Hi, it's always nice to see a thread concerning 3v3, so thanks for writing it. This is something that's been complained about for quite a long time. I played a lot of 3v3 last year (I mostly played Rift if friends asked me, and was primarily on TT because it was more fun for me). Sadly, the mode has a lot more issues than just the funneling meta. * Lack of attention from RIOT in general, which funneling is a product of, but also in terms of promoting the game mode, events related to it, lore etc; * Many missions not being for TT or being a lot more demanding to complete compared to Rift or ARAM; * Mastery Tokens for lv6-7 Mastery being unavailable to earn in this mode; * Matchmaking being completely messed up. I was "mid-ELO" last season, staying around D5-D4, and I'd often get matched against Silver/Gold players, but also Master/Challenger duos/trios. Not only are both outcomes unfun, there are repercussions such as gaining less LP in the first situation or losing a promo match against the latter still counting as a regular match. Although "few" of these things are actually glaring issues, it still goes to show RIOT completely abandoned this game mode from every aspect, not just balance-wise. Didn't mean to hijack your thread and use it to promote my views on the game mode, but I think this is something most people playing this mode can agree with. A high-challenger player wrote a big thread showcasing these issues and suggesting changes (same guy who wrote the thread listing all 100+ Morde bugs) some time ago, yet nothing has been done. It's sad to say, but I feel like TT is not here to stay for good. With a -most likely- decreasing playerbase and probably decreased growth of new players in there, alongside RIOT's primary focus being Rift/ARAM (removing Dominion, Nexus blitz, most RGMs), I feel like it's only a matter of time until TT becomes "that cool 3v3 mode some peeps played but was abandoned and removed".

I agree that playing the game nowadays feels like it's a bit less about "outplays", but it seems like people don't like to admit they're getting outplayed anyway. Most just say it's how the game is nowadays and that it wasn't them who played poorly - or their enemy who played good. Gotta be realistic here.

Don't forget how long it took them to fix a similar bug with Viktor's W. He wasn't able to get slowed, so he couldn't get stunned by it either after reaching 3 stacks.

Been preaching this since the start of the season.. If they don't want to fix the game's balance and let it rely solely on Rift's balance, fine... If they don't want to give incentive to people to try the game mode out, fine... But at least stop further discouraging people from playing it. I actually got hooked back to rift because of all the 5v5 only missions and because I had a bunch of champs sitting at lv5 from 3v3 but not being able to progress. Just sad that 3v3 is at the mercy of Rift and is further given up on. Pretty sure it's gonna be dumpstered just like Dominion the moment the playerbase drops so low that it's hardly playable.

So I guess the general consensus is pretty much that sound is quite helpful but not to the point where being deaf or not playing with sound would influence the gameplay too much and put you at a massive disadvantage. Just another 'edge', so to say.

Busted matchmaking, long queue times, a fairly toxic meta which was left untouched for long (until the funneling changes which managed to add some diversity), lack of care from RIOT and, annoyingly, inability to participate in "regular" stuff you could just by playing RIFT. (Mastery 6/7 Tokens, numerous event quests etc.) Truly an abandoned game mode from RIOT's side, any changes which happen on the Rift can impact 3v3 without them batting an eye.

Sure, when mobility is ruling the game and immobile champions are already struggling, I fail to see how removing the only source of mobility for them could possibly go wrong.

First look is -It lacks resistances; -Darius generally opts for either Cleaver or Tri force, not both; Darius is a bit too clunky to be a good mid laner, especially with anything that has range or kiting potential. Might be a decent counter pick into assassins, but most will be able to harass him freely and force him out of lane. I wouldn't build him differently than in top lane, except maybe hexdrinker if you're in a bad matchup vs. an AP. But either way, doesn't seem like the best pick and still works best in the top lane in my opinion (or bot lane since just about anything works bot now; with a good support).

Good luck trying to get them to change anything. I got my ass handed to me a few games ago since I ate every single W of his. It's not a problem on any skin besides Omega Squad. But again, I have my doubts about whether anything will change.

I would recommend sending a [support ticket](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) to see if Riot has any info on how to solve it; if they don't, they can help you find the logs they will need to help them identify the problem.

: 3v3 feels unbalance
Can't help but agree, the whole hyper meta feels very pick-dependent to start with. And every game feels like a coin toss on which hyper will snowball harder and it feels like there's a very thin line between one winning and the other. Not gonna say it's a "no skill" meta or comp, but even when I play(ed) hyper or support, I can't help but feel like winning or losing the first fight(s) felt almost entirely unskillful, and cheesy. And in 90% of games, deciding who wins the game on such a random and cheesy lv3 fight doesn't feel too swell, regardless of which end you're on. But the worst part is how sometimes people don't run that meta. And I kid you not, the last 10, if not more, games I've played where one team had the hyper and the other had a jungler, the team without the hyper lost every time. (Regardless if it was my team or the enemy one). So it feels like a coin toss on whether you will get it on your team or not. As someone who started very low at the beginning of the season, in Silver I (Diamond now), I feel like the top-jungle comp is a lot more skill-based and fun. It allowed for a lot more interesting picks, because the jungler had a lot more pressure than the support or hyper do, so you didn't strictly have to pick something that shoves waves quickly, and had a wider range of champions to pick from, in my opinion.

"Competitive standard" doesn't work either because ranked (e.g. ranked 3s) is officially considered more competitive than normals (e.g. normal 5s) in every other instance.

: I think it just boils down to the fact that there is a lot more to summoner's rift than 3v3 games. More teamfight strategy, lane strategy, jungle strategy, objective strategy...not to say that twisted treeline doesn't have these elements but they are definitely not as intense (I have played a deal of 3v3 myself).

That's true, but it's not the main topic of the thread. My point is that you can "master" a champion on 3v3 in the very same nature as you would on 5v5. There's still plenty of gameplay features which mirror rift, hence allowing to learn the champion (the ones you mentioned basically). The fact that they are less intense is due to the difference in number of players and the map itself. But less intense =/= not experiencing them at all (i.e. ARAM, RGMs) And that's just gameplay-wise... what about mastering champions in terms of "getting into them", mechanics, strengths, weaknesses... that isn't solely limited to rift. Of course, it's not that I expect RIOT to take any action, 3v3 has had horrible treatment for the past year or so, I am simply looking for someone to give me a good reason as to why you can only earn lv6-7 mastery on the Rift.
