: Something something backlash, something something didn't sell well, something something controversial pricing and packaging. Supposedly they're on break with chroma until they figure something out to make them more meaningful.
I still cannot believe they put a price on colors. One of many historical worst decisions; this is outstanding.

: maybe an animated splash icon could be something granted to players who achieved mastery 5?
Makes sense since 1 or 2 month ago, and most probably prior to some reveals that Mastery will be updated. From 1 to 5 without demotion makes Masteries a bit of a joke: * It's easy to get to 5. * At full mastery, which is not 5, we may unlearn _(as unmistakably human, we are)_. Animated things like this are very attractive. It's strangely pleasing to be in possession of a Golden card in Hearthstone. The same affect would apply in LoL.

: Zed's Death???
Animated Portrait: Zed no red eyes. Project Images: Zed no eyes. Teaser Image: Zed no red eyes. Zed. Red. Dead. Rhymes and stuff. Kappa123 . . Like Gangplank: * [**Default Skin update**] * [**Story & Lore update**] * [**Reintroducing Shen**] I like that they're finally straying away from having all characters have glowing eyes. It's cliche boring...
: Zed's Dead Baby
Blessed Isle's vault (before Shadow Isle) is very much in correlation with Kinkou Order's purpose, ideologically. In the story of Shadow Isle character it does already state 'the order' about the Blessed Isle. > Zed the Master of Shadows; > the Shadow Isles. > Shadow as synonym of Death; > 'deadeye' teaser. I think it's just a story & lore overhaul. A spiritual swap between Shen and Zed. Shen's update may be more clear now: It's personal between Shen and Zed. Zed 1st Impression: The bad guy. Zed 2nd Impression: The sad guy. * Zed killed his master. * Zed defied Kinkou. _(selfishly, ambitiously, shadow-schitzophrenia)_ * Zed upset Shen: made a monster out of his brother. (Shen's Hate) * Zed knows. **In new lore: did he want this to happen?** (Zed's Love) I must say that new champions is not going to keep players in LoL. I've played over a year of LoL and Kindred, Illaoi and this new champion tease will not bring me back. It's not new champions; it's the game systems and game's design that is repulsive.
: [ZED] Deadeye - (Possible Image of Deadeye Already Shown) Thoughts?
I don't believe it's connected to that mysterious PROJECT character so easily .. or not at all. #I suspect a huge welcoming Zed Story & Lore Overhaul. > **Zed Splash:** The obvious black shadow (left-side) may not have been there originally, too. I noticed this on Champion Spotlight thumbnail. O.o > **Zed Portrait:** Why's he look sad? Does he finally have some humanity? > **Red Petals:** (Symbolism) Not clear: he is overwhelmed with Feels. Personally, I like the idea that Nocturne is the nightmarish Shadow in Zed. Kinkou Order mission: Sent to recover a relic he was instead consumed by it. I'd also like Nocturne to be identified as a Demon and Zed's his Agent of Shadow.

I think that as a punk kid - who is also really smart - the idea of messing with time would be particularly appealing. It's cool, it's dangerous, it's not something most people (anybody?) can do, and it's quite useful! I think that would appeal to Ekko quite a bit. An interesting question to throw out though - do you think he set out to build a time device initially?
1. Shurima explodes. Zilean's research with it. _(Zilean already passed beyond space-time)_ 2. Decade later, one of those merchants (in RekSai video) scavenges remnants. 3. He finds some artifacts in any form... 4. He sells his stuff as he travels one of which set the item circulating around the world. _(on its way to Blessed Isle vault?)_ 5. : Aatrox could just be the name he goes by currently. It's possible that he's changed his name or finds no real reason to remember names. His remembered by his actions, which become shrouded in myth. Actually this somewhat bothers me about Aatrox. Where does he go when there are no wars? His presence is shrouded in myth, which means that he's not someone you'll see often. But look at him, he sticks out like a sore thumb. Does he have an ability to change his appearance?

