: Chat policies and Riot sexual harassment are two different issues. If you are truly upset about their sexual harassment, boycott the game. And going "they don't let me flame, darn communist China" is neither logical or effective. I'm doubtful China doesn't let you make fun of each other on Facebook. That is more about keeping political dissidents down. Neither are related to chat restrictions. Both are good reasons to boycott the game, sure.
When did I say communist anything? This has nothing to do with China being good or bad ... Hell I played on the Garena server when I lived in Vietnam. China can decide what culture they have, I am just stating that censorship is not common place in American culture, and it should not be applied on the NA server just because this game is a Chinese owned game. I have yet to ever play a game that censors its players like this 1 does. I find it hard to believe that these policies are not related to the host countries culture.

This is precisely the point I am making ... I followed the rules. I did not break the EULA; therefore, my post should not have been removed. If there was a EULA term that said "Cannot say anything that a moderator might not like" - I'd agree!

I never even mentioned slurs. Nonetheless, hate speech is free speech. You can find more on this by search the ACLU.

Where was the politics involved? Free speech is not a political ideology... Quite confused regarding this. Where was the "politics" - It seems you are extrapolating "politically charged" way past the scope. With your extrapolation ... what isn't "politically charged"? My post in no way had to do with Politics. Please enlighten me Ulanopo. Regarding: > in Gameplay, no less. It would make sense to put it in game play as this is where the action takes place. The speech in question happens while playing the game. It does not happen on the corner or at the bus stop ... it happens in Gameplay. Where would you rather have had this?

