: Riot attending to what people complain about on the boards.
Häxel (EUW)
: sorry didn't know that. I just assumpted Ornn as demigod with breathing fire, who definetly forged {{item:3373}} , made maybe also the original armor that magicaly surrounds itself with fire. I don't know every items origen and jsut theorycrafted on some of the items. For exampel i also don't know where {{item:3143}} comes from. Still that i get downvoted for maybe not that good theorycrafting on a funtopic - wow.
The downvotes are probably because you've been speculating without must thinking or knowledge of the lore, and made connections based on pretty much nothing. For example, {{item:3068}} is obviously Shuriman because of the Shurima crest on it, crest present on the *Sun* Disc. {{item:3170}} is not related to Diana more than the fact that both are about the moon. {{item:3190}} is however indeed related to Leona, because Leona is part of the Solari. As already said, {{item:3191}} is Sejuani's. Trundle doesn't use a mallet, but a club, Morde doesn't use a battle flail, but a morgenstern. Also, it's *Lord Van Damme*'s. This kind of things

> Riot never listens to feedback — The boards, all the time
: By that you mean the +40 Mana cost at max rank for Q? Meanwhile he needs 50 - 90 less Mana in rotation because W no longer costs anything, plus it refunds. Before this, his basic maxed rotation costed 40 + 90 + 100 Mana (230), refunding nothing. After this, his basic maxed rotation costs 80 + 0 + 100 Mana (180), while refunding 10% Max Mana. That 40 Mana cost increase compensated him losing 90 Mana cost, even there not fully. So not only he got buffed by needing less Mana for rotation, he got the Mana refund on top of it. With extended combos, he will usually just use more Es and Qs, where Es are unchanged and this just means paying 40 more Mana per repeated Q. He would need to cast it three times in one combo (omegalul) to pay 30 more mana at which point it gets refunded by the new W mechanic requiring 500 - 300 Mana. So I can't find the "the mana cost of his other spells are taking the potential refund into account" part. With 500 - 300 Mana it's power shift, with more Mana it's buff.
Not all spells are used equally, his E and Q are spammed A LOT more than his W
: well isn't that part of the problem then? Riot not nerfing marksmen
The problem in itself is not really power in the sense of pure damage. Pure damage is what ADCs should do. The problem is more systemic.
Ayzev (EUNE)
: The moment when a 10% mana refund on demand is made out to be a disadvantage
Yes, because the mana cost of his other spells are taking the potential refund into account.
: Riot's clearly lying about nerfing Marksmen :\ Since when has Riot STUCK to a nerf that they put on marksmen without buffing the recently nerfed? over 2 years ago(different balance team then) Toplane is fucked thanks to Riot
> Riot's clearly lying about nerfing Marksmen :\ They never said they were *nerfing* them

And also maybe some changes for fighters after that so that they have more potential to carry a match if they get ahead than they currently do. Yeah well lets just hope they don't fuck up the ADC rework as much as they fucked up the assassin one
Not the same thing. They're assessing the whole Marksmen systemic issues. They'll touch on power curve, crit, and possibly other things. They're not reworking champions, but the system, and that *usually* goes pretty well. Obviously, you can also expect some changes to a few champs, but that's not the focal point here.
: The marksman changes have "been coming" for about a year now buddy Ill believe that lie when I see it
They said it was gonna be for midseason… Just wait for midseason. But obviously, whatever they will do, you guys will complain as long as ADCs are somewhat relevant.

But they DON'T overpower adcs in short fights. They've all been nerfed so badly that 1 aa from an adc does more damage than their spells, costs nothing, gives hp and have no cooldown (except jhin who only gets 4 before reloading)
As I said, they need mana-gating to justify a higher power. Right now, their power lies within their range and utility, because their mana currently doesn't justify the damage. With more mana management needed, Riot will be able to gradually give more specific power to mages. Maybe not flat damage but more range, bigger AoE, more CC, etc…
: Riot wants mages to roleplay as DoTA champions
Because mana should be a balance point for mages. As long as mages don't have mana problem, then can't deal more damage. If you want your mages to be more powerful (which the boards seem to be all for), then they need a weakness with that. Since ADC are the durable champions, those who can fight for very long thanks to manaless AA, mages need mana-gating in order to legitimately overpower ADC in short fights.
: Please don't go through with the mana changes
> Mages need an item or rune that causes their autos to scale off their AP {{item:3115}} ??
: I'm failing to see the relevance in mentioning that adcs are OP? What does that have to do with mages.
Basically, on the boards, everything that does not directly nerf ADCs actually buffs ADCs
: Most of these changes result in mages breaking even around levels 4 or 5, and then begin significantly falling behind their current live mana amounts. Anivia, for example, will have some 200 less base mana come level 18. Add to that several of key component items are getting nerfed as well, it's a rather severe net nerf for all mages.
Note that even with level mana at level 5, you still have more mana regen
: If they want less waveclear, how about this: *dramatic pause* Give minions more MR over time!! Instead of this mess. You're welcome.
> Give minions more MR over time!! AKA making ADCs even more needed than before while making last-hitting a pain for mages. Brilliant idea
: Except for the part where GLP and Ludens are buffed and Archangel's just got nerfed.
Seeing your downvotes, it seems people here don't like facts…

