Now the 20% True damage implies you deal 800 AD, 200 True Damage. After mitigation, to the same target it would be 480 AD + 200 True Damage. Effectively in that example you'de dealing 80 bonus damage than without it, and if you don't have shields, there is no counterplay to that damage.

Except Duskblade before had a passive that didn't break AD assassins' damage. That and items were still more expensive. They were a little more cost effective, but their base prices made it so that mid laners and junglers had clear windows of opportunity to exploit their lack of damage. Now you can get your first full Lethality item by ~8-12 minutes and you just roflstomp in terms of damage. You were never able to do this before Lethality became the new "armor pen". Youmuu's wasn't even that great, most AD assassins still rushed Tiamat first and at times went straight into Last Whisper. Also RIP Last Whisper, the old LW was actually amazing. Also stacking armor pen. besides Youmuu's+LW was pretty much trolling unless you needed Maw for the defensive passive. Nowadays you just stack Lethality before it's simply THE best option. Plus, Lethality builds invalidate every other build for AD assassins. Rengar would love to go full crit., but Lethality is outright better. Shaco would love to go AP or crit., but Lethality is outright better. Kha'zix would love to go Tiamat or Manamune based builds, but Lethality is outright better. Talon would love to go full burst cheese build, but Lethality is just that and better. Zed would love to go BotRK and crit. based builds, but Lethality is THE best option. Lethality is so good that it just invalidates any other possible build path for AD assassins, with Duskblade being the core of the issue, acting as a crutch item for AD assassins. The fact that it's killing off other potential build paths should signify that the statistic is extremely good as well as cost effective.

: Sorry but 35 AP doesn't do squat if you can't farm and you have no mana to poke or farm either so mages have the short stick. I speak from experience as AD does not lose really anything going hexdrinker first as they can still all in at 6 and get away with it while we can't do squat.

: Ahem. Due to experience, I can say a mage will lose out way more going defensive first item than an AD. Top that with the awful mage mana nerfs, mages have been heavily crapped on to say the least. Maybe their hatred is because they have experienced this crap- the high burst, low risk AD assassins get everything they ever want, while the AP side is always either nerfed hard, given half assed mini reworks and then forgotten about (Karma), and their itemization just torn up while AD gets all the good stuff. The frustration is real because Riot is doing it, not because they are ignorant or just downvoting for whatever reason. I've been here since season 4 and have watched what Riot has done ever since then. The frustration is there because Riot has done this to them, and it's not right. At all.

: talons ad ratios suck compared to most assassins full combo. Its just that he has an extra ability (his passive with RIDICULOUS RATIO) early. Typically speaking talons damage is about 60% that of zeds on a single target. His base damages are not even that impressive. Kha has a 1.3 ad ratio on q on a 3/4 second cd that goes up to 2.6ad, and AATROX has a 4.5 TOTAL ad ratio on 1 ability. Riven hits around 8.3 or 8.5X ad. Talons like at 5.3 or something. Zed can hit around 10 or 11x ad, Wukong is like 7 or 8, depending on how you do it. The problem with talon is everything is long range AND ez to hit.