: It's a hell of a discussion to get into, and I don't want to go too deep on it, but I often wonder about this debate and the inherent assumption that less structure is always better. At the end of the day, if a game has a clear win condition, something optimal will sort itself out, regardless of how many deviant paths it takes to get there (most tournaments sort themselves into an accepted 'stable meta' with 100% picks, like Gyro / Lesh / QoP at TI5 or GP / Morde at Worlds) . Personally speaking, I think structure in a game vs. open experimentation is a neutral concept at best, and both sides have their pros and cons. Getting outside of the DotA vs. LoL debate, if you're playing a competitive game of dust2 and everyone buys an awp to cover long a and then they all get flashed and die to a weenie rush, nobody blames the 'enforced meta.' They just acknowledge that six dudes probably shouldn't all be sniping because there's an inherent understanding that in an FPS, there is a given degree of gun balance and structure. For a while I think LoL tried very hard to say everyone can be a magical unicorn of cross-specializations and wacky team compositions, but I think in a world like that you're just entertaining novelty for the sake of novelty. League's groove is probably more in the realms of an organized sport like football or hockey. You can try putting a scrawny dude on defense, but you'd better have a damned good reason because the position in itself demands certain functionalities. There's still room for experimentation, but you fulfill a baseline criteria first so that everyone understands where you're deviating or experimenting. I think a system like that makes for an equally entertaining gameplay experience with a significantly more powerful spectating experience. DotA, by the way, I love, and I enjoy the broad experimentation in it. Skadi combat Puck has always been my jam - but explaining the nuances of play, and the mental upkeep for how fast the game rotates from rat dota to deathball to everything else is an incredible barrier to entry. I'm glad I'm still able to keep up, but I do remember the hundreds of disorienting games I played where every time the rules, roles, and expectations would be upended because this time around Lina was going for a carry build. Just my personal thoughts - we don't hear this as much these days but something to noodle on.

Personally speaking, I think structure in a game vs. open experimentation is a neutral concept at best, and both sides have their pros and cons. Less _excessive_ structure (game systems) is better. Clarity. It has to grow to a video game not an exploitable spreadsheet. I've tried to summerize the direction of 5.22 and I do quite like some parts! If 'spreadseet chaos' decides to stay with LoL's attempt at esports, when's someone going to challenge Tencent for manipulating a product in prompting premeditation favoring the winning team? _(I am aware of the potential of fraud like this happening)_ > [{quoted}](name=Riot Pwyff,realm=NA,application-id=A7LBtoKc,discussion-id=GjE5bAFO,comment-id=00030001000000000001,timestamp=2015-11-10T23:37:01.553+0000) > Getting outside of the DotA vs. LoL debate, if you're playing a competitive game of dust2 and everyone buys an awp to cover long a and then they all get flashed and die to a weenie rush, nobody blames the 'enforced meta.' What may matter is tolerance to defeat. An intolerable experience leaving that repulsing feeling to a video game is not good, stating the obvious. It's likely qualified as fun if it's tolerable - _**"Why am I not enjoying LoL anymore?"**_. An idea allowing more than one 'kit design' (e.g. juggernaut or _new_) to at least perform **one of multiple secondary roles** by a greater selection of simplified 'equalizer' items sounds great .. and ambitious. The champion's kit will more or less still play the same but likely not as optimal in that secondary role compared to a champion who suits the role. Whichever way it goes, an optimal build for secondary roles will be discovered. * How can an assassin opt to be fighter? [select recommended items] - **Sufficient and optimized. You can do it!** * How can an assassin opt to be support? [select recommended items] - **Sufficient but not optimal.** * How can an assassin opt to be tank? [select recommended items] - **Insufficient and not optimal. _Can_ try..** Well.. I believe it's possible. The redevelopment from current system may be impossible .. but if 5.22 is going ahead, why not!?

: So you're rewarded for dying? I know that isn't strictly true, but that's what's happening really. GA is one of those items that needs to have a high CD, otherwise a team can pick up 2 or 3 GA's, a Zhonya's and before you know it you have an invincible team, with a <5 min cooldown if you somehow manage to get on top of them. Sorry, but me no likey. GA can be a toxic item if it's in a strong place.

You are rewarded for not dying so much. As the team's important player and you die, and the GA isn't active there's also a failsafe. * UNIQUE **disabled** (before 5min cooldown): Dying too frequently within 4 minutes, you'll probably not notice the shortened death-timer. **The intended purpose of the item is reinforced**. Dying within 5minutes constantly, the user will never activate the in-battle revive. Either it may encourage seasoned user to play more carefully [**or**] encourage more reckless plays; a false-confidence boost that could actually turn the tide of a battle. The 5 minute cap is filled. It _feels_ less time-constricting but for optimal performance is after 5 minutes cooldown.
