: It's so sad that they only care about the modes that make money. Even if only 2% of players play Twisted Treeline, that still equates to thousands of players, now being f*cked over because Riot abandoned the game mode they enjoyed years ago and then act like it's our fault for not playing it. Remember how they removed funneling from Summoner's Rift after just a couple of patches because of how effective and anti fun it was? Well that's been going on for years in the Twisted Treeline and is arguably even more effective there. Don't even get me started on the confirmation that Nexus Blitz is only a rotating game mode that we may see twice a year if we're lucky. It was so refreshing to have a game mode that focused entirely on having a good time, was guarenteed to only last for around 20 minutes AND let you play as the champion you wanted. Even normal games of summoner's rift and even ARAM can be extremely tense, as much of the enjoyment of these game modes revolves around you winning. Nexus Blitz, on the other hand, managed to make sure you have a good time even when behind, because the emphasis was much more on all of the random elements (the events you played and the buffs you received) that made the game feel fun regardless of whether you were winning or losing. It's truly sad because Nexus Blitz never really stood a chance. As we learnt from Dominion, they only care about game modes that are profitable and they have no hesitation to ditch a game mode entirely because of a substantially smaller playerbase. If they'd learnt to monetise Nexus Blitz in a way that they were able to with TFT then I have no doubt the former would have become permanent as well. All they managed to come up with was the ridiculously overpriced passes that required you to play around 10 games of Nexus Blitz a day to be worthwhile. They then acted surprised when people got burnt out from the game mode towards the end of its cycle due to the sheer amount of games people had been forced to play of it.

: While I agree with your statement, and don't like RIOT's inconsistency I do think these are 2 different cases. TL;DR: both champions aren't very strong right now, but they aren't in very dire spot and buffing Jhin isn't as risky as buffing Viktor The thing about Jhin is that he is quite simply outclassed by other ADCs. He isn't as strong late as some hypercarries and even though he is strong in lane, he still lacks power to be considered a bully like Lucian or Cait. What RIOT is trying to do, is make some distinct difference between jhin and other carries, as such they improve his catching tool to be of better quality, so as to amplify a certain strength. If you look at Viktor, his problems are quite complicated. Since he has been changed to a control mage from a burst mage back in the day, he wasn't really a big deal if you disregard his sudden appearance in the top lane after klepto buffs. Viktor is outclassed by other control mages, since he isn't strong early but his scaling and range aren't great, champions like Azir or Corki with similar power curve, but overall bigger powerspike in mid to late game, and considerably more safety are just better picks for late game. For the early game there are plenty of picks better than him in the middle. Regarding Viktor in the top lane, he is outclassed by the likes of Neeko and Kennen, who are just perfect bullies with great opportunities for scaling. However, what I think is in RIOT's mind is the fact that he WAS a very big bully and powerful control mage. His kit is very problematic, because ramping up his damage might cause him to be too safe with the ammount of utility he has. Statistics don't show that but every once in a while there is a match with viktor who decides to go defensive route, and isn't behind. Due to his utility he can still be very potent threat that can't be killed by anything other than burst. What I think should be done is just focusing on one viktor, so either a good utility based bully on the top (and in that case you just increase his early game potential) or a powerful mid to late game control mage in the midlane (in which case RIOT should decrease his mobility and shield from his Q, while increasing his damage output and potentially range). Otherwise Viktor is in this awkward spot, where RIOT can't buff him in any way, because of fear on how it will impact the other role, potentially making him spike too high in said role

It only takes one player discovering some abuse of the system to turn a working design into a "bad" one, and players are constantly TRYING to break the game. Most of the support item design iterations have historically held up pretty well, until some Korean finds a loophole and it spreads like wildfire across the playerbase.

It's not like he'll never reach the enemy's frontline, and after a few swings at them he'll have his Q back to possibly dive. Plus his damage is decent against tanks, and all the while his ult is dealing AoE damage to their team. Who knows, Spear might be a nice buff to Voli.

