Aeolith (EUNE)
: TFT freezes during game since patch 9.22
I did a repair and the issue went away. Just so you guys know.
Aeolith (EUNE)
: TFT freezes during game since patch 9.22
Same thing happened to me. Cursor still moves, which seems odd.
: Weird, my wild assassin build doesn't even rely on akali, and if she wasn't just the top assassin I would (and often do) sub in a different ap assassin.
> [{quoted}](name=CloudedLogic,realm=NA,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=UAi9fBy8,comment-id=0000,timestamp=2019-10-02T00:58:31.670+0000) > > Weird, my wild assassin build doesn't even rely on akali, and if she wasn't just the top assassin I would (and often do) sub in a different ap assassin. Uhhh...why would you ever swap out Akali?
: Possible TFT Comp - Poison
I like it. My thoughts are that you'd want to go with a 2/4 on synergies with one random poison unit getting a stacking 10% max health DoT over 10 seconds at 2 and all of them getting the bonus at 4.
: How many games did it take you to get to gold?
38 games, but the whole climb was against platinums and golds for some reason.
Bultz (NA)
: I would never play Tft ranked, this game is so unbalanced it's a joke
Three starring champs, especially cost 1 champs, doesn't mean nearly as much as your items and overall comp. Sure they help, but you still need to build and place your items well and find the optimal synergies to win. On top of that some things just counter other things. Perhaps you just got countered. All that said, the game definitely does have some balance issues. I won't argue otherwise.
Empiroth (NA)
: This patch is kind of lame
I definitely agree on the knight meta being a problem. It's funny how they were weak at 55 DR and are now too strong at 65 DR. They probably need to go to 60. Shifters and Rangers are fine in my opinion.
: keep getting low elo players in my lobby
I'm having the opposite experience. I just started getting into ranked and my climb from bronze to high silver has been nothing but high golds and low platinums. The whole "your mmr doesn't necessarily match your rank" thing from League doesn't really work in TFT imo. Having to beat golds and platinums just to get into silver makes zero sense.
: TFT Player Pool Size Increase
Ztoka (NA)
: It definitely took a big hit w/ the attacks can't be dodge effect removed and nothing being added in its place. Like here is an item that was niche before, now we gutted it to make it even more niche.. 2x attack range can be useful for some champs, but most I find it trash. I mean, since the nerf, I have seen a rfc in w/e round carousel it is and it literally doesn't get picked up.. To me, that says something. Still good on some champs but a much smaller group benefits now. Just my opinion though.
> [{quoted}](name=Ztoka,realm=NA,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=cUe3QU3l,comment-id=00020000,timestamp=2019-09-30T20:44:53.737+0000) > > It definitely took a big hit w/ the attacks can't be dodge effect removed and nothing being added in its place. To me, that says something. Still good on some champs but a much smaller group benefits now. Just my opinion though. RFC is still a very good item on particular champs like assassins and ranged carries. You do understand that "good on some champs" is the target of all items right? They are supposed to be borderline useless if built on the wrong champ.
: TFT Practice tool
That'd be cool, but it would also take a lot of work in terms of programming AI to play TFT. Hopefully they do it someday, but I doubt it happens soon.
Ztoka (NA)
: RFC Change Is Not Cool
RFC is definitely not useless now. That said, removing any dodge bypass from all items was truly a dumb move.
Porglit (NA)
: Repeating crossbow has delayed stacks
Trash item that's also buggy. Good job Riot.
: Platinum is deadass in the middle of the ladder. So it would be safe to assume the game, dividing the top and bottom 4 players as winners a losers, as a coin toss. If you win, being top 4, your rank points towards Diamond with the opposite being true for the bottom 4 players. So if the average winrate for a TFT player is 50% or they have a 1 in 2 chance of being a top 4 player then it would be no surprise that average TFT players fall into Platinum. With winrate skewed based on the luck they get in the game. Item drops, champion rolls, match rotation, etc.
> [{quoted}](name=l Ryden l,realm=NA,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=12p6AtHo,comment-id=0002,timestamp=2019-09-28T16:19:14.822+0000) > > Platinum is deadass in the middle of the ladder. Item drops, champion rolls, match rotation, etc. If you actually look up platinum players they aren't ranked anywhere near the middle. Here: https://lolchess.gg/leaderboards?hl=en-US This further puzzles me as to why I'm facing so many platinums on my climb from bronze and silver.
Hamerfal (EUNE)
: What is the average TFT rank/elo?
