: I agree, the system is terrible for a competitive game. I have been told to get cancer and die and that they hope my house burns and my whole family dies, and yet I am punished for this. There needs to be more leniency. The less that people can say to each other, the more people will troll and int. Because trollers and inters rarely get punished. But if you say the first thing to them, then you'll be punished. Something needs to change about the entire honor system. Chat restrictions are supposed to be a warning; then why does a mere warning strip you of all end of season rewards, and takes you months to restore what you once had? Even better, bring back the warning from the old client that you had been recently reported for verbal abuse. That may get people to step back on what they say. I know that if you've recently been toxic (but not enough to warrant a punishment) then your honor progress will be slowed. Why cant we get a warning in the client that we have recently been unsportsmanlike and that honor progress has been slowed?
Dude. Checkout my post: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/E6bev8ZP-please-help-me-understand-how-did-i-get-chat-restricted-over-this Tell me if my chat log was out of line or not. It's as tame as yours and I got chat restricted. Riot punishment algo is such a joke yikes
: that's not prove
How's this not enough proof? To quote you: " the reform card only shows you **1-5 recent games** as examples of unacceptable behavior, doesn't mean you were punished for 1 game alone." Only the chat log it clearly shows that my punishment was only based on one game (which was not even that toxic)? I'm still waiting for Riot to respond to my ticket.
: It's laughable that you got chat banned for that but hey, it's riot, and money is more important than people's experiences so they'd rather spend their on yachts than on paying people to make a discipline system that works right.
Pretty sure they ban people so they make (or buy) new accounts and buy more RP. Smart business ploy if you ask me. Too easy to get punished nowadays it's such a joke lmao
: Please help me understand.. how did I get chat restricted over THIS?
It's also very telling how this community loves to downvote posts that display any sort of rebellion against Riot's corrupt system. Sure, my chat log shows a slight degree of 'toxicity', but it's not extreme and I was just merely defending myself against a flaming troll. Why/when has this community become such snowflakes? In real life, if someone talks sh!t about you in front of your face, would you just quietly accept it and not say anything back? ALL THE TIME? Surely everyone has their breaking point. Same with online games. Too many trolls, too many times I've stayed quiet. It's only fair you talk back at them? I don't understand this community.

: The reform card shows you 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior, doesn't mean you were punished for 1 game alone. I challenge you to write to https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us and ask them how any games were considered in your punishment. Their answer would surprise you.

: The punishment algorithm is consistency x severity. Meaning you can be punished for 1 game of extreme toxicity or many recent games of minor toxicity. If you were toxic in a game and you weren't punished for it, then that game is stored in your behavioral history and will be used as part of the punishment. People make the wrong assumption that people are punished on individual games alone, but the reform card only shows you 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior, doesn't mean you were punished for 1 game alone. The flaw isn't the algorithm, the flaw is that people don't know how the algorithm works and how close they are towards a punishment.
I have not been 'toxic' in previous games and my report card only shows 1 game log that contributed to this penalty. if you need prove: http://i68.tinypic.com/s5fltx.png

: I saw a youtube vid that basically says that if you talk and ppl report you, you can get chat restricted over a 'negativity' clause, people can INT but if they don't talk, and you try to make them correct their path via text and both report each other, you're the one getting affected. So basically we need to avoid communication via text because the system isn't adequate enough.
This is it. I think the algorithm aggressively looks for frequent chat activity as an indicator to 'verbal abuse'. This is such a joke. Riot needs to update their algo. I barely said anything toxic. It's like riot wants us to be submissive players. We're not even allowed to defend ourselves online and talk back. So frustrating
: I believe this is dumb to get punished for. I have said and dealt with way worse every day. I am extremely confused as to where the line is between punishment and no punishment. I mean... I occasionally get people threatening to rape and kill my family, but their accounts remain active like they did nothing wrong lol
I'm speechless. Riot's punishment algorithm is so flawed
