's an idea, remove ALL balancing, including Sona's nerfed heal stat and put the poke to 15% but if you are melee, it's 20%.

Dienekes suggested that Rhaast before becoming Ascended could have been an assassin. Assassin's are murderers. Literally part of the description. I personally cannot see how Rhaast was ever worthy. He's a homicidal maniac. Other Darkin don't seem that mad. But again that's my problem, the process of Ascension was meant to be the great special ritual, honouring people who served the empire with great distinction, rewarding them with great power and long life etc right? What Darkin lore update did was remove that and turned all Ascended in to nothing but soldiers. Big cannons to be aimed. No wonder Icathia unleashed the Void.

: Appreciation for Lore Comics
The amount of work, whether I like the direction or not, that Riot have put into the lore side of things is impressive, considering it makes them no money. Well, the TPB of the comics will hopefully and in turn maybe that will allow them to do more with the world, maybe even expand in other medias or game types as well.
: I don’t see why they would. In history the true dangers to the throne are generals, politicians, and bureaucrats. People with the experience and the drive to control people and the strings of government. I honestly can’t think of any assassin that tried for the crown. Well, no. I guess the Old Man of the Mountain sort of was trying to gain political power. But he was more of a cult leader than an active assassin himself. On the contrary, people who owe their political rise to a patron, such as soldiers, knights, and brigands tend to be fairly loyal to their patrons, since being loyal is what gave them power in the first place. Honestly, of all the Ascended, Nasus and the one war queen who died are likely the most dangerous choices for Ascension. Nasus’ loyalty is only really tied to the fact he happens to have personal honor, which is more a stroke of luck than anything. But a brilliant general and politician, who directly gained the loyalty of his men and will live forever? That’s asking for a coup.
But there lies my problem with it, before this change we knew of maybe 4 Ascended. Nasus, Renekton, Xerath and Setaka. Setaka was apparently the first so seems more to be not a 'worthy' thing just the first, then over time things changed and rules were bought in about Ascension, due to death or Baccai etc. So it was made an honour, for those truely worthy. In my mind that worthy was exactly that and isn't down to just they are popular. Remember, I said the Emperor and to beg the priests. Nasus is a good man, while a military genius he wasn't really about that life, he was an educated person, trying to preserve books and history wherever he could. He was loved by the people, not just his men. While the likes of an assassin would take the thrown to better himself, if Nasus needed to, he'd do a coup just to get rid of the current Emperor, he'd let someone else rule. Since the Icathia story and Darkin lore updates it seems 'Worthy' means military only and this to me is wrong. Nearly all Ascended we are know are front line soldiers apparently and this is why I think the change in lore is bad. It took from a process to honour those most important to their society to just who could kill more. And this is why I don't like it.
: I did not say murderer I said killer. There’s a difference. How do you think empires are made, my good man? Every empire in history was forged in blood. Often the blood of innocents.
You said 'assassin'. Sadly, that means murderer. An ancient ritual like this would not be open to assassins. No priest in his right mind (no Emperor either) would Ascended a person like that. You think someone like that with that power wouldn't try and take thrown in a day?
: I suppose it depends on what makes a person worthy of ascension. I doubt it is anything related to modern day concepts of goodness. Remember this is a slavers society with harems. Ergo the whole place runs on oppression and rape. If I had to guess, Rhaast was a great killer. Possibly a royal assassin or reconnaissance/scouting soldier. Good enough for people to think his talents would benefit the empire forever.
Wow, I couldn't think Shurima could get lower. First Ascending only warriors then actual murderers. So much for 'Worthy'. I highly doubt any priest said okay to that if Nasus was a struggler to get Ascended.
: Just throwing random opinions out then. I like that the Darkin are Shuriman now. I never really cared for Runeterra’s galactic pretenses. And ultimately I think making darkin’s existence a metaphor for PTSD and the corruption of power is far, far more interesting than evil demons from space. Aatrox is at his best when he’s philosophizing and contemplative. Agonizing over his lot in life and how he has fallen. Sure it’s juvenile “woe is me” philosophizing but it works He is at his worst when he is screaming at stupid things. Unfortunately there is more screaming than there is contemplating in his quotes. I wish they would have restrained that part of him to just being when talking to Zoe and Pantheon where it feels earned. Rhaast and Kayne have never interested me. I don’t have anything to say about them. Varus, I am conflicted about. On the one hand two lovers fighting off possession is unique. And that cinematic they made for him was breathtaking. But I’m am not certain it was worth losing original Varus over as I feel that character has plenty of places to go in the lore. Sure they tried to bring aspects of that back in the backstory of the Darkin side of Varus but it is not the same and no longer the focus of the champions’s story. I really think Riot shot themselves in the foot with this one. Especially since the in game character has not changed, resulting in weird out of character dialogue and animations. It’s a pity. Because the new Varus would have made an excellent addition to the Darkin by itself.
