: They could make the resistances last longer in exchange for lowering the amount gained from Aftershock, that way champions who use it to legitimately frontline will get more use out of it over long periods of time, while champions like {{champion:99}} {{champion:555}} {{champion:127}} etc... won’t have the ludicrously high resistances to cover their squishy-ness after busting their reliable CC. Honestly I’d even be ok with getting rid of the damage if it was changed to something like that. For example: Aftershock currently gives you 70 (+50% Armor/MR) Resistances capping at 80-150 for 2.5 seconds Instead Riot could make it grant 40 (+30% Armor/MR) with no cap for 4-8 seconds. It’s harder to wait out this version of Aftershock, and it’s less immediate defenses, but it’s easier to burst down Squishies who’ve abused the rune, and gives tanks a good dueling/teamfight advantage.
Tbh they should gut it for ranged champions and give compensation buffs for the very few legit ranged users of the keystone that may suffer from the nerf like {{champion:412}}
: She's not _that_ big of a deal. I don't think she necessarily needs damage buffs (+5% isn't that bad though) but the reduced damage taken is fine in my opinion. She's really situational for the most part. If you're unlucky and don't have an Exhaust or decent lockdown on your team she's going to faceroll you like Yi does. If you do have at least one of those then you aren't really in much danger as a team. She just turns into a regular annoying assassin and picks people off. She doesn't scale all that hard into the game and she has to get kills for damage resets so one MR or Health item goes a long way. I'm surprised you're complaining about +5% on Katarina with way bigger offenders just sitting around, like Kai'Sa, LeBlanc and Qiyana at +12%, Evelynn at +15%, Kha'Zix at +8% or Shyvana also at 5%. Not even including the damage reductions on them.
Tbh you shouldn't bring up Talon, LeBlanc, Akali, Qiyana ,etc as examples, unlike Kat these champions don't have CD resets on kill, a feature that is problematic and very hard to balance in ARAM due to constant teamfights, because of this Kat is very coin flip in the game mode, she's either useless when faced against comps with tanks and cc or steamrolls everyone if she's against a favorable comp. Also she's passively buffed through many of the other changes in game: - Most popular AP, AD carries picked in that mode got a damage dealt reduction or increased damage taken, meaning that it's easier for Kat to rip through the enemy backline because of the extra damage taken and it's also harder for the the enemy team to burst her down due to the damage nerfs. - Snowball & Conqueror synergy: a very short cd Summoner Spell that serves as an engage tool also gives 2 stacks of Conqueror, Snowball in > Gunblade > Q(or E) > R = instant max stack Conqueror, combining with all the % adjustments and add a Death Dance into Kat's build and her Sustain become extremely ridiculous. Her % buffs used to be as big as other assassins and her winrates skyrocketed so they have to tone it down to 5% damage dealt & reduction, and according to Riot Mort's [data](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRBIsqSXad9IX8qX1VRl6SLeMPhWSQnhxiyzYa-5-As_9h7DI3Ej1-CczZL2gYrE4IVlx2YZAF7qE90/pubhtml) she still has a higher winrate than the other assassins so you can't really call the others bigger offenders (although Kai'sa is pretty bullshit and I would argue that her winrate is low because most people build her on hit instead of full AP poke or follow Riot's awful item recommendation) There's a reason why Kat and Pyke got called out for being oppressive in ARAM a lot but not the other assassins who received bigger buffs, having resets on their kit meaning that when they're allowed to do their job the entire enemy team don't even get to play the game.

I still have no idea why the rework shifted all of his powers into 2 point and click skills: E and R and gave him a spell shield passive on top of that. Reworks are supposed to raise the champion's skill floor and ceiling, Malz got dumbed down so hard and they had to nerf him multiple times until he feels weak af to play as and is basically just an ult bot now.

"Braindead" as a word to describe a champion is just a term born from the salt of some random hardstuck low ELO Yasuo main who believes they're really Diamond level, but they play a harder champion that doesn't give them free wins and also their teams suck all the time and the enemy teams are always better. I'm low ELO too but I own it and know that it's because I need to improve.