I just started playing ranked and I've been a bit puzzled by the fact that I'm having to play against all plats and golds as I climb out of bronze and now silver. Is this normal? I'm not even sure it matters. I've whooped grandmaster players in normal and been beaten badly by silvers from time to time. I'm not really convinced there's that much difference between ranks really.
ZeroSixTeen (EUNE)
: Sejuani is a problem
Not a chance that you lost solely because of a Sej ult. Come on now.
Rod2g (NA)
: Glacial is absolutely ridiculous
I don't really think glacial is overpowered. The issue is that it's just really unfun to play against.
: How in the hell does one fight against Gnar?
He keeps getting buffed too lol.
Ztoka (NA)
: 2 spatulas = an extra champ. What comp does that not work well with?
> [{quoted}](name=Ztoka,realm=NA,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=dyNcdY1i,comment-id=00000000,timestamp=2019-08-14T20:52:46.559+0000) > > 2 spatulas = an extra champ. What comp does that not work well with? One that is completely item starved and nearly out of health by the time it gets that second spatula. Sitting on that one useless spatula for the whole game only to get a second near the end was a real kick in the balls.
: WHY IS GLACIAL AND PHANTOM A THING STILL
Yeah, there's some rather unfun designs in this game honestly (phantom, glacial, demon, yordle, item rng, the carousel, and now hextech). Riot's TFT team seems to be rather clueless to be honest.
Vecturn (NA)
: Not sure how I feel about hextech...
I'm sure I know how I feel about Hextech. It sucks giant dick.
Teh Song (NA)
: Can we maybe give it more than less than a day before such major judgement -_- And of course everyone is trying to build hextech right now, they're brand new. This is going to happen with every new class/origin they add.
> [{quoted}](name=Teh Song,realm=NA,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=a50RE2Il,comment-id=0003,timestamp=2019-08-14T16:16:58.517+0000) > > Can we maybe give it more than less than a day before such major judgement -_- > > And of course everyone is trying to build hextech right now, they're brand new. > This is going to happen with every new class/origin they add. More than one day? One game is all it takes to tell that Hextech is garbage game design.
: Hextech is really bad for this game:
Hextech is awful in every possible way. Combined with the item lottery and the annoying carousel, I'm just done with this nonsense. At least until they drastically change things.
KazKaz (OCE)
: Yet another patch where Item RNG isn't fixed
Yep. I'm done. I just had a game where I got basically no components (outside of the ones from the carousel) until raptors and two of those were spatulas (which did not work with my comp at all). Meanwhile there were people sitting on perfect items for their hypercarries. This game mode is just a joke presently. Oh and Hextech is the definition of unfun imo, so it seems like they are going in the wrong direction to me.
: TFT item drops rng still?
I'm done with this shit until they change it. Getting no items in first three rounds + krugs while others are sitting on four completed items...fuck this.
: The resist numbers add up fast. With (4) Knight buff, if you have 7 units and all 7 take 5 hits each that's already 1.05k damage blocked. Also note that damage mitigated still factors into mana gained from taking damage, meaning your units will gain more mana for taking less damage. Then you have stuff like Braum w/ Knight becoming nearly immune to all non-crit attack damage. Essentially Knight is a splash now. 6 Knight just seems like a terrible idea mostly cuz they're all melee except Kayle.
> [{quoted}](name=Z3Sleepier,realm=NA,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=fxvcEcQG,comment-id=000000000001,timestamp=2019-07-31T13:22:19.809+0000) > > The resist numbers add up fast. It should still not be utter trash at 6, else why even have the 6 buff to begin with? I mean with 6 knights you could still have 1-2 ranged carries, but why even bother with the current way it's setup?
: Knight changes look like a hard nerf to me.
Rather than flat damage block why don't they just get percentage damage resistance? 15%/30%/45% damage resistance would make them pretty solid imo, and would certainly scale much better.
: i mean old 6 knights was bad against everything even rangers did not care if you had the 80 damage blocks and thats like the best match up for 6 knights, gun slingers count on on hit effects anyway so taking some of their damage did not matter, at least now its more playable vs damage over time comps which is better then being playable against nothing.
> [{quoted}](name=hrooza dota ,realm=EUNE,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=fxvcEcQG,comment-id=000000000000,timestamp=2019-07-31T11:30:08.737+0000) > > i mean old 6 knights was bad against everything even rangers did not care if you had the 80 damage blocks and thats like the best match up for 6 knights, gun slingers count on on hit effects anyway so taking some of their damage did not matter, at least now its more playable vs damage over time comps which is better then being playable against nothing. Except that the resist against ability damage is pretty much meaningless as well. So the weak attack resist is even weaker, but hey you get really weak ability resist too! I really have to wonder if the person who thought these changes up actually plays the game. The resist values should've been kept the same and expanded as they are doing in the patch, and even then I think knights would probably remain pretty bad.
