: There was obviously an issue with placements last season as I was master and got placed in gold 4. Then Riot realised the problem and fixed it. Everyone had to play 1 additional placement match after the fix, and I got placed to plat 1, which is the highest rank you can get after placement. People don't always complain for no reason, and Riot is not always right.
The important thing to realize is that Riot made it right and everything was then fine.

I on the other hand only have to pay a total of 20k USD for my whole college education; also worked part time so I am only in 5k in debt and because I live in this great country, I got the opportunity to go to medical school next year. > The difference between europe and america is that in america, you actually have the opportunity to get rich. Thanks for the support, but I think it's pretty much impossible to start conversation about imperial vs metric or Fahrenheit vs Celsius without starting an argument of USA vs everyone else. Because that's pretty much how that works. To be truly honest, one of the things the world hates most about Americans is how they think they're alone on this earth. (not saying you do, it's just a general feel) So when they argue that the system they are *the only ones* to use is better, they just appear clueless to us.

Yeah, I get that °F isn't *that* bad, what I mean is that both °F and °C are equally useful (with maybe some very specific circumstances where one is better), but since Kelvin are based on °C, and that °C has a way better scientific definition, it's better to go to °C for ease and science purposes. Also, pretty much *everyone* uses °C, but that's irrelevant in the discussion of "which is better".

Ever heard of inflation?
: Funny thing is that you won't get your sighstone before minute 10 - 15 or even later
You know the quest gold is reduced from 750 to 500, right? And remember that since you don't have to rush Sightstone, you'll be able to get tier 2 quicker, with better generation.
: Get your shit together, Riot.
> What about the ones who want the active item cdr ? Active item CDR was a balance nightmare. Overly frequent Redemptions and Banner/Zz'Rot. They may reintroduce a bit of it later, but 65% is ridiculous. > The ones who want the other item's actives ? Twin Shadows and Shurelya's Reverie may come back in some form with the AP itemization overhaul. As for the shielding, Locket exists, and the 800 unspent gold will help you get any of those quicker than before, probably with better stats. Also, the item active versions were subpar for a while now. The only one I still built a lot was Talisman. > The ones who want to rush Sightstone and not needing to wait to finish the quest ? Rushing Sightstone was a gold consuming nobrainer that made early kills extremely advantageous by preventing any gank extremely quickly. Quests are less snowbally, which is what the boards want, right? And in the case it takes too much time, it's easier to balance.

Dude, you played, like, 3 games since preseason, don't pretend you're an expert on the state of the game.
: Play semantics as much as you want, doesn't change my point nor the facts.
Supports have been forced to rush Sightstone for 5 seasons with already extremely limited gold income. Stay in your toplane island where you don't realize how supports have it rougher than you, you Flufflepuff.

: Riot did not learn anything from S7 for the support role.
> No Riot, we did not rush Ardent because we wanted to ''be a bigger participant in the game''. We rushed Ardent because IT WAS THE ONLY THING THAT WE COULD DO. Because rushing Sightstone is definitely not the only thing that we can't do… I don't mind buying Sightstone, I like warding, but I surely wouldn't mind a world in which I can build Knight's Vow or Redemption sooner.
: 7 seasons of continuously nerfing bruisers and toplane. 4 Seasons of promises to rework bruisers and give them more item choices. Meanwhile supports get worked on every season to make them more enjoyable and open up their impact and choices. Yeah something you say doesn't add up.
Support is grouping some Vanguards, some Wardens, some Controllers and all Enchanters. Support is a whole position. Bruisers are only a subset of toplane.
: Riot Please Do Not Remove the Active on Face of the Mountain :/
Well, you'll spend a lot less gold on vision, so you should be able to rush Locket way quicker, when you think about it.
: PSA: Full support items are getting removed.
Give them some time. This is a step in the right direction. They will assess the changes and probably add new items. They said they're thinking of reintroducing Twin Shadows and/or Shurelya's Reverie.

: The goal is not necessarily to reduce Support’s influence in the vision game, but rather to lessen the economic impact required to do so.
Do you have further plans in mind (not even concrete) to address the "support is a walking warding machine" issue? As a support main, I don't really mind focusing on warding, but I wouldn't mind having it less centralized on me either.
: Wait why would that make it more frustrating for support mains? I've played support since season 3 and am SUPER happy that I no longer have to build two crappy pure support items first. Now, I have my one support item, which gives me vision and support stats (similar to jungle), and I'm free to build what I want. Personally I think this makes the support role so much more interesting now.
I mained support since Season 1, I saw the introduction of Sightstone (happiest day of my life) and now, 5 seasons later, its departure. Goodbye, good friend. *sigh(t)* "Sight is the key to victory. Also stone!" — Braum

: Yes, we'll be testing it out as part of the upcoming AP item pass. Not guaranteed it will be a part of that, but if not we will try to bring it back somewhere else. We'll also be looking for a way to bring back Talisman/Reverie. We will be monitoring tank supports to see if they need a way to defend an indivudual ally in addition to Knight's Vow.
