: Current State of High Elo TFT in 20 seconds
Funny I used that setup as well yesterday, its crazy strong. I think the issue with TFT in general is the balance of the game and that there are simply to few options, so people are forced to go certain builds and 4 Gunslingers is really easy to get and they will rip through most teams with ease given just a few items. Then you have the assassins teams which are lame as well, sorcerers are very easy to counter with a couple of sparks and tank with magic resist item such as Braum. I have a hard time seeing how Riot is going to move forward with TFT as it is so unbalanced and I don't really feel like its about trying to have fun with different things or to outsmart your opponents with some clever strategy. But more like following a recipe and if you do that you will do good. If you don't you will most likely fail. It just seems like there is to little strategy in the game and to much guidance if you want to do good. Im honestly not sure, but it just seems broken as a game as it is now.
: tbh this game is stupid easy and I refuse to play ranked until parties are removed from ranked because its abusability.

I will say that I will probably wait with playing ranked until they fix things, I was in Gold 1 and is now in Gold 3 and pretty much in the last 6-10 games you will at some point in the game see an assassin backline. To me it seems like people have either learned it from each other or someone have made a youtube video of how to exploit your way through the ranked. Even if you are not 100% sure to win, if your chance to win with such no skill setup, makes you at least end up in top 4 you will get rank. So I wouldn't be surprised of some youtube video telling people how to exploit it.
: Assassins counter Assassins. Place an Assassin in the backline and it confuses back like options. Assassins and Blitzcrank bug if the enemy has an Assassin backline. Observe how your Assassin team responds when you fight Wolves, and how the Wolves respond to your Assassin team. If the back line suddenly stops being the back line then champs get stupid. Blitzcrank's Robot buff doesn't go off and you'll see a good 3 seconds of fighting before he knows who to pull. Assassins will just jump to the front.

I don't doubt what you are saying is true, have seen some weird bugs :D But also I don't think the game ought to be about tricking the AI or to exploit it, it should be about luck, management and strategy, meaning trying to make work what you got. But right now it seems that assassins being designed the way they are, are just plain broken compared to other combos.

This I've noticed Knight/Yordles, Knight/Elementalists, or Brawler/Elementalists doing this. It will generally mess up assassins if you build a tanky diamond around your main source of damage and it won't hurt if ya stack a ton of items on Voli or someone.
I think the main issue is in how the setup in general work. I know that the game is random etc. But it sort of ruin the purpose of the game a little if positioning doesn't really matter at all to one combo. Strategy is to put them on a line and hope they don't bug to much. In general I think the assassins ruin the game if they are suppose to just work like that. At least with sorcerers you have to do some positioning or with the other combos to protect the important units. You have very little control over who they attack and they are designed to kill stuff so you dont have to worry about protecting them either because you don't know who end up where anyway. Also I think its a mistake in a game like this, that one combo doesn't require any "skills"/"Thoughts" at all. And if all other combos have to plan according to the assassin team, they won't do well against the others. Even if you do the tank in the corner thing, there is no guarantee that it helps anything, as your tanks might get almost instantly killed anyway by some ult from one of them. I think in general its just a bad design. I think the game would be better if assassins were like a support to another setup. So maybe it maxed at 2 assassins and there would be others supports builds like Fire mages, Frost mages, Nature, Protection etc. Which also maxed at 2. So for instance fire mages, could be champions like Annie, Brand and whoever else would fit. And having those 2 could give a buff like a fire shield to your whole team and the others something else. But the purpose being that you have different supports to combine with your main setup. Which would allow for more builds and combinations. And maybe make it so you can change them during the game for money between fights, so there is a little more strategy involved in the game and setting up things correctly. As it is now it seems to me like Kennen is an absolute must for defending against them and even with him as most assassins teams also include him as well, its far from certain that you will win.

: Having random elements is fine, but there is a difference between the stages where everyone gets random stuff and the stages where you should be able to pick what you want from a certain pool but cant, because of the design they chose for that process. It just feels bad when you get something random while others had the choice.
That's part of the strategy and what makes it fun as well, you need to know when its a good idea to loose games as well, its only about winning in the end :) A lot of players spend all their gold in the start and mid game and think they are doing well. But when those with interest start spending and benefit from that, most of the times those that used all their gold are going to loose. So you also need to buy the right champions and try to see what you can make work, and being first to pick items mean that you have a good chance of getting your setup to work when you need it to.

: another problem with TFT

No problem. But then my second choice was a bit further away from the position of the first choice and now I dont have enough time to run towards the position of that second champion, while dodging those that I dont intent to pick. And because I dont reach my choice fast enough I get some random champ that I didnt want to have. Feels pretty bad. > > Also: accidently touching a champ that I dont want to have and then being stuck with it. Please give me the option to change my "choice"! D: I don't think they should change it, a lot of the fun with TFT is to make what you got work, not just getting what you want. If there is no randomness in the game a lot of the fun would go away. Sort of like Aram, if you could just choose your champion the fun would go away as well.
