: Why Are People In Ranked So Toxic?
Because people are there to win and many people, especially people who get most of their social interaction on video games from behind a computer screen, aren't good about holding their emotions in check and only being frustrated IRL instead of spewing verbal diarrhea in to /all. Combine the two and you've got a perfect storm of nonsense. In Normals, people are there to fuck around for the most part. You have the competitive progression system that people want to climb removed from the picture, and so people are much MUCH less likely to care if they win or lose as long as the match was at least fun to play.

: Chat restricted for two games. One of them is this :
Real talk buddy: if you're going to cry about "leftist ess jay dubyoos" for a chat restriction then you're in for a world of hurt. Toxic behavior isn't acceptable. If you aren't willing to treat a video game like a video game and are going to cry about your team mates to their faces (because I get it! getting paired with people who make basic mistakes constantly and give up and cost you the game sucks! But keep it to yourself) and then blame it all on "ess jay dubyoos" instead of your own bad behavior, you're not going to be playing this game for much longer. Take a breath, realize that /pol/ behavior is kept on an anonymous message board for a reason, and behave like a civilized human being or nobody is obligated to put up with you, and that includes a platform holder like Riot.

If it's a habit for that person, they'll get banned after progressing punishments just like every other offense. Why do you feel like you're entitled to break the rules and scream and insult people when they don't carry you to where you think you should be on the ladder? It's a computer game. You want to be frustrated? Do it behind the screen like the rest of us. The moment you start spewing nonsense in chat is the moment you become part of the problem.

: Ban for this?
No offense but I delight in the irony of you being here asking why this got a punishment while your chat logs are flooded with you telling everybody else they're going to get banned. In any case, yes you absolutely deserve the punishment for this. You spent the entire game telling people to shut up, calling them morons, telling people they have brain damage, calling people "degenerates", screaming about how they're all going to get banned and are all trolls, and then you continued in the post game lobby. Riot bans for negative behavior. In what universe do you live where all of that isn't negative?
: This still does everything but answer my question.
Because we don't have an answer for you. We aren't Riot, we don't know exactly how the system works. Sometimes IF gives you a notice, sometimes it doesn't. "Fa***t" is a word that will get you blasted by IF for homophobic slurs regardless of a report. Reporting somebody for saying that in chat pretty much guarantees they will receive a punishment. I recently reported somebody for being a raging homophobe, no IF notice, despite it being an established fact that the system will auto-flag you for using that sort of language in game. Similarly, I reported somebody for just being flamey all game without any sort of slurs or even swear words, and they DID get me a notice when IF slammed them. There's also been times when I've reported people for being raging homophobes and I DID get an IF notice about it. It happens when it wants to happens under certain circumstances only Riot knows. Getting pissy over not getting one every single time or trying to use it as a gauge of how many people you've gotten banned is stupid.
suhdooh (NA)
: leaving and inting
Because when you type in game you can directly and irrefutably break the rules. When you go 0/5 and leave, you could have bad internet issues, or you had an emergency, or maybe you're just in a bad mental state and realize trying to continue would just make things even worse for your team so you leave, or you might be malicious, and more possibilities, all of them equally valid and likely. As a result, the punishments for leaving a game are a loss even if your team wins the 4v5 which is absolutely possible to do if you play it right, and you get locked out of queues for a while. If it keeps happening, you get locked out longer and longer. And if it becomes a regular habit and you get reported repeatedly for it...then you get a punishment up to a permaban. It works just like any other punishment, it's just more difficult to determine context so there's a little more leniency.
: Hey what do you people think about this idea?
You're basically saying "I don't like the idea that I can't say and do whatever the hell I want in chat without risking a random person reporting me for it and getting punished, so I want regular reporting of toxic behavior to be punished so less people do it."

If he flamed then report him for flaming. Judging by the stats EVERYBODY died a lot and he didn't even have the worst kill participation in the game. His damage was on par with the enemy ADC and almost as much as a Lux. The stats are all over the place and remind me of the ends of a lot of SaltyTeemo games. Honestly it looks like you're just looking for somebody, ANYBODY to blame for the loss other than taking a breath, identifying what YOU could have done better and ignoring the rest of them, and then moving on to your next match hopefully a better player than before, and as a result you're targeting the weakest link on your team and are coming here to the forums seeking validation for doing so.
: Removing Twisted Treeline. Are you kidding me?
League of Legends shined when Summoner's Rift, Crystal Scar, and Twisted Treeline were all equally featured front and center when going to play a match, and then Riot went "hey people keep doing this custom ARAM mode, let's make Howling Abyss and have MORE OPTIONS!!" Every since they set the precedent by killing Dominion and shifting to "rotating game modes" that they gave up on a few months in to in favor of drip feeding new stuff every several months to coincide with a bunch of new additions to the cash shop, it's been going this way. Riot is in the business of selling Skins and Esports promotions. Not managing a game.

