: > Soooooo, yeah. What do you think? It's hard to weigh in on "hilariously" weak. I think there are some things about towers that could be improved. Some thoughts: * I don't really think turrets universally just die too easily. I think if the outers especially lasted a bit longer (fewer "I lost my outer in one back" moments), however, that could be an improvement. * As players have gotten better at playing around turrets, managing their aggro mechanics and diving them has probably become too easy. * Turret damage on tanks especially feels pretty low. Tanks should feel better about taking a few turret shots than others, but it can feel over the top. Those stand out to me as the opportunities for improvement if we're talking turrets.
I just feel that if both laners are even, then in a 2v1 situation, you should actually feel like you can outplay opponents if you're smart. Right now it feels like, Oh, I got cut off from retreat? Well, I might as well just die since I can't even hope to turn this around unless I have hard CC on demand.
: Riot doesn't have to save you from your own stupidity. At least read what your abilities do before facemashing the keyboard.
It is still a bug though. It's just like how Riot made Azir's Level 1 skill point automatically put into W because his other 2 abilities are useless without it. They did a similar thing to Zilean a while back, but it broke, thus is a bug that needs to be fixed, regardless of whether it relates to being "Stupid"

: Waveclear work for 8.6 or later
if these changes go through, would there be compensation buffs for champions like Veigar who rely on minion farming to really effectively reach their highest potential? Veigar right now struggles to maintain the ability to farm minions and also interract with opponents, and this will simply push veigar further down in the ability to succeed by making his early game truly unbearable.

: according to LoL wikia: "Critical strike chance will adjust dynamically based on the number of basic attack that didn't critically strike. At 30% critical strike chance, if you basic attack without critically striking, your critical strike chance will temporarily be increased to 60%, and if you fail again, it will be increased to 90%, then to 100% if you fail again. The critical strike chance increase will reset whenever you critically strike."
: Mages in Bot Lane: A Discussion
Personally, I think that the only change that Mage's Need are an increase in the % of AP converted to damage on auto attacks to structures to be improved from 40% to 45% (5% makes a HUGE difference), and that the bonus should be applied to Epic Monsters as well (Dragon/Baron/Rift Herald). This would allow them to be slightly better at taking towers without overly weakening them, while also allowing them to deal more damage to neutral objectives while they have to wait for cooldowns. I also think specific champions should be reworked to be better suited to the bot lane 2v2 scenario. Champions I think would work great: 1. Kayle: She's historically been a big DPS based character that deals heavy hybrid/magic damage. I think having a better E Cooldown would help Kayle out a ton, or a more powerful heal so that she can better take the harass that comes when her E is down early game. This could also boost her jungle, making her a more viable flex pick that could go to a variety of locations. 2. Azir: He's actually got the scaling pattern of a hypercarry ADC, and if they weakened his early game enough, I'd wholly support some buffs to his late game damage. I think nerfs to his early soldier cooldown, and soldier damage with buffs to his AP ratios, along with reducing his soldier's range from 850 down to 700. This means Azir has a bit less of a "control" Zone. Next you could also bring back his W "Nuke Tower" ability in exchange for a much longer Soldier cooldown overall. This means that Azir would have larger windows of openings for bullying, trades and some better sieging power. 3: Cassiopeia: Another high DPS mage that has the scalings to work as a bot lane mage. Honestly, she'd need a slightly longer delay on Q explosion so it's a bit easier to avoid, but a slightly higher heal on the E heal on poisoned target. Though this would have to be a very "Cautious" change, as it could actually really mess with the flow and timings that many long time Cass player's have. Those are the 3 "Mages" that I think deserve to be bot lane AP carries the most.

