: it's actually two separate bars for red/blue, but the orbs have more weight to them the longer the game goes on, there's a huge spike in how much they're worth around 9-10 minutes. So if you slap melees around for 8 minutes you'll get a good chunk of your red bar, but then if you 100-0 a ranged champion around 10-11 minutes you'll get blue. If you just hit a ranged champion a few times at that point you shouldn't get your transformation if the bar was at 0 to start. It's pretty dumb, unclear and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Plus it can be really punishing to wait the 4 minutes if you get the wrong form. Really great design from Riot on that one.

Everything done to this game after season 5 is stupid. But what can we do about it?

You know that there are multiple skins in development at any given time from multiple lineups and, unless they are tied to an event like PROJECT and SG, they just come out whenever they are completed, right?
: So you can still be in combat with a champion even when damage isn't registered... and a recall will continue... or miss out on an assist... But you can't use Warmog passive... when damage... isn't... registered...
Pretty much yes. Also, for some reason, it doesn't stop when you hit someone, so, i was wrong, it doesn't stop if you are in combat but only if you get hit. so, yeah, things are fucked up. I thought it stopped if you hit someone as well because you'd then be in combat but it's not the case. I just tested it in practice tool to make sure... So, yeah, something's wrong here...
: So "champion damage" that doesn't break a shield won't get you an assist or stop a recall...
The thing about this is, Warmog's passive triggers some time after you're out of combat. Being hit immediately puts you IN combat, taking damage or not, you're in combat, thus, ending Warmog's passive. On the other hand, Shields prevent damage from being registered, and so, if you didn't do any damage, you don't get an assist and you can't stop a recall. Recalls don't require you to be out of combat to start the channel, it's just interrupted by incoming damage, thus, if no damage is taken, the recall isn't interrupted. Simple, isn't it?
: Assassins should be renamed to Escapists
: This has been happening to me for a while now. The only fix (while in game) that I've come up with is switching the resolution, applying the setting, then switching back. I haven't found anything else to fix the issue, though I haven't tried the borderless gameplay. I think graphics issues also happened in other games, but nothing consistent like this. For a while there, I thought it was only if I had a window open in the background. Over time, that idea was debunked. My rig is a little older (from a graphics card standpoint), and it's a crossfire configuration. I thought maybe I was having overheating issues, but now that I can confirm other people have the issue, I'm almost positive my cards are ok. My relevant specs are below. Maybe we can figure something out? Intel i7 3770 2x AMD HD 7850 (in crossfire) Windows 10 Running latest graphics drivers Reinstalled League {{champion:99}}
I honestly don't have any idea why it happens. That i had that problem only when i played using the graphics card. If i ran the game using the IG of the cpu i had no problems but the IG of a laptop i5 is so shitty i didn't even get 30 fps and had constant drops. Now, in my new system, i don't have a graphics card at all, because of budget, and i'm playing on the IG of the i5 6500 and it plays quite smoothly with an fps count over 100. So, it all came down to a problem with graphics cards. It's probs a problem because of the system having an IG. Does your i7 have an IG? i wonder if this problem exists for AMD systems because AMD cpus don't have an IG.

It would be the same if a Lux dove you for an AA and used Barrier to protect herself and you not completely breaking it. If the only thing you do is Gaming and streaming with a spotify playing your music, trust me, you won't see any difference at all between a Ryzen 1800x and a 7700k, on the contrary, you'll have more FPS on the intel CPU because of it's higher IPC and Clock speeds. Streaming, gaming and a music player don't take more than 5 threads combined, and the 7700k has 8 of them... Yes, Ryzen will have more room for multitasking but i doubt anyone would game while performing heavy multicore tasks in the background AND streaming, there's no point in that. You can do that, yes, but most people won't. Having a chrome with 5 tabs open, LoL and Twitch stream isn't "Heavy Multitasking". In my situation, 6 core is ideal, just because I run three games at once. Heavy modded skryrim, black desert online, and league/some other game such as ARK. I leave both skyrim and black desert on afk while I play my active game. That's not including a video tab I leave on since I listen to documentaries while I play. I'm weird like that.

