Morgana and Kayle got their references updated not that long ago. Riot will probably follow up on that with their updates.

: Jarvan III, like any other king, is not about to take orders from his heir. Besides, hypocrisy and brutality are inherent to nobility. Jarvan III could just assure Jarvan IV that his dragon girlfriend friend would be safe as long as she remained secret, and that Xin could keep his position as long as he kept his mouth shut. Garen and Vayne could do the rounding up and shooting for them. And with public fear and mistrust of mages having become bloodthirsty hatred, Jarvan III would easily appease popular outrage while securing his throne against rebellion by ordering those two to do it.
What if J3 dies though? That seems like a very real possibility given there should be a big "shake-up" happening in Demacia soon-ish.

Actually, I just found a leak from 11 days ago (probably what prompted his release) https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/aadubl/demacian_heart_possibly_teased_new_chained/
Not a leak by your definition then, more like a teaser. We knew it was going to be a Demacian and also were pretty sure it had to be that guy from the story.

: Did Lux free Sylas? Or did she do so by accident?
Read his story, he got taken out of the prison to be executed, he was able to touch Lux with his chains, then went berserk with her magic, sparing only her.
: Was Sylas Ever Leaked?
There was a leak predicting he could lift up enemy champions and throw them, his ult is an AoE table flip. But that was the same leak that predicted an Anti-SG-Syndra skin, so that says a lot about its credibility.

Is it too much work to add it to the bottom line as well? It would work well with the Bold, Italic, Strikethrough buttons and you would not have to remember every combination for every color.

Oh shit the color of the text is based on the order of the tags. Well yeah in that case documentation would be nice xD

Some people also think it gives you a dash or something to escape. I'm a support, when I get caught in the jungle I can not fight them and I need to escape or I'll probably die. So thanks for reminding me, but telling me to retreat (which I already know) does not simply grant me a way to escape.

: This is going to be absurdly close. I personally prefer the drawn out revelations of From the Ashes, but Boleham Tower is still my favorite champion color story in the lore. I went with From the Ashes, but I'm fine with either winning to take on Icathia. What a battle that will be...
Oh shit, now it's just one vote ahead. Didn't even notice how close it is.
: It is indisputable that "Boleham tower" is among the best color stories we've gotten, ever. It's a special little gem with plenty of great qualities, the biggest of which is... swag. Swag galore. That said Ashes outclasses it in every other way, is absolutely stunning in its dark, poignant, visceral beauty, and is my second favourite story this year so imma vote it. more ADB when

: PSA: Downvoting Protocol
Ha, true. I recently experienced it with the Lore Tournament posts I picked up from Bioluminescence. I mean, I get that not everyone is into lore, but then you should just ignore these posts instead of downvoting. However, that's not it. If that was the case, all of the posts would have a constant number of downvotes. No, it was way worse. Only one post got hit, specifically the one where "Confessions of a Broken Blade" lost against "Art ist Life". All of these post get 10 to 15 upvotes and 0 or 1 downvotes. That one got 4 downvotes. (Tragic, I know). Comments for Art also got downvoted. Why? I still have no Idea, but I suspect it's because they liked Confessions better. Well guess what, there was a poll. Vote for it! To be honest, I also liked it better. But I don't go around downvoting everyone with a different opinion! That simply is no reason to downvote, because these posts are meant to encourage discussions!

That's obvious. Basically it's everything for the children.

: Meta-speaking, but I believe Riot is building a universe where LGBT+ is as accepted as straight relationships. I don’t think Demacians have a problem with same sex relationships.
Relationships maybe not, but I doubt they would allow same-sex marriage. It's more about the bloodlines here than in Noxus tbh. Sure, they are the "good ones" but their views are awfully conservative, be it magic (Lux), military (Garen) or house and honor (Fiora).
: Wood Weavers
The Great Weaver is depicted as God or god-like figure for Taliyah imo. It's a fitting metaphor, pulling all the strings, connecting everything, seeing the whole picture of the entire world instead of looking at a single person's fate etc. Weavers in general would be elemental mages then. Manipulating something instead of using arcane magic like Ryze.