: Across the years from 55% win rate on master tier to 46% win rate on low plat. [Soraka main sadness]
as a fellow Soraka main, you put everything I've hated about this season for Soraka in a way that I could never do without coming off as a whiny little bitch. I've actually been playing since way back when Soraka's heal was originally a heal over time, and played through every single change that they've made. In fact I've offered a lot of suggestions to riot on the PBE boards for how to help soraka, but they seem determined to leave soraka in this really trashy spot while they work on other "Problem champions". Soraka as a champion is much like the Original Aatrox. When she's strong she's toxically oppressive (It's true). But when she's weak, she's nigh unplayable. I've offered a ton of suggestions that make her far more interactive without making her oppressive. I really hope that Riot reads this and decides to try doing another GPU like they're doing for Aatrox, and make Soraka still a premier healer that doesn't live or die by the prevalence of Grievous Wounds or burst damage.
: "hey riot turrets are shit can you fix"
"We're reverting the damage to turret dmg multiplier for baroned siege minions for 8.4. There's a bug we fixed (BoC bonus ad wasn't being counted into the baron buff attack) which made that multiplier a little nutso. Will still be dealing more damage than live, but less crazy."
: Siege minions nuke towers with new baron buff and banner of command (reddit)
So this was actually an issue with a bug in the baron buff application that once the bug got fixed, caused the obscene damage. This should get fixed today, and will most likely be only slightly stronger than what it is on live, but no where near as strong as the video shows. "We're reverting the damage to turret dmg multiplier for baroned siege minions for 8.4. There's a bug we fixed (BoC bonus ad wasn't being counted into the baron buff attack) which made that multiplier a little nutso. Will still be dealing more damage than live, but less crazy."
: It's been cool to watch the discussion around this! I voted for 30-35, which feels like a happy medium to me. I also love the nail-biters that go 50 and up, but I think I'd get tired of that pretty quick if it happened every game.
could you Feed this idea to the rest of Riot to send out a general survey around the world that has the range like this? Right now Riot has their "Average Acceptable Game length" as being like 32 minutes, but from this survey, it seems like people want games to be an average of about 37 minutes, which is a huge disparity from what Riot thinks is acceptable.

I personally enjoyed Fairy Tail for the constant emotional field trips they put me through. (I'm a sucker for feels. I LOVE DEM FEELS) but holy shit, I will be the first to tell you that it gets incredibly repetitive, and boring after about 100 episodes. There are some great arcs, and there's actual character growth, but dat fucking plot armor is annoying as fuck. EDIT: In the discussion about SAO, I tell people to ignore that shit and watch Log Horizon instead.

: Why the ugh? Would love some feedback on what you don't like about Aery or what new thing you would want as an Enchanter support player. :)
The reason I dislike Aery as the "Enchanter" keyrune is because of its damage portion. Because that's there, when the enchanter supports go to poke, they end up using it when they don't want to use it, despite it's short cooldown. Overall, it feels like it was built more towards aggressive play rather than passive recovery/mitigation. If you take a look at all the keyrunes, you'll find that all but those in inspiration are built towards Damage. Soraka, Janna, Ivern, and a few other supportive type champions prefer to be more passive, and would prefer a keyrune built entirely around that. Yeah, Windspeakers was "invisible power" but it wasn't this keyrune that was like, Hey, we increase damage. Oh and you get a little bit of extra bonus shield if you help an ally. Overall, Aery feels disjointed in that it feels like it was built for the Support Karmas, Luxs, Nami's and the like over Soraka, Janna, and Ivern. A Keyrune that focuses entirely on preservation would feel so much better. Something like the following: Whenever you heal or shield for X% of an allies health, both you and that ally gain 4% increased resistances for the next few seconds. Or perhaps this: If an ally takes more than 40% of their max HP in damage under X seconds, they gain "Critical Condition", causing your next heal/shield on the target to cleanse grievous wounds and heal for Y-Z% more. Sizable cooldown.
Sparkle (NA)
: Ermn, going to respectfully disagree here. Agree with Skorch on his Comet comments and will add that Aery actually significantly boosts damage (possibly even more than Comet, depending on the situation & player) if you are consistently re-positioning to reduce the cooldown & grab the damage proc again (so like, not even using the shield bit). The issue with Deathfire Touch as a keystone, which we've talked about before, is that it had very little gameplay. You just...got more damage... in exchange for nothing. I know it was really fun for mage players because you just...got more damage (and that's fun!)...but the pattern was not producing good play or counterplay (in that...there was no pattern). This is actually also somewhat related to why we switched up the triggers to Electrocute, etc., to require more specific interaction on the side of the rune users. So, TL;DR, we probably won't see something EXACTLY like Deathfire Touch in the new system because it didn't produce meaningful gameplay. **EDIT:** The amount of people threatening to quit League & making hyperbolic statements ("everybody knows that" etc.) because I ventured in to comment here is TOO DAMN HIGH haha https://imgflip.com/s/meme/Too-Damn-High.jpg I've hit my personal mental limit for the day and I'm not going to keep poking the bear, I'm off to go fix some HUD bugs instead. Thanks to the folks who are being constructive in their discussion & feedback, and I will read all of your thoughts here even if I don't respond! :D
can you guys at least provide enchanter supports a keystone that feels good to use outside of *ugh* Aery?

