: What's the most evil thing you've done to win a game?
I once played GP Support, long before his rework, where you used to set aside an hour or so to play League. Ended up going 4/4/40. Rushed CDR and built AP Bruiser. Was practically playing God, ulting any enemy laner whenever I saw fit. I would wait until they were trading or trying to run away from their respective laner on my team, then give them some good ol' orbital bombardment to slow them down and screw with them. I would walk into the CC from the enemy support and just eat oranges. You could get the ult down to 57 seconds with 40% CDR and it had 20% AP scaling, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it would do 300-400 dmg every second they were in the almost lane wide radius. Lasted 7 seconds (I think?) and a 20%-ish slow to boot. Got to the point where they were just all flaming and farming under turret. One of the longest yet funniest games I've ever won. Even now.

: Opinion: More Mobility does not make the game fun
Still waiting on an anti-mobility Summoner Spell. "The next dash/blink etc used by the enemy champion within 5 seconds bounces them back to their original position and slows by 20% for 2 seconds." 210 second cooldown. Essentially exhaust for champions that ignore soft CC without the damage reduction.

: PSA: don't buy Little Legends when TFT releases, this pricing model is scummy even by Riot standards
Riot is owned by Tencent. League to them, is just another Chinese battle arena clone, a quick cash-in, that by some miracle blew up.
: Fuck Jungle
Riot hates 2v1 goon squads on lane. That much was apparent when they nerfed the ever living hell out of a Jungler's early game to the point it's none-existent till second recall. Revert the nerfs to Jungle and address the problem. It is not Evelynn's fault that Xin Zhao and Camille can gank at level 2.
: In all my years of frusteration and enduring aids in the top lane, NOTHING compares to Tahm Kench.
TK isn't even that bad. Even IF he gets fed, he brings absolutely nothing to a teamfight. He is a 1v1 scenario champ or bust, and with a little peel, your ADC will eat him alive. I would much rather Tahm than facing a Morde. The ADC top lane meta, or worse, Lulu were infinitely more annoying and anti-fun matchups. Even if you somehow managed to get to them, you were knocked back or polymorphed/slowed.
: Revert Akali. 10 Nerfs after rework = rework was a failure.

Everybody was complaining about Old Akali, and you're certainly never going to see that ever again. As for the rework, I agree, it was a total failure. Akali in her current incarnation deserves to be Rakan'd or Kalista'd and to never see the light of day both in competitive and normal play. Buffs will not make her interactions any less of a toxic design, and she joins the increasingly long list of "post-rework/new champions" that need another rework.
BoomXyros (EUNE)
: Nightblue3 got banned
Step in the right direction. It shouldn't have taken this long, and it doesn't show a policy shift to forbid Streamers having direct access to Rioters in their pocket (at least in an official capacity). However it does show that Riot is listening. Toxicity, no matter the circumstance, deserves to be dealt with indiscriminately.
: Oh boy, people are still talking about Nubrac? Did no one see the Riot response?
That Rioter's response addressed literally nothing. We know Nubrac was punished, we know why (and even how), we almost all agree that it probably deserved a punishment. It doesn't once explain how Nightblu3 has pocket Rioters to do his bidding and it completely glosses over flaming from pre-game to post-game lobby and AFKing on fountain. Behaviours, that anyone else would be punished for, regardless of the presence of a troll or not.

Laners are like "WTF WHERE IS MY LEVEL 2 GANK SHACO" > Dude, do you want me to come and deal 13 damage with my E and leave or what Pretty much. Shaco can't do a single thing until he has a few points in his Q, where he can then at least GET to the enemy laner to do something. He was an item reliant champion that got nerfed twice by a specific nerf and then by a blanket AD assassin itemisation nerf. Now he's useless. I will still argue to the grave that Old Shaco wasn't OP and didn't deserve gutting. He just benefitted from how busted itemisation was. Shaco was never an issue prior, Boards was only triggered by his ability to stealth, which made it somehow feel worse to die too than the infinitely more mobile assassins.

