I love how Riot promised toning down the damage further in 9.4, but there's still nothing in sight in that regard on the PBE.
I feel you. I used to love this game with all my heart. Ever since pre-season 8, it is nothing but a frustrating oneshot fiesta.

When I first started reading this post, I actually downvoted it in an instant, because I really like Shyvana and don't want her to look like dragon Illaoi.
As I kept on reading however, I fell in love with your ideas and the way you describe crappy current kits (Udyr = walking auto attack) and the actual potential of certain champs (Pantheon's gladius and starlight spear, Cho'Gath transformation through game progress not just being about size) was incredibly creative and inspiring!
You gave Riot a complete manual to work with over the next five years to be honest. Amumu, Blitzcrank, Jax, Veigar and Zilean need at least a visual update as well, in my opinion.
Just don't turn dragon gal into a bodybuilder though please; she has some impressive bulk on her current splash art already.

Mana starvation has nothing to do with ganking. You don't really get oom in the jungle nowadays.
Yes, they need gapclosers to get close. That is why they are called gapclosers and they use them to kill people. Guess what Shyvana lacks? A Gapcloser. Xin can't challenge anyone without being close? Yeah, that's why he has a gapcloser, a knockup and a slow and is considered the strongest early game jungler in the game. Always being up close is what he does.
Trundle pillar is insanely strong by the way, if you think anything else, people in your elo are using it wrong.

Yeah, I loved the old rune system.
It was far from being one-dimensional. If anything, the new runes are.
Always loved the occasional 1% crit rune as well. I miss that.

Not buffing the scaling HP rune basically revealed that the next rune change is nothing but a placebo yet again.
I'm not even disappointed anymore, my expectations left a while ago.

I don't want buffs to tanks, enchanters or ADCs at all.
I want to see nerfs to overall damage by nerfing/reverting runes and buffing the base resistances everyone has access to.
That way tanks, enchanters and ADCs would become viable again naturally, since they are simply able to do their job.

Same here.
Before everyone started oneshotting each other in season 8, League used to be my favorite game by far.
For five years straight I could hit Summoner's Rift even solo and have **a lot** of fun. The only way to remotely enjoy it nowadays is as a premade team of 5 and even then it's just a snowballing clown fiesta.
I loved the pace of the game before Runes Reforged - now it's just fucking Call of Duty.

I don't know what exactly makes you think you are smart in terms of analyzing, but yes, I was indeed being sarcastic and yes, a champion building BorK and Cleaver is a tank buster.
So okay, you're saying people in plat don't go LDR fourth vs a fulltank, but we should try to balance around ideal itemization choices, not dumb ones.
Players in Master+ actually build a Last Whisper item against a single tank (sometimes even relatively early), because he is usually the one they hit most.

As soon as everyone started blowing each other up in season 8, I found myself not enjoying League of Legends anymore. I keep playing (much less though) because it was my favorite game by far for five years straight.
It's like marrying a great guy and after five years of marriage he suddenly starts getting drunk and beating you up on the regular, but you stick with him anyway because you used to love him so much and think he can change back to the man you were so passionate about.
However, every day of getting beaten up slowly but surely destroys these last bits of feelings you had for him.

While this thread holds truth, I think the biggest and most prominent issue is/was Runes Reforged.
I strongly believe that most of this overwhelming damage creeping around would vanish if Runes Reforged gets reverted.

I do not enjoy this form of League and am playing a lot less ever since season 8.
The calm aspect about this game I fell in love with is gone and if it won't come back this season as well, I will just completely stop playing the longer this drags on. Just as I stopped buying skins a while ago (used to want my favorite skin for every champion, because I was so passionate about League five years straight).
It is sad, but Riot does not seem to have other plans. I miss strategy. I miss teamfights that last longer than three seconds.

I do not agree.
Yes, there is frustration going around, but this is due to the fact that Riot is not being transparent about balancing anymore.
They are simply ignoring complaints about damage being too high and games being too stompy or give us placebo changes that seem to increase defense, but in reality do not help.
People get frustrated because they are losing something they used to truly love, while the only thing left to assume is that Riot does this because of the Asian market/money, which would mean they are ignoring us because... they are ignoring us.
Some statement on this would solve this issue in my opinion. A simple 'yes, our focus now is to appeal to the Chinese gaming scene' would make me happier than this complete silence.
Part of this frustration turns to anger and players will sooner or later be verbal about it, which is natural. While some of us are not able to be constructive, Riot being silent does not help either.

Check my other posts - I am constantly pointing out what Riot is screwing up ever since season 8.
Too much damage, champions losing their identity, games snowballing too hard/ending too quickly, Runes Reforged being a failure.
This thread seemed more like comic relief, so I responded with sarcasm as well. No matter how often we point out the games' flaws though, Riot is completely ignoring them, because Tencent wants a fast, flashy, dumbed down button masher.

This is true, sadly.
There is barely any strategy or calm aspect about the game anymore. We button-mash each other to death in three-second teamfights and hope we are the last ones standing.
Most of the champions lost their identities as well. Everybody is more or less a damage dealer and dies insanely fast. Nobody can tank. Everyone is able to splitpush due to towers being hilariously weak defense-wise.
Runes Reforged should be reverted.
