: Wait? Anybody fell in love with this champion? Were they Quinn mains? Are they the same people who play Urgot? Are they those people who thought old poppy actually was cool?
They were players who believed it was far past-due for a utility, zone-oriented mage to be released. Players who enjoy high skillcap, high risk-high reward champions.

: I learned and got used to her old W, and I don't feel punished at all with the change. I'm not sure why you keep saying it was a punishment to Taliyah players, because you don't speak for everyone that plays her. How I used her W before was knowing full well where I intended to throw them before beginning the cast, and immediately choosing that direction. I can see it's just a difference in playstyle with her that causes the difference of opinion on the new cast style. Essentially the only change for me is having to hit the key one less time. The only thing I dislike about the change was getting rid of the casting circle. I don't understand why they did it if their intent was to make her easier to pick up, but it's really not that big of a deal. Just out of curiosity, do you smartcast her w?
No, I do not smartcast her W. I certainly wouldn't with the new vector casting.

: W-E-Q certainly wasn't possible before. E-W into Q was high burst, but W-E-Q is the same high burst (well, almost same since they nerfed E damage), but undodgeable if you land your W. All you had to do before was back off if she dropped an E, now there's very little warning she's about to chunk 3/4 of your health. I don't see how her new casting is clunky at all, I think you just need to practice vector casting more. If play a lot of Taliyah, knowing/learning her W range and hit box shouldn't be that difficult either. She can't knock people vertically into the air anymore, but I've never once wanted to do that in the many games I've played with her. I honestly didn't really see the point in it. Again, as a Taliyah main, I don't feel I was punished at all, and she really doesn't feel that different. You can still E-Q if you want to.
W-E-Q was not possible before. The combo was E-W-Q. Now you can use W-E-Q, but the vector casting does not feel right in her kit. I am a plat 2 Taliyah main with almost 100k points in her. I hate to have to defend myself, but the vector casting does not at all feel right in her kit. The vector casting is a punishment to Taliyah players that learned and got used to the old W whenever she was released. The target animation is gone, she walks toward the cursor instead of casting it at max range, and the vector casting takes way too long to use now. Having to take the time to line a shot up before the spell is cast takes too much time in comparison to the old W. The old W mentality was: "I want to place the W here. Okay, it's gonna hit, so I want to throw them HERE." Now the mentality is: "I want to place the W there, and I'm going to want it to throw them in THAT direction because that's where I'm going to put my E down." It takes much more thought and time to line up and use properly than the old W. Vector casting is not the answer.

: I've never understood the hate for vector casting, or the reason people always say not to smartcast it. After hearing they were going to change her W to vector casting, I bought viktor and played him for a while to get used to it (my goodness is he strong). Her W seems a lot more fluid than it was before and I have no complaints about the change in cast type. the only thing I don't like is that they removed the targeting circle so you could see the area it would hit, but just playing the champ a few times should be enough for you to learn where it hits. So basically no, as a Taliyah main, I don't feel I was severely punished this patch. If anything, my burst just went through the roof now that I can chain an undodgeable E-Q directly after a W.
The thing is, this was totally possible BEFORE as well. E-W into Q was an incredibly high burst combo, and now her kit feels entirely too clunky. The W no longer only has no targetting animation, it also forces Taliyah to run toward the cursor if she casts the W outside of the casting range. Not to mention Taliyah no longer has a way to simply knock an enemy vertically into the air, which has always been an option of hers. Taliyah mains are punished because they have put the time and effort into learning how she worked previously, and now Riot has totally changed her feel.

Sona win rate too high. Better change her heal to a vector cast skill shot.