: It's going to be a massive buff. 60 Mag Resist is HUGE, given the thing that dismantles Nobles the most right now is Casters. Keep in mind they are also adding Armor to the front line Noble: Garen to compensate the tanky loss. To frame 60 resist in TFT: It's about a 35% Mag damage reduction. Paired with Kayle's late game invulns, it's significant.
> [{quoted}](name=Illabethe,realm=NA,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=fxvcEcQG,comment-id=0001,timestamp=2019-07-31T11:09:14.758+0000) > > It's going to be a massive buff. Why are you talking about nobles? This is about knights. The change is a buff at the 2 knight breakpoint, but is pretty much trash at the 6 knight breakpoint. You become weaker against auto attacks while getting barely anything back against ability damage. Knights are, at best, staying in their current state, and, at worst, are actually getting worse with these changes.
cars3n (NA)
: Who I think the new TFT champs will be
It's going to start getting really hard to build tier 3 champs if they add a bunch more options to the pool.
: TFT Balance
Some of those things are getting nerfs in the next patch. For some incomprehensible reason glacial was spared though.
: will it effect more stuffs now so they can tank abilitys like {{champion:34}} {{champion:85}} {{champion:84}} way better
> [{quoted}](name=hrooza dota ,realm=EUNE,application-id=RaE1aOE7,discussion-id=fxvcEcQG,comment-id=0000,timestamp=2019-07-31T10:36:52.078+0000) > > will it effect more stuffs now so they can tank abilitys like {{champion:34}} {{champion:85}} {{champion:84}} way better The damage resist values are so low it's just kind of meh on that front imo. I guess against damage over time abilities it will be okay, but at the same time, you are now weaker against auto attacks, so good luck against auto attack heavy comps like rangers and gunslingers. It's not like the 80 attack resist even really helped against auto attacking comps as it was, especially not late game.
Barkley (NA)
: Easy steps to balance the carousel round, and make it more dynamic.
Sounds like it would be better at least. I still dislike the who carousel concept though.
Rioter Comments
: Level 3 seems impossible for me and this game seems fair and balanced
2 or 3? Try beating some lucky bastard who gets 5 or 6 lol.
: Don't Allow Item Stacking
DUDE BRO (NA)
: 9.15, Normalized item drops?
Imagine if you just didn't get cards in some packs in a CCG draft tournament lol. Every pve round should give the same number of items every time. There's enough rng in this game without having the possibility of getting half as many items as your opponents. And if they have to keep the gold drops, at least have them give more gold ffs.
: The buff Knight needs.
Perhaps give them a bonus to their attacks equal to the amount they resist? Would definitely be much more appealing in my eyes.
: On a similar note, {{champion:112}} also got buffed and even if his winrate kinda moved higher, he is still way under 50%. I just feel like Riot don't know what the hell to do with most mages nowadays

: Meddler addresses high damage, doesn't understand what the community is saying
With the Fizz and Lee buffs it really seems like the complaints about damage are falling on deaf ears.
: Fizz is at 56% WR, 10% Play Rate, 32% Ban rate on Diamond+
Players complain about burst damage and one-shots, and what does Riot do? Massively buff the burst damage and one-shot potential of Fizz and Lee Sin. Rofl...
: Fizz is at 56% WR, 10% Play Rate, 32% Ban rate on Diamond+
God I hate Fizz. This buff makes my butthole twitch.
: Experimental Modes & Nexus Blitz
Not a fan of the RNG random event gimmick. Not a fan at all. That part feels very much like an RGM.

: Wait you mean riot is bad at their job and people are realizing it more and more the more they fuck up? Wow shocker. Honestly its insane balance and design still have their jobs, in any other industry people who suck ass at what they do get fired but for some reason riot just keeps employing idiots. : I want Scarra and/or other Ex Pro Players to lead the Riot Balancing Team
I think using them as parts of the team would be a great idea. Scarra in particular is a good example since he's been playing since very early in LoL's existence and has a good feel for what LoL is supposed to be. In particular I think those kinds of players would be very good as testers, who could offer feedback on changes after playing a bunch of games with them.
: Nexus Blitz might be the best chance we have for Rift to be fun again.
: Meddler addresses high damage, doesn't understand what the community is saying
Most high elo players are saying there's damage creep and too much burst. Pretty much everyone who plays the game is saying this. The arrogance of Riot these days is just sickening.