Except, Riot games also sued people that were selling hacks and exploits, AND WON. Various other companies have also done so. Valve sued people that sold wall hacks, and various other bots/exploits, and WON. Simply because one of the 2 people selling the hack is a minor, Epic games must now drop the ENTIRETY of the lawsuit. Meaning that Hack creators and exploiters could now use this to use "Minors" between the ages of 15-17 as front men, making it impossible for companies to sue. The ramifications of being unable to sue and shut down the source of an exploit is terrible for any game, and often can cause a game to die, because it causes people ot lose faith in the companies ability to handle cheaters and hackers. Imagine of OW and blizzard had issues with people hacking the game, but couldn't actually stop the source of the hacking or exploits? People wouldn't touch overwatch.

: Soraka hasn't needed health regen runes for a long time now. If you're running those, were doing it wrong anyway. The game already has some newb trap runes, why do you want more?
I always ran them anyways because they felt noticeable over any other runes I owned, that, and with how Riot announced Rune's reforged, i wasn't going to drop 5-6k gold on new runes, or the 20 IP on new runes when everything dropped to 1 IP.

: Cancer champ got gutted good riddance.
Okay, but that doesn't change the fact that there's too much damage in the system, and not enough ways to mitigate that damage effectively. Soraka, one of the few champions that COULD help alleviate the feeling of too much damage, is struggling to reach points where she can make that a reality. ON top of that, there are ways to make Soraka more healthy and engaging as a champion that Riot has REFUSED to listen to me about.

: Question however You do realise soraka was really effective extra levels in q aery abuser XDDD??? Improvise adapt overcome mate I wont say that dmg in league is to high I ll say that defense is to irrellevant however there is a small difference
The problem is not changing skill order max, it's the fact that there just isn't a set of runes or keystones that feel like they're meant for "pure defense"
: I had fun for all of 12 games before everything just started to suck for me and become unfun. I just don't enjoy League right now, so I'm taking a bit of a break and may play it every so often to see how I feel. I've taken long breaks from games before, but never did I have such a view on the game I'm taking a break from.
I'm the same way. I don't ever feel like a loss is fun. Even games that I win feel like they were just a giant mess and not fun to play. I uninstalled the game because I was just annoyed and frustrated that the game felt like it was just a giant waste of time.
: There isn't even a laning phase anymore
let's not mention that damageless supports like Ivern, Raka, and (Bard who is honestly mostly utility with one big damage ability) are struggling to find footing in this early game where they should SHINE. (Ignore Janna, because she's fucking janna and she'll never ever ever be bad). Aery should be a rune that ONLY provides bonus shielding to allies. It shouldn't be one of the best damage runes in the game. also, I want soraka to actually have decent health regen. I can't ever feel like I can survive laning phase anymore.

