: PROJECT SKINS HYPE
Yay let's get hyped for yet more uninspired mecha/cyborg skins lazily slapped on random champions and dropped to easily grab some cash
: PBE 7/1 Opinions.
How could they add a shield-breaking mechanic to Renekton? I mean: his all-in is uncounterable, because he dashes with E, stuns you and deals his damage with q and autos in between, then E away without leaving any way to retaliate against him. A shield was the only mechanic that could allow you to reduce his bullying potential and now it's gone. I don't know if Renekton needs buffs or not, but this is probably the worst kind of buff that they could give him, because reduces interaction against him. I guess riot really loves one-sided matchups. I hope this change will never go live
: When are we going to get actual conclusive events? (Like the Void)
I don't get what's wrong with ending plotlines: a character accomplishes his mission? Does he need to disappear? No, we can still play him: Riot said somewhere that the summoner's rift is completely set aside from what's happening in the lore. Otherwise they'd need to make omnipotent characters like syndra or xerath very powerful, while ordinary soldiers like darius weaker. What if a character dies in his lore? Then we get to play the character nonetheless, knowing that some characters are dead may also add some depth to the lore, giving to them a layer of nostalgia/epicness and may help players feel attached to them.
: Yet again Akali is nerfed again
They just need to give a goddamn cooldown on his Q, because as it stands now, it's endless manaless poke, which also procs her passive. This gives her a lot of dps. It can be a low cooldown, they may also reduce its energy cost but hell, just 1.5 seconds is too low. It's a skill that is impossible to dodge for melee champs, it means that everytime you go for a minion, you eat that Q and probably her passive too
Moody P (NA)
: Old Galio only useful for flash taunt, new Galio only useful for flash taunt
Gut his AP ratios and give him some health or resistances based ratio, make his W channel cancellable by hard CCs. Bring back damage reduction buffs on ult and we'll may have a decent laner back.
: Hashinshin: MR items are weak, Armor items are too strong
Wtf is he smoking? He'd better shut his mouth, we already have to deal with conqueror bullshit because of pointless complaints like his.
: You know what? I can live with many of the balance decisions your staff makes.
Damn, I couldn't agree more, especially on minion aggro: it sucks to be a melee champion and targeting a minion, only for having it randomly running away from you, while your caster minions execute it. Melee minions keep switching targets randomly, making you fail a lot of last hits. Also, if you try to fight as a melee champ, enemy minions will chase you to hell and beyond, unless you go in a bush and they lose vision of you. Ranged champs get to escape minion aggro in a easier way
: Overall what did you all think of the Darkin Lore Update?
Long post ahead, feel free to skip, I'm about to criticize lol lore as a whole. The lore as it is doesn't work, because there is no continuity: everytime there is a rework or a new champion, the previous lore gets scrapped or retconned, while older champions' stories are left in the dust, until their rework comes. The result is a colourful patchwork, with an ever-shifting shape. What about the darkin? they first were supposed to be divine aspects (aatrox as a god of war), then became demons and finally became corrupted ascended. While their origin changes, their story leads nowhere, we know nothing about what they're up to right now, everything seems so disconnected that I wonder if the champions even live in the same world anymore. The darkin never got to interact with each other. It's like there's an event that vaguely links champions togheter (an ancient conflict against the void, the fall of Shurima), but then there is nothing else after that and everything is left unfinished. I've begun to think that there is no real direction in lore, because there is no lore at all: Riot works on lore only when a champion or a rework is about to come live, they "update", that is, they butcher old champions' stories to make room for the new entry and then leave everything be. You can see the trend with Sion's new bio. When I looked at Sion's rework I would see a story that shaped a character. Riot created a solid starting plot, leaving hints (would Sion ever discover the truth about the "grand general"?) but then completely scrapped them recently, and that story has no meaning now, because Sion got retconned out of nowhere and he has no links with boram darkwill anymore. Now sion is a generic warlord from past times. Why? Because Riot needed to create a "tribal-background" for Runeterra to make reworked Mordekaiser's story fit in. It would be nice to have some kind of continuity, like conflicts, alliances, deaths and discoveries, but unfortunately, we'll never know how the story goes, because these stories are created for a release, ready to be butchered and re-stitched some time later. I'll leave you another example, so you can think about it: who is Poppy? How does she fit in the recently xenophobic Demacia? What's her role? When writing about new demacian events, Riot completely forgot about Poppy and now her lore makes no sense and stands as a relic of past times: completely left in the dust. We're also left in a dusty limbo and we'll never get to see how the stories go.
: Riot, if you're not going to put all the effort into updating old skins to match their price...
I couldn't agree more: they set those standards! If they don't respect them, they don't respect us as customers!
Løku (NA)
: Zac Revert is bad and so are the people who wanted it.
I agree, the revert was a mistake. People pushed this revert because they couldn't learn how to use the new ultimate. The new ultimate (now trashed away) was more thematically fitting and required more thought and skill to use. It was satisfying to land, but it wasn't op, for it could also back-fire. The old one is so boring and requires no tactical use at all, just mindlessly activate it for r%%%%%ed disruption
: New Morde Skins Suck
Sounds like they scammed all those who bought lord mordekaiser. It's absurd that they do not respect their own price standards: 975 rp skins should have different particles by their own definition
Tahirsull (EUW)
: I have play the the reverted Zac, he is incredibly worse, they took away what makes Zac fun -such as tower diving-and then tried to fit him into an ap bruiser. I guess I am starting to understand why people say Riot is such a bad company.
I tried it too, it sucks. It's completely uninspired and feels boring to use. Not only that, but it's also almost useless if you build Full tank Zac. It completely ruined the champ for me
: Just because you say it's the truth doesn't actually mean it is. Zac's old ult was simultaneously fairer for the game, since it's possible to actually balance him when he has it as opposed to the new one that shoehorns him into a Thresh-style zero damage and hope for allies situation that means he cannot have any personal power, while also being much harder to use. Proper use of his original R could make or break a teamfight. On top of that, the original R emphasizes his champion fantasy far better. Zac is chaos. That was originally how he was meant to operate. His new ult is literally the exact opposite of chaos, it's ordered and controlled and _easy to use._ If you're wondering at my experience, I played him extensively both before and after his rework. Even made a Youtube video of my ranked matches with the new Zac as support (which I played pretty much exclusively in Season 8 for the 15 or so total matches it took me to get to Gold and bow out of ranked for the season). So yeah, I know both ults. And the new one is far easier to use _correctly_ than the old one. Just because you want to keep his ezmode wombo starter pack doesn't magically make your assessment of him better than people who don't.
You are completely out of mind: how can a skill which requires no setup be harder to use than one which can also backfire if used incorrectly? Your logic is really flawed, you all should take nostalgia glasses off, because it is clear that old ult required no skill to use