I wholeheartedly suggest a Ryzen 1800x, it has 8 cores, yeah, but who knows, sometime you might wanna run 1 or 2 more game. Yeah, you're weird like that. I can't see why would someone have 3 games open at once if you can only actualy play one at a time, because, well, we only have one brain LUL. Maybe so you can quickly alt+tab between them i suppose. Still, you do need the extra cores, but as i said, not everyone needs the extra cores, not everyone can use them.

Core for core intel will do better. So if you really want to push that fps with mostly just your game going on your machine you will get marginally more fps going intel. Or you could get a Ryzen 1700 for 50$ less than the i7 7700k and get 8 core and 16 threads. Use that money for a better cooler. Overclock it to Ryzen 1800x levels. Get like 92% of intel's maximum fps but also run all your programs and stream using your cpu encoder which is higher quality for streaming than gpu based because of the limited bandwidth that can be sent over the internet. At least lets your gpu focus on the game. If you do cpu encoding on a 4 core 7700k in an intensive game performance is gonna bomb. Sure you could still get a 1000+$ i9 something if money is no object and have their single threaded performance and how many ever cores. If you really do push it it'll use even more power and run even hotter than the cheaper stuff but if money is no object then I guess that's not a problem either. But for most people right now I would suggest going with a ryzen 1700 or 1600 or 1500x.

But for most people right now I would suggest going with a ryzen 1700 or 1600 or 1500x. first of all, i9 is a joke, who the fuck would pay for an i9 when threadripper is out? If you can overclock a R7 1700 to 3.9? 4.0? An i7 7700k is at 4.2 base and can easily overclock to 4.8 and some get 5.0 stable. With a decent Liquid cooler you can overclock that high with no problems really and the i7 still hase a better ipc, not just clocks. Yes, you will have a dip in performance if you also stream in high quality but the performance dip won't be that great, the game will be more than playable and the 8 threads of the 7700k are more than enough to stream and play and run a music player, don't forget that games don't utilize more than 3-4 threads, which is 2 cores max and the other 4 threads are enough for a music player and a stream. It will push the CPU but it won't bring it to it's knees. Ryzen will have even more room for multiple apps running but still, when you play, you're focused on the game, most people won't even have that many things. Do you see people streaming on Twitch have issues because of the i7? I see people stream with 2-3 generations older i7 chips and still pull 100+ fps while streaming. Besides, unless you pay lots of money on other components, you won't even see more than 60 fps because high refresh rate monitors cost more, like, a lot more, even double what a 60Hz monitor would cost. So yeah, casual streaming and gaming won't bring an i7 to it's knees. Don't confuse all the benchmarks you see with real world performance. Cinebench, AIDA64, you name the benchmark, use every core and every thread of a given CPU and measure it's raw power and since they scale with cores, of course the Ryzen chips will pull ahead of the i7, it's only natural, but it doesn't reflect their real world performance. To get the most out of ryzen, you need to actualy work in content creation, video editing and render real time high quality videos while editing/rendering images, encoding/decoding, running AI, Virtual machines, developing software, generaly doing things that actualy NEED the extra cores, and Gaming while streaming isn't one of them. Yes, Ryzen is a good investment and a good future proofing route to follow, but for now, very few people can actualy utilize what Ryzen has to offer.

: Ornn will buff every all Classes items except ASSASSINS!
