: Champion Update and the Flawed Fencer
I wish what the community had to say about this wasn't two faced. Here's my take: It was a rework that fixed three serious problems on Fiora that nobody should deny: * It got rid of a~~very, very stupid~~ poorly designed ult that had no counterplay. Sure it gave the sensation of killing, but it was on the same level of Talon's silence. On click, unavoidable, and usually lethal. * The passive actually does something now. The passive before gave _health regen_ every time you hit someone. It was arguably the worst passive in League in both feeling and math. Now you heal, move faster, and deal damage. * Fiora before could only move forwards, not backwards. This means she has to win her lane and get ahead in order to mow her enemies down, or else she has no form of movement to retreat. Now, everything, including her passive, gives her some way to get away from enemies. If she gets countered in lane, its over. If Fiora, an actual fencer, heard people say they wanted her old ult, she would agree that the ability to go forth and slay any enemy with a click of button would not only be unfair, it would be _boring_. She wants a palpable challenge, and so should you when you play her. It feels like people are just picking things to complain about that's intangible and not related to her previous weaknesses, just the art or the good old days of pressing r and killing everyone.

It's interesting how Poppy's face only uses 11 joints, but do other champions use a lot more?
: Champion update: Poppy, Keeper of the Hammer
Poppy was given several tools, a personality reflected through her abilities, and a significant impact that does not equate to being invulnerable to everything. I like this Poppy. She can still be useful to her team, even if she somehow does 0 damage in the end.

Do these modes give any special data that you guys might use later on?
: Dev Blog: Building a Better Bio
I'm very excited there's going to be lore fixes. Some champions have rather... aged explanations of how they came to be. Can you imagine {{champion:24}} actually having a fleshed out lore? That would be pretty cool! To everyone he's just a guy who has a lamp post and 6(?) eyes, but he can be so much more.
: The problem with always having one of these fun game modes to play is that they will have to have more work done balancing them. The other problem is that people will lose the attraction quickly and become "another ARAM" This could be solved by.... Customizing your own games! ARAM would be easy to set up on Summoners Rift if you could simply have the option to disable top and bot Lane minions. Maybe teams could be changed from 1 to 6 players for 1v1s or hexakill on any map. Character selection could be set to blind, draft or free pick or something. You could disable characters, items, or whatever you wanted when you set it up. Unfortunately, Riot has stated that it won't feature this kind of customization. This is a bad decision. All of Riot's competitors have options similar to this. Gamers, especially PC gamers, looooove to customize options and settings (hint, more key mapping options). As my game design teacher says (when talking about our one-week mini flash games): "That's a boolean! Barely a line of code!" And it can broaden the range of your player base massively.
I would like to see that statement, it would greatly support your argument.
: What the hell is the lore team getting paid for?
I won't say the lore team is being paid for nothing, but there's a problem they're trying to deal with in their own way. It's not bad how it's being done, but it's methodical at least. I don't blame them for the method, because it makes some pretty fantastic events. ______ For a refresher, Riot Games used to have a lore related to summoners, but because of how it limited the potential of artistic expression Riot removed the whole summoners concept, and now is in the middle of picking up the pieces. The Lore team needs to create a substantial lore that doesn't rely on the back of an omnipotent source. Doing so originally was the easy way, as well as a simple way of introducing ~~cliche~~ characters through this method. Now that they can't, a lot of characters that came alive through this method are now in origin limbo. The lore team's job is to take them out of limbo, put them in the lore, and have them serve a purpose in the lore. What the lore has to provide now is the power to individual characters or an origin. That's not being done right now because that's a lot of 'lategame' lore power that could interfere with other 'lategame' lore that is going to be made later for other champions. ______ What they are doing is this: The lore is currently presented for some champions as _in media res_, where _you_ are placed in the middle of something (with no memory or explanation of what happened previously). You see the who, what and how they act, but not the why they exist or when they came there. The Lore team is going to give lore explaining why and when in piecemeal, so that they are able to weave different lores between different characters and get something tangible. You can expect events of multiple characters (like {{champion:4}} {{champion:21}} {{champion:104}} {{champion:41}}) which either define the new lore or refine the previous lore ({{champion:268}} {{champion:69}} {{champion:15}}). Champions that are being introduced will eventually be weaved together one way or another, but to prevent 'lategame' blockages they are going to do this slowly. Some champions are going to have more individual power, like {{champion:203}} or {{champion:432}}, of which their power and origin is justified by being one of the huge, defining forces of Runeterra. If a cog machine was Runeterra, they are the big cogs that connect the little cogs together. This also doesn't make cliche characters, because they're important for the culture of Runeterra. TL;DR They'll make the lore more interesting when multiple champions are interacting with each other, which make cool events. The lore team is giving this lore in piecemeal through the events. They're also giving more champions inherent power so that they can stand independent, rather than dependent on other ~~legitbroken ~~systems like Summoners.

