: Sometimes, simplicity works the best. You don't need someone insane complicated or tied up in convoluted lore and story telling to be an interesting, popular champion. You don't need to invent new species or strange new beasts to have a good design, and that's the approach they've taken with Yuumi. She's a cat, yes, but she's simple, understandable, and relates really easily with tons of people.

Can't really argue with this point but I think it really depends on where you're willing to draw the line between simple and relatable/too simple and too relatable

I understand your point about originality but even with "stripper magneto" they tried to merge different inspirations to make a somewhat unique character: an anarchist magic ghostrider with a clear aversion to shirts. He links with Demacia lore and he's even pretty believable as a character, considering the "stick up the ass" demacian law. I can't honestly say Yuumi has even a third of all this going on for her, even lorewise. It's a talking cat, that links with Yordle lore, believable as a character, care free and fun (like Yordles), which rides around on a magical sentient book that only talks to her. Sounds good to me. Nothing else like it in LoL. A lot of the original line ups were very stereotypical, even some of the modern ones are too. Many of us can come up with characters and designs but they are no doubt built of things we've seen or read, not truely unique. Or would you prefer another Kai'Sa? Aka, woman in a skin tight suit.

Many of us can come up with characters and designs but they are no doubt built of things we've seen or read, not truely unique. Or would you prefer another Kai'Sa? Aka, woman in a skin tight suit. Never said I would have liked another kaisa, I mostly talked about other creatures of their own design that, in my opinion, were much more successful in a fantasy setting. I just can't get over the fact that rito peeps sat around a table and went with the safest possible character design without even taking the time to properly introduce it into runeterra: Cute cat, behaves 100% as one and has some magical book slapped onto it because magic. Her lore is completely bland and seems even forced (considering it doesn't link to anything relevant in the yordle world, so much that they introduced a nondescript yordle master that went missing for...reasons in order to justify yuumi being part of it). Doesn't seem very believable to me. Also, why the yordles? Yuumi is almost as tall as one, it's hilarious really. It's like imagining Kled riding a normal horse, how weird would that look? Finally, speaking about design, if they couldn't take the time to invent a new creature (like skaarl, rammus, anivia etc.) couldn't she have been a magical Poro? How fitting that would have been, proper size, much cute, already introduced in runeterra universe and they even already mentioned some connection to braum in her lore! And if she HAD to be a magical cat, couldn't they give her a human size master with a more fitting backstory? Ryze? RYZE?! Sorry for the lengthy rant, there's so many things that bug me about the decisions rito took about her that I don't even know where to start.

: Coming up with truely unique characters designs is hard in the modern age, with the internet, art websites and a world filled with media, everything is done, whether you know it or not. Sometimes the simplest designs are the ones that can stand out. I mean the last champ they released was just basically stripper Magneto. She looks good, a welcome edition to the Enchanter roster.

: I don't get the neeko hate
Well said and rightly phrased! I'd just like to point this little analogy out to further the points listed above: Imagine two kids, Major and Minor. Let's make them twins for consistency. It's Christmas! They get presents, yay. Major gets 2 presents, Minor only 1. While the first one happily plays with his new toys, the latter is (rightly) disappointed by the mistreatment and proceeds to cry a river in front of their parents. Minor gets his second present shortly after. Minor then goes to his brother/friends/neighborhood/local press/riot games showing off his new toys, happily gloating about their obvious toy features ("Look, this one is made in PLASTIC" "My dad said this is a fire truck, no ordinary truck for this guy!" etc.) Nobody likes Minor. By extension nobody likes his stupid plastic toys (that could have been debatably cool, I mean fire trucks are dope) In conclusion: I hope the moral of this little story is clear enough. I find this whole Neeko fiasco quite hilarious. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-popcorn}}
: Rengar is completely broken
Been playing with and against rengos for two days now. Boy oh boy even if he doesnt have a lead he's still able to 100% - 0% any squishy with that dumb ulti. The only counters I found to be working were exhausting him mid jump or flinging him back with thresh's E, both of them requiring very good timing. The amount of damage he can dish out is honestly dumb.
: As long as the leveling experience sucks and runes are too expensive.....then bots will exist.
Maybe I sound obvious but the problem originates from smurf accounts. New players wouldn't even think about speeding things up and getting to the real action without knowing the game's mechanics and whatnot. Now, I realize there's no cure to smurfing but we know full well how harmful smurf players can get towards legit new players. At least Riot should punish players caught botting real HARD. Like---weeks of ban---hard. (to be honest I don't really know for how long bot players are banned right now though) That'd both deter people from creating smurf accounts ('cause it'd take actual real time to raise one) and make new players learn the game in sweet peace. Smurfs are still going to stomp newbies in ranked games (which is sad) but that's at least a step in the right direction.
