I'm going to be resigning from Braum. It was short, but I didn't find the same enjoyment I was expecting to. Sorry, folks!

We can go look for a Poro? I'd love that! Oh! But first i'm sure you'd like to met Gear and Gizmo. And maybe they would like to meet the Poros." *She would walk back to her bag and set down the cane next to it. She opened the bag and reach in to pull out a light wooden box. She would walk back to Braum and open the box. Inside there was velvet padding, and laying in two separate ditches in the cushioning were two oval, rock looking, metallic things. Lucette would pull them out and set the box down to put one of the objects. She would hold them out for Braum to see. She then pressed something on their beak and tossed them in the air. They sprung to life. Parts popping out and twisting and turning into place. It took little time as the rock like objects had turned into metallic birds well before hitting the floor. They flew in perfect sync as they spun and twirled in the air to land on Lucettes shoulder, on one each shoulder. They looked nearly identical except one had a blue glow from it's eyes and the other had red glow from it's eyes. She smiled at Braum* "Braum, this is Gear and Gizmo." *She would gesture to the bird of name. The one with blue eyes was gestured as Gear, while the one with red eyes was gestured as Gizmo* The large man looked with interest at the two little birdlike machines. He said nothing until they had landed on Lucette's shoulders, curiosity simply bidding him to observe. Finally, he opened his mouth to speak. "Incredible," came the simply word. "How did you manage this? I have heard of some... 'living' contraptions, but... I have never seen one for myself. Now, here are two, right inside my home. "Do they... speak? Or understand me? I am not sure what to expect from any of this, really."

Pulling out the cane and a small wooden box. Setting the wooden box someplace nearby, she would walk to braum* "I actually made this cane as a way for self defense. Mostly. I'm not very strong so i have to use other ways to keep the baddies and monsters away. So, i made this!" *She would present the cane to him. The cane was rather thick and didn't seem like it was entirely made of wood.* "Of course one of the ways you can use it is for balance and also to grab things with it" *She would gesture to the curve at the top of the cane as was custom with most canes* "But it can also be used as a blunt weapon. It's made of wood and metal so it does a good job with that. It also is a holster for a sword. Or, blade rather." > > *She would press and hold a small spot on the curved handle of the cane and she pulled it away. Revealing a thin, but sharp and strong blade from the rest of the cane. It's not very big of course, but the point is self defense and some people would run when they realize you have a weapon of your own." *She would put it back in the cane base, it clicking back in place* "Now, there's one other feature, but i'm only going to show you and not actually use it." *She would press and hold another button. This time, the metal on the very bottom of the cane raised up, and a trigger appeared not far from where her finger was* "It also doubles as a gun. Only you can only shoot one bullet at a time, so if one needs to use it i would hope one shot would be enough to get the message across" (Apologies for the delay, I had my wisdom teeth out this week and have mostly been a vegetable. Should be good in a day or two.) Braum watched with a slightly furrowed brow as she showed him the various mechanics of the sturdy contraption. It was clearly much more than he had originally taken it to be. He looked slightly confused as she spoke of the different functions and uses - he was never the most savvy with these things. Still, he understood the general purpose, even if he had not the slightest clue how it all actually worked and came together. and gave her a smile. "And you did this all on your own? I am impressed. I could not even make a regular cane for myself... not that one is needed, heh." He paused, before grinning wider and adding, "And I appreciate you not firing a gun here. Even inside, it might scare away the goats. Or even worse, the poros. They can be skittish, the gentle little critters. Braum gives them courage, but a good startle might still send them running. Perhaps later we can track one down, once you have shown me your creations. They are very friendly, though a bit shy."

If you're alright with that" *She would smile back at him before she returned to her own stew. Eating the food with a calm and relaxed expression. A couple of times in the middle of her eating, she would stare into the fire and her mind would wander. Wander to her present. It's problems. It's good. It's curiosity on how to escape it or what will soon come. When she finally finished she would look up and give Braum a big smile as she set the now empty bowl in her lap* "Thank you for the food! It was good! Now then, i can show you my stuff when you're done with your eating. I think i'll show you the cane first and save the best for last" He was done more or less at the same time as she was, rising to take both his bowl as well as hers back to the 'kitchen' area of the cozy cabin. He smiled encouragingly at the woman when she offered to show him her belongings, and agreed to seeing the cane first. "I will gladly watch and learn, friend. Show me your inventions. Should I take a seat, or would this be better standing, do you think?" As he waited for her to answer, he picked up the fire poker and adjusted the logs that were burning to get a more comfortable glow within the hearth.

But they're a bit..... different, than the kinds of pets you're used too. *She would smile at him then take another bite of her food* You'll like them though. Do you want to see them first then? And i can show you the cane after that. "I will follow your lead," He answered her, not minding which she preferred to show him first. He beamed brightly at her, before returning to his stew. He paced himself a little more this time, perhaps not wanting to be finished a second bowl before she had even finished her first. He did not say much more for the time being, allowing the duo to fall into a comfortable silence that was interrupted only by the soft crackle of the fire within the hearth in front of them. The winds outside seemed to be calm enough, for once, leaving a fairly still air to the mountain.