You just activate it everytime it's up, because it's too strong : as you said you can do a lot of things with it, but that is the problem! There is no tactical choice and is thus less skill intensive than the current one. > The current one is a double-edged sword, which requires skill, because if you use it improperly it can be useless or even harmful for your team. The old ultimate it's mindless disruption that can be used in any situation. > Can you see the difference? i get it you want zac to stay unplayed as a niche pick for maybe the 3 pro players who will once in a month pick him.(if they feel like it) but the rest of us actually want to see him picked often again.(and be more useful at other things then just being an cc-ult bot) so how about no. we will get our zac ult revert and you can keep your non-sense to yourself. again no real zac mains ever asked for his ult changes at all they were kinda shoved in our faces. all we wanted was his q to be reworked or buffed due to how terrible it was (for both the zac player and the enemy)and maybe some touchups on the rest of his kit.
I consider myself a zac player and I started to enjoy playing him only after its changes. Old q and old ultimate are boring and thoughtless, if you want your braindead champion back just admit it, but do not tell me that what i say is nosense, because it's the truth
zlumpy (NA)
: The old.ult was actually more skill intensive and used more thought as to when and how to use it. It was a chase tool, a better engage tool, a disengage tool, a healing tool in fights, and it was a better peel tool to save teammates. It was unpredictable for enemies and allowed for aggresive get in and disrupt the enemy. It also wasn't hard countered by just spreading out a little bit making it a glorified long CD blitz hook. Old ult was better and Zac never needed an ult change.
In which way is it more skill intensive, if there is no need to think if it's worth using it or not? You just activate it everytime it's up, because it's too strong : as you said you can do a lot of things with it, but that is the problem! Windwall: Free cast that has infinite blocking power for 4 seconds. Free Crit chance: Automatically gets more power from critical items. Ultimate: can piggyback off any knockup that's easier to land. Dash: Minions are free dash points and boost its damage for when he gets to you. Tell me, how do you simply beat that? Two of them you simply can't do anything about, his Windwall and Free Crit Chance. His ultimate means you have to watch out for his teammates too. And his dash using minions means they're now one of your worst enemies when it comes to chasing, but you can't just completely avoid your minions or stop them from spawning. Finally, before you say "just go around/through his windwall", let me remind you that for most champions whom it affects would be committing to giving Yasuo a free kill. Yasuo also wins if he forced you to back off just by using it. It is a broken skill that offers no meaningful cost to Yasuo and can do its job just as effectively with only 2 seconds duration.