First time I have logged on since this comment ... Most jobs that pay anything over 65k+ a year expect a 10 hour day. Working 8 hours a day will get you nothing but demoted back to a 35k - 40k salary. At least in the industry that my unlucky ass picked in college. Maybe the reason the community is like this ... is that Riot does not listen to the community? There is no clause stating you cannot discriminate by SEX. Gender and SEX are very different things. GENDER is a feeling, qualitative identity. SEX, on the other hand, is a biological trait. : That could be a good addition. I think the general number of games (according to what i saw from a riot support person) is about 30-50 games. So potentially this could be a week or a month of games. I have mixed feelings about that however. Because that still leaves the last monthish of the season for being.... as others have said.... "cheated" out of ranked rewards. Especially since near the end of the season it gets highly stressful due to the last push.... and trolls take advantage of the high tension. Maybe for the last month of the ranked season you can still get rewards if you are honor 5 when you get chat restricted and still get the rewards even if still locked? Rewards those that have the best behavior if they slip with a month to not have to worry AS MUCH about if they slip. Especially seeing as near the end of season is also around holiday season which is even more stressful for people.
Realistically Riot should be looking at end of season on a case by case. If a person just had a random bad day because they were trying to push to the next rank and getting trolled ... but all season they were good. Riot should give the benefit to the player. This would be incredibly easy to code into their system also... you can roughly get a chat ban every 3 months of play and never move to a 14 day ban. if a player has had 0 chat bans ... then the first chat ban they get in the season will not affect rewards. Everyone has a bad day. And we need to be human and realize that sometimes people lose their cool ... especially in a tower defense game. If Riot wants to cut toxicity out of League ... there is only 1 solution. Close down League. Any time a player other than yourself can impact your gameplay ... there will be toxicity.
: yup, you have to be toxic game after game. you don't get to randomly decide that "2 days isn't enough to be consistent". there's an algorithm which determines whether it's consistent, not you. the fact that someone gets a chat restriction is proof that they're consistently negative.
Let's break this down logically. Literally, using logical statements ;) > you don't get to randomly decide that "2 days isn't enough to be consistent". I actually didn't make that decision, the definition of consistent did. Just like I don't get to make the decision of what consistency is, nor does Riot. If anyone can make a definition into what they want ... Our language and communication wouldn't be .... what is that word again? Consistent. > there's an algorithm which determines whether it's consistent, not you. the fact that someone gets a chat restriction is proof that they're consistently negative. This statement here is completely flawed. And I want to show you how incredibly flawed it is. Sub RacialCheck () Dim total_rows As Long Dim current_row As Long Dim current_column As Long Dim total_columns As Long total_rows = Worksheets("Chat Log Data").UsedRange.Rows.Count Dim WS As Worksheet For current_row = 1 To (total_rows) language = Worksheets("Chat Instance").Cells(current_row, 15).Value If language = "arbitrary racial slur" Then result = "Acceptable Content - Not Considered Racism" ElseIf score = "GG, WP Everyone" Then result = "Racist Comment - Ban Approved" Else GoTo SkipRacismCheck End If Worksheets("Chat Log Output").Cells(current_row, 22).Value = result Reset score = vbNullString result = 0 SkipRacismCheck: Next current_row End Sub This is a short Visual Basic Code. It is checking for racist commentary in a chat log. It defines racism as saying "GG, WP Everyone" and defines acceptable non-racist commentary as items such as racial slurs and so on. This is an important illustration because it points out the flaw in your statement: > there's an algorithm which determines whether it's consistent, not you. the fact that someone gets a chat restriction is proof that they're consistently negative. My VBA coding defines GG, WP Everyone as Racist ... and arbitrary racial slurs as not racist .... Does my algorithm prove that the racial slurs are not racism? Anything can be coded into a logical statement ... even if that statement is not logical.
: it is, though. if you look at the reality of it, it's a change in behavior for the worse which needs to be corrected.
how is that consistent? consistency has a definition ... we don't get to make up what a word means. "acting or done in the same way over time, especially so as to be fair or accurate." when looking over time, as stated above, 2 days does not define as consistent. "acting in the same way over time" Companies trying to regulate individual behavior is quite in line with fascism. The main principle behind this ideology is to disregard individual rights for the greater good of the community. I guess the more important question for everyone is .... Who do you think is going to "regulate" how others talk to you in real life? Your boss will not care .... Literally, no one is going to regulate how others treat you once you get out of school. There are no safe spaces in the adult world. So I would recommend starting to thicken up that skin now rather than later.
: ARAM isn't really that fun in my opinion. The random element is so low that it's basically .75x Blind Pick, what with the ARAM accounts, re-rolls, and switching out re-rolls. You see the exact same Champions almost every single game, like {{champion:63}} {{champion:36}} {{champion:99}} {{champion:37}} {{champion:45}} {{champion:161}} {{champion:101}} {{champion:115}} {{champion:30}}. In addition, if feels like half of the players in the match are on their hardcore main. The median proficiency is absolutely ludicrous. Not a good environment to get stuck playing a Champion you've only played a handful of times, but that really is what ARAM should be epitomizing - getting out of your comfort zone. That ends badly when everyone can just hedge a bet against a random roll by utilizing the mechanics offered. Not disparaging the people who do, it just creates an environment that is, at best, _slightly_-less-than-Blind-Pick. We need an unlocked roster.
I get champs that I do not own all the time in ARAM. Even when those champs are not on the free to play rotation....
: on the contrary, getting a chat restriction is a result of consistently poor behavior.
Not true really. a chat ban is the result of a number of consecutive games of bad behavior. You could have months of good behavior ... then have 1 or 2 nights of bad behavior and get a chat restriction. when you look at the totality of it ... months of good behavior = 60 to 90 days .... 2 days of bad .... between 2 and 3% of all games were bad behavior ... that isnt really consistent bad behavior.

Witts End is a solid item on Yi if you are against a comp that has an AP mid / Jg / Supprt ( brand support )... In that case I would usually go blood razor ---> Witts End ---> Ninja Tabis ---> Rageblade ---> 2 tank items. Worked very well for me this season on Yi for ranked games. Think I had around a 55-65% win ratio season wide on Yi depending on which account you look at.

I think you have the right idea, but the answer is not an item. It is Riot taking a serious look at how the new Runes and Lethality have changed this game.