Because people hate assassins and i don't blame them. Personaly as a Zed main, and having played pretty much every AD assassin in the game, Zed is the only healthy assassin. Yes, he can oneshot, yes he does a lot of damage, but so do all the others but with 1 key difference. Zed's main damage is skillshot based and his damage is pretty unreliable. I can sidestep Zed's shurikens, i can put my self out of his W-E range and i can deny him in lane because of those skillshots. What are you people gonna do about Talon, Kha'Zix and Rengar? All of them can pop out of invisibility and reliably oneshot you with no chance of retaliation or any chance to avoid that damage. So, yeah, It's good that no assassin items aren't buffed by ornn because then every assassin other than Zed would be way too strong with them resaulting in class wide nerfs, and that would mean Zed would be nerfed with them. And before you say anything about Zed's skill requirement, damage output and reliability, It's not Zed's fault that you don't rush an armguard early, you don't get armor in runes and you can't sidestep. If he can reliably hit his skillshot combos on you, he's better than you and he deserves to win lane, don't cry, instead learn from the experience. Learn how long the Q travel time is, improve your peripheral vision and perception of area, think faster and understand the multiple angles of approach that this champion has, and deny him his opportunity to surround you with his shadows. How do you deny him that? Don't be in his ult range so that he either has to use W to come at you or flash. If he flashes, a big summ is down and you have the flash advantage. If he uses W, he only has one angle of approach available and you only need to step to 1 direction. Simple, isn't it? Oh, you can also pick yasuo... Contrary to popular belief, ever since preseason 6 yasuo buttrapes Zed. The energy bar on Zed means that windwall will always be up by the time he has enough energy for a full combo and you can easily abuse that by forcing him to farm with Q. Every champ with point and click ranged abilities can force Zed to farm with Q but Yasuo's windwall completely negates him in lane. Don't pick yasuo if you are not good with him tho, you will feed your ass off.

: Sounds like you got a solid plan, and know what you want and how you want it. I just love it when people talk can geek back to me - makes me feel not so weird after all. :) To every need, there is a build - and I love it when people build their own PCs, instead of going the "daddy's paying, so I don't care"-route. _Hear that one more often than I'd like at the local LAN party._ Pics when complete, please - and of your brother's discotheque. ;) I'll just run through the rest of the things real quick here, as we've taken this thread WAY out now... ^^ They call it an AIO - all in one - due to it containing all the components needed in a waterloop; pump, radiator and hoses, all already locked down and ready, and technically in one piece. --------- A CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Light) inventer takes 12 VDC from the PSU _in_, and transforms it to ~800 VAC _out_, to drive the cathode tubes. I used to have several (because they were cheap), but once I grew to understand what actually went on in them, they scared the hell out of me. A potential electrical arc inside my PC? No, thanks! ---------- As for my storage...well, my internet speed sucks(!). ~13 / 0,85 Mbps (DL / UL) is what I got. And so streaming doesn't really work for me. Also, I like having english subtitles (something only a rare few streaming services offer here). I also want access, aka when something is released anywhere, I don't want to wait a week. Or a day. And so I .torrent like a madman. Atm., I got 26 TB internal storage, + 9TB across five or so external drives. And I got ~700 movies or so to choose from, plus...some number of series and anime. I find to HDDs to be pretty much for free these days, and so I indulge myself. ;) I realized I didn't answer the "why I got so much space" there...ehm, well, the best answer I have found so far is..."in case the internet goes down". Sorry, but that's the best I can do. ^^ And yeah, that BD-R/W won't come over to the new build. Hell, why waste a good SATA-port, when I can have another HDD in there? xD Pity, really, as it wasn't cheap. Nor was the ~150 BD-disks I've bought. Still got ~80 left. Already thinking about swapping it for one of these: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822179052 _I think one of my HDDs is dying (gives off odd stutter on occasion) - already backed it up, but best be prepared and have a new one ready. Ofc. these things only breaks after closing times..._