> [{quoted}](name=Warlord Dienekes,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=nQcamkEG,comment-id=0002,timestamp=2019-06-14T20:17:36.039+0000) > > Rhaast and Kayne have never interested me. I don’t have anything to say about them. Rhaast is a legit fantastic character, the idea that trapped in this weapon is a monster out for one thing, killing. When they were from the other world, a party of invaders who were trapped on a world not their home, after their people were nearly wipped out it made sense for him to be this monster, craving to get out to get revenge. I honestly cannot see how this guy was worthy of Ascension. Ever.
: Overall what did you all think of the Darkin Lore Update?
Short Answer: Don't like it. The idea of the changes they made to not only Darkin but Ascended in the process, the process of Ascension and trying to humanise what are meant to be horrific murderers and give them a 'grey' side. Long Answer: What they were before was an unstoppable force that came to Runeterra and walked across killing and conquering just because they wanted Runeterra's magic. They were the ultimate villain in my eyes, as a villain who has no thinking, doesn't stop and just kills, they aren't reasoned with as they are an outside force. It was the joint efforts of the humans of the time to rise up and defeat them, using magic to seal them in their weapons and nearly wiping them out at the same time. As a comic reader this resonated with me because of 2 reasons, Watchmen and The Fury from Alan Moore's Captain Britain. In Watchmen, Ozzy does this thing to unite the world against a common evil, and The Fury is an unstoppable force that cannot be reasoned with like Doom or Magneto, it has no conscience, it just kills. The change to them to Ascended's just meant they were essentially base arse men. Men given power by other men, who as powerful warriors were meant to protect them as well but in the end because of PTSD they decided to destroy what they were meant to protect. The Aatrox changes annoyed me also, like I'm meant to feel sorry for this being that slaughtered, enslaved and conquered because he was trapped in a sword for a lot time? then once out mutilating hosts to a form he himself mutilated to begin with magic? Here's what I mean about how it affected the Ascended as a whole. - Process was no longer a privilege and honour. Varus was just a warrior who protected a place (well mind you) and no doubt in his prime at the time and the other Ascended offered him Ascension, not the priests like in Nasus story, who we are told the Emperor of the time had to beg. If the process was meant to be an honour to those who were old and served the Empire why were they seemingly ALL warriors? Where were the scholars, artists, traders and architects who helped build the empire? Were the expected to go to the front line as a Ascended just because they went through the process? What use is an architect on the battle field? - Age, it seems that Ascended's were all now long lived, so much for Nasus' gift of aging slowly. Only other 2 Ascended we had were Xerath and Renekton who I assume were trapped in a timeless tomb (which apparently Nasus found btw) which is why were didn't age as much. Now they are all old. Only Ta'anari is mentioned to be aging and that is near the end of the war, which took place over hundreds of years. - The risk of Ascension apparently wasn't much, there are loads of them now. So much for Renekton's sacrifice. Varus in his prime as a soldier just walked in. - Rhaast. No way this guy was ever worthy of being an Ascended. - I also don't buy that just because the Emperor was dead, the Ascended's instead of being protectors decided to kill each other and force their people to do it with them. All of them? Don't have an Emperor, so they didn't united and talk to Nasus about what happened, no, just fight. And where were they during the Ascension of Xerath? Did they continue to fight the void after Shurima's fall? no, the fought so the Void war was over, it has been halted. Oh and the whole Twitter Lore thing about how Ascended's and Aspects power comes from universal concepts like honour or loyalty, to me it doesn't make sense and is needless. Why not just have it as a magic process which empowers people? Why try and explain it? I admire the work they put in to it, just didn't like it.
: Nightblue gets a player Falsely banned.
Regardless of what the Teemo was doing, NB attitude was very disrespectful and full of ego. He even looked his stats at the start of the video and saw his win rate, so it was a strategy that was working, as long as this is communicated, there should be no issues.
: Bans Back in ARAM
Bans won't do anything. They need to remove the bench and the damage nerfs and buffs. The bench allows for more poke comps to form, champs like Veigar or MF appear more than even in ARAM now. Then give some champs a bit of extra defence for poke but not damage buffs, there is no reason Akali or Nocturne should be oneshotting anyone 10% better, give them a bit of defence so they survive the poke so they can actually pop the ADC but they don't need an extras 10% to do it. BUT nothing feels worse than getting Ziggs in ARAM having your damage reduced by 30% due to the range poke reduced damage and his own reduced damage, then going against a champ who has -10% damage taken on them. Ziggs would do -40% damage potentially on them, - 25% if they are close. Ziggs can't kill MR tanks anyway, now he's useless as anything but a wave clear bot and tower destroyer. He only wins because of this.