Either riot has an unannounced password leak then, or you are mistaken and shared this password with another login that compromised you. A unique, complex password is impossible to "crack" without having access to riot's databases. Edit: Or you have some sort of monitoring malware (like a keylogger). Which, contrary to popular belief, does not take you visiting a fake link. Reputable websites can be hijacked and have code for malware injected into links (or drive by downloads) that you would never notice while clicking "order" from your favorite delivery place.

Reputable websites can be hijacked and have code for malware injected into links (or drive by downloads) that you would never notice while clicking "order" from your favorite delivery place. And SMS-based 2FA would completely eliminate the ability of somebody acquiring my password in that manner from being able to access my account unless they also had my Phone, would immediately tell me my password was compromised by sending be a 2FA token for a login attempt I did not authorize, and this entire issue would be mute. That is the entire purpose of 2FA: in the event that your password IS compromised, the person that compromised your account is still blocked from accessing anything and you are immediately notified of an unauthorized login attempt. I don't get why that's so difficult for some of you to understand.

: I got hacked and banned for scripting (@Riot).
Had the same issue the other day: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/QKUXOzTJ-account-banned-for-third-party-program-use-while-account-was-compromised Submit an account recovery ticket to riot explaining the situation and somebody will look over your login history and see that the games played by the hacker were not your typical login location and that you have a large number of games played without any sort of history of script usage and you'll be unbanned. I got a response in 4 hours after submitting a ticket and the ban was removed. I didn't get back the 300rp the bastard spent on boosters though.
: What an actual joke of a report system
In all honesty what do you expect to happen here? Do you think raging out at 3 of the other 4 members of your team is going to somehow make them play better? Do you think it's going to make YOU player better? Are you hoping if you do it in all chat the enemy team will pity you and surrender early? What do you hope to achieve with doing that? All you're doing is making yourself play worse and your team play worse because now YOU refuse to acknowledge when you make a mistake because you just blame it on your team and your team plays worse because now they have a toxic player running his mouth and annoying everybody. I can understand getting frustrated but when you act like this you're just making the game worse for everybody, including yourself. The ban was deserved, full stop.

: It actually is though. If you have a secure password, it will not be "cracked". Password "cracking" (either by brute force or other means) is simply impossible with today's computers (takes hundreds of years even using very powerful computers and multiple computers). The only way for someone to hack your account is to have two things - your login name (not your summoner name) and your password. The only way they can get these things from you is through negligence - either you are using the same login information on multiple online accounts, you're using an unsecure password, you fell victim to phishing, etc.

I've had my account since season 3 and still hasnt been compromised so im just wondering how people have that happen. My friend had their account hacked but only cuz he kept falling for "free skin" bullshits at the time I'm not savvy with all the methods of hacking in to accounts but from what I do understand as time goes on more and more efficient and complex methods are developed which make it easier and easier for people to break in to accounts, which is why account security went from "Keep your password safe!" to "Have multiple capitalizations and numbers and symbols in your passwords!" to "Buy this little keychain dongle to get a code you have to enter in order to log in to your account for extra security!" to "2FA is now standard practice by default offered by nearly every single account service in existence". I don't discuss my passwords anywhere, I don't click weird links to fall for scam bullshit, and yet my account got hit anyway, which really makes the whole "we can only protect you as much as you protect yourself" comment I got from Riot in the support email pretty insulting. I take every step short of 2FA to keep my account protected, and that's only because Riot doesn't offer a 2FA system, and I still got hit. Granted this is my first time in literal years of playing that I've gotten hit, but even once is too much. Riot NEEDS to offer 2FA, there is no excuse they can possibly come up with to justify not having that level of account protection this day and age.

