: Riot Balance & Design teams have cured my addiction
I feel the same way too. I can't even enjoy "fun" gamemodes like ARAM or NB anymore either because it's all the same shit, everything just does too much damage. Not to mention every game has at least 1 new/reworked champion whose kit is overloaded and ruins the fun.
Rioter Comments
: I miss the consistent rotating game mode. Are there any plans to bring it back? This once every two months dry spell is depressing.
Agreed. They took complaints about having ascension every weekend a little too seriously and decided to instead have them 3 times a year. I'd rather have ascension every weekend than nothing at all at this point.

: If anything, Kai'sa's design is "bad" because it doesn't look like it fits the thematics of a survivor. She can be sexy, but she should look like she has a history of surviving. And surviving is learning from mistakes.
Again, "bad" according to you but not to those who have no problem with it.
Arakadia (NA)
: I see an issue with this when it limits creativity and overall design potential. People also enjoy playing unique characters. People enjoy playing monsters too. Yes Riot wants to make as much money as possible, but it does suck when people who want something different when generic anime waifu #1065 comes fresh out of the factory. And then you look at character designs like Kai'sa which are limited and weakened because Riot catered so much towards this audience.
But it doesn't suck, all you're doing is ignoring all the people who enjoyed Kai'sas design and discrediting it just because she's sexy as if that's somehow a terrible thing.

: Context matters, but if we don’t accept that games are games, we make it harder to branch out to other crowds.
If you agree that context matters and also agree that there aren't more women gamers than men then I don't understand why you would accept that playing mobile games is a fair comparison which is where the flawed statistic comes from. That's cognitive dissonance, you can't have both.

Except for the part where playing starcraft requires learning macro management which isn't easy and matchup strategies.
Ralanr (NA)
: Games are games however. Saying mobile games aren’t games only enforces the negative stereotype of what and what isn’t a gamer.
So you don't think it's dishonest to compare playing 10 mins of candy crush on your commute to work to AAA or multiplayer games that have dedicated fanbases who play hours a day and then coming out with a flawed statistic that women play more games than men? Context matters.
: > [{quoted}](name=Calabera,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=hRcRNWyI,comment-id=001000000000,timestamp=2018-11-19T19:29:23.996+0000) > > I don't, but you also shouldn't have a problem with the fact that people enjoy generic anime waifus. Nope, because YOU are the one who said you don't care about a character's design. I never said that. In fact, I care about their design more than their kit.
Then obviously that comment doesn't apply to you, does it.
Ralanr (NA)
: So wait, are you saying mobile gaming doesn’t count in identifying how many gamers there are of each gender?
It's not an accurate representation. Playing some free game from the app store is being compared to playing hours on a computer, and that's where the "more women play video games than men" stat comes from.
: If you say you're more interested in the kit than in how the champion looks like, you should have no problem with me wanting female champions that don't look like generic anime waifus.
I don't, but you also shouldn't have a problem with the fact that people enjoy generic anime waifus.
Ralanr (NA)
: I don’t think there are more female than male gamers nowadays. I am well aware that there are a lot (like, 48% of gamers identify as female according to a lot of academic journals I’ve been reading lately) but I don’t think they there are more. Unless I’m reading you wrong.
They're not, it's a study that also included mobile gaming.

: YES, PLEASE, GIVE FEMALE CHAMPS MORE DIVERSITY. I would have been ALL OVER a Neeko that was full lizard. Riot pls, this is what your fanbase ACTUALLY wants. I was actually really hoping/theorizing for an ink mage, who could also be actually old and not "Oh I'm old but I look like a hot cougar because hextech" like Camile. Like, anything. So many champs. I too remember the golden days of champs like Illaoi, Kalista, and Rek'Sai. Those were champions that made me cling to League more, because I thought it was changing for the better and releasing champs for EVERYONE, not just horny weeb boys....