: the funny thing is there were plenty of posts about making it vector like victor's E and rumble's ult. now people want it changed back? kek. Taliyah is plenty strong as it is. Her Q on worked ground only costs 25 mana and deals 140 + 40% ap. 25 mana is damn cheap on a 4 second cooldown getting all stones to launch and hit deals 420 + 120% AP... ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY PERCENT for 50 mana on a 5 second cooldown not only that but she remains mobile throughout the entire animation, not having to stop like most mages to do cast, giving her the ability to keep casting while chasing or even kiting away which has amazing synergy with {{item:3116}} since it slows, making landing all shots much easier. Not to mention the skillshot range is actually pretty long. her E is at its widest point pretty much the width of an entire lane, and on an 8 second base cooldown at lvl 5 that's pretty strong. and can deal 360 + 80% ap in magic damage if they're hit by the initial cast AND the anti-dash damage if they dash or are knocked into it again with her W. so including her W which does 140 + 40% ap, one skill rotation from her can do: 420 + 360 + 140 = 920 base damage 120 + 80 + 40= 240% ap damage lets say you're somewhere into the mid-late game and have around 4 finished items just from what sounds good, lets go with rylais, ludens that i've seen several people build early on her, a zhonyas, and sorc boots. thats 270 x 240% = 648 648 + 920 = 1568 damage not including defenses. that's a lot, and for that i'm damn glad she doesn't have an ult that does damage. and that's just with 270 ap, which is not that much. lets say she has around 500 ap now 500 x 240% = 1200 1200 + 920 = 2120 for a full combo. and if they're good enough they can get another Q rotation in there for another 420 + 120% ap damage in there if they're in an area that hasn't been worked from Q yet. she has mobility, zoning, damage, and roaming. her kit is really packed with a LOT of tools.
You have said absolutely nothing about the problem that is at hand. The problem that we have is the vector casting. You are correct in that there were many posts about it, but MANY players do not view the boards. The change came out and lots of Taliyah players didn't even know what to expect. The vector casting feels incredibly clunky now, and it does not even give a targetting animation anymore. Not to mention if you cast the spell out of range now, she will walk toward the cursor. Also, this change was supposed to be a buff for Taliyah. In fact, the change on the W was the main reason they nerfed the E's damage. Now she feels like an entirely different champion, and it is not fair to the players who put the time and effort to actually learn Taliyah with her difficult skill cap.

: Her win rate with experienced players was 58%. It needs to drop.
That's why she was nerfed. The W change is totally unjustified, and frankly, just outright stupid. Not to mention the reason they changed W was to try to make it BETTER, not worse. They didn't change W with intentions on her losing winrate. They NERFED her with intention to lower winrate.

: [Patch 6.14] Taliyah Change : : Official Seismic Shove (W) Change Request Petition
AGREE. I HATTEEEEEE the stupid vector casting. My main problem with it is that Taliyah now walks into the direction of the cursor if you use it outside of the casting range. Before this change, if your cursor would be outside of the casting range, she would still cast the spell at max range. Now she will literally try walking to the cursor, and it feels SO clunky.
Rioter Comments
: she still gets to choose the direction.....
Before the spell is cast, yes. My whole argument is that the "lockout" is part of the feel that she has, and it is a unique feature how she can decide the direction AFTER she casts the spell. With the vector casting, she can no longer do that. She must decide the direction before she casts the spell.

I'm sure my comment will go unnoticed and my opinion doesn't even matter since I'm just one of the millions of players of League.. But I am a Taliyah main. I love her. Loved her since release. She has gotten me from Gold V to Plat IV so far, and I'm climbing fast. I like how she is now. I've practiced her a lot and I'm good with her how she is, so why are you punishing people that have put in the work to learn her? This is disappointing, especially knowing that this "change" will require her damage output to be nerfed. This situation bothers me.
: here a simple solution stop queuing has support problem solve
Did you read what I said? I only play mid and support. Therefore when I put mid and my primary and support in my secondary I automatically get support because there are no support players.
: I made a post the other day, what they should do is have. 3rd "hidden" position for role picking and everyone has it as "fill." But the catch is it has diminishing returns of 3 games. So everyone share the load of supporting but game time ques would be much faster This way everyone could get a support, but only once every 3 games would you "fill"
Don't like this idea because people will be salty and troll, or get stuck in a position that they don't know how to play. If I had to "fill" as a jungler, I literally wouldn't know the first thing to do. Don't have runes masteries or knowledge for it at all.
