: your punishment is yours alone. other people will have their own case, their own history, their own toxic frequencies and severities. You punishment is not a "trial" to show who is wrong, but a "review" of your own personal toxicity history and is not compared to anyone else other than yourself. The same applies to other people. The system also doesn't give you punishment notifications unless the game you reported them in was the game that got them punished. So if they got punished the next game, you won't know about it. People don't get away with toxicity, you just think people get away with it cos you don't see it happening.
Fair enough. But my friends have been playing this game for years (this is only my second) and they all say they have never gotten chat restrictions or a ban. I know they have talked shit before and some of this shit talk could have resulted in someone losing it and getting banned because it was their last straw. But my friends got no punishment because they have no recent history of being toxic. Seems a little lame to me.
: > when I respond appropriately to shit talk Responding by shit talking isn't appropriate, that's the whole problem. The best way to deal with someone else's negative behavior is not to do the same thing; that tends to escalate the issue, making you problem #2 that the rest of the team has to deal with. You may not be the instigator, but you are a participant where you otherwise could've just ignored them. I highly recommend being more liberal with the Mute button. I find that I am not inclined to speak to a player I have muted, and I certainly don't have to put up with their shit talking as well. This helps significantly with most negativity in the game. If you feel that engaging them is "defending yourself", well, "defending" implies that you are mitigating or preventing the problem. It's more likely you're doing the opposite. Muting is an absolute defense against negative chat, and when they find nobody is responding they tend to shift their focus back to the game where it belongs, and you get to do the same. If you retaliate in an attempt to "teach them a lesson", put yourself in their shoes for a second; Do you really care what a complete stranger online has to teach you, especially if they are insulting you or being hypocritical? Not likely. If they are just not that great at the game, everybody does bad at first and still does bad sometimes, they'll get better or they'll get demoted. If they are toxic, report them and let Riot teach them a lesson which is more likely to stick. You've tried muting and moving the chat box off the screen, but you circumvent your own restrictions to engage them anyway. I would recommend some other possible methods of removing your ability to chat; 1. Edit your config file to shrink the chat window size down to nothing (-150 is enough). 2. Use a 3rd party keyboard app, such as those inherent with most gaming keyboards, and change/disable your Enter key while League is active. While everything to prevent this takes consistent effort on your part, you can also consider taking breaks from League to cool down instead of queueing back up after a bad match. This could just be for half an hour, or you could even take a hiatus from League and come back next season.
Everything you are saying is perfectly reasonable but I assure you, you do not know what it is it like from my perspective. If you could play a game as me you would understand what it's like. I cannot control it but I take every insult personally. If i were playing in the same room as people who have shit talked me fed and then tilted me in the past, I would be in jail right now because I would have killed them. This is not an over exaggeration this is truth, I would have killed them. I wish there was a way you could see it from my perspective but I don't think there really is. Banning people for hacking I can understand, scamming or abusing the money system in some way I can understand, banning someone who is notorious for inting I undertstand. But it is extremely stupid to ban someone for shit talk, it's such a con move. "this guy talks a lot shit, oh well lets get rid of him and keep all the money he spent, he's free to make another account but he can't get this one back." That thought process probably doesn't even get to occur because they probably just have robots doing it. Using bots to determine if a player is permanently banned from a game show how much RIot cares. I wish I could change but I don't think I can, sorry I don't fit the perfect society of butterflies and rainbows this game promotes.

: > Welp there's my third perma ban Is there anything else to say? 3rd right? If you really like the game then You must realize that you were Not born with anger issues Friend! 3 Permanent bans right? Play a game with some of the Blues or Riot if you can get them....If all else fails play a game with me and i could add a few people I know who may be able to show you how to play w/o being banned. I'd try if your willing!
I was though. I was born with basically no empathy I have a huge problem maintaining relationships with friends. People who I consider close friends will come up to me and ask me if I even like them at all. I was born dangerously close to be a sociopath. Sure I would be down to try matches with people like me but besides that I don't see how it would help. Random people I don't know telling me not to type sounds like something that would make me mad.

But the people who start it don't get penalized or their chat logs not even looked at. Thats completely unfair? I understand what you are saying, but they get off scott free. It's like those chicks who accuse dudes of rape, ruin their lives and then never come clean. I'm not so great with configs and lines of code but my friend is and he locked my enter key for me. It worked for a bout 5 games and then I threatened him if he didn't unlock it. If there was I way I could have absolutely no hand at changing it back that would work. They need to add perma chat restrictions.

: Oooooor /mute all or /ignore all
I said in my post that I did do that. Then someone on my team would make a shitty brainless play and I would unmute all and start flaming them.
: > the anger management issues I was born with Wat. Thats just lack of discipline.
I got kick out of my kindergarten for knocking a kid unconscious. My name is Jay Lee and he called me (Jay Lee the Baby). I sen t him to the hospital. Got expelled from first second and third grade for knocking kids unconscious. Had to move middle schools for the same reason. In highschool nobody really snitches but by the end of my highshcool career I had been in about 50 fights. MY life wasn't troubling, I got spankings and punches from my parents they disciplined me the way they should. But I have a red mist when its comes to anger I have absolutely no way of stopping myself from going over the top. I break pencils and books over wrong answers, I got through plenty of mice. I have done tons and tons of therapy. There is something wrong with my brain it's not just a lack of discipline.

I think it have to do with the clients. I had switched to legacy client to spectate my friend's game and I'm pretty sure I made the purchases on the legacy. Do you think that may have affected it in some way?