Riot pls, this is what your fanbase ACTUALLY wants. Since when do you speak for the entire fanbase? Is it that hard to grasp the fact that maybe a good portion of the playerbase actually enjoys designs like Kaisas and Neekos or do their opinions simply not matter because you immediately discredit them as "horny weeb boys"?
: Anyone here put off by Riot's current art decisions?
People enjoy playing attractive champions and the company caters to that, what a surprise. I have no problem with it, and i'm sorry if you feel that way but you're in the minority. I feel like the focus should be more on what the champions kit is than what they look like anyway.
: ARAM is seriously fucked up
ARAM is beyond fucked up. If it's not the bugs it's the 1 sided stomps that have become common with the implementation of the bench because it's far easier to roll a good comp. I'm afraid once Nexus Blitz is up permanently the ARAM population will end up dwindling down, 1 patch a year for ARAM maintenance isn't enough.

Sure things like the loot system made skins free but it also made their profits skyrocket because of the gambling system that came along with it. Now I don't disagree with the system and I think paying for cosmetics is fine, but Riots "generosity" is all profit driven as well. The point I was making is that we already get lots of stuff for free and no one should complain they charge for certain visual stuff Whether or not Riot have enough money doesn't matter lol If you solo run a company and make $5,000,000 a year, that's enough for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life but you'll still aim for $50,000,000 won't you

It's a free to play game but most people will tell you they've dropped more than a AAA game on it just for the visual stuff. Again i'm fine with it, but I do feel like Riot could take it easy with locking too much stuff behind cash. Things like chromas shouldn't cost money but should instead be a blue essence sink. There's plenty of minuscule things that could be bought with blue essence (ward skins, borders) but it'll never happen because Riot wants to make 4b instead of the 3b they have now. From that point of view yeah it feels a little greedy.
: You wouldn't work without pay. Why should Riot?
Yeah because Riot is clearly struggling financially. Sure things like the loot system made skins free but it also made their profits skyrocket because of the gambling system that came along with it. Now I don't disagree with the system and I think paying for cosmetics is fine, but Riots "generosity" is all profit driven as well.
: [GAMELAY] PING GOES FROM LOW TO HIGH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS AND AFTER RETURNS NORMAL
I'm having the same issues after this recent patch, especially in ARAM. I keep getting random spikes that makes the game delay like crazy.
: Yasuo's Wind-wall is balanced, but its execution is what breaks him.
Neither of those are as much of an issue as Yasuo pressing windwall and immediately winning the fight for his team because it stops every single auto or ranged ability. What it needs is a health bar like Yoricks wall, he shouldn't be able to sit under it while marksmen or mages are unable to do anything.

