: There are some problems with the game that I don't want to ignore
The insane amount of damage destroys the feeling I had when I fell in love with this game. The calm and tactical aspect of League completely vanished and got replaced by an ADHD oneshot fiesta. I am glad people are trying to raise their voices before pre-season.

I'm at the point of calling it quits after seven years of playing (5 of absolutely loving) this game, if pre-season 10 does not address these issues.

While I disagree that the champs you mentioned automatically win lane vs him, why shouldn't bad matchups be justified for a champion that scales super hard into lategame like Jax? He wins far too many lanes for being the lategame monster he is. TF Blade complains about Jax, because he can't lose games on him and dives his opponent 24/7.
: I don’t main top, I play it sometimes and I have never had a problem laning into Jax. Maybe it’s just me but there are so many champions in this meta doing good into Jax. Also, TFB is really good, not gonna lie on this but he is legit asking for jungle babysit every single game. People complain about Jax when I think there are champions more problematic than he is. Jax is strong but has a lot of bad match ups or skill match ups. I can’t think of many good match ups for Jax in the current meta.

Autohit reliant champs like Irelia, Trynd, Renekton and Yasuo are pretty good matchups. Some tanks like Ornn also have a hard time dealing with his Conqueror sustain in all-in trades. He destroys Sylas as well due to that reason. The only champions able to smash him in lane in my opinion are champions that win lane vs ANY melee toplaner (Kennen, Quinn, Vayne). Maybe Illaoi, because holy shit Illaoi.

: THIS is what a team fight should look like....
I miss those days so much. This used to be such a good game.
: I should be in love with league right now. After something like 5 seasons, I finally broke into Plat. I even brought my old Silver practice account into Plat as well this season. Expectations are high for western teams at Worlds. And two support champs (my main role) were just released. Given all of these factors, I should be really excited to play this game, but that just isnt the case. Riot has managed to take a game I was in love with, and warped it into an experience that is somehow boring and infuriating at the exact same time. I've literally never played a game in my life where I've experienced both of those feelings at the same time. The levels of damage have destroyed the strategic nuance that this game once held. Its not a matter of, "Can I dodge enough of Zed's attacks to survive?" Its a matter of "Can I stay out of Zed's range, so he doesnt 1 shot me" Like theres literally a fraction of decision making around an opponents cooldowns, or even needing to actually understand what their abilities do, because the only metric that counts anymore, is whether or not you were in range for the one-shot Theres a different type of designer and balance team at Riot than there was before. Its plain as day when August says Rengar one shotting is good for the game. Or when Blaustoise says that CertainlyT "knocked it out of the park" with Yasuo and Akali. The edgelord bro culture is running things on LoLs design and balance fronts, and its been that way for at least a year now. The writing is on the wall. Damage and snowball games are here to stay. Hope the rest of you have fun with it, cuz after stickin with this game for over 5 years, im finally fuckin done.

: The current state of League ( Damage , game pace )
I just played a game of Kalista, because I used to love playing her back in seasons 5-7. She's a laning monster, so I had my fun smashing botlane. However, as soon as "teamfights" started (these 3 second oneshot fiestas we are having nowadays), I was quickly brought back to reality, when a 2/2/0 Kassadin flashed on me and dealt 1.600 damage in "0.00s". Yeah, his ult was stacked, it's still unreasonable though. Game was so much fun before season 8. It's sad. There are neither skill expression or calm, calculated fights anymore; just button mashing scenarios over and over again.

A mechanic is when a kit is made to work around a specific ability, many times relating to that mechanic allowing a champion to do something as a combo. Having energy, rage, heat or being a resourceless champion is a mechanic, having one CC on a spell or that spell dealing damage in itself isn't. : So, removing Akali's stun is a "mechanic" now? Hoho boy, we're definitely not talking about the same things here. Making "easy" champions isn't the way to go as there would be no distinction between 3 Ashe ADC clones, except their different theme but same ability paradigm. Graves was reworked for this reason as he was very similar to Lucian and the one who was ever seen in pro play was the one who had higher numbers. Garen NEVER saw major pro play on reputable regions until the Yuumi lane. Shyvana was in pro play only when Challenger Smite + Cinderhulk was "abused" on top laners. MF was at some point viable as support but ONLY as a counter to Zyra. So no one picks her and it's sad that she was relegated as a support, which isn't her intended role. Nidalee and Annie aren't pro picks, for quite some time. We can play this game until tomorrow as we both know that the meta dictates what's the top pick and what isn't. Flashy and versatile champions have more pick rate due to them being able to adapt to various situations, even a little. Having a simple champ always means that you're a pretty straightforward pick and that adaptability isn't your strong suit. Even with Garen's current changes, in my opinion he's not gonna become a pro pick. He'll definitely be better due to his execute ult with true damage but his gameplay would not change one bit.

