: Good people apologize for their mistakes and try to fix them. Shitty people never admit to screwing up and try to shift the blame on others. ^ For example: "People wanted to play with their friends. So we made dynamic Q. It's your fault."
I agree with the sentiment of what your saying, but I don't think it applies. RIOT has admitted to just about every mistake possible concerning Dynamic Queue, they owned up to their mistakes it and are actively trying to fix it - and they've said this many many many times. However, what they haven't done is given the the vocal community the specific resolution they are asking for, "bring back soloque". So many people just want RIOT so say, "ok, you were right, heres soloque back". But RIOT truely believes there is a version of Dynamic Queue out there that works for everyone and they are committed to finding it. What sucks is that we're stuck with the broken until they do. So it's on them to hurry their shit up before they lose too many.
: >RIOT Cactopus gave some really straight forward candid responses in the RIOTPLS post. You may not agree, but I think we can all appreciate a Rioter addressing the situation head on instead of dancing around it. Uh huh. Just like they "addressed the situation head on" with the PROMISED return of soloQ? There is a thing called TRUST, in a developer customer relationship. Trust has to be earned.
I agree, They should have never promised the return of SoloQue, and they really fucked that up. But after so long of shit communication, and unfulfilled promises, my point was it's at least encouraging to hear a RIOTER talk about the DynamicQue problem in such a candid way. Does it fix the problems? Nope. Does it restore at least a little trust in them ? For me, Definiteily. I'm not going to hold "BUT YOU PROMISED" over their head anymore, they owned up to it and apologized. As far as I'm concerned, we should let that go... And since they are 100% committed to Dynamic Queue, we need to re-direct the conversation to coming up with ways to make Dynamic Queue work for everyone. I.e. Stop focusing on the past and focus on making the future better you know?
: A: they do have an advantage B: premades negate communication vs everyone not in their premade. C: normals exists for friend play for a reason. D: a mode that can never have a level playing field will never be competitive.
Obviously you hear what he said. He never said they didn't have an advantage, in-fact he specifically said they did (even if slight), and he agreed that is because they have better communication. So instead of getting rid of pre-mades, they are improving communication.

: We still want solo queue
RIOT Cactopus gave some really straight forward candid responses in the RIOTPLS post. You may not agree, but I think we can all appreciate a Rioter addressing the situation head on instead of dancing around it. > The primary reason people are complaining is because they think premades have an unfair advantage if they're on voice chat. And they probably do, although the advantage is slight. IMHO the solution isn't to keep people from playing with their friends (aka trading Dynamic Queue for Solo Queue). It's to give solo players more communication tools so the advantage premades might have is minimized or eliminated. That means we're sure as shit gonna have to make ship some new features > No disrespect SnugglePuggle94, but like we're pretty much moving past the "most people don't like it" argument at this point. It's just not true—it's a small but vocal (and very passionate) minority that's super upset about dynamic queue. Lots of people always wanted the ability to play ranked with more than one friend, and lots of people are fine with DQ now. The upset vocal minority has some very legitimate complaints about dynamic queue, so we're gonna bust our asses to try to address those criticisms and make ranked better for everyone. That means new features, more communication tools, better matchmaking tuning, and on. That's where we're going now. Again, this isn't to say that we're ignoring the criticisms of dynamic queue. We hear you. And we're gonna get creative to make things better for all players. Hold my hand SnugglePuggle94. Together we're gonna go on a magical journey

: My cute drawings ^-^
These are great OP! I'm pretty jealous of your creative use of color, as I tend to stay black and white :/ Some constructive criticism: I'm guessing you struggle with noses? I couldn't help but notice you either left them very vague (anime style), or struggled with the shape/tone if you tried to put more detail into it. Unless your going for a very harsh light source, The only dark spots in the nose are the nostrils, shadow from creases where nostrils flares connect to cheeks, and a small shadow cast at the very bottom from an overhead lightsource. Everything else needs to be significantly lighter in order to offer contrast. When i'm drawing noses I typically start very light with the general shape/outline i'm going for, darken up the harsh spots, and then just transition them out to normal skin tone. On the other hand, The Annie with a poro one was actually pretty damn good in terms of noses. Here is an example of a drawing I did for my girlfriend last year. : This patch feels like another giant middle finger to Dominion players, let's recount them all
I agree on plenty of points but i'm not sure your post does a good job reflecting RIOTs position on this. They pretty much said that dominion was kicked cause not nearly enough people play it to warrant the massive investment to keep it maintained and balanced. (Aram doesn't require as much balancing as Dominion would to keep it up to date) However, ARAM is another story. There is a A LOT more people that play ARAM then there were Dominion. It's much more worth their time to keep it an active mode. However even then, RIOT has said because of the random nature of this mode they they aren't actively balancing it, nor will they in the future. They said in the patch notes and the audio run down that since they hadn't touched the mode in years, they just saw a few opportunities for "quality of life" updates rather than full balancing or maintenance.