I am both a Support and a Jungler, and likewise, perhaps top laners are better off sticking to their own field of expertise rather than lecturing Junglers how they think they should do their job. I'm afraid Top lane isn't a 2v2/2v1 lane, and no amount of toxicity is going to change that. Junglers operate purely on objective value, map pressure and map objectives. Explain to me why I should get you, a Nasus fed, or risk giving Mordekaiser/Riven/Tahm/Jax a double kill... When I can go funnel gold to Vayne or Zed instead, and be near dragon? THAT is the issue at hand, toxic Top laners being ignorant of or overestimating their value compared to the rest of their team. Not realising what Junglers actually do.
: I love how no matter what, it’s never tops fault. You fed the illaoi 3 kills before my first clear? “God, worthless jungler never ganks” You got caught out warding after I told you enemy jungler was top side? “God why is my jungler non existent” I swear to god I only get this shit from top lane.

Bingo. Top laners right now want Top lane to be 2v2 while trying so desperately hard not to undermine the role of Junglers. Hell there's even a thread on the frontpage which is a "explanation not a justification" as to why Top laners are toxic to Junglers. I remember a time where there was a consensus, that your performance in lane is on you. That if you die it is nobody else's fault. It appears one role didn't quite get the memo.

And they hated him, because he spoke the truth. I'm sorry, but if you're bringing Zac or Singed top lane. I'm gonna focus on more game changing roles that can actually kill something, like that roaming Zed mid lane. Top laners need to be more aware of the value they bring, and if you're not capable of just ramming it down top and being unstoppable lest the entire enemy team comes for you... You're not my priority. Play a little safer, and I will gank, only if the respawn pathing takes me up there. Beyond that, blaming Junglers for your shortcomings isn't going to encourage them to go out of their way, and have no pressure between bot and mid lane (i.e. forfeit dragons), to win you your lane. I love this deflection. It's never your fault, it's always the Jungler.
Moody P (NA)
: Old Galio only useful for flash taunt, new Galio only useful for flash taunt
I liked old Galio's design as the Anti-AP nuker that got dunked on by AD casters/assassins (because MR also gave him AP albeit at a terrible ratio, enough to make him deal significant damage while making him sufficiently bulky against poke damage but not much beyond that). He could initiate fights like nobody else save for Rakan mind. Now he just feels like any generic squishy AP bruiser that is relegated only to organised play courtesy of his ultimate.
: I'd rather go against an S tier champ every game over yasuo once in a while
Didn't CertainlyT once say that he hated laning against Yasuo and Thresh, ironically his own champion creations, but liked them thematically? The guy is designing champions that even he himself doesn't like to play against.
: Hey Junglers, let me explain to you why top laners are always so toxic (explaining; not excusing it)
The Jungler's job is not to babysit your lane, least of all if you're bringing a champion that is a walking ball of heath and resistance that brings little to nothing in this damage meta. I might get you fed, and you might be tanky, but that means fluffle all if you're just going to be the last person to die in a team fight. That is what bugs me most about toxic top laners, it isn't their toxicity... It is the belief that regardless of their situation, whether 0/3, playing a champion that brings little to nothing etc, that they are ENTITLED to being babysit. That they wouldn't be doing so badly if they were babysat or you didn't "steal" their kill, so it's all YOUR fault. They forget (or are ignorant of) the value in funnelling gold to an assassin, mage or an ADC. That until 20 minutes the highest priority objective for a Jungler happens to reside above Bot. As a Jungler, Top laners need to learn that unless your champion is capable of running rampant and needing 3 or more players to stop you claiming free real-estate on towers... Junglers are only going to come to you if their camp respawn pathing takes them there. It is a courtesy and nothing more. Instead, most of their time is going to be dedicated to mid/bot, dunking on the enemy Jungler and securing dragons. Perhaps be a bit more patient and play a little safer.
: So Riot can make a Dota Chess clone in less than half a year, but at the same time they...
I would make a case for Riot, that fixes, nerfs, buffs etc cannot be rushed out even after completion. They have to wrapped up in a neat "content patch" which covers everything each individual team has worked on, tested internally and fixing any issues that arise, THEN tested on the PBE before pushing on live servers. What you receive on patch day isn't just what has been worked on, in the past two weeks or the past month, but instead content from multiple teams that was worked on 3-4 months ago. Essentially, if you acknowledge that a champion needs a rework today, you're probably not going to see that until 3-4 months from now. Therefore 3-4 months of the same has passed before that particular issue, or rework, finally reaches the live servers. Only if it was legitimately game breaking, say Anivia's wall causing games to crash, would it be a top priority bug fix and rushed out within the week. HOWEVER, it has been years. Glaring issues haven't been addressed, and worse, Riot has expressed that they're content with some of it. Meaning that they're not working AT ALL to fix something the playerbase considers a problem worthy of fixing. THAT is hubris.