: I'd love for someone to post a legitimate mathematical analysis as to why Riot's wrong on BE.
It's not a mathematical issue, it's a psychological issue about what "FEELS" better. For example, in a homebrew RPG I've worked on, in character creation (Everyone has access to magic as a heads up) I set up Magic as a "Point buy system" tied to one of the stats, intelligence. Originally the formula was 2+Intelligence stat. However, changing to 5+Intelligence Modifier (Min of 3) felt far better because even though it was completely Identical to the original formula in all functionality, the 2nd one felt better because it "Started Higher" and felt more like a decision to sacrifice magical power by lowering your Intelligence rather than "I don't care what your Intelligence is, you get some magic anyways" and didn't feel satisfying. Math with Visceral things is JUST as much about how it FEELS as it does the numbers. Losing all the "BE" income from each game played just doesn't FEEL as good. Yeah you get way more BE from the capsules on level up than you would have from the games getting there, but does it FEEL good? HELL NO. It feels like trash when you get 3 shards, with one being a 4800 champion and 2 450 champions that you already own, and disenchant it into about 500 BE. You'd rather have earned the the 60-80 IP from a single win or loss and the 250 on top from first win instead. IT felt like you you making progress with each game, no matter how short.

GP's original E required him to kill an ally minion to grant his entire team a buff. Doing so granted GP the entire XP for the minion. First nerf to it was removing GP getting the XP for killing the minion, then they made it so he could activate it whenever, without needing a minion.

{{champion:10}} Why the fuck do people keep forgetting about me?
: It's definitely on the books to be looked at, though no pressing desire imminently given all the other things that are going on. We'd like to make it an item that has more contextual strengths that you actually care about. Current Ohmwrecker is an item that best case you'd buy as a 3rd or 4th item - but likely even later, and if you ARE buying it, you're probably either already winning, or have a tank that doesn't mind tanking a few turret shots for a dive. TL;DR - currently has a use case that's super limited and also not super exciting, we want to work on it, not sure exactly when we'll get to it.
Make it another AP/Armor item that is designed for shield busting. Make it build out of Seeker's Armguard and Chain Vest for 40 AP and 85 Armor. Unique Passive: Shield Bypass - 25% of the magic damage this unit deals bypasses shields. This allows it to act as a soft counter to AD mid laners that usually rush the Hexdrinker, by giving them an item that grants plenty of resistance, and allows them to make up a bit of the loss of AP by being able to bypass shields slightly.

: Any and all of the mid laners you listed deserve it way more than graves. The champ doesn’t have to be a newly strong pick. They just had to be relevant. Let’s not forget not a single mid laner has gotten the victorious skin and its season 7 for goodness sake.
Morgana and Janna were not played as supports during their seasons that they got their victorious skins. Morgana was a top laner, and Janna was a mid laner. And, Morgana is still a perfectly viable mid lane champion.
: It should have been Ori in my opinion.
Why? Orianna has been a staple and steady mid pick for years. Like 4 or 5 years now.