Remember when Crit items were changed and Heimer started going bot because of Pro? His play rate went up. Received no nerfs or buffs during the time, just ADCs not popping him so easily. In that time he got his first skin in 4 years. Yet at the same time considering this. IF we truely do control who gets skins but what champs we play, why is it Zed only has 3 purchasable skins with 3 legacy. He rarely has below 10% play, is basically a poster boy for the game and will in a couple of weeks have as many skins to purchase in the shop as Kai'Sa does. Sadly, at this time 30% playrate wins out. Just more people are likely to buy a Kai'Sa skin, statistically.
: the funny thing about op's post is, that since season 5 garen has been buffed like 5 or 6 times in a row. juggernaut update garen would be ass compared to today. pretty sure darius has been buffed more than he got nerfed too.
Slightly on this subject but not on the main topic. Kassadin has been straight buffed since season 5 too. Since 5.16 he's had entries in 20 patches, nearly all buffs. Last change was 9.2 which was a nerf to his armour. Damage creep isn't a thing, no sir.
: What do we know about the Baccai?
They are horrific mistakes and mostly useless, most likely killed out of pity shortly after their Ascension. Baccai is the word for a failed Ascension, if they were in anyway useful and had powers, they wouldn't be considering failures so a champ based on them is unlikely. A Rioter has mentioned this. Let me see if I can find it. EDIT: I can't find it. Xerath is the Ascension process going ham and giving more than it should for longer than it should. He's a successful one, too successful.
: When Sylas said that, he was clearly lying. Lux was just naive to believe him.
I know, that was my point, probably should have made that more clear. The whole idea of the rebellion and Demacia's hard stance on mages is so far justified because of Sylas. Not sure he realises that.
: These comics are designed to make us hate Demacian politics, right?
What's next? Creating giant sentinels to lock up and kill the mu... I mean mages. .... Wait. {{champion:3}} On topic, yeah, the world of Runeterra is extremely grey at the moment. Demacia is trying to keep it's people safe, sometimes that means making bad decisions, however... {{champion:99}}: "Would you kill to do it?" {{champion:517}}: "No, no of course not." Sometimes, taking the harder option is the best option to stop murderers. This said, the politics of the society does not tarnish the people. We have so many good Champs from Demacia, just because the underbelly of it isn't the best doesn't meant the people aren't. Sadly, we aren't hearing stories of Shyvana's heroics, or Poppy's adventures or things like that.

The item I suggest will on a ranged user remove 3 mr up to 30 per basic attack, that's 10 autos in order to deal 'some' damage with her magic damage, in that time with rage or crit she's do so much more. But removing 30 MR from a tank or fighter with SV or something is useless for her, when again, she can go Void Staff or full AD and melt them with more mixed damage. Do you think Ekko would work as a non-SG but in SG universe side hero? A rebellious teen who shows up to help the SG but isn't one? Then the romantic side between Taliyah and Ekko would work really well, as neither know they are heroes. If they are going Anime with this, go full wack. :P

: He builds pure ap because ap "fighter" items don't exist Look at as, you have trim, streaks, cleaver, DD, spear, the two hydras Compare this to the ap "fighter" list which is basically protobelt and that's it, every other ap item is designed for either burst or poke mages with nothing good for s prolonged fighter type playstyle As a result champions who are designed for that prolonged fight CAN'T build the right items and are forced to build pure assassin and be balanced around that Diana has the same issue They don't need to change his kit They need to rework the pile of trash that are the ap items, there's more fucking option in which 20% CDR ap mana item you go then there is in actual builds, 9/10 builds are just "do I go ludens into morello into zhonya or GLP into morello into zhonya?"
So the key really is to introduce an AP fighter item that is not the best for ranged users, my item lacks mana, which many ranged APs need, so they won't build it. I think in order for these champs to be fighters, they need something that is %HP based, not AP. A lot of AD fighters have %HP as part of their survivability (Vi's shield, Darius heal, Camille's shield and heal). This is why I though Sylas W heal should be % HP based. Diana's W shield too should have a HP scaling. This will also encourage them to build 'fighter'.

