I agree with this a lot actually, but I wouldn't say that's entirely why. There are quite a few threads every now and then detailing how they asked riot to close there account, I'd imagine the majority wouldn't even post about it, they'd just go.
: This has always been true though...? If a post hits 15 quickly enough it’ll be the front because it’s “hot”. Also there is a lot more dissenting opinions on the boards. During S7 Boards was SUPER fucking homogenous. Most threads against ADCs would have 95% up votes. Whereas you look at any front page thread now and they’re like 78/35. Don’t worry, Boards is cult - like. Only the same 8-15 people that sit on new decides what 90% of the others see. People will dissenting opinions will slowly fade out.

Even before ardent cancer the boards were pretty poppin'. Ardent censer was a boost for population, sure, but it faded out when it got fixed. Only the same 8-15 people that sit on new decides what 90% of the others see. People will dissenting opinions will slowly fade out. Not much to say about this. I highly doubt the same 8-15 people are going from board to board searching for stuff to squash or promote
: The last time you saw a team fight last even this long.....?
It's because of the runes reforged. They literally broke the game, and they've only been adding more and more damage to them after that. My god, as a former poppy main this resonates with me so hard, just because I remember getting that tanky and actually still having a chance at fighting someone with more damage than me, or at least having the ability to run away because my armor wasn't completely ignored.

Yeah, noticed this too, I feel like every time I looked at the front page the top posts usually had 100+ upvotes but now typically have upwards of 15, I think the highest I've seen recently getting around 200 (and usually because of controversy or extremely popular subject.)

And to the point someone else made: >Voting, up or down, is a way of showing if you approve or disapprove of someone's idea, opinion, suggestion, etc. You can also show your disapproval by actually contributing something tangible to the discussion. We have this phenomenon nowadays where people simply want to express "like/dislike" without actually giving a "why?" (either because they don't want to be subjected to criticism or because they haven't taken the time to consider what they're actually agreeing or disagreeing with). The point of a discussion is to reach the most beneficial and effective outcome for all parties as realistically as possible. That's the ideal outcome. If someone has an idea and all you want to do is express dislike, that's fine I guess. But when those ideas get implemented because you or someone else hasn't given a reasonable counter-proposal, you've actually done yourself the injustice.

How? Just because you're post gets downvoted doesn't mean what you said gets deleted Unless it's incredibly dumb or insensitive Then it just straight gets hidden But I've never seen someone who makes a fair argument go beyond that downvote limit, so unless you're really sensitive to the idea of your comment being disliked by someone else, I don't really see why they're such big deals. : hating Zoe has got to be a meme at this stage, what does she do that is different from any other mage? Her Q doesn’t even 1-shot WITH Sleepy Trouble Time anymore unless she’s stupidly fed. Complaining about her at this stage is just laugable. Also, just because 1 ability in Akali’s kit is strong doesn’t mean Akali’s rework was a failure. Need I remind you the true point to rework Akali was to address her binary all in burst pattern, which the rework addresses successfully. Her shroud was gutted in the past because how she worked, her shroud was kept to preserve identity. Her problem is her shroud, but on the whole, there is nothing wrong with the Akali rework and the objectives it set out to clear was sucessful.

Complaining about her at this stage is just laugable. I agree with the latter statement, but on release spam sleepy until you get one lucky hit was just stupid, especially because it **could** 1-shot you pretty much from anywhere after she got a sheen. Also, Akali's ban/pick/wr stats are very indicative of an already apparent problem. You can say that her rework's goals were accomplished, sure, but at a cost larger than the gain, so in that sense, it was, in fact, a failure. I love her new visuals though, the animations and that anime hair are spicier than a really good curry.

Literally amazes me how people don't understand how ridiculous this shit is. This is a stupid argument for two reasons. 1. Smash melee came out for the gamecube in 2001. They couldn't roll out patches for that game even today. That'd be like if I said "man, people don't complain about fracking worms' balance issues for the nintendo 64." 2. Smash bros wiiu received regular patches to balance the game and Smash bros. Ultimate is going to receive regular patches to balance the game. Noone wants sakurai fired because he made a good video game, and he's working to make it better. On top of that, CS:GO i'd say is a pretty balanced game. It might be a tactical fps, but it's still a team based strategy game. The difference with that game's patches is that they have a clear goal of reaching balance, while also freshening it up with new content. Meanwhile, riot has literally admitted to switching up metas just to "spice things up" with no clear direction as to where they want the game to be.

