: If you already gather how "mute and report" works, there should be no issue. If someone bothers wth egirl and sees no acknowledgement from you they will either stop adressing you or go ham. In either case you still won.
That's still not the issue. I am annoyed that if i report these people and mute them and block them i still end up in games with them. Not even vs them but in same team. Case in which they start trolling or making shit comments in champ select. I just wish this is actually taken seriously when its reported.. {{sticker:cass-cry}}

: and what did you say to that?
Mute. I generally dont reply. Sometimes my partner does and we both mute the person and report it afterwards.

: im curious. how do people come to the conclusion that you're , in fact, a girl? is it just based on your summoner name or do you go beyond that to state or suggest that you are a girl? I've been playing this game for a long time and i've never seen someone go for the female gender based insults without previous input from the victim on the matter. Most people ignore the nickname and just go for what the champion is called. I've never had anyone go "report voldymort". they always go for "report {{champion:432}} / {{champion:9}} /{{champion:17}} " or "report this support/jungler/troll"
Based on my name. They simply look at my name, see Ms in it and call me egirl. I don't ever go out saying im a female. I was called an egirl yesterday in some game by my support simply because i was passive in lane. ''ah ofc, its an egirl''.

: > I do not identify as an egirl. I identify as a GAMER. Not gamer girl, not egirl nothing but a GAMER. are you bothered to be seen as a girl outside of league too or just within the game? also why are you bothered to be seen as a gamer who happens to be a girl? is the "girl" variable relevant to your skill as a gamer?
I am not seen as a ''girl'' outside game. I am seen as female. To me a girl doesn't go above teen, its a very relative term. And about my skill as a gamer, i have not been referred to as a girl or egirl anywhere but in league. I don't take offense when ppl say i suck at my lane or i fed or whatever. I just consider egirl to be sexist and insulting, as i put in the original post, it either refers to a person in their teens or a internet slut and i am neither. I would have perhaps identified myself as egirl when i was 15 or 16 and lived in the ''emo'' age but not now. And as i said, totally fine if some people do. But if its reported as sexist comment it should have a weight in the report and not be disregarded as its not seen by everyone as an insult. Contexts are always shown in game chat. And what annoys me is ending up in games repeatedly with the people i report for such flame on top of blocking them. It happened too many times and that's why i write this post. I want this comment to have a weight when its being reported.
: Egirl should be considered a severe insult.
My point is simple. If i report someone for calling me an egirl, which usually is accompanied by other stuff like: shut up egirl, fuckin egirl, etc., it should be considered as much as an offense as any other sexist comment. Since IT IS a sexist comment. If there are people there who identify themselves as egirl, good for you. I just want this to be taken more seriously as it is extremely insulting (At least the way it was always addressed to me). I do not identify as an egirl. I identify as a GAMER. Not gamer girl, not egirl nothing but a GAMER. All i want following this post is for this to be taken seriously when its reported.

: Gaming culture has come far since the days of everybody playing Halo on Xbox having at one point fucked my mother, but there is still a massive gap between it and polite society. Treatment of women is a major road block in that path. With utmost respect to your situation and full knowledge that I might be considered to be victim-blaming in saying this, I recommend to female gamers that they remove the sex identifiers from their gamer tags. It sucks that you can't choose the name you want, but ultimately you'll save yourself a lot of grief in the long run by doing so. As for your proposal, I don't think Riot will agree that "egirl" on its own should be classified as an insult, let alone hate speech/deserving of an escalated punishment, but sexism is generally received poorly by Riot, so you're within your rights to report and expect punishment if you're made to feel worse for being or appearing to be a woman.
I am a pretty old woman so to speak, I game for leisure and practically to spend time with my partner..We have names together, and yes that cringes some kids but we don`t really care. I am simply offended being called an egirl. Nobody really knows my shit and my life.. i don`t believe this should just be allowed to go unpunished .. And at the same time we live in world where if you assume someone`s gender you can end up being fined or publicly shamed for disrespect.
: Egirl should be considered a severe insult.
I consider it sexistic. Generally i only see ppl and myself being called egirl when we disagree with someone or criticize or just simply comment anything in chat that they dont agree with. So for that reason i do not see anything positive in being called egirl. As you see in definitions form urban dex. most of these are legit for under 18 years of age except for the slut one. Which also mentions is extremely insulting to call a woman egirl. ...