> Reduced reliable lockdown. Base W is a slow instead of a root - upgraded version is still a root, but duration is down a bit. Would you consider adding a grounding effect? More than the actual immobility, the strength of a root also lies with its ability to prevent dashes/blinks. Or is that actually the point of the change?
: Yeah it's really good on Xerath amirite
Well, maybe you'll like Arcane Comet, then? Xerath does have cc to land it, right?
: Meanwhile mages don't have an actual damage rune unless they have a spamable slow in their kit.
: I mean this with no snark or hint of malice in my heart, but I don't think Riot (nee Tencent) gives a tenth of a crap how well players like them as long as they're buying skins.
Pretty sure Tencent doesn't care, but I truly believe Riot does care how they're perceived.
: Riot today feels... slow
> I feel like the old Riot would already fixed most of the flaws of today, or atleast they would've tried much faster If old Riot was such a blessing, why were there problems in the first place?
Hibeki (NA)
: If riot wants to stop allegations of game states they need to start providing actual info.
The reason they don't share a lot of data is that data is useful only if you know how to use it. The best argument for that is when you see how people just look at win rates to justify balance. Data is to be carefully looked at, and one needs deep understanding in game design and/or statistics to be able to correctly make sense of it. So no, they don't hide data because they're lying to us or afraid to show "bad stats", they just want to avoid having people incorrectly use or cherry-pick the data to push their agenda and further the dislike for the company.
: Yeah. Feels pretty bad. Not getting full effect from Conqueror has a similar feel. On the plus side, we've been testing a few new fighter items that hopefully don't need to have the 'melee only' flag on them, but it's hard to say if they'll make it to Live in that state. Recently I put in a change for testing where Urgot was just considered melee for the purposes of systems like these, but overwhelmingly got negative feedback on that. My personal preference would be that we have another split similar to how we have range / melee that describes defensive profile rather than range profile. In most cases they line up, but if for example, we had a light / heavy split, that might do good stuff for making champions like Urgot and GP more balanceable within the item system. Biggest immediate problem I can see with that, however, is that there's no immediate gameplay connection to that profile in the same way there is for AA ranges.
Have you tought about making items *scale* with range? The higher the range, the lesser the benefit. Feels like a nice organic way of balancing items, but it probably requires a lot of work.

That's not my point. It's been asked multiple times, and Riot answered multiple times about it. Keeping asking won't change what they said.

It's been asked and asked and asked, and also answered and answered and answered. Stop asking, please…
: GLP needs some help, but Spellbinder is designed to be rather niche item. It's a deceptively strong and rather underrated item as a whole, and changes to it could potentially be a huge indirect nerf (or a ridiculously huge buff) to the champions that use it well.
I'm pretty sure at one point the meta will ask for {{item:3907}} in proplay and then it'll be considered trolling not to take it in soloQ
: Its sad too because everyone of them look waaay more badass than the current ones. Now theyre just so horrifyingly generic looking
I must say I **completely** disagree. The new low-angle Ez splash is way more dynamic, WW's old splash was terrible, new Kog actually looks like something remotely possible, Olaf got way more Berserk. Ryze is pretty much the same in feel. Kayle, as much as I loved her old splash pose, the new one is more intimidating and polished.

: Opinion: New LB > Old LB
: Is the mentality of "Miss a minion by 1 HP? You're bad." what Riot wants?
The goal here (I'm not gonna discuss on whether it's good/bad or well/badly done) is to make the cannon minion a more important part of laning, and making then the reward for taking it better, but also the reward for preventing your opponent from taking it more important and satisfying.

Two rods become a hat, and you wonder about a crystal changing color?
: false, dash doesnt require you to hit a skillshot, you can dash anyway, it just goes on cooldown, leona doesnt gain a sheild, just resistances, and why would it refresh
Ok, true for the dash, but the resistance buff is kind of like a shield, in a sense, and it does refresh if the explosion hits a unit.

Both the aspects of the Sun {{champion:89}} and the Moon {{champion:131}} have: * An AA empowerment * A target-locked dash that requires you to hit a skillshot * A light-themed mark on enemies * A circular AoE hard CC * A shield that refreshes upon hitting enemies
: @Riot: What's with you & your fetish to constantly give Lux's ult cooldown refund buffs?
I think they're trying to find a specific place for Lux. Like an artillery mage who works best in big, long teamfights. Kinda like a mage Demacian equivalent for Darius. Making her also a bit more different from a Xerath or a Vel'Koz.