And maybe after i show you the cane, you'd like to meet Gear and Gizmo. *She would eat another scoop of the broth* Braum nodded his head in agreement, preferring to finish their meal first, as well. He wasted no time in doing just that either, emptying his bowl in fairly little time. He returned for a second helping - he was a big man, after all. By now, the stew was not *too* hot. Certainly still warm, but much easier to take up and simply begin eating right away. As he continued to eat, he asked Lucette in a curious tone, "Who is Gear? And, ah... Gizmo, did you say? I did not see you come with anyone else. Do you have pets in your bag? I love pets." He paused, a moment, before grinning and adding, "Pets love Braum, too, heh."

Ddoooooooooo you WANT, to see what else it can do?" *The brightness in her eyes never faltered and her smile turned into a bit of a smirk, but still a warm smile* He seemed to notice her excitement, both at the mention of her home and at the prospect of showing him more about the cane. He was interested regardless, but even if he wasn't, he would be happy to do so if it put this much of a smile on her face. He nodded his head encouragingly, before asking, "Do you want to finish eating first? Do you need some space to show me, or can you do it right here?"

"There is something you possess that I do not. I was never much of a builder. I was never any good with technology of any kind. Have you seen Piltover? Im sure one of the villages would love to have you! He smiled invitingly at the woman as she approached, gesturing to the seats, whichever she wished to take would be fine. Once seated, he would hand her a bowl and spoon, before taking his own and setting aside the tray. "These mountains are my home. Mother raised me out here, and... nowhere else feels quite the same." He took up a spoonful of his own meal, letting it cool for a moment and adding as he waited, "Besides... who would rescue travelers like yourself if Braum decided to join the big city, hm?" Again he laughed, before bringing the spoon into his mouth. His moustache wiggled slightly in appreciation as he savored the taste. "I often leave the mountain, actually. Adventure is in my blood, and I need to explore more than these slopes sometimes. I assume you know this feeling, too."

And yes. Men who good are quite high on the scale. So, you learned so you could make women love you? *She would giggle* He laughed warmly in response, but shook his head. "Mother might like that idea, but no. Living this far out of the way, I need to be able to keep myself well-fed... and busy. Boredom is the worst enemy of man." He began to ladle out two bowls, filling them with the creamy, steamy stew he had prepared. Potatoes were clearly the main ingredient, serving both to thicken the dish and make it much more filling. Mixed in were a variety of vegetables and spices, primarily mushrooms. Notably, there was no meat in this dish. Still, it certainly seemed like a full meal in itself. "If women love Braum for this skill... I suppose I would not complain, though." His voice sounded slightly teasing, or perhaps playful, as he set their bowls on a wooden tray along with a spoon for each bowl, and carried it over to the fire. "Now, meal time. Would you like to join me by the fire?"

What are you doing? *She would reach back up again to move her long brown hair from out of her face. Small highlights of gold, almost unnoticeable, from it would give a small shine as she moved it and brushed through it a bit* He did not look up when she spoke; perhaps he was focused on making sure the stew was just right. He did respond, however, his voice more than enough to fill the room regardless of facing her. "Making stew," he answered, chuckling quietly. "You sleep well, yes? Now you will eat well. The Freljord is no place for weary bodies. This should recover your strength... and taste good, while it does." He lifted one massive hand to waft the scent into his nostrils, his smile growing. "Mother made sure I knew how to cook. She said women love men that can cook, heh." He lifted the pot by its handle, then, carrying it over to the small counter a few steps away. He set it down, before finding two bowls for them to use.

Everything was just lulling her to sleep. She could feel herself slipping away. She would shimmy a little and bury herself more into her coat, and his chest for warmth. Each word drove her further in. Home. Safe. Rest. She would give a sigh as her body relaxed and prepared to sleep. Before she completely lost consciousness, she spoke very softly* Thank you *Her body then became lax, and she went silent. After a while though she would start giving out small and gentle snores* By the time the woman woke up, she would be inside the cabin. The air was warm, and a fire was crackling softly across the room, casting a warm yellow glow over her face as it flickered and danced about every surface it could find. The smell of food was in the air... something delightfully aromatic. If she looked to the fire, there was a pot positioned above the flame. It was here that Braum stood, slowly stirring a pot of what must have been some sort of soup, or stew. He had not seemed to notice her awakening, yet, instead focusing on the meal he looked to be preparing for the both of them.

She didn't want to be rude and suddenly fall asleep on him, so she tried to keep her eyes open and awake* He noticed how tired she was, and instead of pressing for further information or diving into a discussion, he merely told Lucille, "If you are too tired, to not let Braum keep you awake. I will put you in bed when we are home. Maybe make something to eat for when you wake up. You are safe, now. Rest." I'd miss my parents. *She would start relaxing, enjoying the large, and surprising amount of heat he gave off. And the softness and warmth of her coat, and her being carried. Made her somewhat sleepy. Cold wind occasionally stinging her face or no.* It was not long before the pair had left the canyon altogether, and Braum pointed a thick finger from where he held her. He was pointing her in the direction of a singular cabin, a contrasting brown on the otherwise white, blue, and gray landscape. They were only minutes away, if one were to judge the distance by the naked eye. There was a small yard, fenced off with simple planks, and a large stack of firewood inside of that yard. A faint trail of smoke lazily drifted into the sky above, perhaps the last remnants of a fire enjoyed earlier that day. "What brought you this far north?" Braum asked the woman that he continued to carry, his kind gaze returning to her. "Even for adventurers, the icy Freljord is usually too much to consider, especially up here in the mountains."

Braum would be interested in participating in this story, if you're still looking for more. I've been poking around for something to help kickstart things for myself here. This seems like a good way to do it.