: If your tips don't make up the difference between your wage and the untipped minimum wage, your employer is supposed to make up the difference. > A tipped employee engages in an occupation in which he or she customarily and regularly receives more than $30 per month in tips. An employer of a tipped employee is only required to pay $2.13 per hour in direct wages if that amount combined with the tips received at least equals the federal minimum wage. If the employee’s tips combined with the employer's direct wages of at least $2.13 per hour do not equal the federal minimum hourly wage, the employer must make up the difference. Many states, however, require higher direct wage amounts for tipped employees. In addition your employer should be reimbursing you on a per-diem basis for the miles you drive delivering pizzas, and at 11 hours I believe you should be getting overtime.

So much this. While I always tip roughly 10% (or if it was like $17 round up to $20 etc), the employer should AT THE VERY LEAST be covering cost of fuel. When I used to do deliveries (albeit a very long time ago), I got paid per mile to account for cost of fuel, plus a $1 commission on every delivery I did (charged on the bill itself if the customer didn't pick up their order from store) ON TOP of minimum wage. So while the minimum wage was god awful, it never really cost anything from my pocket and the more deliveries I did within an hour the higher my hourly wage would be. I was never fully reliant on tips, even though they were always greatly appreciated. I don't know if times have changed or Dominos is just an incredibly bad employer, but you can't blame customers paying the amount specified on their bill, and your employer should at the very least be ensuring you're not spending money to be employed by them.
: After being stuck in Silver for over a year, I have found the secret to climbing.
I'd also say champion choice is one of the biggest factors as to why people are hardstuck Silver/Bronze/Iron. Why play champions that require near perfect positioning or mechanics when you can play someone like Garen or Sona? Sure, you might like them, but you're already setting yourself up to fail if you choose one of the hardest champions in the game to play only at an average level. Also champion pool is a big one. Limit yourself to around 3-5 champions in your main role, with maybe 1-2 (or any broken meta champ that can't do THAT badly, you'll rarely get your secondary role anyway) in your off role. It's great to be a jack of all trades, but also make sure you're a master of one.

This. That Q-R buff was NOT needed. At all. She was already a top tier ADC prior. A late game scaling hypercarry that doesn't need to scale is absurd, but we shouldn't forget that Riot buffed her unnecessarily to where she is at. Rather uncoincidentally before her "Prestige" Skin patch.

: Very simple Yasuo change to make him more balanced
I'd rather his double crit scaled on his R. With 50% bonus crit at level 6, 75% at 11 and 100% at 16 respectively. Throwing one of his passives onto a basic ability only limits his power in the first three levels, and doesn't address Yasuo's core problem: The ability to powerspike after one item and become relevant at all stages despite performance beforehand. Old Akali had the exact same interaction with Hextech Gunblade. It doesn't matter if Yasuo is 0/10 at 20 minutes and 3 levels behind, he will always be a threat to squishies upon building PD or Statikk and some AD. Yasuo is by all intents and purposes a hypercarry, yet he doesn't need to scale to get there.
: So... let me get this straight.
My brain switched off on the "Daniel Z. Klein" tweet and I kind of lost the point. Men being "privileged" does not mean men are privileged in all things. They're certainly not privileged in suicide, divorce and alimony, child custody, higher education and the sheer discrepancy between breast/ovarian cancer funding, research and survival rates compared to prostate cancer. You could even make the argument that women are privileged in those things. The notion that sexism against men isn't a thing, on account of them supposedly being always privileged, is in of itself sexist. Maybe one day we'll all go back to judging people not by their book covers but by the content of their character.
: My brief thoughts on the RiotAugust "Controversy"
Boards: _Riot has no presence on the Boards and doesn't care._ Riot August: _The Boards are toxic and useless._ The cycle continues. This would ALL be alleviated if Riot had more active engagement with the Boards. When a lot of issues stem from champion design, and a Senior Champ Designer doesn't want to chime in or even acknowledge feedback... What does he expect? Riot should be accommodating the Board's users, their own forums. Not the other way around. The true disservice here is to Riot Keyru and the boards team that have at least tried to make this place resemble a community. If Riot August doesn't want to engage or be an active part of that, that's his problem.

