One of the "favorites" they listed was event passes. Does anybody actually like having to spend $15 and play a lot of games just to get anything from the event? I mean, for your money you get some chromas and skin shards. Doesn't seem worth it to me. I always felt like the passes were just a cash grab, and I can't imagine anybody thinking they are a good deal. > > So, do any of you guys like the event passes, and if so, why? : I agree the wording of this removal needed tweaking. It's a meme, certainly, and I don't believe this was intended as harassment. That said, the *removal* (which did not contain a punishment), is appropriate. As per the rules of ***Player Behavior***: >Most people who come to Player Behavior after a ban or chat restriction are frustrated, angry or upset. It is important that our responses remain positive and come from a genuine desire to help them understand what happened and why. **Replies that are overly negative, dismissive or combative are not appropriate and may be removed.** "Get gud" in this context is a dismissive reply that, while suited (and rather amusing) on a board like ***General Discussion*** is *not* equally appropriate on a board like ***Player Behavior***, which has specifically separate rules. I'll have a discussion with the moderator in question about how we convey the reasons when we remove this sort of content in the future.

: Well... neither of the things you've said are true. Many fan-favorites for skin sales are champions who have persistently performed poorly. Meanwhile, there are dozens of examples of champions getting buffs immediately before or after a skin release.
Well I think they only thing that cant be true in this the favoritism of champs,(Though I wonder why some champs can be so strong and oppressive for so long but I digress) the rest is my opinion. So when I say that I think a viable champion sells more skins, it is not like I have access to those metrics. So I don't get what your getting at. I made this post to highlight the idea that people are saying buffs are for skin sales.

I actually have said this for a while now and even had a moderator say "thats not true and you know it" But skins sell better on viable champions. Riot wants money not respect.

: you can try to abuse op champs to gain 1 or 2 ranks, but it wont help you actually improve to reach whatever rank you have in mind. here is a video that will probably lead you toward the right path https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoHiSxZUqFA
While macro is very important this video will not help him as this is from before turret plating and the minion speed change. The game has been sped up tremendously and this method of macro is smart but being 0-6 like this and having no towers in the current meta has far more punishing effects. For example even though they were behind they were making good gold off cs and making good picks which helped stabilized the gold difference but now the gold difference would of been huge with turret platings. Second McBaze does create good pressure with catching side lanes but minion speed staunches macro like this as the waves will crash sooner than they did here. There are good tips in this video but imo to climb especially bronze its just going to be a sheer number of games and playing something that insta gibs the opponents.

How does this work? Is this any different than getting someone to sign a petition? Or is it due solely to the fact he had people up vote it from his stream?

: as someone that has played mobas for almost 20 years, why would you want 60 minute games? every moba, not just league, thats meta stretched past 30 minutes, that I have ever played, has triple the AFKers. Triple. Think about that. Additionally, the amount of AFKers I have experienced since game time was reduced is drastically less. I'll admit, I don't like games ending at 15 often, but the sweet spot is 20 minutes, not 30, not 60.
While 60 minute games are long and sometimes can be an arduous task especially when people want to play more than 4 games a day. The problem is that now in these fast paced games. There is a lack of strategy that was present when games lasted longer. There was room for actual mistakes during this time that now cost games unlike before. I disagree with your afk statement now that games are faster people do not want to take the time to play a game out to win and would rather just dc or afk after it does not look good. When games took longer it forced people to play better as every game meant more. Now that a person can effectively play 3 games an hour they are more willing to just say ff and move on when before they were more determined to play a game out since games on usual lasted longer. Imo Longer games made for better games because people knew that they had to make a small amount of games count more than the back to back games they play these days. It forced people to play better and rather than this watered down version. Because now instead having to wait a half hour for a game to end people who rq and afk actually get to get back into a game faster. so at most if a team is not behind and can hold a 4v5 the game will end at 20 with a 3-1 ff vote. it can end at 15 if the last 4 unanimously vote for yes. This is do to the fact that because games are faster overall there is not as much comeback potential like there was in earlier seasons, Granted there is come back gold but there is no way to effectively stall a game when your team is behind or down a man. This is why there are more afk's in these faster paced season than before. Due to an afk or rq not having to wait as long for a game to end like they had to before ergo afk's and rq's are not as punished as they were before.