What was riot thinking like seriously! Funnily enough, except for the two dashes thing, and the heal, and multiple ultimates, Nautilus also has all of this. Edit: Also can we just stop with the listing out a champion's kit thing please, because there isn't a single champion that doesn't sound broken when you just list out therir kit.
Have you looked at Gragas compared to Sylas recently? Both their Q's are ranged poke slow with an 'explosion'. They both have a heal (Gragas after an ability use, Sylas on an enemy). They have enhanced autos area of effects (W for Grag, passive for Sylas) and both have a dash with knockup/stun on E. Only difference really is the ult, Grag has damage reduction, Sylas has shield.

It means they have nothing else to really complain about. Yasuo being banned is basically a game constant now.
: Sylas is way to over loaded
He's an AP fighter right? Usually fighters build a damage item, say BC or TF, then into either a defensive damage item like Sterak's or Tiamat then pure defence, with SP, Deadman's, stuff like that. Sylas current build is pure AP. Nothing like the AD fighters that exist. Unreal healing with AP scaling, dash shield, area of effect slow, area of effect passive autos, every ability works as an auto reset. Not only that in his ult he is given compensation in the form of an AP scaling if the ability has no AP value. He makes 200% more use of Renekton's or Trundle's ults as they have AP scalings but they don't build AP, yet he takes Caitlyn's and it adds an AP scaling to it to compensate him. Here's what I'd do to change him plus an extra. 1) Make him about level Q first for waveclear and poke (should be already but give it better base, less scaling). 2) Change his heal to a % Max HP. He's a fighter right? Darius, Illaoi and Gragas healing is based on % HP, whether missing or max. This will encourage him to build HP as a fighter instead of his current AP melee mage. 3) Reduce the ult stealing to 250% cooldown of the stolen ult. Make him about stealing ults at the right time and using them at the right time, not oneshotting an ADC with his base abilities, that's an assassin. 4) Introduce a new AP fighter item: {{item:3101}} + {{item:3067}} + {{item:3113}} + 650g = An item with 50AP, 300hp, 40% attackspeed, 5% movement, 20% CDR and Wit's end's old passive. Make it about long drawn out fights, not burst.
: Hey remember nexus blitz
If they really want my money, they should just make a fighting game.

: Auto Chess is now coming to league
Right, so how does Autochess work? Is it Chess or an obviously inferior game?
: > Elemental, as light would be classed as an elemental thing in a world of Magic. Yes, but Neeko and Wukong use clone abilities, and their Vastayan magic is Spiritual. Obviously, not every in-game ability is fully canon, but even without that, Neeko has some illusion-like abilities. It doesn't make LeBlanc's magic NOT Elemental, but it kind of muddies the waters a bit.
Their 'being' is spiritual as they are born of magic but that doesn't mean LeBlanc's illusions are spiritual. If Lux is elemental, then LeBlance's illusions are as well as both use light just in different forms. But this is the issue with trying to pigeon hole things, trying to 'explain' it when it doesn't need explaining. Magic is magic, let it be magic. I mean for one MeddyMan's original post put Annie as elemental but she brings Tibbers to life and he even lives on after she is killed even for a short time, meaning that has some spiritual magic involved too right? OR you could just say it's magic and leave it at that.

The question is, what is the original meaning of this English phrase, in grammatical terms. > In truth, Ixtali culture is much older—part of the great westward diaspora that gave rise to civilizations including the Buhru, magnificent Helia, and the ascetics of Targon WHO gave rise to civilizations??? The Great Westward Diaspora did? or Ixtali culture did?

The "westward diaspora" part is sadly a bit ambiguous. It means they traveled from the east, westwards to expand their civilisation but who isn't really hinted upon. Considering Buhru is to the east of Ixtali, it's more likely that they are trying to tell us that humans of this part of Runeterra don't come from here. They come from somewhere else to the east. So Ixtali are just part of the expansion, not origin of it. Kind of similar to how Dragon Age humans came about, they aren't from Thedas, they came from the north by Sea a few thousand years ago.
: Ixtal created Shurima, Buhru, Helia, and the ascetics of Targon?
What or who is Helia? According to lore everyone but Shurima created the sun disc. Talk about taking what once made you great and making you pointless.

Same class as Evelynn, Nocturne and Tahm but with less obvious origins. > {{champion:7}} Is Illusion magic Elemental or Spiritual? Both? Please discuss this one I find fascinating Elemental, as light would be classed as an elemental thing in a world of Magic.