I'll never understand why the forced 50% win rate system doesn't just overestimate your MMR a little too far. Rather than screwing the four other players on your team because you got uppity and won three games. I think we'd all prefer a much harder lane opponent, than watching the other lanes collapse in the first 5 minutes.
: How is Riven balanced?
I would actually consider Riven to be relatively balanced... ...If Riot didn't allow her animation cancelling to be macro'd to filth with the plethora of modern gaming accessories. We can talk about Riven having stats coming out the wazoo and absurd AD scaling all day, but she presents a massive exploitable design issue and Riot has been hesitant to act on it for years.

Oh my. *cracks knuckles.* No. Darth Vader was neither the original villain or the 'ultimate evil guy.' The Emperor was, and as we learned from the prequels AND as implied by the ending of Return of the Jedi (where even the title of the movie wasn't referring to just Luke, but also Anakin, a running theme in George Lucas' work and the franchise), Anakin and Darth Vader were two different entities. Sidious exploited Anakin's fears of Padme's death (visions he implanted), had a hand in or was aware of his mother's death (by directing him TO Tatooine), played on his growing contempt and questioning of the Jedi. Sidious broke him. Forging him into his enforcer. Even the suit he crafted for Anakin through Sith alchemy was designed as his chains. Luke reminded whatever fragment of Anakin that was left in Vader what he originally stood for. What he could've been. That was enough to break free. In short: Vader, yes, was black/white evil and a creation of Darth Sidious. Anakin was not.

One, People complained about Evelynn's original design constantly until she was changed into a succubus. And people complained about THAT when she first released, as well. Two, you assume Riot cares more about what the board thinks than what sells, and Evelynn sells. Three, "daily threads" don't mean much when the news broke a day ago, tops. You're only seeing such an intense reaction to Kayle because her design was just recently revealed. Give it a month or two and nobody will be making threads about Kayle's power ranger armor, just like nobody makes threads about Poppy or Galio's designs anymore. My point is that "even the boards think it's too sexy" is idiotic. {{sticker:slayer-jinx-unamused}}

And people complained about THAT when she first released, as well. And you don't think that might have been because her being more demonic, was a shift in direction from her original design and identity? Swain suffers from this too. I might not agree with that opinion, but I can see why others might hold them. I'm also not in the habit of misconstruing what was said during those times. Nothing to do with being "sexy." > Two, you assume Riot cares more about what the board thinks than what sells, and Evelynn sells. Then Riot, should go make some more sexy champions that make sense (i.e. Not Sylas) instead of imposing on established character identities. > Three, "daily threads" don't mean much when the news broke a day ago, tops. That wasn't the point. If "sexy" characters were an issue, they would continue to be. Kayle completely aside. > My point is that "even the boards think it's too sexy" is idiotic. No, your point is vilifying the boards and accusing it of 'but uh sexy bad' when nothing could be further from the truth. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-popcorn}}
: Are you kidding? I've never seen the boards be happy with a sexy character. Not once! The only reason people aren't complaining that Morgana isn't more covered up is because she was released alongside Kayle.

Not once! Oh please. If everyone was unhappy with sexy characters, Evelynn wouldn't have existed for almost 10 years. I'm not seeing daily threads about that.
: Everyone suddenly "loves" the old Kayle, meanwhile she is one of the top 4 least played champions.
Since when did you have to play ANY champion, to oppose the removal of their core identity? Players didn't play Kayle because her gameplay is dated, and all around bad. Her theme, identity and aesthetic has nothing to do with that. Akali being green has no bearing on whether you enjoy her kit.
: I absolutely agree, but where the character is the exact opposite of what its supposed to be it's not good. Like, imagine Evelynn in full armor no skin shown.

Like, imagine Evelynn in full armor no skin shown. Made a point similar to this. You wouldn't put Evelynn or Ahri in a full religious veil, head to toe. WHY would you put a bodysuit on Kayle? If you're putting a bodysuit on Kayle, why not give Gragas a six pack? Why not give a new champion that has been chained up, suspended in air since childhood peak physical condition? ({{champion:517}} Oh right).
: Give kayle back her armor please im begging im on my hands and knees
I think the worst part about Kayle's new design, is that her being "sexified" is forced. She was never known for a Samus like, skin-tight bodysuit. If you wouldn't put Ahri or Evelynn in a full religious veil, then you shouldn't put a bodysuit on Kayle. If Riot wants 'sexy' champions, then they should go make some more and give them a valid reason to be.

Sure, he might've been a little more grotesque, but I wouldn't consider his VU to be bad or "beautified" at all. The old Urgot is leagues more uniquely inhuman and grotesque than the new one. Providing they make sense, and providing you're not "sexifying" an existing character with an identity that was anything but sexy. That's awfully willfully ignorant.