It generally has to do with the fact that a lot of skins are aimed at the chinese community since they make up a very large portion of league's community, the idea being chinese players enjoy faster and bursty games (for whatever reason) but honestly the best theory I've heard is to grow the market via internet cafes. When are people going to stop saying this. No, Riot does not "only care about the esports scene" and it's been proven time and again by their balance decisions: * Riot balances predominantly around ranks that are nowhere near pro-level (High plat/low diamond) * Riot frequently has patches that hit champs only good in solo/low queue (Bye Yorick) * RIot will occasionally do a pro-centric patch. Usually around worlds. * Balance has always favored lower-tier players more than higher tier players. * Balance decisions are often about placebo buffs/nerfs more than things that have lasting impact in pro/high tier games. People don't want to swallow the pill but Riot balances around casual play. Perhaps way more than they actually should. As a lasting reminder: Everything currently happening with the game could be traced back to Dunkey's "I'm quitting League" video in which all the things people say they missed (long games, extremely low damage, games only decided by late game teamfights and nothing else) were hardcore complaints back in the day. If Riot actually balanced around pros to the degree boards says they do, we'd see a LOT more interesting pro games than the handicapped balancing we have today.

I don't know if you watched the same video I watched, but dunkey's main gripe was that he got banned for toxicity in a game that is inherently toxic, which is something I completely agree with. His summary of the game as "laning phase, one guy sits under tower the entire game, and then the rest is just teamfight until some idiot gets caught" which is still basically league today. Game's stretching into the 45 minute mark was a problem for him because the game became a chore to play, while his friends argued. His point was that league doesn't work as a game in general, and it shouldn't ban you for talking shit, and I completely agree with both of those statements. Meanwhile, how much do you want to bet a vayne skin is releasing in the near future with her buffs? I think that's what people here are saying, I think that's what streamers have made pretty evident, and I think youtubers have made that pretty evident. It's not just people here being crazy, otherwise people who don't even visit the boards wouldn't think the same thing.

I don't know, I agree with a majority of your statement but some people do go wayyyyy too far with how they talk about riot.

I'm just saying, maybe in an attempt to keep new champions unique, they remove the idea that the champions kit needs to be fun, or fair.
: Unfortunately a true answer to this is impossible due to so many people leaving and Riot refusing to give out any data whatsoever on who remains.

I hope someone leaks that stuff. It's frustrating, seeing as they stopped giving it out after their playerbase dropped by 20 million in one year.
: Neeko needs to make a trade off: Her damage or its reliability
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I feel like her ult brings too much damage to the table if it's going to be combined with CC, and generally be of low-risk to her. In addition, her Q brings a lot of damage in addition to being AOE,which when combined with her E can at the very least double proc which hurts a lot more than it should, even when she's not fed. Don't know what her mana costs are like though, but her cooldowns feel pretty short.

This would be why, there are far too many other champs you don't want to let through either because they're broken, unfun to play against in general, they dumpster matchups to the point where it's nye-unwinnable (e.g. Darius vs most melee tanks) or they are just irritating or all the above. Or in the case of Neeko you don't want a teammate to go 0/20 because they're first timing and claim that they're a "Neeko prodigy", standard practice of banning new champs so that your teammates can't hard feed on them and actually have to take the time to learn them if they want to play them. Zoe is the least of our worries when we have a 53% win rate Lucian allowed through pick/ban phase running around 2-3 hitting kids while perma-kiting and being semi-tanky due to Black Cleaver, or Akali who just invalidates any means of interactivity in lane or Pyke who just wins the moment he gets ahead due to his general slipperiness and above average damage and consistency.

Isn't it strange how 9 out of the 17 champs posted here are relatively new?

: Why are people no longer permabanning Zoe
zoe got bombed with nerfs, she's no longer the annoying little spam monster she used to be. When she's fed, it reminds me of her on-release state, but now she's just kinda there. What did you expect? If she can't 1 shot you wither her E+R+Q then she's basically useless. When she can, she's not fun to play against. That's the way her kit was designed, feast or famine, only now she can't auto start the feast at level 3 and 6 anymore.

Should they be nerfed into the ground to because people ban it alot? Nobody has been asking for what's getting nerfed on her to get nerfed. They've been complaining about her shroud, which hasn't been touched, in addition to being one of the worst designs for a champion. Nobody wants yasuo nerfed, everybody wants him reworked into something healthy. Nobody wants akali nerfed, everybody wants her to be reworked into something healthy.
: Neeko's transistion from creepy to cute is disappointing to find out.
one on left and one on right can still fit her "WHOAH LOOK AT THIS CRAZY PLACE" aesthetic they're going for, meanwhile middle-left looks like avatar, and middle-right looks too... absent. Hoping either the very left or very right become skins.