My internet speed isn't much better either, i get about 14-16Mb/s down and 1-1.5Mb/s up, but that's more than enough to watch streams at 1080p60 and play League or other online games with no issues. The 1Mb/s up is far more than enough for the small amount of data sent over to the servers for the game's control. The only thing that affects my Ping is network traffic, path and distance to servers. So, i am pretty satisfied by my internet connection. About the pictures, I'd have to upload them somewhere and then link them here for you to see and, by the time my rig will be ready, we will both have forgotten it tbh. I won't be able to have my GPU in before December if not even later, and the Liquid cooler will be a thing when i upgrade to an either i7 6700k or 7700k, although i think i'll stick with a 6700k because from what i've heard, it has more stable thermals... i've seen some shit like 65°C on liquid with a 7700k and was like, WTF HAS INTEL DONE TO KABY LAKE? So, yeah, it will take a long time to gather my funds for my complete rig. My complete hardware list would be Gigabyte G1 series Z170X Gaming 7 Intel i5 6500, )i5 is more than enough for gaming tbh, the i7 upgrade will be more of a future proof since with the ryzen chips and their ridiculous amounts of CPU cores, Devs might start using more than 3 cores for their in game physics and visual instructions and i'm gonna need the hyper threading. Single core performance is still a thing tho, so, i'm sticking to Intel for now.) Corsair CX550m Mastercase pro 5 Aorus GTX 1080ti Extreme 16 gigs of HyperX ram (2x8GB) Samsung 960 Evo NVMe drive 250GB and finally some external storage. I see you're on EUNE. If you were on EUW, we could talk more about PCs and stuff like that because this thread is indeed over saturated :P

: >My brother built his new PC and went for a z270 board and holy shit, that's not a pc, it's a Kappa Pride light show... Okay, I want pics now! _"Kappa Pride light show..." - that one gave me a right good chuckle._ ^^ >Better have a static lighting and a stable color theme, symmetry and aesthetics above all. Amen! Personally I'm a fan of a white/silver case with static white light (only LEDs now - especially after I learned CCFL inverters operate at around 800 Volts) and black hardware. Prefer keeping things two-tone for sure, else it quickly just turns into a mess. Will try to incorporate more white with my next build. I did consider having my current case painted all-white...but I decided to keep it silver when I was told the cost of painting all of it (every single, little part) white would be ~450 EUR. I've seen so many cases following the red/black theme - too ROG for me (Asus Republic of Gamers). Individual preferene, ofc., but I prefer to keep it light-coloured. Especially as not so many actually does that. Black is oh-so fashionable these days (pity, really - makes it harder to get things in the colour _I_ want), and so I outright enjoy moving against the trends. As for RGB, I believe it just came from "look at us! look at what we can do with this technology!". People started to buy to try, it caught on, and now the market thinks everyone wants it. >-< -------- As for SSDs...that's just a technical term - basically means "no moving parts". So while an NVMe doesn't have a 2,5" formfactor, it's still an SSD. Well, no point in debating that further - frankly, I'm struggling with keeping up with all the terms. NVMe, mini-PCI-E, M.2 and so on. Two handfulls of acronyms, but only one of those handfulls can be applied to any one drive. :/ _Not much better when it comes to USB-connector types and WiFi-standards now._ I just prefer keep to using all the terms that applies to any single drive, so to not lose track of what it actually is we're talking about. -------- As for the fans, 3x in / 1x out sounds like a good setup. You actually made me google "AIO" now, but I presume you mean a self-contained water-loop for the CPU? I have looked at a few such, but I want quality, performance, longevity and quiet. Which for me means a 2x120 radiator at least. Also, if the computer case is not an easily transportable one (aka "small" or "just right"), such a radiator comes right smack down in an HDD cage, forcing you to choose - radiator or 3 HDDs. Me, I am a collector, currently with 7 HDDs and 4 SSDs (+ BD-R/W unit), and I certainly don't want _less_ HDDs in my next build. LookIng at a Lian Li PC-V1000L case at the moment (will be the silver version). https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112436 The things I spend my money on when it comes to components, it is: 1. The computer case. 2. The motherboard. 3. The power supply. Either of these may quickly be a limiting factor if you want to add anything later. Not enough space in the case, not enough connectors on the motherboard, not enough power from the PSU and so on. And so I prefer future-proofing as much as I can. Even if that means paying for features I may never use - but then I am aware I may do so.