I would be against covering up Ahri just as much as I'd oppose giving Gragas a six-pack (that wasn't beer kind). I think you've greatly misunderstood the threads covering the topic. Sexy champions are not bad, unless they're sexy for the sake of it. That's the point. Something you actually agree with.
: Dang, where were all these people when Urgot and Swain got beautified? Oh right, the lot of you are all just hypocrites. Just say you don't want sexy champions in the game and don't try to feed me this garbage.

I, and many, advocated strongly in keeping Beatrice a key focus of Swain's update. Demon manifesting as a bird, perched on his shoulder, whispering sweet nothings in Swain's ear. That his crippled leg shouldn't have been relegated to a missing arm, and that he perhaps should've been older. Didn't happen, mind. Don't understand your issue with Urgot though. : Gotta say: Not a fan of Kayle's new look.

Beautiful (if you have that kind of kink) and scarred. Not juvenile, cutesy and basically if Xayah had no ears and had a dress. Also, ass wings? I do have a gripe with the aesthetic choices Riot has taken with BOTH of them (although I'm more partial to Morgana given that I play her frequently). It strikes me that the model designers didn't have the same memo or vision as the voice over, VFX and animation teams. The latter three, grade A seal of approval. The other, not so much. They really just need polishing up, assets added, assets moved. All of the work is practically done, just delay the patch a week if time limitations are an issue.

I know two of her abilities are the same but don't know about the others. Her Q, E and R are the exact same. These are visible in the teaser trailer with their new VFX. I'd make a sure bet on Morg's current passive not surviving the update, I'd be very surprised if it did (innate sustain in a passive is extremely dated now, unless you're Nasus). Her W is the big question. As it stands... That ability isn't bad nor unhealthy, although Riot MAY change it to something that interacts with the rest of her kit or a new passive. I'm happy with either. To me at least, Morg has always been a champion that has three completely separate basic abilities that are good in their own right, yet no real interaction between them (outside Q guaranteeing more damage from W, or increasing the likelihood of her R proccing the stun, but any CC from any source accomplishes that). So I wouldn't consider more interaction or another mechanic to be a bad thing, but not changing it would mean she'd exist as she is now, which I'm also content with.
: "Sex sells" is legitimate as long as it does not hinder character identity/theme/coherence
I feel like the VUs missed the mark with what the champions WERE. Kayle is this ironclad, self-righteous, plate mail wearing, light wielding Bringer of Justice. Her new voice over nailed this, her kit and VFX nailed this. Her aesthetic doesn't. Morgana is one massive bitter bitch. Extremely hateful and extremely vain. Beautiful (if you have that kind of kink) and scarred. Not juvenile, cutesy and basically if Xayah had no ears and had a dress. Also, ass wings?
: Kayle face needs some work
Kayle is missing that professional touch up, while Morgana has ass-wings and looks more dark angel, Xayah looking rather than her current tattered wings/fallen angel aesthetic. But who cares? At least they didn't rework Morgana, and she isn't a walking tent.
: Can someone tell me why Malphite has never been a priority in terms of rework ?
The thing with Malphite is that he actually doesn't need one. His kit, even today, is relatively healthy. He might be lacking in skill expression or being mechanically engaging but the same could be said for a helluva lot of champions. He does however need a full visual update, but I'd rather wait until Riot has the tech to make a literal moving man-mountain complete with his own ecosystem and not another half-baked texture and voice line update.
: I Got Fired From Teaching...
Well, my condolences and I couldn't be more happy for you at the same time. I hated the public school system even when I was a student, to the extent that I dropped out and had tutors instead. Still enrolled at the school of course, wouldn't let me go, they got full credit for my exams. Teachers ill-equipped to deal with belligerent kids getting away with literal murder, peer pressure, preferential treatment when an ordinarily belligerent kid one day decides to behave, teachers writing from the textbook onto the board and being expected to write down their copy with their shitty handwriting, revisiting the same topic every other day as "revision..." I could go on and on. Utter shitshow, and I realised that when I was 14.
: To be honest, this game went completely down hill in Season 6
Season 6? I'd say you were being generous. Season 5 and it's clusterfuffle that was class reworks really drove League off the cliff. A series of bad ideas, miscommunication, mismanagement and misunderstanding that caused way more harm than good. Harm, even to this day (e.g. Malzahar, Tanks, Juggernauts), that requires constant bandaids, item changes and full reworks.
