: Sylas' R is a point and click ability
It also counts as a projectile so {{champion:201}} {{champion:157}} can block it if he targets people behind the shield or wind wall, presumably. I know in the latter it blocks it completely mid-flight.

: evree opee chumpp iz certenlee tee, reeeeeeeeeeeee. Naw but for real? CertainlyT has the infamy but I think there are far worse designs that no one bothers to check who designed them. Kai'sa, Irelia, Camille, and Galio are recent examples of champions that have remained broken for a long time and are only started to be reigned in a little bit after ruining the game for months. Zoe was nuked like a month or two after release, Warwick was a great rework, Akali is frustrating but not strictly overpowered, etc.
I said nothing about the champion being overpowered. I said the kit is overloaded, which on paper, it is. If you want to talk about legitimately overpowered champions on release let's go back to around mid-2010 when Xin Zhao first dropped and people were getting pentakills left and right. Overloaded kits are not something that is necessarily a stranger to CertainlyT, either. What I will say is that people are going to be too quick to jump on the "SYLAS IS OPEE XDDD" train when {{champion:157}}'s Wind Wall blocks his ultimate completely since it counts as a projectile when he casts it.

It almost reminds me of Basko from Dawngate mixed with Rubick from Dota.
Dynikus (NA)
: Played Sylas on pbe. Riot, are you feeling okay?
Did you really expect a CertainlyT champion to not be loaded to the brim with stuff that would make him a balancing nightmare?
: Sylas, the Unshackled
I mean, his ultimate is basically Rubick's from Dota, but less utilitarian and more matchup-based. Everything else about him is somewhat interesting about him though, communist overtones aside.
: What were your favorite/least favorite events/features of Nexus Blitz?
I just hate the game mode in general. It's poorly conceptualized, too snowball prone, and the events don't really add anything of value to it. If you get Scuttle Races and the enemy team has **anything** that can remotely chain crowd control in order to disrupt the movement of the crab you're guaranteed to lose nearly 100% of the time.
: ADCs are only bad because everything fucking blows you up!
As fun, as it is to hate on CertainlyT's designs at the time because of the burst potential Akali, has, I'd rather the guy who designed this PoS: {{champion:555}} never be allowed to touch anything _ever_ again. In what world is giving a "Support" a Darius reset execute a reasonable design idea when he gets a free Warmog's worth of regen just for building AD and the stereotypical Assassin items.
Farkinob (NA)
: How do you decide which items in the shop to buy after backing? What is the correct buy order?
If you're doing well in lane ( 1300+ Gold ): {{item:1038}} and maybe a {{item:2003}}. If you're doing "Just Okay" ( 1000 - 1250 range ): {{item:1037}} {{item:1001}} {{item:2055}} {{item:2003}} If you're behind on gold ( Sub 1000 ): {{item:1036}} {{item:1036}} Generally, you want to get as much AD as possible at that time without sacrificing safety and your ability to farm. Do keep in mind that you're going to want to get Control Wards as well since it helps keep the map less dark. Depending on the ADC as well, you'll want to prioritize other stats like Lethality if playing {{champion:21}} {{champion:236}} {{champion:202}} since two of them heavily benefit from items like {{item:3147}} {{item:3142}} {{item:3071}}. Just don't, and I repeat, **don't** fall for the newb trap that is Ashe's passive. All it does is increase your autos based on a flat amount from your critical strike chance. You **do not** benefit from that stuff the same way {{champion:15}} {{champion:29}} {{champion:18}} {{champion:222}} do. If you're playing an on-hit ADC like {{champion:145}} {{champion:110}} {{champion:96}} {{champion:67}} getting {{item:1043}} first can be beneficial as well since you have mechanics in the kit that will help stack onto that damage. Just my opinion, mind.
: The problem is, if you're building *specifically* to counter tryndamere, your team is at a massive disadvantage.
{{item:3110}} and {{item:3075}} are generally good picks regardless because most ADCs and characters like Tryndamere only want to do one thing: Maybe use one or two abilities and then right click you to death. Granted, you never really want to ever buy {{item:3110}} and {{item:3075}} together because while it does offer a lump sum of 180 armor it's a self-defeating combo. I would almost argue that if people, and I realize that it's a perfectly reasonable retort to my "Right click" derision and bring up {{champion:236}} {{champion:21}} it'd be easier for Riot to just re-work how Thornmail works. Especially since for whatever reason, upon looking at its stats, it also has Cold Steel from its component Warden's Mail. Anyway, back on topic. If you wanted to defeat Tryndamere and most Enchanter+ADC combos just build something like: {{item:3075}} {{item:3143}} {{item:3047}} as your Anti-Physical core and then build situational items from there if a tank. The key to beating characters like Tryndamere is to not actually dedicate so many resources to them that you cannot handle them later on but to end the game before they can reach the point that they can 1v9 you without you CC'ing them so hard and profoundly that their client freezes until 2998.