You can easily guess why: 50% of the playerbase is asiatic, but excluding them, there is still a good 30% of the western playerbase that has weaboo tendencies.

: A game cannot grow bigger forever
They have been changing the game for the sake's of changing it for 3 years at least. Everything started with the addiction of plants in the jungle, which added random elements throughout the map. Then they added random dragons spawn, then the scuttle changes. Don't forget the rune system rework, which has been a balance nightmare since its implementation, but they refuse to admit it. The weight of these changes is making the game very stressful for me, to the point I find myself asking for surrender even when I play with premades (something that I've never done beforwe). This because I believe that when you play with friends it should fun and entertaining, you play for the company. Yet this year has been more stressful than ever: once a team gets ahead the match turns into an humiliating carnage. I feel frustrated when my ass gets popped in 0.5 seconds without even having the chance of asking for help

I wish they really were, but: - what is nautilus now that pyke has his same background? This likely needs to be rewritten. - demacian lore is getting repetitive: someone discovered that demacians look like the average good guys and starts describing demacia as a tiranny, adding dark sides to it just for the sake of doing it. - the process of ascension initially involved only shurimans who went through the ritual to become antropomorphised animals. It has been changed to describe any creature elevated by some kind of superior magic power. As a result, darkins got retconned too.

: But it doesn't suck, all you're doing is ignoring all the people who enjoyed Kai'sas design and discrediting it just because she's sexy as if that's somehow a terrible thing.
I say it kai'sa really sucks. It is the most uninspired sexualized design, completely disconnected from lore and I'll add: it completely wastes the theme of the symbiote. We could have got a real symbiote, but no: we got a sexy chick with purple make up in sexy tight suit
: New champ has been leaked!
The quality of these skins look so poor I hope they are just fan-arts. Moreover, another disgusting weaboo champ I'll never play. If it wasn't for the gameplay I don't think I would stick to this game, because it is really becoming a dull pile of anime garbage artistically speaking.
: "Why Are Supports Alwayas So Toxic?" Venting/Ranting Post
I believe supports are always toxic for two reasons mainly: - they may be good or bad supports, but they fear they may be blamed for something, so they strike first. - Or they are just bad supports, they are bored and they don't find anything to do when sitting in bushes in bot so they play "spectate mode" and criticize anything that happens. More often than not , when something negative happens, it is always the support, from the height of their intellect to spit a sentence like " x difference" or "yikes", to spam mia pings on team mates' corpses, death timer or even buildings.
: Not this time, this one is actually worth something.
Why not Arsonist Ivern? Using his passive he puts fuel under camps, as he consumes the camp he stands watching the animals get crispy with a sadistic smile. His E would be a smoke shield, which explodes when detonated. Daisy would knock up her targets with dynamite charged fists