We're at the point in this particular controversy where you'll need some evidence to claim otherwise.

Actually, Jax and other hybrid Champions have a history of exploiting otherwise balanced items, precisely because they can use such a wide range of items effectively. Properly balancing an item for the class of Champions **meant** to use it is already difficult. Yet items that are healthy for their target class can become unhealthy for other classes, like defensive items on ADCs. Riot accounts for this by binding Champions to certain stats, and thus certain items, reducing the number of moving parts to balance around. So when Champions like Jax don't have these restrictions, they cause problems. It's like trying to balance multiple Champions as one. Diversity is healthier and easier when Champions can choose **how** they perform their role, not what role they perform. Some Champions manage healthy role flexibility when Riot puts a lot of resources into balancing them, like assassin/tank Ekko at one point, but one build will still always be "the best." You want a Champion that can function equally as a tank, bruiser, AD carry, AP carry, or on-hit carry, which is just unbalanceable—unless only one or two of those builds are effective and the rest are novelty playstyles, like Jax. Sorry if you play for that kind of extreme diversity, but it's not realistic in a game of this scale. There have to be some restrictions. And that does not mean balancing is "badly done," FYI. That's just the reality of balance.

Those perks would help. I do coordinate with my ADC, but the problem is on my end, not theirs. Even if we try to coordinate an all-in at 6, it means I can't risk doing anything combat-related to lay the groundwork for it. If I happen to deal or take damage — which I should **want** to do — then the whole timing is blown. And then there's all the other situations. If the enemy manages to level up before us, I want the option to reactively use my passive to close the gap. If I've been poking like a good Zilean, then that 10s window is plenty of time for us to just die to an all-in. If my team wins a teamfight and somebody could level up, then I can't help siege a tower while I wait for my passive. Workarounds like you're suggesting would help, but the passive just has restrictions it doesn't need.

Blasphemy. Zilean is a beautiful Champion. In terms of gameplay, anyway. Though I do miss having some interaction between his W and R, and I would be fine with a new passive entirely. His visuals could use some love, though, no argument there. His ultimate is indistinguishable from an item anybody can buy.

I think Zilean's passive is great actually. - As support, you can guarantee a level lead for 2v2 all-in timings - If you save up your passive in lane phase, you can get the jungler an early ultimate, which is especially nice for them because their leveling is limited by camp spawns - When somebody snowballs, they level up slower and slower as the gap increases between them and enemy players, but Zilean's passive isn't affected by this. You can repeatedly level a snowballing ally and get them even farther ahead Also, the extra experience is just as important for Zilean himself. If he gets behind in level like other supports, his damage and utility fall off hard.

Late reply, but have you considered a form of Manaflow Band that doesn't restore mana, and just gives a free spellcast on a shorter cooldown? I feel like this would eliminate the passiveness and raw sustain of live Manaflow Band, and instead push users towards opportunistic trading with their more costly and impactful spells.

Let me get this straight. As of now, a support's choice is to rush sightstone, or their gold generation item, or their core support item first (Face of the Mountain, etc.), followed by whichever of the two you didn't build first. So, Riot's response is to combine the utility of the first two into one item that you always purchase first, before the support has the option to start building literally any item in the goddamn game instead of fulfilling their 2-3 item quota. And this reduces choice and flexibility? High Plat support main questioning a lot of these "support mains" and their outcries. The support role has long standing problems that will take drastic changes to fix. This gives Riot more options in the long run to add more support items, rework support gold income, or rework how supports interact with exisiting utility items (Randuin's Omen, Rylais, etc.). Don't be so short-sighted.

Add voice (depending on actor availability, no definite time frame, but usually within a week) 8. Finish story (a day or two) 9. Release Roughly in that order. Does that add up to 5-8 months? Especially for reworks, which already have an established role and lore identity.
You think they can make a functional kit in 1-2 days, just like that? And animate that kit in 1-2 days? And that all the sound design and voice recording takes just another 1-2 days? You are soooooo ignorant about these processes, it's actually crazy.