{{item:3033}} {{item:3123}} {{item:3075}} {{item:3143}} {{item:3110}} for items. {{champion:17}} {{champion:85}} {{champion:54}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:24}} for champions I can think of. Generally, when fighting Tryndamere you don't want to sit there and face tank him since at 100 Fury he gets something like 35% chance to crit you. With Conqueror's early game that's almost a guaranteed kill if he _really has that thirst_. So your objective should almost always be forcing a decision from him as to whether or not he's going to commit and possibly die pre-6 when you're ahead, or use that Fury to heal. Be warned that even if he doesn't slow you with W he can still reduce your AD ( Which isn't that much of a detriment to AP champions top lane but you know, it is what it is ) making trades easier for him. He's a hard scaling champion but {{champion:11}} {{champion:24}} {{champion:10}} all out-scale him in the worst kind of ways.

Do you really expect Riot to do anything remotely profound to CertainlyT's baby? The last big nerf he got was back in somewhere like S5 - S6 so he had to build crit to get the bonus armor pen on critical strikes from his R. God forbid they remove that stupidly cost-efficient passive of doubling his crit chance baseline.

How about you try playing Nexus Blitz and see a Kassadin in the URF mode or On Fire. Or Karma, Sona, Lulu in URF. Or that Akali and Zed are nearly almost always banned because of how absurd they get when they manage to get on a roll, especially with Yi and Irelia. : What would you consider the 20 then? I have seen quite a diverse list of champs in my games. Yes, the core group of champions usually has comprises somewhere between 30-70%, but that is going to be the case in ALL game types. Look at URF (before it got the "AR"), there were no bans, there were about 10 champions that were exceptional compared to others. I think you are mistaking "playing for fun" with "not trying to win the game". There is nothing wrong with playing something off beat, out of the ordinary, but when you do that solely for the fact "hey, this is different", that is not fun for the rest of your team. If you are good at an atypical NB champion, go ahead and play it! If you are trying to play something that you have zero experience in, you just handicap your team. I don't know about you, but getting destroyed because that one teammate decided to try that champ for the first time is not fun at all.

No point in taking the boards seriously anymore. Cant believe how easy it is to lie in this place and get upvotes Darius is literally not even that tanky at a baseline. The only sustain or hardiness he has in his kit is a position-based heal off of his Q which caps at 36% of his missing health. Something that Zed can very easily exploit simply by using his R to close the distance and give Darius the hug his mother never did. {{champion:223}} can turn 90% of the damage he takes into an activatable shield at max rank. {{champion:86}} gets 60% damage reduction for .75 seconds and then 30% for the remainder of his activated W on top of a maximum of passive 40 armor and MR. How you could possibly think Darius is at all tanky outside of his normal core build of something along the lines of {{item:3071}} ( Or {{item:3078}} ) {{item:3047}} ( Or {{item:3111}} ) and whatever supplements it so he doesn't melt as fast in team fights when Garen and Tahm don't even need items to achieve those levels of tankiness? Just farm and levels.
: Irelia is not on your list? I wonder why? This thread is hot garbage. Akali is hot too, I like the rework.
Irelia's a turbo easy fix. Remove the healing on her Q and have the damage reduction on her W work similar to Garen's where it's stupidly high for .75 seconds but still blocks damage at a modest percentage for the remainder of the duration. Boom, now Irelia can express her skill against you without being completely obnoxious to lane against since she has nearly as much mobility as Yasuo in lane.

