Tbh, it's because of how many critical posts are on there, that affect Riot's questionable decisions.

Sorry, but my boy {{champion:9}} deserves a rework before anyone else. How do I know this? Because champions like Ryze have already gone through at least 1 vgu. My boy fiddle diddle has had less textures than S1 minions.
: Patch videos that ACTUALLY used to summarize changes.
The reason this is a huge deal, is because simply writing down why X was nerfed due to Y, isn't that constructive. When you hear someone actually speak in-depth about the changes, you get a feeling of legitimacy and acknowledgment. Like they actually give a genuine fuck.

They actually stated, no one on the balance team could ever influence a buff on any of their favourite champions or it would lead to company problems. : If you've ever looked up Morello's profile in the social media, it's pretty obvious he's a smart guy. So no wonder (even post-mortem thought) that he did a good job while on the helm.
His philosophy on balance, was the core reason for the game being in a much better state than it is now.
: the reason it was changed is because you had to pay for it and it was very impactful. level 30s going into ranked didnt have access to multiple pages of runes unless they spent rp on it. masteries werent unlocked until level 30 so you had to grind to level 30 and spend another month testing everything out. this put new players at a huge disadvantage when playing against higher levels or people who paid for their stuff in normals. remember ranked isnt the only game mode. think of it like this - you forgot to get a keystone before or didnt have a rune page. you instantly lost lane. there were no 2 ways about it. now you at least get a random preset page for your runes and the runes+masteries have been streamlined. are they better/more balanced? i'd argue they were at one point. it still needs a lot of work, but it's definitely better for new players and people who arent throwing 3 and 400 dollars at their soon to be banned account.

If this were the case, then all they had to do was provide a way to reward at least 1 rune page with a decent set of runes to get started. I can understand grinding, because at least it gave new players the appropriate amount of time to adjust to the game and learn to adapt to system that trains them at each level. Now you don't have any of that, it's just got pancaked to the point, that we gotta pay the price in tolerating a newcomer, crying about why he gromp killed him.
: The old system definitely allowed for more diversity and freedom, but it was difficult to read for new players. :/ Pretty sure that is all.
> [{quoted}](name=A treespook nest,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=lt7vH4v0,comment-id=0002,timestamp=2018-07-16T09:46:46.246+0000) > > The old system definitely allowed for more diversity and freedom, but it was difficult to read for new players. :/ Pretty sure that is all. Lots of players that started playing back in the day, figured out the mastery and runes system wasn't that hard. Now, theres this idea that somehow, new players today need to be cradled, all the while butchering the game in half is completely okay.

: Ghost Crawler: "We certainly don’t balance the game only for pros"
Speaking of rune changes, I find it kind of funny they even brought the current rune system over the last. Riots excuse to remove the older system was "oh to implement more variety" yet it's much more limited. Yeah, okay we barely have any freedom outside of these 1-4 select runes, unlike the last where you could actually set a dozen sets of resistances or anything. Im not exactly sure, if they will fix anything, unless they give up this "always changing" mind set and actually start working towards the root of the game.
: Can someone explain to me, what's wrong with Conqueror?
Every archetype has its advantages over another. The only glaring issue with conqueror I see, is that amount of damage input is only thought of "oh its just 20% of the armor/mr" but it's actually the entire overkill in damage Meta itself that's synergistic to the issue. Yeah, you can have a class that negates some one, it only becomes problematic, when you actually account for all the insanely high damage already placed it into the game, that it feels like you're being choked inside a vaccume sealed space.

I agree. If you look up old clips, there have been people who earned even penta kills, by actual decision-making skills and knowledge of the rock-paper-scissors formations. : They just need to take the "top" players in each division and ask about what is working and not working in league and how they might be able to improve and compile this information, find the similarities and balance accordingly after they add their **_Riot _**touch and go from there. Maybe all they have to do is use that idea and woke with it. Then distribute surveys and collect data instantly and since everyone will get a survey regardless of rank, everyone's input can be taken under consideration under a short time frame. Then maybe have a red post update us on the data collected.

I got this strange fantasy in my head where the reason the balance in this game leaves so many people wanting is because the head honcho's in charge of coming up with buffs and implementing dont play the game near as much as the NEED to. In my headcannon all of LoL's designers are like 30-50 year old Boomers who have a wife and kids + other hobbies going on their lives which doesn't give them enough time to just sit down and no-life LoL like a streamer or a much more dedicated whale player would. In my headcannon the LoL designers play the game very sparingly and VERY casually (they might even be encouraged too!) thusly because of that they've dulled their edge and they only have a loose grasp of their game via data and talking to their playtest teams the ACTUAL D5+players who are actually qualified to be handling balance but are instead treated as expendable interns( tbh tho I wouldn't even mind if the designers were low ranked so long as their account showed they were puttin in the hours and an actual modicum of effort and interest in the game they have been tasked with taking care of.). So the designers dont have time to sit down and earn Mastery7 on all 141 champions to develop that firsthand experience and deep knowledge about the in's and out's of all the champions in their game. The strengths, their weaknesses where the FUN of playing them comes from and where the UNFUN of playing AGAINST them comes from ect. They dont understand any of this and they cant bothered because they gotta be a family man plus they've been with Riot for a long time so it wouldn't be fair to just give them the boot like they're a nobody because that would be unfair right? But therein lies the unfairness for the rest of the playerbase. Should a man unfit for a job get the job anyway because he's got a family to feed? In other words Riot seems to be ran by Nepotism rather than Meritocracy which has begun directly affecting the game for the worse and even as people cry havoc non-stop in the forums nothing will change and everything will be brushed off as "well people always complain, its fine guys you're all doin great :)". the sweet little lies as the shelf-life of the game is all but accelerated. again I'd like to point out that this is ENTIRELY speculation and I actually dont know anything about the personal lives of Rioters besides what they toss out on Twitter. This is just the way my brain has chosen to rational the past couple years of wonk balance. What a strange twist of fate where the video game designers themselves dont have time to play video game and the only voice of reason left in the balance department are the younger playtesters and interns. If they aren't doing their jobs as a "balance" team then how is that any different than someone else not doing their job? It's enough to get anyone fired. Of course, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but if players are leaving and they aren't even so much as communicating, even just a little, than its corruption and they have failed to do their jobs.