Yes, it is but just today this is the third time I've lost due to someone like hecarim. Im tired of it. Im not always the best player on the team but im never actively ruining the whole game for everyone.

It seems after every three-game win streak you are given a teammate that clearly is not playing to the best of their ability or is just totally outmatched. I wouldn't care but it happens too often after a streak for it to be a coincidence. It honestly feels that if you are a player that wins more the games will only get harder as your teammates will get worse. I totally respect that it might feel that way, but in reality it just isn't true. Streaking is not a concept in matchmaking for League. Every winstreak will eventually end in a loss. People often remember losses much more clearly than they remember wins. It's just as likely that in every game you won, there was an equally outmatched player on your team, you were just able to claim victory so them being outmatched doesn't matter to you. However, when you lose, it matters a lot, so you remember it.

The fact of the matter is how the game balances a high win rate player by trying to even the teams with a lower win rate player. In essence, that means good players get worse teammates over time.
: The part I think is kinda WTF is "We don't have reliable enough contact with those teams." Even if that's true, is there really not an in-place procedure for inter-department contact? Or is that reserved for the highest priority issues? I suppose they might be saying, "If I try and message someone, they'll probably just ignore me."
Same, but it goes to show that player support really is just to comfort and make players feel better instead of fixing an issue.
: Riot intentionally gives lower gains/higher losses in diamond.
IM DEAD HE TOLD YOU TO MAKE THE POST ON THE BOARDS OR REDDIT. My gosh, he says he doesn't even talk to those teams regularly and that means there's a lack of communication. Which is not surprising I mean look at how much Riot actually engages in talks with its community.

There is MMR decay but it is nothing like decay in ranked. It takes a very long time to even start decaying from inactivity and the amount of that decay is much slower. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have taken a look at the system in general and everything appears to be working as intended. I couldn't find your "other" account, so I couldn't look into your case specifically but based on what you are showing and what you have said, I can guess what's happening. The difference in MMR between P4 and G2 is probably not as big as you think it is, which is why you see plat players in your games. Also, winrate isn't a factor in matchmaking. Essentially what is happening is this; you, with a high winrate at your MMR (climbing), are occasionally meeting up with players that have a low winrate (falling) at the same MMR. I get that this is frustrating, but we can't just group all the high winrate players together and all the low winrate players together. Low winrate can be explained in a lot of ways. Could just be a bad start to the season, or players trying a new role/champion, there are MANY factors that could lead to difference in winrate at the same MMR. The MMR number is the only thing that matters in matchmaking. The reality is that if you have a high winrate then your MMR is going up relative to what your rank indicates. You will be gaining lots of LP on wins and not losing very much for losses. The system is trying to move you up. Are you going to win every game? No. Are you always going to be matched with people that are the same rank as you? No, because they are not the same MMR as you and again MMR is all that matters for matchmaking.