: Except that you realize afterwards that every designers are like CT Riotjag, Endlesspillow, Solcrushed, squad5 every single Rioter likes nowdays to create a "big plays" champion that happens to be so overloaded, the only reason CT gets so much shit is because unlike them he used to come on the boards/old forum to talk with people and therefore he became infamous
I almost thought {{champion:555}} was a CT champion due to how much he has in his kit.
: I think it is baiscally official that the Akali rework is an unfixable failure.
Literally, all they should do is make her targetable by towers and players in her shroud under the tower, in my opinion. CertainlyT being a cancerous designer who makes everything an overloaded mess that's impossible to balance ( With the exception of Zed and Thresh after _many many many nerfs and tweaks_ ) shouldn't even be a surprise at this point. Letting him work unsupervised and leashed has always caused trouble and will continue to cause trouble.

: Is it Riot's intention to keep or increase the high damage?
With the {{champion:516}} changes to his W, probably increase it. He deals 16% of your max health ( At rank 5 ) during the channel in magic damage and proccing brittle does _another_ 16% of your max health. There's several videos on the PBE of people just curbstomping bruisers top lane in the early stages of the game with it because of how high the base damage is.
LTK KoRo (EUW)
: Jhin was a missclick, i intended to put Jinx here. Will edit first post shortly And when it comes about Vayne and Kai'sa, there's no counterplay to their procs. Especially Vayne. Bonus points when she buys Rageblade, which is really common by now. As a enemy, you can't do anything against silver bolts. You just have to pray that you won't be autoattacked by Vayne. Fiora have similar mechanics as Vayne have, but Fiora actually have to move around target, which is a pretty big handicap. Vayne doesn't have any similar handicap. And being in 550 or whatever range she have is NOT a handicap. ADCs need to be reworked to rely less on autoattacks, and it doesn't mean that only crit should be reworked. On-hit ADCs are as cancerous and uncounterable as crit ADCs when strong.
Vayne is literally locked completely out of {{item:3085}} due to the way her Silver Bolts mechanic works. If you want to talk about on-hit builds being strong do remember that in order to spread the procs of {{item:3124}} {{item:3091}} {{item:3153}} or even {{item:3115}} in some cases that item is essential. Hard carries being reliant on auto attacks has been a thing since WC3 Dota so don't expect that to change.

For example: {{champion:202}} has his entire kit based on the number **Four.** It takes four shots to complete his auto attack cycle and get that big burst of damage at the end that increases based on the missing health of the target. His W and E reveal and mark targets for four seconds. His Q bounces four times at the max. His R has four rounds in it, with the fourth doing the most damage. If you hadn't noticed, Jhin _loves_ the number four. Counting to four is one of the biggest parts of his kit, since his Q gets stronger the more enemies it kills, with the highest optimum damage being on the fourth bounce with the grenade. He's not going to play the same as {{champion:22}} {{champion:18}}. Same thing goes for {{champion:67}} {{champion:145}}. Their damage primarily comes from the procs on Caustic Wounds and Silver Bolts, so they both have lower attack range than most ADCs. They make up for this shortcoming with having to make cognitive decisions of either committing to a fight/kill using Kai'Sa's R or Vayne's E to stun the target. But they _absolutely have to get their procs off_ to not fall behind in damage.
: Is Nexus Blitz Balanced?
The RNG of the rewards from the events just makes it stupidly snowball prone. You got a catapult cannon to shoot across the map. You got Mega Ocean and Mega Wind Drake. You got B.F. Shields and Guardian Angels. About the most balanced reward for winning an event is the battle sled and only because you actually have to pilot the darned thing.
: Who do y'all think is the most unique champion in the game?
{{champion:427}} {{champion:516}} {{champion:240}}{{champion:163}} are the four that come to mind. They're unique in how they interact with the game and have interesting mechanics without people wishing cancer on their designer.