: (You won't find a single Raka player right now who doesn't run Health Regen runes) I'm level 7 and I use Ap/armor ruins, running health regen is redundant with her Q
I have a very good winrate with Raka, and several hundred thousand champion mastery points with her, and I've always ran HP/regen, and when I'm not using them, I can really feel it as it really hampers how agressive I heal, and how much I can sustain in lane.
: If for "fix her interactivity" you mean remove her waveclear know that this will straight up remove her from midlane, not fix some issue. Look at the (few) mages currently played: they all have waveclear. Take {{champion:61}} : if she decides she doesn't want to interact with you she will not, she will Q-W the wave and back off. Same for {{champion:163}} and {{champion:134}}. Meanwhile longer range mages have more issue clearing waves then their lower range counterpart, and thus are both less played and less successful. Midlane is the lane with the higher roam potential: waveclear needs to be a thing there or champions better at roaming would simply dominate everyone else if their roams can't be punished or prevented. I think you are approaching "interactivity" in a very wrong way when it comes to mages, not considering their "macro" position in the game. The only way I see to make Morgana more punishable is changes aimed at her E to remove it "on demand", but that would destroy her support role AND make her want to trade LESS. So, pls don't remover her ability to kill minions if u want her to stay mid! (I'd rather keep her as a niche counterpick then see her completely pushed out).. {{sticker:sg-soraka}}
I think he means making her waveclear more interactive than just, Press a button and wait for all the minions to die. Most mid laners right now don't have 1 button that clears a full wave from full to nothing, and can't do it from level 7 on. Morgana's Play pattern has a lot of potential to be interactive and engaging, but a 3 second snare, and a press button to waveclear make for a pretty non-interactive lane. A large scale update, Keeping her ultimate (as it's her best part of "Interact with me") is probably the best thing they can do. Black shield also has a lot of potential as well. so she'd need a new Q and W.
: We're discussing Coin adjustments internally, as well as a potential adjustment to Spellthief's. Not sure what will ship, but conversations are being had. Regardless of the outcome of those conversations, it may still be the right thing to do to make some changes to certain enchanters. Over the course of the last few years, a lot has changed about the standards of fairness that modern spells are held to, and defensive spells frequently haven't been held subject to those same standards. Many offensive spells can miss, or have delays or other sources of unreliability to them that make the outcomes behind using them uncertain, or at least give opponents time to react to them occurring. Most defensive spells, on the other hand, are just point and click defensive steroids or health injections of some sort. Reliability isn't necessarily a bad thing; it contributes heavily to a champion being able to do its job consistently. But when characters of high reliability become dominant, it can feel especially hopeless to try to fight them. We see that regularly on offensive-oriented characters, but the same can be true of defensive ones. As such, if or once Ancient Coin is appropriately balanced, it could still be the right thing to do small updates or modernization/fairness passes on some enchanters (or more specifically, to low gameplay defensive spells) to promote more healthy gameplay overall. The implications on the overall flow and cohesiveness of the kit are usually significant in these cases, though, so doing them can be difficult. For what it's worth, there's no scheduled action planned on this front at the moment, but talks around what makes for good enchanter gameplay (both through coin and individual kits) are ones we've been having lately.
I had a suggestion for how to prevent Soraka from being absolutely batshit insane WAY back when Soraka's rework to her current kit first hit the PBE. Drawing Inspiration from Tahm's "Grey health" I suggested the following change "Astral Infusion: Soraka Grants an allied champion an 80/120/160/200/240 (+X) Shield for 2 seconds. After that period, the remaining health of the shield changes to gray health which slowly decays into health at a 70/85/100/115/130% exchange rate. If the champion is hit while gray health is visible, it is all removed instantly. If soraka has hit a champion with Starcall within the last 3 seconds, the shield lasts twice as long, and soraka gains a shield worth half value. Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 seconds" This sort of concept would be two fold. Ensure Soraka's Out of combat sustain is still among the best in the game, while also allowing FAR more counterplay in the form of poke once to negate all healing. It also makes Soraka have clearer weaknesses in that her sustain in offensive sieging is far more powerful than her sustain in defending against a siege. Along with the change to her W, her Q would need to be changed as well, especially if you removed Soraka's health cost on her W. "Starcall: Soraka calls a Star down to a target location, slowing all enemies hit, and granting Soraka 1/2/3/4/5% Increased Healing and Shielding for the next 5 seconds. This increases for each champion hit up to a maximum of 25%." This change encourages Soraka to be offensive, and offers a FAR more engaging late game benefit to Q than what is currently offered. This encourages Soraka to make riskier plays, and make herself far more vulnerable. Considering Soraka gets hit incredibly hard by the removal of runes, (You won't find a single Raka player right now who doesn't run Health Regen runes), and that alone will nerf her out of viability, but straight up buffing her is out of the question since she's just too toxic and frustrating to play against. The biggest issues for Champions like Sona/Soraka is that you guys just can't seem to figure out how to give them "Engaging moments" to take risks. A soraka in lane that manages to hit both enemy laners with Q with my changes, suddenly allows her ally to go INCREDIBLY hard for just a few seconds due to having a far larger shield than would be expected.

The issue is that Tyler did it purely for the entertainment value, Jensen did it out of salty rage at his opponents.