: Sadly, Riot makes large uses of the addicting concept of games, which makes, on a psychological level, difficult to quit a game even if it's considered "Trash", "Boring", etc. from a player (want an example? Prestige points). With that said, what would be, then, the point for them to give fresh and interesting stuff if people will play no matter what? There's a reason why URF will never get back: because it is what the player **wanted**, but made people getaway since it made the same, basic, overused game **boring**. I personally will stop playing the game exactly after getting my last pass and my last batch of prestige points, so I can get a damn skin and then get over with it. This, however, won't last forever. Since, recently, the UK government decided to address the loot boxes system in videogames with a much more firm hand, this will inevitably affect Riot Games as well, since also other nations will, probably, address the same issue as well as "gambling addiction problem".

True, but it started really going downhill with Runes Reforged, in my opinion. Ever since the introduction of the new runes and their underwhelming resistances + overwhelming offensive options, upfront burst damage has become so high the game turned into a boring oneshot fiesta.

: Neither Nunu or WW are in LCS and Garen is only there thanks to Yumi. Simpler champs are almost never pro picks as their kits are incredibly straightforward and have weaknesses that can be exploited by a well built team, not to mention countered the same in lane. They aren't bad champions on their own but champions with a skill floor and ceiling not being the same line ARE the champions that end up being picked up in pro play one way or another.

Nunu has been picked several times and Skarner, Sejuani, Olaf, Shen, Ornn, Renekton, Nocturne, Karthus, Hecarim, Volibear, Trundle, Xin Zhao, Lux and many other champions with very simple kits and exploitable weaknesses have been top tier LCS picks when their numbers were good enough. Which is the reason they are easy to balance - you just have to shift numbers. Champions like Akali, Irelia, Aatrox and Kai'Sa are problematic due to their overloaded kit, which is the reason whole MECHANICS have to be deleted when they are being nerfed (Akali stun, Aatrox revive, Irelia W granting her a jump reset and magic dmg reduction).
: We knew how Kai'sa would turn out.
Due to terrible balancing choices, League has faced the 'Dragon Ball problem': in order to sell, every new thing has to be bigger, stronger and flashier than the rest. Riot kind of forgot that successful, new designs can be kept simple: e.g. Warwick/Nunu rework.

Was always wondering. Thanks!
: Cho'Gath was originally a charity skin made in collaboration with a cancer patient from the Make-A-Wish foundation. It was made into a gemstone legacy after the initial fundraiser was over. And its not like they didn't make a lot of money off of it, either. They raised so much money that they got an award for it.

Yeah, I bought it and liked the idea. Still an unpopular champion. Imagine how much money they would have made for charity with a Yasuo skin. They reserve the popular champs for Riot cash. That's why Championship skins are designed for far more popular champs than Victorious skins. Sure it's clever and what a company would do, yet still annoying.

: Immortal Journey, Championship and Hextech are on the ryze XD
Gemstone skins are turning into a joke. I mean it's cool they are giving less popular champs skins, but they are obviously doing this because these skins are technically 'free'. Amumu, Rammus, Kog'Maw, Malzahar, Poppy, Cho'Gath? Please. Most of the Hextech skins are pretty poor quality too IMO.

: When defense is shit or damage is high toxicity is higher. Honestly a lot of times one death makes lane feel not winnable, so instead of wasting time they just leave. It’s a mentality issue that comes with high damage hopeless feeling metas.

Game is too snowbally and dying once in lane often leads to getting oneshot over and over again because burst damage is way too high right now.

: Tryndamere Feels awful to play against
Absolutely true. This champ needs a major rework or at least make him unable to ult when hard-cc'd. Being invulnerable for five seconds (that feel like an eternity) while hitting like a truck and dashing into your face every two seconds is super toxic design. Don't make me get started on his one-dimensional splitpush shit.

: Im sick of this damage and mobility >_>
True. I've been complaining for almost two years now though. Lost all hope, so I just stopped buying skins.
: Sylas came out 8 months ago...
Also fuck that champion.
: Boots of Swiftness
I don't know, they often have the highest winrate on a lot of champions and are pretty underrated IMO.
: can this guy on his lunch break stop spamming the red tracker?
I'm glad at least one Rioter finally tries to talk to us again. No reason to be annoyed.