That would mean you have someone on your team who, if they were on a team with silvers, could carry them against a team of high golds 35% of the time.
Essentially this. The actual MMR number is not a direct reflection of rank/division. But rather a number that is supposed to be as close as possible to where the system "thinks" you should be. Let's say player A was in master tier, but has been on a big losing streak and their MMR and winrate are declining - they get demoted to Diamond 1. They may have a poor winrate, and the MMR of a mid level diamond player, so the system "thinks" they need to be lower than they are. Player B is right where he should be, mid Diamond, 50% winrate. Very close to his official skill level. Player C is on the climb, his MMR is inflated because of his high winrate, so the system is pairing him with higher skilled players to try to create even matches. So essentially, the system "thinks" all of these players are equal, despite having a 5 division deficit. Player A has 35% win rate and 2000 MMR - Diamond 1 (on the decline) Player B has 50% win rate and 2000 MMR - Diamond 3 (where they should be) Player C has 65% win rate and 2000 MMR - Diamond 5 (on the incline)

: MMR isn't even related to win rate?????? herpy derp????? You can have different win rates but the same MMR. We are just talking about the win rate, nothing to do with MMR. There's an obvious empirical evidence supported by a community of people that win rate is taken into the matchmaking formula, or at least as a result of something else.
> There's an obvious empirical evidence supported by a community of people that win rate is taken into the matchmaking formula, **or at least as a result of something else.** That something else would be MMR. MMR is directly effected by winrate and matchmaking takes your MMR and matches you with "similar MMR" teammates within a certain rank threshold (+/- X number of divisions etc..) One exception to this is with premades. RIOT stated in the round table that if matchmaking can't find a premade of equivalent MMR/skill, it will match that premade with solos/duos of a higher MMR/rank to compensate the advantage of being a premade. That of course is an entirely different subject, but I'm almost certain actual winrate is NOT a part of matchmaking (other than how it effects MMR).

I play off meta builds and champs all the time in norms, and only if i'm really successful with it do I carry it into ranked.
: Is there a problem champion Grading system? Rioter's appreciated
It sucks that RIOT has not been more clear as to the requirements to get the ratings you want. To my understanding, the rating is NOT a simple equation that says, "this KDA / participation / cs etc... = this rating". It is much less about the raw numbers you achieved and more closely tied to how those numbers compare to other players, on that champ, in that role. So if your playing SION top and got 10/0/20 with 162cs and 79% kill participation and only get an S-, that means there are enough players also playing SION top at your skill level performing better than that (overall) to qualify for an S or S+. However, I have noticed that mostly good kill participation and, more importantly, objective participation go a VERY long way into getting better scores. There have been plenty of times where I kill farmed for like 15/3/20 and only got an A+ or S-, but other times where I've like 5/2/12 but killed 4 turrets and was present for drag and baron kills, most team fights, and got an S or S+. So I'd say the system is designed to score you for teamwork and objective control more than anything, and the actual rating you receive is based on how good that score compares to your peers (same champ, same role, same skill level.

Are you more mad at people who engage in this type of deception or those who are easily deceived? You make a strong point. I think my problem lies more with the media than the people. I mean, yes, the people should be more educated and less gullible to believe a lot of these things, but most of the time it comes from the places they are supposed to be able to trust. Many news outlets and media sources are less about delivering news, and much more about attracting readers/viewers. So they will twist the truth to deliver a headline that will attract people, but it severely undermines the contextual and factual truth about what was said or happened and so the people are led to believe a lie. When enough places jump on board with the same headline, people start to believe it as truth.

I mean, if I have a choice, for example, to engage or not to engage, then I do and I die, I know I've just f***ed up, thank you, Captain Obvious! Instead, you can write something constructive like ("We should have waited for our jungler to come" or "Was a good engage, just unfortunate miss of your skillshot"). Then I know where exactly I misplayed. Otherwise you are just wasting your time to type and the time of your teammates to read your message and you take a risk of tilting them.
I like your method, It seems constructive and reinforces positive behavior. You aren't calling out someone for a specific failure, but rather acknowledging mistakes were made, that its ok, and immediately offering ways to make sure it doesn't happen again. If you literally said, "don't walk into an unwarded area" then you are right, that is helpful advice and you shouldn't have been muted and cussed out. However what seems to be the more common phrasing is something more like this, "DUDE, seriously? why the fuck would you walk into their jg with no vision? are you retarded?" quickly followed by something like "omg gg, xx player sucks". See the difference? If they are raging after the first example then their perception of criticism is pretty immature, but considering how ridiculous people get I understand it to an extent.