: Data and Champion Balance – Part 1
I think the reason people ban Darius is because no one likes to get ~~instagibbed ~~ killed by his passive because of _another player on their team_. You know how League is with teamwork. Also all these champions synergize stupidly with the new Top Lane items. Although other champions may synergize and snowball even faster with them like {{champion:5}} and {{champion:80}}, preventing their early game from falling off, the champions that are being banned have a monster late game that is unparalleled to any mage, marksman, or support. Junglers are the only one who can stop these monsters in their early game, but they themselves are among the banned like {{champion:72}} because of {{item:3933}}. Two simultaneous buffs on two roles for champions that snowball early game and/or become monsters late game makes an unbearable meta, hence, the bans.

: Champion Insights: Kindred, the Eternal Hunters
I think it's cool we're getting a lot of Spirit type champions. They don't need to match the calling to another faction like Demacia, and this itself is an underdeveloped side of the lore as a whole. The Spirit world is everything we don't know about, much like the Shadow Isles.

: Patch 5.18 notes
This is a good patch: It has a buff for the players (recalling on aram, {{champion:223}} ), small changes that are better than outright buffs/nerfs ({{champion:117}} ), gives quality of life changes ({{champion:34}} , {{champion:3}} , {{champion:134}} , {{item:3050}}, {{champion:29}} , {{champion:143}} ), giving slight buffs ({{champion:59}} , {{champion:25}} ), and keeping things real ({{champion:41}} , {{champion:72}} , {{champion:86}} , {{champion:201}} , {{item:3742}}).
: Community Patch Recap - 5.17
You know, after so many patches and overdone buffs and nerfs, you'd have to assume something is wrong at the core of League of Legend gaming. Something that makes having even one champion op ruin the rest of the game if played right, and one undertuned champion completely fall out of the attention of everyone. With champions that are being released that are harder and harder to intelligently and clearly counter (mobility creep, spam creep), nerfs and buffs are becoming harder and harder to justify simply because the buff/nerf meta is so volatile. At this point, it's not even worth ranting over a single buff or nerf on a specific champion, it's the picture as a whole that needs to be changed or reworked. What makes it so Riot is 50/50 when it comes to this stuff?

: Or maybe make her Q hit multiple targets in a small area that she lunged to in order to still do damage to the target you intended to lunge to since she IS the ultimate duelist with quick strikes. =D
Her E is probably the strangest out of all the changes. What I think they did was instead of giving her a MS, they gave her a slow. Instead of an AS steroid, she gets two fast hits. The reason why the first strike slows and the other crits is probably for design reasons, to make them different. If both hits crit, it make s the second hit purposeless in terms of being a crit as well.

Guys you really need to stop hating on a champion that has deserved a rework for so long. It's like complaining that Yorick is getting a rework. Don't you want him to be more versatile than just spam ghouls and a false revive?
: Champion Update: Fiora
Guys, they made Fiora awesome. There were many things wrong with the old Fiora, simply being old and all. Here's some useful things I'd like to point out with the new Fiora. P. A useful passive that is not arguably the worst in LoL. Would you really want that capped stacking 1 hp 5 over this? _Really?_ Also true damage which helps Fiora deal with tank top lane just stacking armor to get rid of her, as well as give her speed when trading/chasing. Q. Lunge is made smart. It interacts with on-hit and passive, and the cooldown is reduced when hits an enemy. I can't be sure from the ability preview that the ability can be used to escape, but that would be fantastic if you can. W. A Riposte that actually Ripostes damage from sources, not just autoattacks or a very limited selection of spells. _A bonus would be that Riposte counters **CC**, which is the bane of Fiora._ Tryndamere doesn't have his left arm on this. It slows and stuns, which gives her **CC**. Fiora is no longer a champion that doesn't have **CC**. E. Makes Fiora apply slows and crits. This is a lot better than the previous ability which required you to hit something constantly in order to actually benefit from it (attack speed and movement speed): The slow can be more powerful than a speed boost in situations; The crit, when trading. Again, this gives Fiora **CC**. R. This is a Grand Challenge: If Fiora kills her target (it's not going to be easily hitting every side unless the target is immobile), she gives everyone _a lot_ of health. This can turn teamfights on their heads. Not only that, it gives her movement speed, and the target she attacks gets _**%MAX HEALTH TRUE DAMAGE.**_ That's as powerful as an ability gets. It's not the same ability like before, but you can still towerdive someone, using the mobility given, and when you execute, get health back and get out of turret range healthy. + Fiora can benefit now builds that apply on-hit effects. + Fiora does true damage, both base and max, akin to Vayne. + Fiora has CC, counters CC and damage, and has movement speed. + Fiora heals from her ultimate, rather than her passive. + Fiora is a duelist, attacking on all sides, then retreating. {{champion:114}} I for one want this kind of Fiora, I don't know why people upvote old Fiora comments. This was a change I have been wanting for a very long time. I also don't care about looks, I care about what's inside, sheesh.