AIO stands for All In One. Although it's a closed loop water cooling solution just for the CPU, i have no idea why they call them AIOs, they only cool 1 component, it's stupid. But since everyone goes by that term, i just do the same so that we all understand each other. Those 3 parts ARE the only real investments. PSU, Case and Mobo. Well, my target color theme was black and red, but my MOBO cucked me. I have a Gigabyte G1 Z170x Gaming 7. It has everything i want it to have, and it's the brand i prefer over any other brand, but the color theme is all over the place. Black, white, red and silver on the chipset shroud, Red, White and Silver on the I/O and Powerphase shrouds and a black PCB... it's all over the place.... I hate that color scheme. And the worst thing is, all the Z170 boards of the G1 lineup follow the same color pattern... At least my Mastercase pro 5 is black and it makes a good contrast with the plastic parts of the mobo and with a black PCB, it's easy to set up a black red color theme, it will just have some added white and silver accents. I can live with that. And i don't wanna risk bricking my board in a failed paintjob. Personaly, a 250 gig SSD will do the job. I only have my most played games and coding software (i study computer science and i have to learn coding, god how much i hate studying for it tho) and temporarily i make do with just 120 gigs. So, i don't need much storage. For music i just use YT and popcorn time for movies and the very few anime shows i watch, i watch them online, no need to download anything. So, what storage i'd need, i can go by with a 500 gig USB3 hard drive. As i said, i don't like cable clutter. I've even removed every Hard drive bay, the only one remaining is the one below "deck" in the PSU compartment, and that stayed there because i store my tools and screws in there with a box, and it's also out of sight. No optical drives, we're in 2k17, who needs a slow optical drive when you have USB3.1 and online databases. So, my interior for now is pretty clean and empty. What's left to do is to buy my 1080ti and 4 140mm fans, 3 for the front and 1 for the back, Red leds obviously and i will probs get the Corsaid MLs with the red light, they look good. My only concern is, when i'll get my 280mm rad, will i be able to fit my 140 up top for extra airflow? That's my [Case](http://assets.coolermaster.com/products/mastercase5_0818/gallery/final/gallery-pro-b2.jpg) so that you have a picture and visualize. What i have in mind later on is to get a 280 AIO for the CPU and put it in the 2 lowest fan spots at the front and have the top fan unblocked for clean unrestricted air, for the aircooled components like the graphics card, ram heatsinks etc. As i've already said, there are no drive bays and cages, anywhere above the "floor" that separates the main case from the PSU compartment, so, i have all the space i need for my airflow. Thing is, as you've seen, all radiators measure the fin stack area, so, a 280 rad, is not actualy 280mm, it's longer. Although by looking at the case's interior, it would look like the fans will not be screwed on the rad but instead the the rad will be on the inside and the fans will be on the outside of the fan rail, i'm not entirely sure if that's possible, because if it isn't, i won't be able to fit 3 140s in the front with a 280 rad for the liquid cooler and that's a buzzkill. Before you ask, obviously that drive cage at the bottom can be moved for the rad to sit there. the case has plenty of room. One thing is certain, the finished setup will look insane!!! If only i had more money to finish it now and not having to wait so long for the final parts to arrive... Anyway, what could you possibly have to fill 7 hard drives worth of storage? Did you download all of Google's database? LUL Also, what is a ccfl converter?

: NVMe drives are still specified as Solid State Drives (SSDs) - it's just their controller type (I'm getting on thin ice real quick here, to be honest) that's different from SATA (which is the connection interface). M.2 is the NVMe drives interface. I'm planning on getting at least one for my next build, which I did list under "Planned Upgrades": https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147466 I did recently make changes to my planned upgrades, and I see now I missed something. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147596 _Overheating followed by performance throttling is a problem with these drives, so a 3rd party heatshield will be looked at when the time comes._ Yeah, as for the fans, I did consider specifying, but I took a gamble and left it as is. But to ellaborate: >-Sleeve bearing: Cheap, not very good. Quiet for a few months only, before starting to whine. Short lifespan. TL;DR: AVOID!! >-Ball bearing: Middle-way in term of price, decent performance, used in high-RPM fans (such as Delta fans). Are usually a bit more noisy, and can have a high-pitched whine if no properly lubricated. >-ML/SSO2: Only recently developed for casefans. Expensive, but quiet, and has a very long life expectancy. PWM fans are a bit more expensive - as the PWM support is something added - and as I have no need for it (personal preference and all that), paying that extra for something that will not be used would be a waste for me. Regarding fans, here's some pics from my old build: _Compared to the new and current one._ https://1drv.ms/i/s!AuFMZD__7mN2gn8RwG0rcxAB_gNy https://1drv.ms/i/s!AuFMZD__7mN2gW7YKyLs7hHIv1uH The fans I had in it: Side-fan: Spal 30100384 (90 W / 7,5 A on a 12 V rail, get in!) https://www.a1electric.com/spal/specs/30100375-0384.pdf _Used some industrial 100 W rheostat to control it._ 2x Delta GFB1212VHW http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/df12gf.html 2x Delta FFB1212SH http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/deff12suhisp.html 3x Delta FFB0812SH http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de80ffhisp.html 1x Delta FFB1212EHE https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835213010 I estimated having 350 Watts worth of fans in it. Hence 2 PSUs, connected in series: 1200 W (components) + 850 W (fans). _Hell, all the lights flickered when firing the thing up. ~2300 W peak!_ xD Lighting: ...Clownfiesta. Individual White, Red, Blue and Green CCFLs (x2 of all) on 8 flip-switches. By comparison...my current build: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AuFMZD__7mN2gRXCkzZFeIoRNkDB While I had great fun with it back then, I have matured now. RGB only if there is no other choice. There's bloody RGB on everything now. >-<
a single 1200W PSU would suffice tho. Even with 2 Graphics cards. And yeah, i know what NVMe is, thing is, i said just NVMe because that interface is tied to the M.2 Form factor. Last time i checked, there were no NVMe Sata 2.5" SSDs. NVMe drives are only either in M.2/U.2 form interface or in PCIe card form factor. All 3 connections use the PCIe bus but still, different form factor. So, yeah, i assumed you'd think of the M.2 gumstick drives when i said NVMe. Anyway, the samsung drives are what i also had in mind, specificaly the 960 EVO. The pro variants are a bit expensive for me. As for the fans, i had in mind 3 140s at the front and a 140 at the back. I'm all for positive pressure. The case I use has enough vents for the excess air to escape without much effort and it will keep most of the dust out. I'll also get an AIO at some point, when i upgrade to an unlocked CPU to start OCing. And about the RGB madness... Holy shit, everything is RGB now... I have no idea how did this all start. It came out of nowhere. In the 100 chipset series there was no RGB or it was kept at a minimum, and now all of a sudden, the new 200 series have RGB everywhere. My brother built his new PC and went for a z270 board and holy shit, that's not a pc, it's a Kappa Pride light show... Thanks but NO THANKS... Better have a static lighting and a stable color theme, symmetry and aesthetics above all. I'll have to agree with the maturity comment there. My brother is younger and liked the light show, i'm older and prefer a consistent color theme, prefferably black and red. PS: When a fan has a separate molex power connector, you know it means business!!! I can see the 350W worth of fans... Your wallet must have suffered for it

: I made a post on fans earlier in this thread: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/9oAyWOcr-fpsperformance-updates?comment=00040001 _And the Corsair ML/Premium/Pro (honestly, not sure about the exact name) would get bought by me, had I currently been in the market._ ;) Basically, it's like this: Sleeve-bearing -> double-ball bearing -> SSO2 bearing / ML (Magnetic Levitation). Personally, I'm paying the premium, whatever(!) it may be, on fans to get the best ones. Got the fans I currently got myself listed here, along with all my other specs.: https://boards.eune.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/off-topic-en/fQOqgEgz-show-your-set-up?comment=0001 Though I won't buy Noiseblockers again. The 2 I had in the front died on me way too soon, completely dried up (which is worrying, as I got 4 more, including the 2 on the CPU-cooler). And now I run Noctua IPPC IP-52 fans down in the front. And will likely stick to those in the future (as long as I can get my hands on some non-PWM ones, as I use a manual rheostat fan controller).