Lol you’re absolutely correct Idk why people are downvoting your comment, most “braindead easy” champions like Garen have pretty low winrates in higher elos because their kits actually fucking suck and are only good at punishing bad players. Imo good Irelia or Akali players are way harder to deal with simply because the champions they are playing have so many outplay potentials in their kits. I swear to god the majority of Yasuo mains are some of the most disgusting, insufferable human beings I’ve ever met in the game. They love blaming everything but themselves for their own failures and shitting on players that main “no skill” champs or role. I once met a hardstuck low Plat Yas main in a 3 man pre-made group, it was a Normal game and the Yas was Mid and his friends were Top and ADC, I was JG and the Support was a D5 Janna player. 3 minutes in and these mofos already looked the Janna player profile at Op.gg and started making fun of her the entire game, talking about how support players have no mechanical skill or map awareness etc. I assumed the Janna already muted all three of them because she didn’t use the chat that entire game, I really hope that was the case because some of the stuff that three stack spoke was really degrading especially when the Janna player died or misplayed. The Yas of course fed his ass off because he got ganked twice by the enemy jungler and started calling me with all kinds of insults and I was like: “dude how tf am I supposed to gank a Lux with Exhaust that sits under tower for 90% of the game because you permashove her???”. After I told him to improve his gameplay instead of acting like a dickhead to everyone and maybe you’ll climb higher the guy just sat under mid tower and talked about how hard Yasuo is past gold and a “low skill” Evelynn player like me would never understand.

In LeBlanc’s case she hasn’t received skin in almost 3 years and I’m pretty sure if Rookie didn’t choose IG LeBlanc she’ll have to wait another 3 years to get a new skin. On top of that unpopular champ mains had really high expectations when it comes to skins and Program is a huge disappointment. Riot should’ve just shoved them into the most generic overused skin themes like Star Guardian, Blood Moon, Pool Party and I’m pretty sure no one would complain, because those skins will always look good enough to get people to spend money on. Well if they ever wanna make more Program skins then the target audiences need to be changed, because those who play female humanoid champs are definitely not fans of them.

Assassin's excel at isolating single opponents and removing them from the game, so they struggle when it's so confined, there is so much CC etc. I don't mind the damage reduction but the extra damage? People hate her already for the damage she can output even after all the nerfs while remaining safe in her little cloud, now it's 10% more in ARAM. The Kai'Sa buff was stupid too. While Akali deletes people while in their face. Kai'Sa is never even seen 50% of the time. Fog of war shots over and over. I basically think all damage buffs are stupid. No champ struggles to deal damage in ARAM, they only struggle to survive because of dog piling or poke. Akali is no different. She doesn't need to delete the enemy ADC or mage 10% faster.

To be fair Akali is also dumpster trash tier in soloq too, the damage buff isn’t exactly healthy but it’s definitely not overkill, besides there aren’t many players that know how to use her properly. Instead of buffing Akali’s damage they could increase her base health regen and give her some extra tenacity.

This, assassins like {{champion:105}} {{champion:238}} {{champion:91}} {{champion:7}} need the damage buffs because there’s nothing else they could contribute besides oneshotting the other team’s carries, and that’s too risky cause the enemy team is always grouped. Nidalee can just grab clarity and spear + heal spam all game without needing to dive into the middle of the fight, why does she need that extra damage? Anyone with a brain could totally realize how safe of a champion she is in ARAM.

No one wants that. What else can Akali contribute to her team? She exists in that map solely to assassinate the other team’s carries. Even with the buffs her winrate is still one of the lowest in ARAM. I’m not saying that the buffs/nerfs are fair, it’s just that Akali feels a lot better to play against compared to shit that got buffed for no reason like {{champion:76}} who can also instantly blow up squishies while having some of the best poke in ARAM with built in sustain, or AP {{champion:145}} who deletes people from 2 screens away with little to no counterplay but let’s buff her because people keep building on-hit on Kai’sa and lose games. Also {{champion:55}} is way more toxic than Akali because of her reset on takedown mechanics that can be extremely problematic in ARAM.

You forgot to mention {{champion:76}} who has one of the most obnoxious poke in the mode with SUSTAIN also received a 15% damage buff, because she is bad at "all ining" and clearly needs to have the damage to instantly blow someone up on top of what she was already able to do. Also don't give champs that has CD resets on kill like {{champion:55}} buffs in ARAM, she still sucks against cc heavy / tank comp while completely annihilate everything else. And where are the nerfs for {{champion:555}} {{champion:518}} {{champion:110}}{{champion:81}} Riot? Also {{champion:83}} nerfs??? I have to laugh that champ was already meme tier before the changes. I'm fine with no ARAM bans but please don't give buffs/nerfs to champs that don't deserve them.