: I'm curious about the percentage of games you find unsatisfactory
I am as well my goal is to get a sample size out of the games. To determine the percentage of how many games on average are just unwinnable.
: How strict are you going to be with what counts as trolling? Can you actually and truthfully judge it objectively? It'd be interesting if you did, but few people actually can.
Its is only going to be logged on this board if it was truly intentional feeding or quitting. I'm super lenient on on dc and afk's as computers are not always reliable and I have dc'd a few games do to technical problems my self.
: I've watched a couple people climb to challenger on a fresh account this season. But in most of the games I've seen there's nobody on their team, not a single person, going like 0/10. Are they just really lucky or there something they're doing? Hell, I watched a guy climb as Morgana support. Something that I've always found hard, and I'm really good at my one trick. In none of his games did he have a 0/10 top laner. Not a single one. That's like every third game I play! I asked him about it and he said it was honestly just luck. But come on really? I admit he's a better player than me. He's fucking challenger. So if he says its luck he doesn't get hard inters then what chance does a non-godlike player like me have? I've never claimed to be challenger. I'm probably a peak diamond level player, but I just can't climb this season without every game being fucking miserable. My mental is in shambles because I actually hate the game right now.
Do not undercut yourself if you want masters, grandmaster, or challenger you can do it. You have the skills but at the end of the day, it is a marathon to play. You have to be able to put in just a massive amount of time. You can do it, man, I believe. To get there from where you're at a diamond level your gonna have to analyze your games and just keep playing. At plat your in the top 2.5% and at diamond- its the top 1%. you are already playing with them you just have to run the marathon.
: I was gold for many seasons before I tried to climb. I'm somewhere around high plat or low diamond now in skill level. Although this season has been very miserable for me. Even so, I find gold games extremely challenging because people just feed their asses off. In all the years I've played I don't remember gold having so many people who troll, don't give a shit, hard int, and just generally have so little game knowledge. Generally by the time you reach gold you're pretty good mechanically. You can get like 6-7 cs/minute, you can play your champion. The main flaws in gold have just been macro level decision making. But that isn't the case in season 9. I would swear the players in gold are bronze. They can't cs. They don't ward. They often can't even play their champions. The games are hard as shit and if 4 people are winning, but one person wants to lose the game is over. I had a game last night where top was even, I was 4/0 by 10 minutes in as jungle jax, and bot lane was 10/2. My mid lander was 0/7 and spammed "xd" all game in all chat and we lost the game. He refused to participate. I just don't get it. I honestly don't understand what has happened to this game. And don't even get me started about plat. I had a game a few weeks ago with a guy who was diamond 1 last season. He went 0/15 in lane. Like what the fuck? The games seem like a coin flip.
I agree I ended last season p1 and gold this season is atrocious. I can tell you it is harder to carry at lower elos than it has ever been. The amount of int and trolling is higher than ever as well. IM actaully keeping a log of how many times it happens on the boards but with my luck now that im logging them im not getting trolled so.
: Imo gold is very bad right now. Ever since the ranked changes and revert the skill disparity in teammates is huge. In my personal experience, they do not how to play safe or wait. Second they want to fight all the time and put no effort into objectives only kills.
And they do not respect enemy champions. Hundreds of times in gold they try and hold a first tier to just be dove.
: Jungling in Gold elo

: But then All the Mage mains on the boards will come out and talk about how trash it feels to not one shot everything and adcs mains will be right behind them because they play mages secondary.
Really as a mage player all I dislike is the mobility that other champs have while I do not have any. Playing some mages there is no option to run when every champ played can go through walls lol.

: Peoples definition of troll have become so loose that anyone who plays poorly is automatically a troll. Personally I see a real troll once every 50 or 60 games and my report usually gets me a feedback.
Yes, I agree the term troll is used loosely but for this post only true intentional feeding and afk is making the report.
: And let me guess, the player that went 1/6 and just had a bad game was a troll, too?
If you read other posts you can see, A bad game does not count

: I appreciate that you want to do this. Please provide a clear definition of "troll" and of "afk." Remember that you will not be able to post your findings on the player behavior sub-forum due to its rules.
The clear definition of these two is that the player is intentionally doing this. If they are inting kills thats going on the list, if they rq and say something "like thats it im done" and leave it makes the list.

: Add one to your list. My jungler asked top if he could grab Yasuo for him. The jungler trolls, grabs amumu and doesn't trade LOL

: Low amount of data tho if you consider thousands if not hundred of thousands of games happen daily. In the end it will equal out, that's just how statistics work. Additionally there are factors including yourself, if you generally tilt people, (this is not an accusation just a hypothetical factor) it is more likely for them to leave the game.
That is a good point as well, In games, I try not to aggravate my teammates as we are all trying to win.
: When it comes to afk, are you going to include the times that the offender is trying to come back? Like times they dc and reconnect every 10 seconds
If a guy played 15 minutes and leaves without saying anything and comes back it's just an issue on his end not intentional. Only intentional trolling, feeding, inting, or afk will make it to the list. Bad games are just bad games

: "I will log trolls" Smurfs =|= trolls. Smurfs = Smurfs. Also worth noting: Bad games =|= trolls. Going 3/12 in an obviously bad game, but not giving up or inting, its not the same as running it down. Some people just get dumpstered. As long as OP is good at determining games where the 0/12 mid is just getting murdered apart from the games where the 0/12 mid is screaming "open mid, report my team!" and playing touchdown (which seems pretty damn easy to me) he'll have accurate data.
Exactly what you say people have bad games and that happens not every game is going to be good. I have couple games in my match history playing ADC where I was dumpstered. It was not inting or trolling just a bad game. With the data I plan to collect it is not about winning or losing. (Though I like winning). It is about getting the number of times someone can be trolled in ranked.