Happy to see that you mention cable management. In that regard, i honestly don't think an SSD is even needed. My take would be to have an NVMe and then a big ass hard drive for storage. It makes everythink look a lot cleaner. Less cables, more free space, less clutter. the problem about it is the price... NVMe drives are quite a bit more expensive than regular SSDs... About the PWM or not, honestly, i'd recommend PWM fans and 2 way splitters if you need to install more fans than your mobo has headers. A mobo header can power up 2 fans with a splitter with no problems and having your fans controlled by your motherboard is the best way to have a precise fan curve. Most manual controllers have a 2-3 level fan speed adjustment, something i'm not a fan of... A more precise fan curve based on system temps would be a better option, since you won't have to operate on a higher fan speed for no reason and at the same time, if you need more fan speed, it will adjust as soon as it needs, you won't forget to crank it up and won't risk having your temps go high by accident. I'm not sure i understand your order of importance in the bearing types. If i'd have to guess, at the top would be the SSO2 and ML. Anyway, recently i saw the ML fans from corsair and since my z170 board doesn't support the newer RGB clownfiesta( thank god, that RGB epidemic has gone too far, i want a pc not a circus) and the ML fans have static lighting, they would be a good fit for my color theme and they should be a lot quieter than traditional mechanical bearings and another plus would be that huge RPM control range. I've seen a lot of good reviews wanted to give them a try..
PaladinNO (EUNE)
: Aye, under normal circumstances, thermal throttling shouldn't happen...unless the fans are clogged with dust, or barely runs at all due to dried up lubrications (that has happened to me and my previous Asus GTX 780 OC - 1 fan ran at ~20%, the other at 100% to try to compensate). Also, if it's laptop, the GPU can be denied to run on full power due to restrictions in the Power Settings. Ofc., only 15% sounds a bit...off, even with a manual override. As for GPU fan profile, I've been dabbling a bit with that myself, and set up a rather aggressive profile on my [GTX 1080](http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=08G-P4-6286-KR) (using MSI Afterburner): 0-45°C = 0 % 45-60°C = 40 % 60-70°C = 60 % 70-100°C = 100 % _Don't even reach 70°C on the GPU if not playing Doom 4 (max for this session - 41 days - has been 68°C). And when the PC idles, the GPU fans don't even turn._ I am a little paranoid when it comes to heat, so I have even reduced TJ Max from 105 to 95 on my CPU - so should it ever get to that, for whatever reason, the PC will cut its own power before any component damage occur. Not that I am actually worried that will ever happen - did a 7+ hour burn-test on my CPU, and the highest it got was 78°C ([air cooled](http://thermalright.com/product/true-black-rev-c/), [2 fan push/pull](http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10212/fan-656/Noiseblocker_NB-BlackSilentPro_PL-2_120mm_x_25mm_Ultra_Quiet_Fan_-_1400_RPM_-_20_dBA.html) setup). Well, we'll see what _House x33_ says, and if he's interested in listing his/her hardware specifications.
> [{quoted}](name=PaladinNO,realm=EUNE,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=9oAyWOcr,comment-id=002b000000000000,timestamp=2017-07-30T20:16:02.110+0000) > > barely runs at all due to dried up lubrications About that, have you tried the new ML fans from corsair? they're supposed to not have ball bearings and stuff, and i wanted an actual user opinion. Anyway, yeah, like, how could he manage a 15% under load? what kind of throttle would do that? Thermal throttle can go all the way down to single digits but still, 15% it's an odd number. If you throttle that hard, you can't play for more than 5 mins before the GPU starts smoking, you'll brick the card... And since he's saying he's playing like that, that's an extended period of time, so, how does he do that without having the card explode? It can't be thermal, it would destroy the card, although the card might actualy shut down. So, something's really off.
House x33 (EUW)
: You might want to take a look into minions spawn as well. My game starts with 200+ FPS but drops to below 80 as soon as minions spawn. Also GPU is being forced to run at only 15% power.
What are your stats on your CPU? also, your temps. A thermal throttle on your GPU is highly unlikely, most Graphics Cards have good coolers to support overclocks, so, a thermal throttle is not so often, or at least shouldn't be. If your CPU is maxed out at 100% and your GPU runs at a 15% you definitely have a CPU bottleneck but you could as well have a thermal throttle at the same time, 15% is abysmally low for a GPU to run at, even in LoL... So, check your temps and usage % on both CPU and GPU. If you're indeed get a thermal throttleing with no overclock on your hardware, you should probs have it checked. Could be a faulty cooler or dust accumulation. How good is your airflow? Check those first. LoL is a very easy game for most PCs to run at max, especialy in low resolutions like 1080p. I don't even have a graphics card and my IG from my i5 runs the game at a stable 110fps. so, there has to be a problem with your hardware. Check those parameters because your PC might actualy be in some danger.