You did the right thing man - all you can do now is wait. This is sadly a common issue, with people having their accounts stolen and then they get used for nefarious purposes. Rioter Comments
: Questions about my suspension.
#1) YES, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY OFF META CHAMPIONS. There is absolutely no excuse for you to receive a punishment for no reason other than picking an off-meta role/build. However, intentionally picking something against your team's wishes just to piss them off is griefing, and IS reportable. As it doesn't look like you did that, I see no reason why you should have gotten this punishment. #2) BRIEFLY TRY TO LOWER TENSIONS, AND IF IT DOESN'T WORK, MUTE AND MOVE ON. If somebody begins flaming at me for my pick choice, I briefly try to lower tensions by apologizing if my pick really bothered them that much or say something like "come on man, we got this, no reason to flame!". If that doesn't work, I just mute them. If the rest of the team isn't being toxic/negative, I'll let them know I'm muting the person for communication's sake so they don't think I'm just outright ignoring a team mate. If everybody is being toxic, I just mute and focus on my own gameplay. #3) SHORT ANSWER, NO, LONG ANSWER, MAYBE. Riot absolutely despises admitting to giving out unwarranted punishments and as support is always very busy dealing with thousands upon thousands of reports and requests every single day, support has a tendency to be robotic in their responses and stick exclusively to policy. If you open a support ticket and explain everything about the situation and specifically ask which part of the matches involved is what warranted the punishment and ask what you can change so it doesn't happen again, there is a chance that another manual review will show that you didn't actually deserve the punishment, and it will be overturned, but don't count on it, especially if it's already at a 2 week suspension. Honestly, at this point if you value your account, I'd send a support ticket to see if it can be overturned and if not, just don't do anything weird for a long while. Mute people without a word the second any hint of flaming or negative behavior shows up, and don't use chat except for very quick very specific calls or to say "gj" or something like that. I ate a permaban because riot actively looks for literally anything you do that they can possibly claim is in any way shape or form "negative" despite getting repeated honors and climbing the checkpoints fairly regularly. If you don't want this to happen to you, just play it as safe as you possibly can.
: Why do junglers do this?
Because that farm is the primary source of gold income for that role. Junglers need to be moving around the jungle warding, counter jungling, ganking, and providing lane pressure in order to actually perform the role they have selected. Aside from support, it is the lowest CS role in the game. When a jungler comes takes farm from your lane after a gank, that's lane taxing. They've missed out on CSing in their jungle because they were ganking for you. When a jungler is pushing your lane when you're not there, it's providing lane pressure you're physically incapable of providing. When you take farm from the jungler when you could just wait for the next minion wave, you're causing them to fall behind, and if it's early on and they have a jungle path they need to follow, that can completely mess up the momentum of your jungler. No, it's not reportable, but it's harming the effectiveness of one of your team mates. If the lane is completely pushed and you need a little bit more to finish an item, just ask your JG if you can take a nearby camp. Communication is key and most people I know that play jungle will be fine with it.

: Disappointment in Riot
I'd open up another support ticket and try to get somebody from Riot to actually review the game and chat logs. It sounds like whoever you got is one of the busy people who just takes Instant Feedback's word for everything and doesn't ever want to admit that a context-less robot that only goes off raw numbers can be wrong about something. However, I know that I feel bad and don't enjoy when somebody on the enemy team feeds, intentionally or otherwise. I mean yeah I like the easy win but I'm playing League to play League and get better at the game, not to get spoonfed wins. So if the enemy team took offense to your few soft ints, then I can understand this. But yeah, if what you're saying is absolutely true, then I would make more support tickets with riot until somebody listens to you, because this shouldn't be an issue. There's a difference between dying a lot and intentionally feeding to ruin the game for other people, and Riot needs to acknowledge that.
: Does AFKing/ leaving the game result in a punishment?
It's a different set of punishments from other offenses, namely you get a stacking cool down in between each match and you get put in low priority queue which means actual queue times are much higher, and you have a higher chance of getting paired with other people who leave frequently. Any match you leave will also be counted as a loss regardless of outcome.
: Reporting
I can imagine him getting riot singed as an honor reward with successful reports possibly counting towards that, but just mass reporting people won't get you anything.
: trolls
If they're intentionally picking something weird with the sole intent of losing and feeding with it as vengeance for their pick getting banned, that can be considered griefing and so just report them. However, if it's a normal and they're just picking something weird and off-meta for the fun of it, then who cares? If normals are deathly serious to you, then just dodge. Also, if you're just being a jerk and intentionally banning the person's pick because you either don't like that champion or you think they're going to suck at it, then I'd honestly consider THAT to be griefing. Either way, just deal with it, report at the end, or dodge if you absolutely must, and remember to know the difference between griefing and just trying a weird build for fun.