: Nexus Blitz - Week 4 Feedback and Patch Notes
I feel like NB suffers from the same issues ARAM does and that is poke champions are a little too strong at all stages of the game, especially Lux. Once they get the On Fire buff then you get nuked before you even have time to react, and since they can do so from a safe range it means they're never in a position to get caught since towers are close to each other. Shield stacking is also a huge problem because of the games increased cap on cooldown reduction.
: ARAM vote cancel/auto balancing
I think the recent patch made the balance even worse. Rerolling bad champions isn't the only option anymore, you can now reroll decent champions to see if you get better ones for yourself or your teammates -- and if you don't you can simply swap back to the champs you rerolled. This means that there's more chances to roll better champions and get a stronger comp as there's no longer a penalty to rerolling, I personally have been seeing more xerath, ziggs, and lux in my matches and less low tier ARAM champs since the change.
: Warmogs replacement for ARAM
Hopefully it gets added back after the event is over, playing a melee in general in ARAM can be a struggle while poke champions are strong throughout every point of the game. If warmogs was removed because of too much sustain, then healers like Sona should be removed as well. There's no reason for that champion to be in ARAM, she completely breaks it with her never ending sustain and her winrate indicates that. It's even worse now with the health relic, because on top of heal W sustain and redemption there's now yet another AoE heal.
: While I do believe ARAM only accounts are a problem, please consider the following. ARAM has way more people dodging than any other mode due to someone not liking their comp or champ and people will usually reroll bad ARAM champs but not the strong ones.
The way I see it is people dodge because of bad team comps, not because they don't like playing a particular champion. If you play ARAM regularly then you should be more than comfortable in playing a good chunk of the champion pool, but that goes out the window when you roll a horrible team and the other side is likely to have a much better comp than yours because of the chance someone has only the best champions for ARAM. Unlocking every champion in ARAM would reduce dodging because it would lessen the fear that their comp isn't as bad as yours, both sides would have an equal chance of getting bad rolls instead of just the side with less ARAM accounts.
Escheton (EUW)
: On behalf of ARAM players: We do not appreciate the recent Yi buffs. Dark Harvest Yi is an monster.
That's not a Yi problem, that's a Dark Harvest problem. That's all ARAM seems to be nowadays, a Dark Harvest farming simulator because almost every single champion aside from mages take it.
: The algorithm you use to determine "Random" in ARAM is broken.
What bothers me the most about ARAM is that despite being a PERMANENT queue Riot refuses to do any meaningful tweaks towards making it a healthier mode, it's basically just tossed into the back and forgotten aside from the 1 time a year Riot decides to throw a bone its way. In the 4 - 5 years i've been playing ARAM i've never seen the mode as bad as it is now, the 15 min surrender option is basically useless as most games end now anywhere around 10 mins. By the time the option to surrender is there, you're already pushed into your nexus. I seriously wish Riot would pay more attention to ARAM, it's not as if its some game mode that's only up on the weekends.
: Dear Riot, I'm breaking up with you.
I also wonder why a permanent mode that has been around for years has barely been touched in terms of balance. It's not like ARAM is only around for the weekend like a rotating game mode, it's been here for a while and won't be going anywhere. If this is the case then Riot could at the very least make some tweaks for the health of the mode instead of the once a year "oh yeah ARAM exists" patch because nobody finds 15 mins matches fun, in fact it feels like a waste of time since nothing was accomplished in that time frame aside from a 1 sided stomp. I know it won't happen, but just disabling Sona would make ARAM far more enjoyable than it is now. Her ARAM win rate is about 67% right now, but there's been times when it's almost reached as high as 80% (her rework) which makes you want to afk when you see her on the opponent side. As for ARAM accounts there's no point of even bringing it up anymore since you can find posts about it tracing back years but Riot still refuse to do anything about it, they clearly don't care enough.
: Bring back URF
I'd prefer hexakill in TT, or dominion. Whenever URF/ARUF rolls around it ends up becoming old fast as some champions are league above others and it ends up becoming a 1 sided bloodbath. With URF you see the same 20 champs picked because of the established meta, and with ARURF you pray the other team doesn't have zed/eve/wukong etc while your team is stuck with randoms pick like Nunu or Yasuo. The mode itself was great when it first came out, but it just hasn't aged well.
: Whats the deal with Ascension and Poro King on the boards
It's the fact that Riot purposely leaves out urf because "people will get sick of it fast" but have no problem with ascension being up in between other modes. Talk about hypocrisy.

: Unlock all champions in ARAM
I wish. Everyone in high tier ARAM knows that at this point Sona is just auto win and is bound to be in almost every game.
: ARAM Changes for 7.10
Most players who are in the higher bracket of ARAM will tell you that Sona is usually auto-win, and her 70% win rate (almost 80% in diamond) is a reflection of that. It would be a lot easier to nerf Sona (and champions like Ziggs) instead of working around them and changing the system, especially when it's pretty clear that she's in a league of her own when it comes to ARAM. I don't understand why you refuse to nerf champions for ARAM only when it's a permanent queue. If you're not going to make every champion available in order to make ARAM only accounts null then you could at least tweak the champions who are glaringly impacting the queue negatively. A 70-80% win rate is something people would expect from a temporary game mode like URF, not a **permanent** mode like ARAM that has been around for _5 years_. Ignoring the elephant in the room won't fix the problem. The lack of support for ARAM is not only disappointing, but depressing as well since nothing kills the fun more faster than seeing Lux, Ziggs, and Sona in every match.
Frager (EUNE)
: If you dodge in ARAM you should end up with the same champ next game.
I think dodging is more of an aftereffect of ARAM accounts more than anything, especially at higher elos. There's always a high chance of the opposing team including a high tier ARAM champion so if you know you're going to get stomped because the team you rolled is subpar then someone is always going to dodge. Making ARAM actually random by unlocking every champion would fix many of the indirect issues plaguing the game mode right now. It makes no sense that Riot doesn't care despite ARAM being a permanent game mode.