: Is there anyone remember how he ruined WoW for a long time? I don't want the same for League too...
That was Ghostcrawler. CertainlyT just designs the most obnoxious champions in the game with few shortcomings. His reputation as a cancerous designer is well earned.
: Don't make the new IE give 50% crit chance without at least a Yasuo gameplay update
Unfortunately, they probably won't ever change Yasuo because he's CertainlyT's baby. Even with how stupidly gold efficient his crit chance passive is. The 5k IE won't really help him either, and the changes to PD will probably hurt him more than help. _Thankfully._ Currently: {{item:3046}} - Rushes this nearly 100% of the time; Gives him the following: 45% Attack Speed ( Needs 110% bonus to hit the 1.33 second cap ), +60% Critical Strike Chance ( After his passive takes effect ), +5% static movement speed, +7% speed and ghosting towards enemies, +12% damage reduction on hit to enemy champions. Proposed (Not Concrete ): {{item:3046}} - Gains +20 attack damage and Lifeline from Hexdrinker; -15% attack speed, - Ghosting and the +7% move speed towards enemy champions, - the 12% damage reduction on hit. So while it makes him a bit more survivable in the lane phase against mages, he loses about 13% of the attack speed needed to reach his Q's cooldown cap. Currently: {{item:3031}} - Built after PD; Just a straight up damage item that increases his crit chance further; Built so he can benefit from the 10% true damage conversion on his crits. Proposed ( Not Concrete ): {{item:3031}} - Gains +10 attack damage, Gains +30% attack speed, Gains +5% move speed. Still doubles critical strike. Buffs crit strikes by a "fair and balanced amount". As much as I honestly hate Yasuo the problem isn't even with the items, it's with his design all-around. He'll be spending more gold to get two items if they implement the proposed changes and it'll take him 5000 gold to get to 100% crit chance thanks to his three-part passive for _one item_. So that's a lot of gold to commit.

: I think his Warwick rework was really good, maybe he should try focusing on GU's instead of VGU's, where he only changes certain aspects rather than a brand new champion or complete rework. Some champions could use a little spice, rather than every single thing about the champion having some spice, and some true damage, and a gap closer, and a new mechanic. Smaller scale changes you see, like put him on Volibear, he could use some degree of mechanics but still be simple.
Warwick was the only champion he's worked on that wasn't overloaded and stupid from the get-go. It's no mystery as to why he hates it. The problem with CertainlyT's designs is while he does make the champion fun for the player, he makes it frustrating for the opponent. He also has this obnoxious habit of giving out free shit to his champions just for existing. {{champion:412}} - Gets bonus armor and AP based on souls collected {{champion:142}} - Can steal Summoner spells, gets move speed when using them {{champion:157}} - Gets a free Infinity Edge's worth of crit chance without the attack damage; Gets a free shield just for moving {{champion:122}} - Gets 300 AD at Level 18 with 5 stacks of his passive, gets 35% armor penetration on his E {{champion:238}} - Used to get free AD on his W for no reason outside of "just because" {{champion:84}} - Gets healing on her Q at high energy for no real reason, gets true stealth ala Shaco in an AoE You want to know what Warwick gets? {{champion:19}} - Bonus magic damage on hit that heals him when he drops to below 50% health, +110% attack speed and +50% move speed when the enemy is < 50% health, an activated 55% damage reduction that leads to an AoE fear. The only way for him **not** to be one of the most, if not the most cancerous designer in League of Legends is to keep him on a tight leash. Which I doubt Riot has the stones do to because League is quickly turning even more of a game where people want flashy plays over substance.