: I mean, they'll keep releasing Mech skins as long as they keep selling. Mechs are popular. Now, your opening speaks to me personally, because I got really excited to seeing what a Roman Era Graves would be like. Maybe, he's holding a miniature ballista? That'd be awesome. Until I scrolled down and saw it was just robots. I just don't think historic skins sell as much. Even if I think Winged Hussar {{champion:5}} is the best skin in the game.
All these mech skins feel so uninspired... Riot is slapping this theme to any champ without even worrying about fitting choices. Historic skins would be way more original. They could even change the champions completely: imagine an apache Olaf or Mundo throwing tomahawks (I can't figure out how they could name these two ahahah). Xin zhao, who is asian, became a polish hussar in what is definitely a really good skin
SSmotzer (NA)
: So no more robot themed skins ever? I was kinda hoping for a mecha pilot Kled skin, but if you say there are just too many machine based skins, I guess I should just shut up and play Mecha Malphite or any of the other machine skins?
I was exaggerating. my point is: instead of making mech skins for every champ, leave space for other themes. Make mecha skins only if they fit champions. Kled would be a nice pilot of a mecha, but I can't see how program nami or leblanc make any sense

Yea let’s make a ancient rome Fiddelsticks skin, fcking make fiddlesticks naked all muscled up showing his 6 pack that seems like a appropriate skin for him
My request for ancient roman skins was an half joke tho ahahah I surely can't imagine an ancient roman fiddlestick, yet I wish such theme could be considered for other champ. Was just disappointed that they slapped the cool name "praetorian" (which is the name of the élite guard of the roman emperor) to yet another boring mech skin line. There is no reason to flame and to call each other names for personal tastes Edit: I imagined you would like to know that ancient romans are not queers and the skin line would look manly as fuck. Imagine a centurion Garen, emperor Jarvan, praetorian Xin Zhao. They would even fit as the opposite theme to the woad -skin line
: Add to that Steel Valkyries, Odyssey, and Mecha itself. Too fucking much.
And I forgot to add supergalaxy too
: I had enough of technology skins...
Holy shit, I just finished to write a post about this and then I read yours :< . I completely agree with you, enough with robots. Elderwood would be a really cool theme if they expanded it. Personally I would love to see some Incas or Mayas skinline, I feel like worldbreaker is a bit meh.

WarWork (NA)
: I think Riot is slowly but surpassing Blizzard as a lore powerhouse
I don't agree at all. Lol's lore literally goes nowhere: it's a solid status quo that prevents any development. Characters that are enemies somehow never kill each other, nobody dies or actually wins a conflict they are involved into. Frelijord? Conflict not resolved. Demacia and noxus? Never ending conflict. Void? A threat that never appears to be an actual threat: no invasions, no wars, no interaction between characters. Lol's lore is blocked: if the writers kill a character they will be hated, because lol's characters have no background and no story that develops from them besides their own life! If you look at Blizzard's most famous characters you'll see that even if they die, they are still appreciated because they contributed to a series of events that developed into a story (even if sometimes incoherently). Tassadar or Zeratul were beloved characters, their deaths during the events didn't delete their characters: they are still 'alive' in the memory of those who appreciate starcraft lore. They will be remembered as either the hero who defeated the Overmind or the saviour prophet. And this is just an example: there is Arthas, Deckard Cain, Mengsk, Cairne, Uther and many more. Now think about lol: what would happen if they kill Jarvan IV? Nothing, besides a massive backlash from Jarvan's mains. Why? Because there is no Jarvan lore besides his life, there are no events that built his story, only his biography. I said Jarvan, but this logic could be applied for all the other champions. Don't get me wrong: I love lol characters, but their story leads nowhere, we only have a bunch of bios. (Sorry for wall of text, I was brainstorming)
: We actually want to test this in one region and see how it feels for players. Generally we agree where there's some games where you just want to get the fuck out, and the current surrender system keeps you stuck longer than you want. This is especially true when you have a toxic flamer on your team who will refuse to surrender just to spite you, but also applies to highly snowballed games. No idea yet if it's something we'll end up turning on everywhere, or that we'll just test and then revert, but it would definitely help in some cases.
I understand: now, to play the game is considered toxic, it's better to endorse the common behaviour of spamming surrender while threatening to afk at the first failures. We need quicker games and one-sided matches: fights actually drag the game, let's all surrender and go next :)