PaladinNO (EUNE)
: Why is your GPU forced to run at only 15% power? That sounds like a heating issue to me. Do a temp check with RealTemp: https://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/
Or a severe CPU bottleneck... Thermal throttling isn't that easy to trigger, especialy on a Graphics Card, he'd have to lower the fan curve and overclock it to actualy hit a thermal throttle... For example, if he paired an old pentium 3 with a GTX 1080ti, he should have expected this, you can't just do that.
: I haven't bugsplatted more than twice in legit the last 3 years of playing. And both of those were on the new client while it was first out and was running wonky. So no, bugsplats don't happen in 50% of games. Maybe you've got an issue that you need to solve that's making the game bugsplat
a bug is a faulty line of code. period. A faulty line of code in a program is present in every single copy of this program. A bug's presence doesn't affect everyone because there are specific criteria for the bug to trigger. Just because you don't get a bugsplat doesn't mean the bug isn't there, you just haven't triggered it yet. If i paid attention during my coding classes in the University i'd be able to code and even if i was, i can't just change the game's code. Since my system functions properly and doesn't crash and only this specific piece of software causes problems, guess where the problem is. The problem started about 3 patches ago.
FUUUDG3 (NA)
: So you're problem is more important than the 1000s of players who are having FPS issues, on all rigs, even those better than yours?
No. I am not talking about MY problem, because it's not MY problem. It's the game's problem. A software that bugs out in a functional OS, is a problematic software and it will bug out in all systems. Framerate dips on the other hand are a system specific problem. If someone has a better system than mine then they won't have those framerate dips. If the framerate dip problem was software specific and not system specific then EVERYONE would have those problems because EVERYONE runs the exact SAME code. Simple, isn't it? So, why should they focus on the outdated systems when their software itself has faulty code causing it to crash in 100% of the playerbase if triggered. The faulty lines are in everyone's game, in mine, yours, your friends', EVERYONE's. If you don't get that problem often then you just're just lucky enough to not have triggered it but the problem is there. You can't realize this probs because it hasn't happened to you. But, software faults are universal while system faults are user specific. And 1000s of players are only a small fraction compared to the millions of players in the playerbase and every single one of them can trigger the bug while only few will have the framerate dip.
Riot JxE (NA)
: FPS/Performance Updates
Yo, i don't know where these complaints are coming from but i think there are other problems far more important... My system is the following: A Case of which the model doesn't matter Gigabyte G1 Z170X Gaming 7 Intel i5 6500 16 GB ram HyperX DDR4 with 14 latency at 2133MHz Samsung SSD reused from my old laptop. That's all. And i play the game at max with a stable 110-120 fps with rare dips to 95 fps... Yes, you saw it, i have NO Graphics Card. Yet. I play the game at a decently high fps count with the IG of the cpu... So, if other systems can't do that with an actual Graphics Card, they're just too old and outdated, almost ancient... The actual problems that you should look into are the very frequent bugsplats at the start of the game. It happens more than 50% of the time. I get a bugsplat as soon as the game loads up and we get into the spawning platform. Now, that's a problem. The low fps counts on ancient machines and toaster grade rigs shouldn't be your priority tbh.
: Almost as fun as having to deal with a marksmen right clicking.
Well, yeah, Marksmen are full right click champs with some spells as bonuses and they have range advantage. But at least you can oneshot them or at least keep out of their firing range, they have no way to come at your face if you keep away. Akali tho is a different matter.
Are (NA)
: Okay, sure. Fair point. But what is your response to the fact that she's a terrible team fighter, can't siege well unless she splits, doesn't deal well against siege because her wave clear is melee, doesn't have as much damage as other assassins/mages on a realistic rotation, and doesn't really bring anything to the team except pure damage? Not to mention, her laning can be really bad if you know how to harass and manage waves well. Do not dodge my other points.
Lol, you can't harass an Akali and call it a day. She'll heal it back up by the time your spells are back up lol