Newer writer on the team, chiming in. :) I agree that any hard retcon in ANY game/story/fiction is super tough and painful for fans, and I'm sure it's not a decision that was made lightly. As a writer, I honestly have a lot of admiration for the folks who made the choice TO make the big change - they knew the cost, but believed in the opportunity to make something better, more connected, deeper, and more serving of what players want (and deserve)! Trust me - no one decides to rebuild from a hard retcon out of laziness! It is MUCH less risky and difficult to craft from what you already have. > > I have to say that the amount of effort put in, and the talent of the teams whose job it is to craft a cohesive world, update and grow our storytelling abilities, and set characters and champions up for more opportunities for deeper, more meaningful lore and content in the future, all is part of what drew me to work here. It's super awesome to hear that folks are liking the stories; we're working on some exciting stuff for next year, and I can't wait til we get to share it! (Also, if you haven't, you should check out the Ashe comic - I am so proud to work alongside the folks who created that awesome story!) > > I also totally can understand liking what was first established! However, to establish a cohesive, fantastical world and setting, with real stakes and things at risk, the old framework was incredibly limiting. I hope that you'll have an open mind going forward, and that the stories we tell going forward will win your excitement and trust. :-) I really disagree with supposed limitations of old story. Every lore can be expanded without removing major part of it. While i agree that some changes had to be made, deleting massive part of history is not something that should be done. That's simply spitting in the face of fans that enjoyed old content. I know that retcons are a part of my favourite fandoms, but they are never so big, as to remove the titual building block, and, seeing that's what happened here, it's not really acceptable, at least for me. But, i'm really glad a Rioter responded to me, i was expecting nothing but hate here :D I wish you good luck and more storytelling opportunities, mChao!
If you didn't know, the Institute of War and the League of Legends can still be happening in the past in the League Multiverse. The Warden vs Marauderer Skinline is from that timeline, and Pulsefire Ezreal recognizes them. So there is indeed a timeline where your old lore still works, it's just expanded a lot. Go watch [this](https://youtu.be/skualGTXWWs) Necrit video on that topic.

: Setaka would be cool. And I'd love to see Valeeva and Naganeka.
I think Setaka is dead for good. That's one of the key points in the lore, a constant you just can't change. Also, _another_ resurrection of a dead emperor / queen? Unlikely after Azir. The others sound cool though.

: Where did the idea that Kindred is limited to Runeterra come from?
The _Idea_ of death may be universal, but its _representation_ as Kindred does not need to be. Shuriman children may be told different stories of what happens when they die. For those comments, they don't say much. The first one only says that even celestial beings must die, and that death may look different to them. > I wonder what Kindred would look like to an entity like Bard or Aurelion Sol. The other one basically says the same. A different "integration" or "version" of Kindred, some other representation of death. > But one day he will die and will see some integration of Kindred. So Kindred does not seem to be a universal concept for me, but I also have no evidence they might bei restricted in any way.

FOR THE PLAYERS, ANT. FOR THE PLAYERS. Please do! Also, could you clarify that "Eastern Shuriman Jungle / Kumungu" Situation again? We had quite the discussion going on about At the Edge of the World. My first reaction to someone calling it Kumungu Jungle was linking [this comment](https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/t4FtfLzv-should-kumungu-have-gotten-some-more-art?comment=000000000001), where you said it was only the northern part. Then we found [this article](https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/champions-skins/creative-spotlight/patch-notes-lore-edition-1), which is just as recent and uses Kumungu all over the place, indicating it's the whole jungle. Our conclusion was that the jungle is named after that area (think NY / NYC), so "The Kumungu Jungle" is the whole jungle, while "Kumungu" is indeed just the northern part. Kumungu could have its name from the settlement Kumangra, near Zaun. Is that somewhat correct? Did we miss anything or did you just screw up? :D

Oh, I'm looking forward to that too ;) My bet is on Swain's, because I'd take a serious story over a light-hearted. Both are really well-written though!
